We wanted to find a cute Italian place to eat before we saw the sunset. This place was decent. We sat next to the doors so every time the door opened there was a risk of flies. The breadsticks tasted good. I could tell they were homemade but it would have been nice if they were crispier. We ordered the margherita pizza and chicken Arrabbiata pasta. The pizza was alright. It wasn't terrible but it was missing that flavor I look for in a margherita pizza. I can't realize describe it. The chicken arrabbiata was okay as well. I like my noodles more adente and the chicken tasted a little overcooked. The staff were super friendly, but definitely not a place to hang out after you finish eating. They get busy and need every table.

Cute little family owned Italian restaurant. We missed the owners, but I hear that their presence at the restaurant is what cultivates that cozy family feel. Even though they weren't there the food was excellent and the vibes were still a cozy kind of casual. Great selection of items on the menu, full bar and very serve delicious garlic knots complimentary when seated. Parking is plentiful (a nice welcome in Austin!) as they have a parking lot.

A great down home Italian feel, not pretentious at all. And yes, Giovanni and his family are actually there at the restaurant. The service was fast and super friendly. Our server even offered to put some bolognese on the side of the chicken parm so we could try it. I had the rib-eye Marsala. The sauce was delicious and the pasta was cooked perfectly Al Dente. The steak itself was just okay, a bit over cooked. Desserts we're 10/10 - cannoli, Italian cream cake, and tiramisu. Is it the best Italian that I've ever had, no. Is it good quality for the price, yes. Definitely worth trying and getting out of the city.

This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the Austin surrounding area. The prices are perfect. The servings are plentiful. And the food is authentic and delicious. We have never been disappointed. They have various lunch specials that are reasonably priced. They have pizza and calzones, too. The entrees come with a salad or soup. The salad is quite fresh and complimented with deliciously made dressings. If you want to go the extra, ask for a caprice salad, their mozzarella is fresh and perfectly seasoned. Desserts vary, as very dependent on what was made or brought in for the day. My recommendation is the limoncello slice of cake. The family that runs the place is originally from Italy. Having lived in Italy during my service years, I love coming in and speaking Italian with Lina. There is beer and wine available along with cappuccino and expresso. Prices are very reasonable. If you are looking for authentic Italian food at a good price and great host, this is the place to try and likely you'll come back - again and again!

A long time ago, I dined at their trunk on the East Side. Recently, we had a random weekday off and decided to have a little fun. By the time we drove home, we were hungry and realized we had nothing in the house, so we stopped in for a very late lunch. I try to avoid gluten whenever possible, and since I wasn't in the mood for a salad, they offered to make me a meatball dish, which was perfect. My husband ordered a pizza. The service was friendly, and the food was okay. However, since I don't eat gluten, my taste preferences may differ from others. If you enjoy gluten, this place is likely a good fit for you. It's worth noting that parking can be a bit tricky on busy nights. The restaurant has a huge patio and backyard space, and I'm glad to see it thriving in this location after many years of turnover. Price wise I think it is a bit high but isn't everything these days. Their service is five stars.

1/5 -- COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. WE WILL NOT BE BACK…read more We should have left the moment they seated us upstairs. At 7:00 p.m., it was 100 degrees outside in Austin. When we finally walked out of the restaurant, IT FELT COOLER OUTSIDE THAN IT DID IN THE UPSTAIRS DINING ROOM. That is not an exaggeration. It was like eating in a sauna. Who wants to sit and eat a meal in a sauna? We were drenched in sweat. I am extremely cold-natured -- I am normally the person who is freezing in restaurants -- and I was soaked. It became so unbearably hot that we couldn't even finish our meal. We ate what we could, packed up the rest, paid our bill, and left. There appears to be ONE table upstairs near the AC where the temperature is tolerable. The rest of the upstairs dining area was unbelievably hot. There were no auxiliary AC units and not even a fan in the area where we were seated. What made me especially angry was seeing babies and small children being seated up there. One infant in a carrier near us had a very red face from the heat. We saw other small children with red faces as well. If grown adults are drenched in sweat simply sitting at a table, that is not an appropriate environment for babies, children, senior citizens, or anyone particularly vulnerable to excessive heat. When we finally got downstairs, it became even more frustrating. Downstairs was pleasant, and I saw an auxiliary AC unit running. So clearly supplemental cooling was available and being used elsewhere in the restaurant. As we were leaving, I specifically told the hostess, "You should not be seating ANYONE upstairs, especially babies." To be clear, the hostess was polite. She wasn't rude or argumentative. But she also seemed completely unsurprised by what I was telling her. Her response was essentially, "We're sorry, it's just the way it is." That response made the situation even more unacceptable to me. If this is "just the way it is," then the restaurant KNOWS how hot it gets upstairs. Yet NO ONE WARNED US. Nobody told us before taking us upstairs, "It's extremely hot up there." Nobody gave us the option of waiting for a downstairs table. We were simply seated in an area that was so hot we ultimately couldn't tolerate staying long enough to finish our food. There was even a young woman standing behind the hostess holding a fan. I told her she should take that fan upstairs for the baby. After all of this, there was no discount or adjustment to our bill. We paid for a meal we couldn't even stay and finish because the dining room was unbearably hot. This is Texas. Of course restaurants have to deal with extreme heat. But if you KNOW an area of your restaurant cannot be adequately cooled, you don't shrug your shoulders and continue seating people there. CLOSE THE UPSTAIRS. Or properly cool it. At the absolute minimum, WARN CUSTOMERS BEFORE TAKING THEM UP THERE and allow them to decide whether they want to sit there. It was like sitting in a sauna trying to eat dinner. We were soaked in sweat. At 7:00 p.m., we walked outside into 100-degree weather and the outside air felt COOLER. That is absolutely ridiculous and completely unacceptable. We will not be back.

The zucchini blossom appetizer was promising, but $18 for four pieces was ridiculous. The arugula salad ($12) was basic but fresh, and large enough to share. The sandwiches came with Garlic Fries. The Fries were delicious but unfortunately mine were lukewarm. I certainly could have asked for a fresh portion, but was hungry enough not to bother. That's the reason my rating wasn't 5 Star. Because the restaurant was pretty empty on this Saturday afternoon, I feel the Chef shouldn't have sent out fries that weren't piping hot. I enjoyed my time here. Don't forget to get some gelato on your way out. The service was spectacular and the waiter was so knowledgeable about the menu . Now, let's get into what I ate. Appetizers: Bread- I'm not sure what the proper name for the bread is, but it was so good. The bread was like a warm hug. It had a welcoming taste. I can't even explain it fully. The texture was phenomenal. It was like a cornbread and a roll put together. Artichoke fritters- This dish surprised me. I didn't expect to like it so much. It was fried to perfection and flavorful. I honestly didn't need the sauce . Meatballs- The meatballs were the best I've had in my life. They were covered in a well prepared sauce. Entrée: Snapper with pesto pasta- My snapper was very flavorful. The only downfall of the snapper was the size. For the price, I expected a whole snapper. The pasta was good, but I'm not a huge fan of pasta. I also ordered brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were cooked very well. Dessert: Biscoff and almond gelato - This was a perfect ending to to a wonderful meal. The gelato flavors change often. I will definitely go again!
