I had some time to kill so I finally stopped by Summer Moon Coffee. I ordered one of their signature lattes: the Half Moon Latte which has half the serving of sweet cream, a shot of espresso, and skim milk. I like that it had just a touch of sweetness. I'm interested in trying the Quarter Moon Latte the next time I stop by just to see if I like that ratio of espresso, skin milk, and sweet cream even better. I also picked up a croissant. Overall good drinks, great customer service, good wifi, gets pretty busy Summer moon's specialty is their moon milk, which is just sweet cream. If you like sweet drinks/have a sweet tooth, you could get a half moon and probably love it. If you don't like sweet drinks, I'd recommend just a whisper. Quarter moon is probably similar to a sweet latte at Starbucks. Quarter moon matcha latte was too sweet for me, but still a good sweet drink. Autumn cold brew was great. The cold brew cut thru the sweetness. I also liked the migas taco and butter croissant. Service was super helpful and friendly. There's WiFi, a good amount of seating (though it's always busy), and a clean restroom. read more

I love summer moon , this location not so much ! The speaker outside was terrible forever ! I was told corporate wasn't fixing it. I wanted to give my phone a couple of time, they will say their WiFi is down, which is a bit odd ! She asked if I wanted a printed receipt, I said yes ! Then returns with coffee and then ask, do I still want printed receipt! Too busy putting the credit machine in my husband's face trying to get a tip ! I hate to complain but it gets frustrating when you're paying over 6 dollars for coffee and you can get good service! I enjoy the location in Steiner Ranch better, the employee's are friendly and service is great! read more

We stopped by on our drive back from hill country early in the morning looking for a reason to live (we had to drive on the 35). The interior is very nice and clean, and staffed well too. Seating options are good for those who want to stay inside and sip on their coffee. There's a lot of parking out front and unfortunately for us we didn't realize they had a drive-in until we were already in and placing our order. The menu is a bit smaller than some places in terms of offerings, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. We ordered an iced mocha moon latte to go and were the only people in the store at the time yet we kept waiting and waiting. We were wondering if they forgot about us, but it turns out the barista assumed we were a pickup order and put it in the mobile section without calling it out (looks like they could've used our drink more than us). Slight hiccup out of the way, the coffee was pretty good, mocha not too chalky and just sweet enough. A much needed refresher for the morning drive back. Not sure if we'd come back to this location as they didn't seem to have any urgency but we would definitely check out another to try it again. read more

I don't know what to say except, what happened? I spoke to the girl taking my order and we talked about level of sweetness in the milk and how I don't want tons of caffeine but just enough so no cold brew. I asked about the chai latte. Ordered what I thought was a chai latte. I also asked about the pastries. She said there was a vegan something or another or muffin, lemon poppy, and blueberry. I ordered all three. My chai latte had no latte. Just all coconut milk after we spoke about coffee. The lemon poppy? No lemon flavor. No blue berry flavors, no carrot flavor. None. They were slimy and tasted like those tasteless muffins in plastic at gas stations. So disappointed. I instead continued on my drive to Black Rock and got what I asked for, signed up to their membership for free and getting a free coffee on the next trip. I've always been a fan of Summer Moon coffee! The coffee is not bitter like some of the high end coffee shops. Our favorite coffee is their dark roast drip coffee. While my family and I would like to see more Gluten Free pastry options due to our allergies, they do have a variety of breakfast and snack items. This location is very convenient to Bee Cave and Lakeway and they offer nice indoor and outdoor seating. The employees are always friendly and helpful! They also have a drive through where the employee actually comes out to your car window which is a very nice touch. We are so happy to have a Summer Moon in our neighborhood! read more

Number one rule of customer service, don't acknowledge ripping the customer off and then laugh about in the customer's face. Today my wife stopped in for drinks. I ordered a black nitro and my wife got a blue moon. A few min after ordering the barista told me they were out of nitro and asked if I would want something else, like a drip as it was the only other thing on their menu that didn't have sugar and cream added. I said okay and he served me. Then I asked if I can get a refund since the drink I was given was $2 less, and the guy literally laughed and said yeah that would be nice then walked away smiling. I thought at the very least they would offer food or something to make up that difference if their point of sale system couldn't manage a refund. No, just a smile. So, now this is fraud, charging for something that you later say isn't in stock and supplying a cheaper replacement, while pocketing the difference. Oh and they also had the tip on the higher amount. Oh just after paying the guy stared at the screen like he was either looking up my name again or at the tip amount. So now a week after writing this review I'm wondering if he said the nitro was out because it tipped the default amount (13 or 15%). read more

Love Summer Moon and jumped for joy when I saw one was going in out west! I love their iced Mocha Moon Latte. Problem is, I like it so much that I've literally never tried anything else there despite the number of times I've visited a Summer Moon location. If anybody thinks there is something even better, I'm open to suggestions - but you're going to have to sell me on it! I love that the coffee isn't bitter. Mocha Moon is on the sweet side but that's what I love but I'm sure it's not for everybody. This new location has a drive-thru which is a bonus. I went inside so I can smell the good smells while waiting for my beverage and just to check out the decor. There wasn't a line when I went but it was early afternoon. The workers were nice and efficient. I saw people there having a casual chat and others working on their laptops, basically the vibe you'd expect at a coffee shop. I believe that people who say they like Starbucks has never ordered a drink at Summer Moon. They also have food items though I haven't tried them so can't speak to those. read more

After a year of complaining about why the nearest coffee shop is 6 miles away, Summer Moon of all places opens 2 miles away from me! Couldn't be more excited to go for the opening at 7 am thinking it's a an early Saturday - prolly no one will be there to drink coffee on a weekend, right?? Wrong!! The line was wrapped around the building. Luckily the drive through was open so we were able to get our morning caffeine without waiting in the line. The summer moon latte with the signature moon milk is amazing for the weekend. The blue moon latte is half moon milk and half skim topped with lavender for a complex flavor. My man and I just visited this location. It was actually our second choice because our first choice had extremely abnormal business hours and were closed in the middle of the day. We are so glad that happened as we were delighted to discover that not only does this place have regular business hours in to the evening, people were sipping their drinks and enjoying themselves at tables inside the shop, nice atmosphere at Summer Moon so it's not surprising people like it. I would give them 5 stars because I love their coffee. However, some geniuses in their corporate office decided to make a poor business decision to tack on a $1 service fee for every mobile order. A man from corporate called me and told me it was to "maintain" their mobile app. I told him this was a very poor business decision because Starbucks and other businesses who do online takeout orders do not do this. Second, they do not offer a rewards program the way other places like Starbucks, Black Rock etc offer for amount of items purchased through their app or at their store with a registered account. Furthermore, they aren't delivering the coffee - you still have to deal go pick it up! Additionally, their drive thru speaker does not work so you have to pull up to the window to order resulting in waiting in a long line. Effectively in order to be efficient one would one to use the mobile app. But not to pay for usage of it. I actually begged this guy to strongly reconsider removing this charge because they are also taking away tips from the baristas!! He brushed me off. I'm very very sad because I love Summer Moon and loved the idea of something local coming in the neighborhood but they are clearly not thinking about the community or their staff. I'll update my review when they fix this and their drive thru speaker. read more

I love this brand and was thrilled when they opened up a store in this neck of the woods. Great coffee, great staff. Nice location and good use of space despite the smaller footprint. I do appreciates the plentiful outlets near the tables. However, I have a few requests. One, I notice everything is in a to-go cup. I do appreciate the homey feel and lake of waste of the glass cups in other locations. Second, and probably the more important, please expand the food. There are no gluten-free options, which means I can't get a snack. Some of your other locations have yummy gf options, and I'd love to see some here if possible. read more

Either the company is having cash flow issues or they just don't understand a service model in the 21st century. 1. Incentivize pre-ordering to create efficiency at your coffee bar. Pro tip: Don't penalize your consumer to use the technology of the app. That's The business cost not the consumer cost. Be smart. The app is not the direct revenue generator it's overhead cost. 2. You charging 50 cents for adding milk or cream to my drip coffee?! I missed the global event where there is a milk shortage. Surely not happening at Starbucks. You are so stepped for cash you have to charge for something that costs 3 cents per pour? Pro tip: Get online and buy a 360ct of coffee mate creamer packs for $35. 9 cents will allow you to remove the work of one barista having to get the pitcher of creamer and pouring it in themselves freeing them up to produce more work for higher margin items. Rather than loosing customers' repeat business by charging them 50 cents for a splash of creamer. 3. Let's talk about your workforce inefficiency. How many people do you need to make a cup of coffee? They are running into each other and there is still an unnecessary line. I get it the place is new, but you should have a veteran staff working on busy weekends for the first quarter after opening on Saturdays. The kid working the iPad looks like a lost child at Six Flags. The new baristas are taking way too long to make orders because the service and prep area are backwards and they have to walk through 5 people to get ingredients. Pro tip: Don't go for fashion over function. Dutch Bros makes a great cup and I have never seen the inside of the place. At the end of the day it's all about the coffee not the tile and lighting. I was looking forward to this place because we have been on the Summer Moon reorder for beans for three years and we support local businesses. BUT this model tells me they don't understand sustainable business practices or they are inflating revenue for a buyout opportunity soon.
