Subs at Firehouse are nothing like at other sub places, at least not like most of them. The subs are delicious and flavorful, the bread is fresh, the chicken is tender and the veggies are crisp. They seem to have enough choices to please everybody and they donate to the fire department. To top it all they also have a loyalty program that rewards free subs after you have ordered a 10+. Sometimes they have Garlic bread as an option and We love it. Its one of our go to places and will remain that way.

    Hook & Ladder.

I paid $1.75 for bacon, & this is what I got. Bread was soggy even though I had just ordered it. Maybe 7 chopped pickles I added. Not asking for world's best (or I wouldn't have ordered from here) but it's not a lot to expect an edible, more-than-half-ass sandwich for $13.54.

The Italian is full of meat! Yummy!!

I am always greeted when I walk in, and the staff has been consistently friendly during my visits. They seem to genuinely care about customer service. I use the app frequently and rarely have issues with my orders. On the rare occasion something is missed, they fix it quickly without hassle. Parking can be tight near the door during lunch rush since it shares the lot with Starbucks, but I have never had trouble finding a spot within reasonable walking distance. It is a minor inconvenience at worst. The dining area is small and gets busy at lunch, but that is to be expected for a popular sandwich spot in this area. The food is exactly what you'd expect from Jimmy John's--fresh, fast, and freaky good. And of course, free smells!

Move over Fresa's!! There's a new chick in town!…read more Not only are the ingredients fresh, you can taste the quality! We were shopping in Bee Cave and got hungry, so I went to Yelp to discover this cute little place. I did learn that they are mainly a "take away" model hence the play on words "picnic" on their name. But there are a few tables and bar counter that you can dine in. We ordered a bit of food- 1. Half roasted chicken 2. Hot wings 3. Roasted Beets 4. Kale side salad 5. Fun selection of NE brand beers! Yes they have wine and unique beer selection there! The roasted chicken was definitely brined- it was super juicy and the chimichurri and salsa complimented it wonderfully. It was explained to me the chicken were free range and how they are raised humanely, reminded me of an episode in a tv series- Portlandia that made me chuckle. The hot wings... Buffalo style but not like at Anchor Bar.. still amazing in its own right. Fresh (I mean there were zero dry spots on carrots and celery and it was crunchy fresh that even me, the non-celery lover- ate 4 sticks with their tasty homemade ranch sauce. (I think it was the ranch dressing bc I literally licked the bowl clean) The roasted beets were served cold with feta cheese crumbles, mint and pistachios. I could eat that by itself as a meal! Yummy! Now, I usually hate kale. Only like it roasted. But I can eat Chicknic's Kale side salad all day long. It contains roasted cauliflower, pickled red onion and a mountain of pumpkin and sunflower seeds! (Maybe that's why I like it so much??) All washed down with a brown ale beer you find in the NE. While we were dining, several people came by to pick up their to go orders and there is a fun freezer where they sell delicious take aways like chicken soup and their famous chicken pot pie, chicken crepes, chicken enchiladas... oh did I mention this is a great place if you're on a keto diet or gluten free restriction?!?? I also found if you follow their Facebook page, you can see new menu items or transparency of how they run their business. What you waiting for? Give this place a try and support local!

The soup was light but really flavorful, just comforting and done right. I also ordered the black pepper and salt chicken wings, and honestly, these are some of my favorites anywhere. I love chicken wings and try them all over, and these are definitely at the top of my list. I got the crispy egg noodle dish with tofu (that's just my preference), and it was so good. You can add chicken, beef, or seafood if you want, but the tofu was delicious and really hit the spot. One thing I always notice is how welcoming this place is. I was seated right away, and the staff is just genuinely friendly. They treat you like family, which makes a big difference. I come here a lot--especially when I don't feel like cooking, I'm in a hurry, or just getting back into town and want something I know will be good. The food always feels fresh, with lots of vegetables, and just overall really satisfying. Definitely a 5-star spot for me. I'll keep coming back. The menu falsely lists many items as gluten-free and they know it but haven't fixed it for months. We ordered food based on my sister's recommendation and strong Yelp reviews. It turns out that if you have celiac disease, you should RUN AWAY. Their online menu, which is the only way to do a take out order, lists many, many items as gluten-free which was awesome, especially since some of the items can be difficult to find gluten free. We ordered the spring rolls, salad, salt and pepper tofu, and salt and pepper shrimp, all of which are listed as GF. The spring rolls were delicious and we were impressed since we thought they were making the pork gluten free. The salad had fried wonton strips all over them so that was no longer an option, and we skipped that for the entrees. We expected there would be some softening of the crispness due to it being in a closed container. But they weren't even fried at the right temperature and we had chewy, uncooked batter in parts of the shrimp, while the some of the tofu pieces were overcooked and had burn spots. Although disappointing, it wasn't the worst takeout we've ever had. Until about 8 hours later. For the next 6 hours, it was severe cramps and diarrhea. We called the restaurant the next day to ask about any cross contamination. It turns out that the online menu DOES NOT accurately list what is and is not GF, and NOTHING we ordered was GF. The pork is made with regular soy sauce, the batter isn't GF, and everything fried goes in the same fryer. The young man apologized and we could tell he sincerely felt bad, but we were shocked at how unconcerned the management was about the accuracy of allergen information and how long it had been wrong. They didn't even offer to comp the meal after causing such a severe illness. It's been 6 days and still things aren't back to normal yet. Food allergies can be life threatening and they shouldn't be so casual about it. This restaurant should be shut down until they update their entire menu to reflect allergens correctly. The only reason the food got a 2/5 rating was because the non-GF people said their food was fine.

With a side of salad and Garlic bread. Everything was good and tasty. The noodles were fresh, thick, and different. However, it was super salty. Did I pick the wrong sauce perhaps or was the chef a bit heavy handed on the salt? 5. Cleanliness - Dining area was outdoors in the back on a cold day. Good thing they had a heating lamp near by. They managed their tables well. No dirty plates lingering around. Restrooms were not bad either. Small, but clean. SUMMARY It's great that they make fresh noodles, but $20+ for a plate of noodles is a bit much. Overly paying for salty food, I rather go to a chain Italian restaurant. Not worth the hype in my opinion.

The food is consistently good, and most of the staff have always been incredibly sweet, welcoming, and helpful. That said, we had a really disappointing experience during our last visit that felt worth sharing. A younger female employee with a long dark ponytail brought our food over, I think she was a food runner - but she wasn't wearing the Vivel branded t shirt like the other employees. When my husband politely asked for ketchup, she visibly rolled her eyes before bringing it. When I then asked if I could please have a knife (I'm seven months pregnant, for context), she started to walk to get one, took two steps, turned back and said "you can go get it yourself". It felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive, especially given how quiet the café was at the time. We stayed for a while after and watched her standing by the counter organizing utensils, so it wasn't a matter of being too busy. We really like this place and will continue coming back, but this interaction stood out in a negative way and didn't reflect the level of service we've experienced before.
