    Starbucks refill policy
    Luke Y.

This is the worst Starbucks I have ever gone to. Brooke didn't know the gold loyalty program and insisted I was incorrect when asking for a refill of an iced coffee after I had just spent $7 on a drink. I politely asked to get a refill and she insisted I was wrong. I went to look up the policy on Starbucks website and it clearly stated that I could get a free refill as long as I scanned my gold card when I ordered my first drink which I did. I proceeded to get back in line and showed her the policy online and she got even more irritated and loud and continued to insist I was wrong. I asked for her store manager and she pointed me to a card. I went and grabbed the card and called Anthony (District Manager) who said I was correct on the policy and would call the store to let Brooke know she was incorrect. When I told her this Brooke had other customer say I was harassing her because I simply knew the policy better than she did. This establishment needs to train employees better and needs better employees who don't feel entitled to yell at other customers when pointing out a policy that clearly states you get a free refill. See below for Starbucks own words on their loyalty policy

Wow... I hate doing this with everything going on but this would be the 3rd time I've gotten a drink from here that's so far from what I've actually ordered. Don't waste your money... drive the extra 4 mins to go to the Starbucks in lakeway they never disappoint. The lady who made it was rude and was mad I ordered an iced tea. I ordered my drink with ice it literally had none, I paid for extra Carmel and the Carmel was less then when you ask for it "light" lol, I know they did not do all the pumps of my flavors, and the tea/water/milk ratio was way off. Literally paid money for warm watery milk so there's that. I order this drink all the time and I know exactly how it should taste, so like I stated before go to any other Starbucks if you don't want your order botched.

Tasteless vanilla skinny what is wrong with Starbucks this used to be a favorite coffee drink of nine it tastes terrible dont know of I am brave enough to complain people here are very nice but cookies is average and taste like it's been refrigerated too long kinda of stale. I wish they would have there corporate people come to this location and check out the poor coffee drinks no tastebuds screaming at me saying this is good coffee but a mud taste gritty with grinds. Don't think I would return to this location i much rather drag my body through the day than have Starbucks coffee. Well coffee is in other locations can be different and I am willing to drive to other locations for my coffee fix for now heading to let them know after all i paid close to 10 dollars for this terrible drinks and cookies.

a cup of iced coffee on a red table

They can never get my order right. My drink was the vanilla sweet cream cold brew. It doesn't even look right. The cream curdled when I went back to ask them to remake the drink the employee said yeah that happens sometimes when the cream is fresh.

Hmmmm. My pic doesn't quite gel with the other pics & reviews. Was there a remodel here?

(This is the Starbucks at 71 & 2244, kind of hidden in that HEB parking lot. There's a new Thundercloud next door.) ************************* This is one of those reviews where I'm reading Kris & Anna's and looking at the pics and wondering if Yelp has combined this Starbucks with the Galleria Oak's Barnes & Nobles SB across the street but realize it's no big deal and maybe this Starbucks really has been around for over five years but I've just never noticed it before when I'm at this HEB. It happens. Smallish Starbies, hard working & friendly staff, and they'll happily sell you beans by the half-pound (some SBs won't). They're always stocked up on their display food too, if that's your thing. Nothing surprising here, but nothing that'll make you go "Ewww!" either. That's why these guys are everywhere.

Very slow. Just ordered a lemonade and sandwich. Usually takes 1 min. Taking at least 10 here. No drive thru.

It was suggested based on the recommendation of my running friend. I absolutely love the decor of the space. It is a French country farmhouse vibe with so many quant decorative details. We had a large party of 12. They have a bunch of different bakery items behind the counter and a selection of omelettes, French toast and avacado. Unfortunately the cafe was not equipped to handle such a large party. We first placed our drink orders and some individuals including myself did not receive our drinks until after our food order. Many times the incorrect food would come out and they could not keep track of what everyone was ordering. They did ask for patience as they only had one cook, but I did see tables with smaller parties receiving their food in a timely manner. Even with the wait the food was still delivered in a piecemeal fashion. It would have been nice if the restaurant had done something to acknowledge our inconvenience. I started with the purple rain which was one of their specialty drinks a butterfly tea with lemon over sparking water with agava. It was quite expensive but tasted very bland to me. I also ordered a small soldier which is a baked egg wrapped with Italian prosciutto. This item was very tasty but very small. I also ordered a quiche with spinach, feta and tomato with farm fresh egg. This item was a bit more substantial compared to other items and was served with fresh tomato, but could have used a salsa. I didn't get a photo of this item. I was a bit blown away about the price point of these items because I spent nearly $35 for brunch and left still hungry. The dining experience ended up turning into an hour and a half ordeal. For these reasons, I was a bit disappointed and this spot was just not my cup of tea.

We decided to give it one more try, hoping maybe we'd caught them on an off day before... but nope. This was the final nail in the biscuit coffin. Let's start with the aftermath--because that's really what sealed it. My stomach hurt all day long. My friend? Actually sick the rest of the day. That's not "meh." That's not "just didn't love it." That's what just happened to us? And the food itself? Equally disappointing. We tried the cinnamon roll thinking, okay, surely this will be a win. It was... not. Dense, off, and just plain bad. The egg, cheese, and biscuit sandwich? Also awful. And that one hurts to say, because how do you mess up something that simple? It felt heavy, poorly balanced, and nothing like the comforting, crave-worthy breakfast you expect from a place built around biscuits. What's most frustrating is how far this place has fallen. It used to be somewhere you could count on. Now it feels like quality has taken a steady dive--and no one hit the brakes. At this point, I'm done. Done giving chances. Done spending money hoping for better. There are too many great spots out there to keep gambling on disappointment. Never again.

Was seated in about the middle of the restaurant along the wall. I love these seats cause you can see the coffee station and what's going on back there. Basically people watching. My drink came super quick, and my food didn't take long at all. I mean like a couple minutes quick. Tacos were outstanding. And honestly as soon as I asked for a corn tortilla over the flour I thought, they're going to fall apart. But they didn't. And when you see the size of these tacos it will blow your mind that they didn't. Good corn tortilla. Scrambled eggs are fluffy, the potatoes are seasoned a little. It truly feels like a neighborhood restaurant that everyone loves--locals constantly gathering here for coffee, great food, and good company. This visit, I ordered the classic hamburger with French fries, and it was excellent--simple, fresh, and cooked just right. I also had their Moon Latte, which was absolutely delicious. Everything was spot-on. VIVEL is a wonderful place to enjoy time with friends, family, and even children. The food is consistently good, and most of the staff have always been incredibly sweet, welcoming, and helpful. That said, we had a really disappointing experience during our last visit that felt worth sharing. A younger female employee with a long dark ponytail brought our food over, I think she was a food runner - but she wasn't wearing the Vivel branded t shirt like the other employees. When my husband politely asked for ketchup, she visibly rolled her eyes before bringing it. When I then asked if I could please have a knife (I'm seven months pregnant, for context), she started to walk to get one, took two steps, turned back and said "you can go get it yourself". It felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive, especially given how quiet the café was at the time. We stayed for a while after and watched her standing by the counter organizing utensils, so it wasn't a matter of being too busy. We really like this place and will continue coming back, but this interaction stood out in a negative way and didn't reflect the level of service we've experienced before.

It's the kind of place you can see yourself lingering for a while. I ordered the Tide Shot Chai Latte and the Margherita Pizza. Unfortunately, my first chai latte had dish soap residue in it. They explained they had just washed the dishes and sincerely apologized. To their credit, they immediately made me a fresh one. I had only taken a small sip of the first drink, so I appreciated how quickly they corrected the mistake. Now, let's talk about the pizza -- outstanding. The crust was very thin and perfectly done, the cheese was wonderful, and the balance of flavors was just right. It was a very well-executed Margherita and surprisingly filling even though it looks light and simple. Truly a perfect pizza in my opinion. For today, I'm giving four stars because of the drink mishap, but I will absolutely return. Next time I plan to try more items from the menu. This place has great  potential, and overall it was a very enjoyable experience.
