Have you ever had something you loved so much that you didn't really want to share it? Well that's the relationship I have with the Wine Cellar. This place is amazing and we love it but like a good secret, kinda want to keep it to ourselves. Their wine selection is the best in town and their prices are amazing. Stephen, Tim and John all know and love their wines and are some of the nicest people we know. They offer weekly tastings that allow you to explore all sorts of different wines affordably. If you love wine, this is your place.

Love this place! Excellent selection of wine and small bites featuring local Austin purveyors. Follow their social pages for unique tasting events. The friendliest most welcoming staff- it's no wonder locals frequent this shop & bar.

Best place near Austin for wine. Very relaxing atmospherere, both indoors and out, unique selection. Steven can get anything. The workers and the guests are all amazing. Steven, David and John are the best people ever. You can ask any question and they can always lead you in the right direction. All the other guests will always help you feel included, if you are nice. A great place for everyday wine, party wine and whatever wine. The people here will always help you out. Plz call us if you're heading over, we'll join you

The waiter was fun witty and most of all got our order , perfect~~ first I ordered the shrimp platter with mashed potatoes and sauted spinach, so delicious!! Low salt and made my day. The birthday boy ordered prime rib with salad with potatoes. Then ordered mimosas and rice with grilled Mahi-Mahi. Amazing dishes, so pleased with service ambiance and attentive waiter. All dishes were Epic tasting. Glad we stopped in. Plenty of parking. No problem there. The salmon this time was ordered medium and it came out perfect on the edges but the inside was stringy and raw. I'm not talking pink, but the red, gooey, translucent flesh color. Waitress said "next time we'll order it well done." She was trying to be funny but it came off as a little dismissive as she didn't look at the fish. The chicken strawberry salad was very good except for the chicken. I thought a restaurant like this would know that a salad with bright acids shouldn't be mixed with fatty, lumpy chunks of dark meat. Apparently they use a rotisserie chicken that's stripped by a machine - then they just grab a handful of whatever comes out and throw it on the salad. For the cooks it's easy to remember - if it's slathered in sauce use dark meat, otherwise use breast meat. Service was attentive and the outside patio was nice.

Every dish reflected the chef's incredible talent and passion. One of the highlights of our evening was getting to meet the chef personally. She was so warm, engaging, and clearly passionate about her craft. It made the experience feel especially personal and memorable. The service, food, and atmosphere were all outstanding. Plate is truly a special restaurant, and we cannot wait to return. We highly recommend it! A must stop for folks visiting Austin Tx.!

No that I'm that hard to please. Was looking for an elevated meal with my lovely wife…read more Here are my reasons that, in my opinion, is not worth the price or the time spent. Ambiance - Average. Bar area looked loud and fun. We wanted their elevated dining experience, so they took us to a table in an empty room that had what looked like Christmas ornaments hanging from the ceiling, that was quite warm. We mentioned it and waitress said she thought so, too. Really, we had to ask? The Elevated? I had to physically change chairs because mine had stuff on it from and earlier meal. Ew! Food - good but not elevated. Not for the price. Wine list - extremely over priced. As a partner of a Napa winery, I know what wine costs and the 'by the glass price" is what they pay for the entire bottle. Cellar bottle prices were 3X to 4X plus. Clincher - After the meal I received a call from them questioning our payment of the bill. We left a gift card, plus cash for the tip (we know wait staff like cash). Seems they only saw the cash and decided to call. I expect when the find the card and realize their mistake, they will not call to apologize (they can/should check their cameras to verify us making that payment). In my opinion, this a bar restaurant with decent food. Not fine dining, at all. Go there for a beer and elevated burger. But it will come with a price.

Stone House sits high above Lake Travis and provides beautiful views as you sip their Texas wines. Here you can enjoy their Australian or Napa inspired wines either in their AC cooled lounges or residing in one of their Adirondack chairs and enjoying the view. One of our Favs is the 2019 Angela's Wish Barossa Valley. This a Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz red blend. This is a very complex wine with a strong tannin finish. I love a good Malbec and their 2022 Malbec Napa Valley is good err great. It pours dark ruby red with an oak finish. Stone house offers wine tastings, a chef's five course pairing, and a deep dive wine master class. They do have weekend grilling, themed dinners, and a very interesting menu to accompany your wine.
