Found this spot on a Uber Eats and ordered half cheese half pepperoni and a caprese salad. Boo to Uber eats who took almost 2 hours to get and deliver it BUT it was amazing. Pizza has a delicious sauce and plentiful cheese. Great flavors and crust. Salad was just delicious. I will definitely go back I will just pick it up myself. Highly recommend giving this place a try.

We first heard about Esuki Esquites from a foodie on IG and thought it sounded like such a unique…read moreconcept, plus looked really delicious! It's the first build-your-own Esquites bowl we've ever seen, and the whole Mexican-Japanese fusion concept is such a creative (and delicious) twist. They have a small menu, which kinda makes it easier to decide, but the customization makes your options endless! You start by picking your base (Esquites, rice or 50/50), choose your protein, and then add your favorite toppings. We went with an Esquites bowl topped with jalapeños, jammy egg, and chicken al pastor -- everything was cooked perfectly (egg was jammy, chicken was juicy & flavorful). After trying the base with all esquites, we'll definitely be doing the half-rice/half-Esquites combo next time because we imagine the rice would soak up all the incredible juices and sauces. We also tried the Hirata Pork Belly bao (super meaty pork belly in the fluffiest bun -- very peanut-forward! We loved it, but would probably do a tad lighter on the sauce next time to keep the belly as the star of the show), the Chilangyosas aka gyozas (nutty, earthy, and kind of reminiscent of a chorizo paste -- one of our top bites), and the Strawberries & Cream dessert that completely surprised us in flavor. The strawberries are marinated in sugar and sake, with miso-cinnamon cream, mint, and ginger -- it's layered, refreshing, and unlike anything we've had before! It had way more depth of flavor then we anticipated! To top it off, the Fetch food park itself is super cute, with covered patio seating and a relaxed vibe. It's a husband and wife owned food truck. The wife greeted and served us that day and was incredibly friendly, and everything came out quickly and fresh! Overall its a tasty unique spot to check out for sure!

Also, this truck has…read moreonly been opened for one week so far, so I still consider them in a soft opening phase of the business. I got the traditional esquites, and I added pork belly (+$6.80) and salsa macha (+$1.90). The esquites themselves are pretty good, but it's hard to mess that up. I love that I can get esquites out here in this part of greater Austin now. The pork belly was so incredible tender, I literally exclaimed YUM out loud after my first bite. Seriously impressive pork belly 5/5! The salsa macha was nutty and tasty but I didn't detect any heat. Definitely a good addition to the dish though. My hesitation, and this would be my feedback for the business: the pricing is totally out of whack. The almost-$2 for a spoon of salsa and almost-$7 for 4 small slices of pork belly meant that my bowl of mostly corn cost almost $20. The product is good, and it's a unique concept, but the price is too high. Hopefully they will adjust pricing into the future because I want them to stay around. Trying this first dish has now also made me excited to try there other dishes (e.g. the gyoza and the fresas con crema).

Finally, today was the day and I sure wish I would have tried this place sooner. Since moving to Texas from Southern Cal, I haven't found many places that have what I would call authentic tacos. I keep trying hoping to find that place and I just might have. They are located in a small food truck court off 71. Easy parking and they have plenty of outdoor seating if you want to enjoy your tacos fresh. I only ordered "street tacos" with Adobada; I didn't have to wait long and I did take them to-go since I don't live very far. When I got home, they were still fresh and warm. They were prepared in fresh corn tortillas (they do also offer flour) and there is quite a bit of meat. They came with lime wedges and some red & green sauce. Given my experience with other taco locations, I wasn't expecting much. But my first bite... I was surprised at how delicious they are. Most places I have been to, the meat tastes as though it has been warming in a metal bin for awhile and lacks freshness. But this meat was very fresh and delicious. Squeeze a little lime and add some of the green sauce and these tacos are epic! I ordered three and thought for sure I would end up throwing one or two of them out. But after eating two of them, I saved the third for my daughter but was tempted to eat it too. If the tacos are this good... I am sure the rest of the food must be great. I have had tacos from a few places in downtown Austin that are good, but it's a far drive to get them regularly. It's nice to know the best tacos I have tried since coming to Texas is quite close to me. And between the tacos I have had in Austin and Ortega's, I would choose Ortega's any day. Although they provided red sauce, if you like really spicy... use the green sauce. Like finding good tacos, it has been difficult to find good spicy taco sauce but their green sauce is going to make you sweat a little. Although I waited years to try, I'm glad I finally tried Ortega's and I will be back soon.

Plus they need better social media visibility (e.g., no one's claimed them here on Yelp). It's a pity because their product is very credible. First, just the notion of combining crepes and bbq is compelling. Particularly if both can be brought off well. .?? In pursuit of an answer to that sorta question, we sampled a couple of their entrees recently. I could not possibly resist the brisket crepe. I mean WTF. What self respecting smoker chef guy could? I digress for a moment. Service at the window is hyper friendly and cordial. Including a mea culpa that the message system is undependable. Appropriate because it did. But, to their credit, the young woman at the window realized that and brought our order to our table INSIDE the bar. That's customer service. To the food. Their portions are embarrassingly generous. My brisket crepe was the size of a Subaru. The crepe itself was authentic and delicate but not flimsy. I'll be back to try their more conventional crepes to test the cook's skill. Meanwhile, the brisket was highly acceptable, moist and tender, with enough rendered fat to lend good flavor but not so much to be, well, fatty. Buddy's is up against a horde of brisket competitors in this vicinity. They hold their own quite well. I tried a bite of my companion's brisket sandwich in a ciabatta like bun just to calibrate, and it was unsurprisingly the same. I'm not as fond of Buddys bbq sauce, but, at least, they don't slather it on and thereby allow the brisket to stand on its own. I'm hoping Buddys overcomes the hidden location and ups their media game and hangs around for a good long time.
