The service was good. But the food was terrible. The belgium waffles are a diabetic's worst nightmare. There were 80% sugar, 70% of which was not dissolved. This sugar was not just dumped on the waffle, the sugar was the main ingredient of the waffle. It was basically a sugar Instead of a waffle, I was eating a crunchy sugar thing. At least the 2 eggs I ordered were okay. Everything was ala carte, and very expensive. Another restaurant I will never go. read more

We love Austin Tea Xchange! It's seriously the best tea ever! My personal favorite is the peach tea -- it's so good! They also have amazing food with lots of organic options. I have used Austin Tea Exchange several times for catering and they are absolutely amazing! The food quality and presentation is second to none! My guests absolutely love the lasagna, salads, chaureterie boards, skewers, etc. Ordering is easy and the owner Kamila is amazing to work with. 4.5* Menu has a pretty wide variety, but sometimes you're looking up and down between the counter and board up top. The counter blackboard menu probably has a couple of specials featuring seasonal ingredients. Then when you get to the register there's another special of the day that wasn't featured anywhere else (and was blocked by other patrons standing in front of you). Not much of a service here, you pay first and then choose your seat. Weekday mornings are quite busy too with lots of ladies from workouts or just catching up. There's a small nook on the other side of the wall where you deposit your leftovers/dirty dishes. Pricing is reasonable for trying to eat healthier. If you choose to collect points, it's also fairly easy to get a cash credit quickly. read more

The guy rang us up at the cash register, then used his bare hands to scoop apples out of the bin and put them into our cups for tea. This tea and sandwich shop is located on the south side of 71 in the Hill Country Galleria section of Bee Cave. It's a pleasant, quiet and comfortable spot to break from shopping in the Galleria area. Think sandwiches, a selection of salads, some coffees and a wide selection of tea options. As it was lunch, we opted for two salads. I can testify to the spinach salad. Extremely fresh ingredients, as you would expect. The spinach wasn't the washed out, limp ordinary variety. It was pungent without being intrusive, as were all the toppings. They must make their own blood orange dressing, as it was uniquely flavorful and added to (rather than masked) the other flavors. Goat cheese also very fresh. You might say that 'a salad is a salad' and not much worthy of a review, but that's not the case here. They obviously take care and pride in their offerings, and that's charming. It's counter service, so it's hard to say much about that, except that it's inviting. The ambience is understated and, as I said, QUIET. Which is more than I can say for practically every other Bee Cave lunch venue. read more
