I love when I get to write 5 star reviews. Lefty's pizza serves up the most delicious pizzas, salads, hot dogs, etc. We were delighted with our Buffalo Chicken & Hawaiian pizzas. They were so yummy with fresh ingredients, and cooked to perfection. We loved the service, the ambiance, and the timing of the food was spot on. This was a great family restaurant and we will definitely be back! Thank you Lefty's read more

Lefty's is the best pizza joint in Austin, period. Everyone talks about these other places around here and after trying them, I always leave disappointed as it doesn't compare to Boston, NYC, Chicago or LA where I've lived extensively or have visited frequently. Lefty's is always solid and the service from Elvira and others are top notch. You also can't beat their Tuesday deal either. read more

I attended a lunch here with about 20 friends recently. Overall, I think everyone was happy! They offer Chicago deep dish pizza as well as thin crust tavern style pizza. I didn't try the pizza because I ordered the Chicago beef sandwich with peppers (hold the cheese) and a side of fries. The hero bread was perfect and authentic. The sandwich was large but I managed to eat it all. I would definitely order it again. The restaurant is very casual. You walk up and order at the counter and they bring it out to your table. The ordering staff are helpful answering questions and making suggestions. They have lunch specials and other deals so be sure to ask. read more

Ingredients were fresh, the place was empty when we went on a Sunday. So the order came out pretty fast, the crust was slightly harder / 'crispy' than anticipated. I see that many people mentioned $2 per topping can make the price of a pizza increase quickly. To me the pizza was not memorable, I was adding salt to my pizza which is not common when it comes to seasonings read more

Chicago Beef sandwich with great crinkled fries, pan (deep dish) pizza. Good bread/crust and sauce.

The pizza here is so good. Crispy crust, high quality cheese and fresh veggies. And bomb sausage. Loved the friendly staff and atmosphere. And try the spinach salad (I heard it's even better when you add pepperoni! read more

This is probably the closest to hometown Chicago style pizza we have found in Austin area. I think would have been even better dining in vs take out (we live about 20 mins away... found this on Price com site with a cash back offer / will be going again with or without, glad for the offer that drove discovery as was outside my normal drive for takeout range. Place was nice to hangout in and staff friendly, service good. read more

Great restaurant with fresh food and excellent service. The wings and Roast Beef are absolutely delicious! My go to spot in Bee Cave!!

Don't use with DoorDash. Inconsistently not good. Better customer service and better pricing would go a long way. read more

I tried Lefty's based on a recommendation. Clearly, we trusted the wrong review. The 10-inch hot honey pepperoni and jalapeño pizza was greasy, and the crust tasted like cardboard. The cheese pizza and wings weren't any better. Even the ranch was flavorless. We spent $65 before tip, and we're throwing it all out. I won't be back. read more

Well this was a bust in every way. Tried to call and order and could only speak to AI which was annoying, but I figured only an incredibly busy place would have that. I should have thought "incredibly profitable". Two years ago the 12" thin crust bbq chicken pizza was $15 less than it is now and food inflation was significantly higher in 2023 than they now. More importantly, after trying to deal with their AI phone service after three failed attempts, I decided to order via Slice App (at least they offer 10% off!). We opted for pick up so we could get it when it was FRESHLY out of the oven and arrived to the store before the pizza was ready with that in mind. They told us it'd be about 5 minutes until it was ready. At the time there was ONE other customer in there waiting for a to go order who was given his food not a minute or two after they told us 5 minutes. NOT ONE OTHER PERSON ENTERED THE STORE. They didn't seem to be getting any other orders either as everyone starting cleaning and things like that. Finally after 15 minutes just seconds before I got up to ask one of the 3-4 workers there when our pizza would be ready, someone walked over and asked what the name on our order was and when I gave it turns out it the was to go order I watched them put on the rack very shortly after we sat down to wait. By the time we got home only 8 minutes away the pizza was hard and barely lukewarm. Not to mention it was also cut in squares despite the order and receipt very clearly stating triangle cut. And the pizza was really only okay in taste. I wasted $40 tonight for nothing. Really disappointed. read more

My husband and I moved to Austin from Chicago a few years ago and have been on the hunt for good Chicago style pizza in Austin. This place is legit! We got the pan pizza and the crust is similar to Peaquods (Chicagoans will know what this is.) The sauce is so flavorful and the dough is the perfect consistency. This was so good and brought back such happy memories that we wanted to meet the owners and personally thank them. We will definitely be back! Thank you! read more

Pizza was good but prices are very expensive for what you get. Prefer Via313!!! Spinach salad was god but they dumped too many cranberries! read more

Pepperoni tasted like smoked meat, not a fan. My parents liked the pepperoni though. Way over priced & not as good. $5 for a topping is outrageous. Also, they don't know how to 'pie cut'. My dad is pretty upset about wasting his money on this place. Save your money and go to Jersey's Giant Pizza. read more

Pizza was incredibly overpriced. Phone orders through AI is a hassle and system has never gotten order right. Won't return because of a computer messups and not because of the actual employees. Unfortunate read more

I get this pizza at least once every two weeks, often once a week. Its chicago style so if thats not your favorite type of pizza then try their thin crusts which are to die for. We love the bbq chicken pizza and my kids devour a cheese. Great restaurant, super helpful and responsive staff, when I order pickup the pizza is ready right on time and hasnt been sitting for hours. Cant say enough good things about this place. read more

I'm surprised people recommend this place. Clearly frozen crust. We specifically ordered pizza vs buying frozen at the store and basically got the same thing for a lot more $$$. We won't be back. read more

Once a week kind of vibes. Best in the Austin area, hands-down. There's really no competition. Hidden gem tucked away from 71 in the ravine, make sure to follow Google Maps or Waze. I had a thin crust BBQ chicken that was on point. The fries are this nicely seasoned crinkle cut and giant. I'll be back to try official Chicago style. I was afraid I'd be food comatose. Run, don't walk. read more

Frustratingly inconsistent. Paid $3 for onions on pizza tonight which is ridiculous to begin with and they left off - and not the first time this has happened. Come on guys. read more

I'm originally from Chicago, live right around the corner in Sweetwater, and come here about once a week. Without a doubt, this is the best thin crust pizza I've had in a long while. Usually, however, I order the Italian beef, but I order the juice on the side because I don't think they know that "dipped" means literally dunked into the juice. Good place, recommended. read more

Love Lefty's Pizza, when it first opened I was excited about their deep dish pizza which is great, but the Chicago Style tavern pizza is one of my favorite, if not my favorite pizza in the area. Had their version of BBQ chicken pizza last night and it is the best BBQ chicken pizza I have had. Lefty's is great because they employ a lot of the high school kids, which is a great way to connect with the community. There is a great selection of local beers, and the service has always been friendly. I have never eaten at the restaurant because I live so close, but they have TVs to watch the game. The menu has more than pizza, but I haven't tried any of those items, still can't figure out how I haven't had the fried ravioli yet. Give Lefty's a try you won't be disappointed. read more

OMG - Great pizza! Especially if you want deep dish. Best I have had in Austin. It is seated to service neighborhoods which are kind of separated from downtown where my favorite places are located so I am really really grateful Lefty's is there to make me feel more at home after moving further away from downtown! read more

Son wanted pizza for his birthday so swing by here. It wasn't for me. Wasn't a fan of the taste of the crust on the thin crust. We did half cheese half Italian sausage. Also for $14 fried pickles, there wasn't much breading on half of them. Paid $50 for large pizza, fried pickles, and 1 beer. Service was friend and food came out in a reasonable time. Just wasn't a fan of the taste. read more

Staff was friendly. Food was pretty good too. I don't believe it's strict Chicago style but i left like it was a cross between a Detroit style crust and the bite of a New Jersey Sicilian slice (soft, airy and doughy). It's also more of a casual spot like the type of place you bring your kid's baseball team to after a game rather than a formal sit down. Great addition to Hill Country and rooting for it. read more

Pizza and taste is crap. Between the wings and pizza and price, absolutely absurd! Service and order process amazing. I have nothing against them, but $112 dollars for 2 12 " pizzas and wings that are drier than a west Texas sand storm and one order of fries that was soggier than an east Texas swamp, could have fed a whole family somewhere else with a whole lot more flavor! Like I said service all that was on point, just with the rest was trash at that price point ! read more

This place is so convenient to my house. I really want to love it but two problems: the crust doesn't have much flavor beneath the "caramlization" (sugar) and the topping add ons are more expensive than other pizza places. Needs more combo options. read more

So it's kinda deep dish. But it is definitely delish and the staff is fantastic. Let's keep these guys growing!

I love Lefty's. I think the flavor of the pizza is great- the sauce and the ingredients I've tried. We also enjoy the chicken wings and salads. It is definitely more expensive than many-- but there is good reason for that IMO, and the deep dish is far more filling than a thin crust. read more

Heard great things about this place from a friend so I made the 40 minute trip from Austin to check it out and it was well worth it. I'm typically not a fan of Chicago style pizza since what I'm familiar with are the ones with the huge thick crust and sauce on top. The Chicago pan pizza here at Lefty's was not like that at all. I'd say it's a cross between a Detroit deep dish and Chicago style and it's possibly my new favorite pizza. The crust is caramelized and crispy on the edges and slightly thicker but still crispy and not overly doughy on the bottom. The ingredients were all great quality as well. The store seemed pretty busy with constant orders but they were mostly take out so plenty of seating inside. Pizza took about 20 minutes to come out. At first I thought the pizza was overpriced for $30 for a 14in, but it's a hefty pizza. I was full after two slices so this could easily be split with 2-4 people. I'd recommend checking this place out! read more

Excellent pizza and salad we carried out so can't comment on service That's all bye bye

Jesse, a SMALL, thin crust personal sized pepperoni pizza (10 inch) for in store pickup comes to $19.65 - So, 20(!) dollars for a baby pizza. Doesn't that tell you enough? And that doesn't include tip. How about this, how about I make that a supreme type of pizza and add onions, sausage, black olives and bell peppers. The total for that tiny personal pizza? $30(!) Oh and let's not forget the tip, right? Don't want a thin crust? Then how about a 10 inch Pan supreme style? $34...let's add a 15% tip for your staff: $38.56(!) For your smallest pizza!! I see you had a 7 inch pizza?? Where'd that go?? Just go to VIA 313 - you can get a same size Pan pie, for $20 with all of the toppings. Via 313 isn't a Dominoes or Pizza Hut, so, according to your response, how does Via 313 have apparently "better purchasing power" than Lefty's?? You're obviously doing something wrong and you're passing that ignorance on to the consumer/customer. Unfortunately, I don't see this place lasting another year... read more

I grew up in the Chicago area, I was surrounded by the best Italian food and Pizza in the country, I'm sorry all you thin crusters but a Chicago Deep Dish happens to be my favorite, although I just recently visited Chicago and re-tried some of the big names in Chicago and I have to say I was disappointed how the big boys downtown have changed over the years and it is just not the same as it was 30 - 40 years ago. Lefty's is my new Top Spot and the family and I are so glad we now live nearby. read more

Gave them 2 stars for trying. We Just ate here, 10 in pizza and an Italian beef sandwich 65$. Pizza alone 10 inch for $32.95. The pizza was right out of the oven but slightly warm when they brought it out, almost cold. The sauce and sausage was good but the veggies weren't cooked. The sandwich had little flavor and the peppers were like roasted instead of cooked in the beef juice, if you want a Chicago style beef sandwich go to a grocery store and buy Italian roast beef, it will have more flavor. The staff were nice, but this is maybe a "Texas" Chicago Style beef and pizza place...I was born/raised in Chicago, so this doesn't cut it as as "Chicago style", but again, ok for trying. read more

First off, YUM! Secondly, if you are a native Chicagoan then let me preface this by saying this is NOT PEQUODS like or anywhere close to PEQUODS. To my fellow Reddit users who may have said it was because they were told the owner worked at a brother/sister pizza place called Bert's -- it's not.. This joint, however, is delicious and specializes in its own style of pan pizza. We had a pan style pepperoni pizza, as well as a thin cheese pizza. The thin pizza was devoured instantly and of course the pan can fill one up rather quickly so even taking some home and reheating it made it even better because it could have used a bit more oven time (a bit more well done) in my opinion and liking without it being burnt. Another fantastic note to mention about the pan is that it DOES NOT use huge chunks of tomato in the sauce which is great because I hate when sauces are like that. I do think in comparison to Chicago style pizzas though that the sauce used is just a bit more sweet than normal but ughh it's so close to being perfection as far as sauce to dough ratio and taste (again comparing to Chicago's well known pizza ) . If you are in the area it's worth the stop and if it's not too far away or you don't mind making the drive like we did it's worth checking out! We enjoyed it and will come back again when we are near by to try and have some more! ! Thanks for a taste of Chicago Lefty's! read more

Great pizza, the tavern style reminds me of mid-west square cut which has been hard to come by in TX. Highly recommend getting it "crispy" as the middle is usually soften and cooking it a bit longer helps keep it crunchy. read more
