    Salmon special, so good!!
    Melissa R.

My significant other and I had lunch at Artemis for the first time a couple of days ago. We had wanted to have a nice lunch date, but time got away from us, so I took to Yelp to find a restaurant nearby so we could at least have a good meal, even if at a casual restaurant. When we arrived at Artemis, I was pleased to find that Artemis looked more upscale than it did in the pictures I saw. Again, we were hungry so we weren't expecting nice ambiance, only good food, but we got both! I ordered the salmon special, and it was amazing! It was light, creamy, and citrusy... and those mashed potatoes with feta and spinach, divine! My significant other got a bowl with ahi tuna and also really enjoyed it, to the point that he wanted to return to Artemis last night, which we did! Last night, we ordered a variety of things, and were pleased to discover that they have a small kids menu. Everything we had was again delicious, but what most stood out to me were the lentil soup and the seasoned fries. They were so flavorful! The service both times was great. We were happy with the friendly staff. I think we'll definitely be returning if and when we find ourselves in this area again.

Service was a little slow a couple times we've been here, but we really love the food and enjoy coming here. It's a nice restaurant with a nice bar, friendly servers we enjoy it

In A Nutshell: -This is a nice neighborhood restaurant for decent Mediterranean food. -I enjoyed their Herb Oven Roasted Chicken which came w/ small potatoes & baby carrots. -The Mezze sampler is highly recommended. -The falafel, dolmas, hummus, babba ghanoush, tzaziki and tabbouleh, served with pita bread, olives, and pepperoncinis were superb. Overall, this place seemed to be popular w/ the locals.

We came here during Happy Hour and ordered the falafels, lamb gyro, & a chicken gyro. The service was friendly but they did send out the wrong appetizers, so for future reference the fried pickles looked good, but they belonged to someone else. I wasn't a fan of the falafels, they were not very flavorful compared to other falafels we have had. However the experience was redeemed by the best seasoned fries I have ever had! I normally just order them as a side and don't pay much attention but these fries were so good that I would order them by themselves. Both gyros were both very good and flavorful! We will definitely be returning for those fries and I want to check out the baklava.

    Gyro plate & gyro wrap!

My husband and I just moved to lakeway and we found this place spontaneously after stopping by Lowe's! We were both blown away & will 100% be returning frequently. We both ordered traditional lamb gyro dishes. It was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. The staff is super attentive and friendly. We sat outdoors which had some ambiance with the string lights and melodic music playing which was a major bonus!

This is one of my girlfriend's favorite monthly haunts. She always gets the house Salad with Gyros. I met her here once before and we sat at the bar. Great service! Great food! Today I met her here once again and we sat in the middle of the room. They have a large patio on the side as well as a pretty dining room with a small bar area. I ordered a lavender lemonade with half unsweetened tea which was OK. Not as lemony as expected. Next we tried the dolmas. They eere fresh had a sweet lemon sauce with crunchy raw red onion. The flavor was good but the grape leaves were a bit tough, unfortunately. Next she had a Gyros Plate and I had a Lamb Souvlake plate. Both were really good. Mine came with a garlic dip that was really good. The lamb is cooked to order and came out a perfect medium, as requested. It was overall very good with a few minor adjustments needed in the preparations. Service, again, was really good and attentive. Bonus points for the on the house to-go drinks offered after the paid bill.

My wife and I stopped in on Christmas Eve after church. The restaurant was somewhat busy, staff greeted us at the door and sat us. We ordered pita/ hummus, Greek Salad and a Lamb Gyro. Everything was delicious! Absolutely delicious! We split the lamb gyro so they cut it and served on a couple plates. Staff were great, the ambiance was nice and we'll definitely be coming back.

Delicious food! Love the variety of vegetarian options. We got the Falafel burger (cut in half) with Greek salad, along with Veggie Pita with fries. The burger was great, and the fries were seasoned well. Service was good. Recommend this place to anyone!

We were starving on our road trip and googled Mediterranean near us. This place seemed promising with reviews and being close by. Walking in, we were greeted instantly. There was two tables already eating. Our waiter took a moment to actually get to us, we ordered. For the most part the service was good. I'd say 3.5/5. Our kids got the kids spaghetti and pita cheese pizza. We ordered the chicken and rice soup, fried cheese and falafels as an appetizer. The kids liked their dishes. The falafels were decent, a tad overcooked. They definitely tasted better with the sauce served with the gyro plate vs the tahini sauce it came with. They tasted burnt and not good with the tahini sauce. At first we thought it was hummus, but it wasn't. The cheese appetizer was good. But we've definitely had it better at other places. And for that price of $15 it wasn't worth it. My husband got the gyro plate and I the lamb kabobs. The gyro was the best thing we had. Great flavor. My lamb kabobs were cooked great just lacking flavor. The rice was not tasty in one bit. Whatever spices they added did not merry and there was no salt. I did enjoy the garlic sauce, but again it needed salt. For the price point at this restaurant and what you actually get, it's definitely overpriced. The quality and flavor profiles do not match the price.

The salmon special was delicious. The vegan options seemed limited for a restaurant, though the ambience was great

We ordered the half order falafel with hummus, mint lemonade, lamb kabob platter, and beef kabob platter. Everything but the salad came in large Texas style portions. I requested the beef be cooked to medium and the temperature was perfect. Tips: Substitute the tahini in the kabob platters for tzatziki and request garlic sauce on the side. The garlic sauce enhances the flavor of rice.

However, I'll think about coming here again because I didn't feel a good vibe with the service. We had to go look for someone to show us the table even though the place was empty for early lunch. Then, to get drinks or even the order was a problem. It took so much longer than usual. Our waitress was rude, and seemed bothered that we showed up. Then someone else came as the waitress and she was preoccupied with other tables and barely checked on us. A regular lunch which would've been one hour became almost two because of the lack of service. My friend had to stand and look for someone to give us a box to take out the good we couldn't eat because it was getting late and also to get the check because No one came in to check on us at all. It was almost like pulling teeth to get a regular service let alone good service. Again, the food was really good, and that alone was the only positive.

I'd heard Yamas was…read morethe best Greek spot in town, so my brother, my daughter, and I decided to see if it lived up to the hype. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had been transported to a little taverna on a Greek island. The crisp white walls, iconic blue window frames and shutters, and charming atmosphere immediately set the tone. Even more impressive was the hospitality. From the hostess to our server, and even the owner stopping by our table, everyone embodied the warm, welcoming Greek hospitality I grew up with. The appetizer menu was so tempting that we wished we had ten stomachs. We settled on the octopus, spanakopita, saganaki, keftedes, and a horiatiki salad, and I'm so glad we did. The octopus was cooked perfectly, tender and seasoned with excellence. The spanakopita was beautifully flaky with a satisfying crunch, and the filling was rich and flavorful. The tzatziki was incredibly fresh and honestly some of the best I've had in a long time. The biggest surprise of the night was the saganaki served with fig jam. I never would have thought those flavors belonged together, but they absolutely did. It was a standout dish. The keftedes were also fantastic, juicy, well-seasoned, and packed with flavor. For our entrées, we ordered the pastitsio, gouvetsi, and chicken souvlaki. While the appetizers truly stole the show, the main courses didn't quite reach the same level. We did arrive close to closing time, so that may have played a role. The pastitsio had great flavor overall, and the béchamel was beautifully prepared, but some of the pasta was a bit firm, and I personally would have loved a touch more cinnamon. The gouvetsi had excellent texture, but it was a little too salty for my taste, but that didn't stop my daughter from devouring it. The chicken souvlaki was unfortunately on the dry side and a bit tough. Even with those minor disappointments, I'd absolutely return. The menu is filled with so many traditional Greek comfort foods that I'd love to come back and explore more of what they have to offer. The appetizers alone are worth the visit, and the atmosphere and genuine hospitality made the experience feel like a little taste of Greece right here in Austin. If you're looking for authentic Greek flavors, a beautiful setting, and genuine (Greek hospitality), Yamas is definitely worth adding to your Austin dining list.
