We came here after being on the lake for about 5 hours. First, it was a Monday and very few places around this area were open. Happen it was open as it was an overall nice experience. First, when we came it was not crowded at all. Which was nice, because the kids were hungry and crabby. The inside is pretty nice and had a nice decor. The bathrooms seemed clean, but lightening was vey dim. They had outside seating and I believe a playground. Not 1000% sure on the playground but it looked as if it was on their property. We noticed it driving around the property. The outside area looked nice and had a Tv. They were playing sports on it. Pickle-ball to be exact?!?! Since when did ESPN have that on. Anyway, back to important aspects of the review. Our waitress was was super nice. She missed up the kids orders a bit on pizza by switching around a few toppings. She was super apologetic and corrected the issue. And her apology was sincere, which was nice. All of us just had pizza, and it was really good. Three-ish star food, one star service. The host was great and sat us right away outside. He had a mask on and was being cautious and helpful. We sat outside--the restaurant was pretty dead both inside and out. Our waiter came (mask wasn't over his nose sometimes) and asked if we wanted to start with anything. We got waters and asked for menus, and he instructed us they were online. We browsed and when he returned, I ordered their cosmo drink and the baked mild buffalo wings. I asked if they were gluten free, and he said he "thinks so", that the wings weren't breaded or anything but the sauce he wasn't sure. He told us it was Franks which is safe. I then asked if he knew what brand the gluten free pizza crust was--he literally just shrugged and said "I don't know". He didn't even offer to check or anything. So yeah. We said the wings and drinks were good for now. When we brought my drink, he spilled it as he set it down without saying anything or offering to wipe off the table. The drink itself was nothing special and could've been a lot colder. Then he let us know the wings were accidentally made with the spicy sauce instead of mild, and it would be 20 minutes to remake it. We just took them and luckily they were fine, and we actually enjoyed them. They were probably the best part of this whole experience and why I'd say three stars for food. My husband had to ask him for more waters and napkins as he brought neither to us. Then, when he finally came back, we put in our entree orders. To note, he did not use a note pad. We were suspicious. My husband got the bleu buffalo pizza and I did a build you own. I asked for a gluten free pizza with multiple toppings, just olive oil as a base, and no cheese or tomato (I have ALL the allergies). I was super clear to say no cheese or tomato, just oil and the toppings and he even repeated it back to me. A long while later, our pizzas came out and mine was *drumroll* wrong!! It had cheese AND tomato sauce!! My husband graciously brought it back in and hunted him down, and he said he "didn't hear that". A different server helped us after this, and she was great. She brought it out and was mostly prompt. But all around, this was an almost two-hour dinner at very non-two-hour restaurant; it is no fine dining experience and the service was incredibly slow and poor. Additionally, my gluten free pizza might as well been a cracker. It was hard and burnt. So, unfortunately, we did not have a good experience at all and will not return. I can't believe I've lived in the area for two years and never tried this place! I ordered the lunch special. Lasagna, salad and a beverage. Great price! The lasagna was excellent. The ratio of meat, sauce, spinach and ricotta was spot on. I will say that I did take off the cheese topping half way through as it was too salty for my taste. The salad was good and fresh, but I would have preferred more toppings. Mushrooms would be a great addition. Everything was packaged nicely for take out. Over and over they have the same consistency with their food which is perfect for a family of five. Although we've never dined inside, every time we've taken out it's been delicious. This was my second time back a Mangieri's. The garlic cheese bread appetizer was outstanding! They came hot and stayed warm and enjoyable. Plenty of cheese on the cut bread sticks and tasty marinara and butter dipping sauces. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. Holy cow! Five meatballs, plenty of sauce and noodles. The marinara was so dang good; hearty, chunky and full of taste. Every bite had plenty of noodles, sauce, pieces of meatballs and FLAVOR! The kid had the Capo pizza. He left nothing to share with his dear dad. Must have been delicious! Mangieri's is a great Italian restaurant. Ambiance was nice. A diverse selection of today's music was playing. Kayley our server was very friendly and always checked on us and other guests she had. All the staff was friendly and really attentive to their guests. This place will definitely be on the rotation. It's about what you expect to pay for good quality Italian food. If you're in the mood for Italian, pass up the OG and take a nice drive out to Lakeway to Mangieri's. Worth every nickel!! Had some very good pizza here recently . Thin crust, which we prefer, was great. Excellent service. If weather is right, there is a very nice outdoor dining area. Caution however! If kids bother you, eat inside. The outdoor area has an attached play area for kids. We were seated next to it on a night before a school break, and the kids were having a screaming good time. Love kids, but we moved inside because we couldn't carry on a conversation. On the other hand, if you have young kids, this could be a great choice. read more

This place is now open but not full capacity what I did notice is at the door they do all kinds of deliveries and take out curbside Excedrin they do it all the food is very good at this location and to let everyone know that it is very very open to out side seating so you would enjoy that as well. One thing is the food is totally amazing especially the pastors and the wine is very good as well so they have some very good wines a great selection FYI 1 thing I would say is negative is the tables are very very sticky and I don't feel it's was clean when I came in up in the meantime I will continue to come and make it clear the to clean off the tables is a priority at specially at this time easy parking as well. Definitely not the place I remember it as. The tasty square pizzas are now obtuse amateur depictions of some of the worst pizza in the area. Still better than the swill in Wells, ME, but an embarrassment nonetheless. Mangieris, get it together or sell the place. I threw your garbage away as it was not edible. Sorry to see this happen to one of my former favorites but not surprising when considering the area. Everything here goes to crap eventually, except Sandeez who set a new low bar in mediocrity day one then continued to lower it. Maybe Sandeez acquired Mangieris? It would explain a lot. read more

This used to be my favorite pizza place. It's still good enough. Just not many places to compare it too in the area either. Today I ordered a large pizza and it was easily a medium, for $22. The fried zucchini were lessened as well, into smaller cuts and at a higher price. I'm just not going to take the excuse of the pandemic inflation much longer. This location already is cutting their expenses by being closed on Tuesdays (random). And I likely won't be returning as often as I used to. It's just not worth it for the price really. read more

I hate to think this is what people view as good Italian food. Dry spaghetti noodles with dry frozen meatballs and some "marinara" lazily poured over the top. Pizza was average at best, the garlic cheese bread was the only item we ordered that was favorable. Pull the pasta one minute before it's done, finish cooking in sauce with the pasta water and a little butter. Same with the meatballs, sear in olive oil, finish in sauce. Do yourself a favor and drive 10 mins, to the galleria and go to Tony C's. Even Mandola's is better. read more

This is where my parents took me out to dinner while I was visiting town, as it is one of their local favorites. They even came for their recent anniversary. They thought it would be ideal for a family outing, and I have to agree! We came relatively early in the evening, so it wasn't crowded, so maybe that is part of the reason we received truly excellent service, but I doubt it. The server was especially attentive. He asked more than once how the food was, as did another staff member, and we never waited for refills on anything. He was prompt to make fresh coffee for my parents without a complaint, even though there are probably not many people requesting coffee on Sunday night. The food was delicious. One big bonus for me is that they cater to both vegan and vegetarian diets. I opted to have a vegetarian meal on this occasion with the veggie lasagna, but I am happy that I had the option of vegan cheese for a pizza if I wanted. The lasagna was decadently delicious - and the portion was huge! My mother had the meat lasagna, which she said was just as good (and also provided leftovers!), and my dad equally was happy with his chicken parmigiana. I am happy all around with the options and the quality of the food. They had also a decent wine, beer, and cocktail selection. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you have people of varying dietary needs (there are also gluten free options), and I will come back for sure! read more

We ordered the calzone which came out really juicy-not in a good way. The cremoso pasta was essentially all separate parts (the veggies, pasta and sauce) then layered on a plate. Resulting in no deep flavors-or on the verge of flavorless. We also ordered the buffalo wings. Nothing one way or the other. Spicy wasn't very spicy. Chicken was tender! the BLT salad was crunchy but waaaay too much bacon. House made blue cheese dressing did not disappoint. No hard feelings on this place - nothing personal at all. I just continue to be baffled as to how people can make mediocre Italian food. It's so very simple to create rich and complex flavors with very little ingredients when it comes to Italian food. We recently moved to Lakeway and have enjoyed the food from Mangieris. We mostly get pizza but have tried some salads and apps. The quality is always great, but we were super disappointed with our "large" pizza. A bit smaller than 14 inches which we thought we were getting (picture included). Anyways, it's good food just be prepared to order more than one "large" if you have to feed more than 1 hungry person. Large is a misnomer for the pizza we had. read more
