This was my very first visit to Schlotzsky's and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. As soon as I walked in, I noticed the Cinnabons right at the front, which immediately caught my attention because I absolutely love Cinnabons. The restaurant itself was very clean and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. One of the employees recommended the bacon sandwich, which came with turkey, cheese, and lettuce. It was served with chips, a drink, and a big crunchy pickle on the side, which made it feel like a really complete lunch. My first impression of the bread was interesting because it's something I've never had before. The bread is very thick and hearty, so if you're not used to thicker bread on a sandwich, that's something to know. Personally, I thought it was very tasty and it added a lot to the sandwich. Overall, the meal was inexpensive and made for a pretty decent lunch. Because of the thicker bread it may not be for everyone, but I still enjoyed it. For that reason I'm giving them a solid 4-star rating today. Who knows... I might just come back later for seconds! read more

Ordered a kids turkey with no cheese pickles added, received no pickles and sandwich had cheese. Ordered a medium turkey avocado on jalapeño bread with added Swiss cheese($2.00 extra) received sandwich on regular bread with no Swiss. And to top it off my kiddos meal came with a cookie. we received a cookie the size of a half dollar! easily 3x smaller then what is advertised. This was ordered in house as take out. I had not been to a Schlotzsky's in several years. From what I recall, the sandwiches were always off the charts good. My experience returning to Schlotzsky's after several year Hiatus was somewhat disappointing. The bread was not as fresh as I had recalled. The ingredients in general were somewhat Bland. The restaurant was not overly busy when I visited, but it's still took quite a while to get my sandwich. Also, the fountain drinks tasted flat. The inside was well maintained and pleasant. read more

I am not comparing Schlotzsky's to gourmet sandwich shops but comparing it to any other national sandwich chain. They're simply the best, at least in Texas. I've been to Schlotzsky's in other states and they're not that great. But in Texas, you can always count on fresh bread and a good, filling sandwich. My go-to sandwich is The Original Deluxe, which has ham, two types of salami, mozzarella, Parmesan, and cheddar cheeses. You can also get the bread of any sandwich swapped out for cheddar jalapeño, which I usually do. This location has a Cinnabon attached as well, although I've never been hungry after finishing a Schlotzsky's sandwich. read more

Came to this location while working on this side of town. First and foremost, it was an online order and I picked it up. I was extremely disappointed that sweet tea wasn't available. They sweet tea container was empty. When asked if there was more I was told "No." When right in front of me there was a gallon of sweet tea that could have been used. I proceeded to get another drink and tried Cherry Coke, Cherry Dr. Pepper, and to my luck both were unavailable. I got stuck with an orange flat Fanta. This entire ordeal was disappointing as I love their sweet tea & in my opinion probably the best sweet tea. My dinner was pretty much ruined by this point. Especially when you work really hard and just want a decent meal with your favorite drink. I did leave them a survey and expressed my concerns and the manager reached out to only apologize. I wanted to see and try this new location ever since I read about the concept change for Schlotzsky's. So today I was in the area and ventured out to find it. Located in a new shopping center off of FM 620. The first thing I noticed was new logo signage with the words "Austin Eatery". When you walk inside you get surrounded with the best of Austin like murals, retro signage, reclaimed wood decor, and outdoor seating. The menu seems to be the same but with new food choices. They also serve beer on tap and wine. As for myself I ordered a new item and chips for takeout. The staff was nice and friendly and checked out the upgraded decor. Soon my order was ready and unfortunately when I got home my chips were missing. The Tuscan sandwich tasted very good and a little messy but did not care. It was made with roasted turkey, bacon, Swiss and chunks of avocado on a toasted bun. Not surprised the chips were missing where it does happen once in a while at other eateries too. I've been enjoying Schlotzsky's yummy unique sourdough hugged sandies for as long as I can remember. They were "Born and bread" in Austin in 1971 (SoCo), and have decided to take their menu (and overall feel) to a whole new level with the addition of their "Austin Eatery" in Bee Cave. Don't fret, they still have the classics like the Original (and nom soups), but have added a plethora of items inspired by the ATX food scene. So it's no surprise that SAE offers tacos and delicious brisket sliders. "D They've added an extensive choice of sandwiches (hello "Bacon Me Crazy"), flatbreads, salads, and "tins" (think cheesy mac or tot bowls). The interior is bright and fun. Cool décor and interior bright signage that's sure to pop up on social media sites everywhere (see pic). They offer a few Texas craft beer and cider selections and wine, and plan on having live music in the future. So happy to have SAE concept store in the Lake Travis area. This location is generally very good. At Peak times, it can be busy, and there is what feels like it unnecessary weight. We were so excited to hear that Schlotzsky's was opening an eatery in Bee Cave! We tried to go for Texas Independence Day but the crowd was too big. So we went for lunch this past week. We got there at the perfect time, about 11:30 AM, just before their big lunch rush. I decided to try the street tacos and had one of each type. My hubby went with his usual medium fresh veggie on a jalapeño cheddar bun. The tacos were delicious! I especially liked the saucy check with its delicious sauce and guacamole, but the other two meat tacos were also delicious. Be aware that they are not huge, and three make a light lunch for me. As always, my husband loved his fresh veggie and poured on the Schlotzsky's hot sauce and olive oil. This Schlotzsky's also features a vegetable bar with pickles, banana peppers, and pickled onions for patrons to add to their food. They were all very good. A month ago, I found a hard jagged shard of plastic in my sandwich. I then asked them to stop food service to find the problem and give me a refund. I got a refund, but the food continued to be served. The manager said "we don't have nothing like that in our kitchen". I reached out to the corporate office the same day and got a response from the Director of Operations 17 days later claiming that they "take food safety very seriously" and "resolve any issues when they arise", but he made no indications that anything had been done to mitigate extremely dangerous contaminants in their food. I offered to meet with him and go over the whole situation 9 days ago, but have been ignored in the same way they seem to ignore food safety. Please check your food before eating or avoid dining at this Schlotzsky's location. read more

Don't bother ordering there. I ordered a giant pastrami sandwich as a treat. They don't have rye bread. It comes on white bread they didn't add sauerkraut, they didn't add thousand island dressing, and the amount of meat on the sandwich was about 2 ounces. It was pretty pitiful. And since it was with DoorDash even though I got Schlotzsky's to refund the money I still was out 12 bucks. Waste of time don't order sandwiches there. They don't deliver anything that looks at all like what you ordered. Waste of time. One star is too much. read more

Attended the soft opening...and WOW! This restaurant is not the Schlotzky's you've been going to for years. Yes, they have many of your favorites. And wonderful new items like Street tacos, brisket sliders, brisket Mac-n-cheese & cheesy bacon tots. And beer & wine. The new menu is an homage to Austin & Schlotzky's roots. Chef Maira Morales carefully created the menu to be fresh & fun with twists on many traditional Austin staples. The decor is colorful & quirky & very Austin. It's nice having the place that sells serious sandwiches with a funny name nearby. I like that they have gluten-free buns and tons of options here. I ordered a salad to go and when I got home and opened it up - they gave me ranch (I specifically asked for the raspberry vinaigrette on the side) and no cheese. There were cheese crumbles on top of soggy, wilted lettuce that was slimy, along with the chicken. The worst was when I opened the salad a BUG flew out!!! GROSS! I did not eat my salad. So you take the reliably awesome Schlotzky's food, you put it in a nice upscale sit down type atmosphere, add pretty hip decor. Its a win for Schlotzky's I think. I've been back and will return in the future. I knocked one star for pushing my button though. If you're taking orders and on the iphone at the same time at least get the order correct. These types of issues tend to resolve themselves though. Give it a try I bet you'll be surprised. July 23, 2018 - As I suspected the issue resolved. Been back a few times since and have noticed that Plastic Surgery Barbie is no longer there. The staff now are A+. If you went before and swore never to return because of your interaction... My husband and I went to this Schlotzsky's on a Friday afternoon. We ordered 2 pizzas at the corner. Our pizza was ready in about 10 minutes. My second slice of pizza had something really hard in it. I removed the item from my mouth then my husband and I examined the hard as a rock item. We have no idea what the hard item was. It hurt my teeth on my left side for a few minutes. I was kind-of scared to eat any more. I did not want anyone else to get that in their pizza so I took the item to the corner. Two employees looked at the item and one said 'I do not know what it is and we are sorry'. That is it. It would have been nice to know that they were going to take some of kind of action but no. The restaurant is new and has modern decor. There is lots of inside and outside dining. There are electric plugs and UBS plugs at each inside table. The inside dining room was a nice temperature.
