They sell coffee by the pound, likely for those serious coffee lovers who have fancy expensive coffee machines. I was looking for a latte. Bad news...this coffee company sells coffee by the pound not lattes (hence the name). Good news... they sell drip coffee for $2.00 + tax. What a deal! This family owned shop has been roasting beans locally since 1972 and focuses on helping customers brew excellent coffee at home rather than serving coffee drinks on premises. According to the store manager, Mr. Anderson occasionally comes into the store. The selection of freshly roasted beans is rather larger, with store favorites like Guatemala Antiqua, Dark Sumatra and Arabian Mocha cited as most popular. Coffee cost on average $19 per pound. In addition to coffee, the store carries loose leaf teas, mugs, candy, cards, coffee pot sweaters, brewing equipment, and small other gift items, to name just a few items. I was totally and completely enamored with this store. They had so many trinkets and interesting items, you literally could peruse for hours. Captivating environment...Loved it...

The staff has changed over the years but I've always looked forward to the friendly interactions and perusing the large variety of equipment, confections and mugs. It's also a great place to buy gifts. The store has barely changed except for new products even though it's been in the same location since 1972. And, the coffee is the best!

I wish we had this place in Dallas, it's THAT good…read more I had seen multiple reviews about the brown sugar miso coffee and was so excited to try it, it definitely did not disappoint. Nestled in a cute food truck park, this place is a walk up and go kinda order but your coffee is out fast considering the long line. The brown sugar miso was 10/10 and the vanilla with orange blossom had such a unique flavor. All around this place is a must try.

I may be the current Duke of this location, but there is still a lot for me to try. And dang, I really want one of those really nice tote bags. Before I discuss the coffee order I got this time. I wanted to shout out the customer service for being ridiculously amazing. Maybe it was because I got there super early and right when they opened, but this was the first time I did not see them super stressed and low-key freaking out. I usually walk away with my beverages, but this time I sat down. One of the baristas actually came out and checked on me to see how my drinks were. I found this to be super special. Okay, now onto the dirty chai that I ordered. I asked (when I asked about the floral notes that I was tasting) if they made their own chai in house and the woman told me that they in fact did. She also mentioned that I got the end of the house-made batch so what I was tasting might be different from a normal order. I thought this was quite interesting and this was another unique beverage, despite being a staple at many coffee shops. Would I order it again? Probably not but it was good! Also, with the Shoyu butterscotch, I would stick to the iced version. So thank you Desnudo for another great vibe and for making my one hour round-trip always worth it!

But not so terrible that I would never come back. The staff is really nice and attentive, and they have delicious pastries near the front of the bar as well. There is plenty of seating and charging outlets so you can continue to use your computer, or tablet as needed. It's also in a really cool location with pretty art outside. My recommendation to the staff would be to amplify the syrup flavoring just a tiny bit more on their special drinks. Other than that things are great!

Gelatoro is located in Hyde Park on 45th street (faces this direction) not Duval Road as the address implies. There is a small Gelato sign on Duval street, which ironically is on the side of Gelatoro. The building houses both Juiceland and Gelatoro. I purchased a non-dairy lemon and strawberry gelato (two of four dairy-free options). The gelato was refreshing and tasty simultaneously. Gelatoro features house-made gelato with rotating flavors and fan favorites including chocolate, blueberry chip, and strawberry. Their coffee and espresso options offerings may also include affogatos for a sugar rush. Bakery treats include cookies, bars and candy treats including Dubai chocolate. The cashier was very friendly offering me several samples needed for me to make my final selection. There is a small amount of free parking available to customers for Gelatoro. In addition, the gelato is reasonably priced. In general, gelato is better for you than ice cream and more dense. A nice treat for a sizzling hot day in Austin, TX...

The high quantity of cocoa changed the flavor of the initial bites. I ended up removing the cocoa all together. The Lemon Sorbetto was amazing! It is dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan. It had a great lemon flavor and was incredibly refreshing. I also enjoyed the Amarena Cherry. It is gluten-free. It felt more like ice cream due to the dairy, so it was less refreshing, but still a treat. I would have enjoyed it more with more cherries in it. I look forward to trying more frozen treats from Gelatoro.
