Clean ambiance and very lively. Service was nice. I went to work out of here for a bit and it was quite nice! I ordered a plain latte, that was good! Their baked goods looked amazing but I wasn't craving anything at that time. Overall it was a good experience coming here.

chicken salad sandwich

Stopped by this location of Russell's Bakery for lunch, and overall, it was a great. The bad news--no pimento cheese sandwich, which is one of the stars of the menu at their other locations. Not sure if it's gone from all three spots or just this one, but I was a little bummed. On the bright side, I tried the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant instead. The chicken salad itself was super fresh and tasty, but the croissant was just okay--kind of lacking that buttery, flaky magic you usually hope for. It still held up well to the sandwich, though, so no major complaints. The tea bread and coffee I got were both solid--definitely worth trying. Counter service was friendly, and I really appreciated that the place is part of a shopping center with a ton of parking (rare in Austin these days). Couple other little notes: the chips came as a small bag of Lay's instead of something fancier like kettle chips, but hey, it's Lay's--I guess they get the job done. And surprisingly, they've got a pretty big beer selection for what I'd usually think of as a breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. I'm curious what their happy hour or dinner vibe is like since I was only here during lunch. Despite the little things, I'm still giving it 5 stars because everything came together for a good meal, and the staff was lovely. Just hoping that pimento cheese sandwich makes a comeback.

Solid place for coffee, a breakfast sandwich (even at lunchtime), and getting some work done on my laptop.

I love the green soft chairs, the tables, and the chef statue greeting you as you pull in front of the building. He's right there in the window. The bistro honestly takes your breath away. I love it! So in the last two weeks, I've been back exactly four times. My first introduction was the Croissant Scramble with chicken and veggies inside, with the Arnold Palmer. My friend got the Croissant Scramble with brisket. The presentation of the croissants when brought to the table blew me away. It was wrapped up in the cutest paper with the ends twisted. The topic of conversation was how good the croissants were. Before we left, we ordered some delicious cookies. The chocolate chips were yummy. So I went the following day and grabbed some pastries! One in particular was the Pecan Bar. The following week, another friend and I stopped in for the Chicken Pesto Omelet. I like that the fire-roasted bell peppers and onions are cooked, if that's the right word. But l have to tell you, the Mexican Hot Chocolate drink brings on the flavor, as does the ice-cold Mocha. Of course, we got the Pecan Bar for dessert. So yes, I went back yesterday for the Almond Croissant. I know, I know!

Not sure why people are giving this place five stars. Unless they're paying for reviews?…read more We arrived here, and the girl taking orders had zero knowledge of anything. Constantly had to refer to "calling her" dad to get information. Multiple things on the menu were not even available. Very "Mom and pop" and below average. Treated like it was a business someone's running out of their garage. Very unprofessional in 2026 in the city of Austin. Your menu doesn't even match what you really have? Customers can't rely on what they see online -- or even the in-store menu. That's disingenuous. We won't be back. Very disappointing.

The outside is a little boring, but the interior is dressed up a bit with a chandelier and bright shiny display cases full of baklava and other desserts. The employee offered us a free sample, which was a good start. I may be guilty of falling for the "Dubai Chocolate" trend, but I chose a few pieces of baklava that had chocolate pistachio flavor profiles. I also took a risk on a nest shaped pastry filled with lemon filling, and I think it was my favorite of them all! They have tables where you can eat your treats there, and wash your hands afterwards, which is important because there's almost no way to do it without getting sticky fingers. I ate two pieces there, and saved two more for the evening, which was a lot for one day, but it was sure a treat!

It was so hard to choose what to order, so I got milk and cookies ice cream, and a blondie. As I walked away, I wished I also tried one of their classic chocolate chip cookies. That's what I'll need to go back for next time! The blondie was good, but their chocolate chip cookies looked better. I'm now piecing together that they're associated with Tiny Boxwoods, a restaurant I'd heard of before. Their whole complex of white buildings feels like a peaceful little retreat in the middle of the city. We took my blondie to Pease Park (and I ate the ice cream on the drive there), but next time I'd want to simply stay in the neighborhood to eat it.

I stopped by to try the coconut sugar latte (there's a lot of hype around it) and I wasn't impressed. They took 20 minutes to get my latte to me and told me they had forgotten about it. Which is not acceptable and a waste of time. To compensate they gave me a cookie but the service needs major improvement bc they also got the couple next to me's order wrong. Overall I tried it and probably won't be coming back. It's objectively good but nothing stands out. There are plenty of other places in Austin to get your sweet treat fix. It's worth trying but not a staple.

Don't you love when a place is actually worth the hype? Everything I had here was best in class…read more The breakfast tacos were cooked to perfection and the homemade tortilla was a stand-out. The pink cake and brown butter lavender concha were GREAT, but the butternut cardamomo panque was exceptional. 10/10. A must-try in my opinion. It was moist with a great texture and flavor. The inside is super small and only meant for ordering, but it was cool getting to see the masters at work preparing the food (don't film or photographer the employees though as there is a sign not to do so). There is a decent amount of seating via small tables and benches behind the restaurant, in front, and along the sides. Customer service was good! One employee was particularly sweet when he checked on us as we ate outside. My friend said that the food was amazing and that he felt grateful. The employee said that makes him very happy and he was glad to hear that. In conclusion, Comadre Pandería is worth the hype!!!

They also offer utensils/water outside with mainly bench seating available. Portion sizes are normal sized, but compared to the price, kind of expensive. Empanadas ($7, 7/10) - The filling was good! Stewed meat with tomato based sauce, and paired very well with their breading. - Portion size was moderate. However for the price, it was not that filling, and I wish that it were either a little larger, or a little less expensive - Definitely enjoyed this item, and one of the better empanadas that I've had Overall, a cool spot in the middle of the neighborhood. Good pastries, though on the pricey side. Not sure if would visit again, but the pink walls are a cool fun touch.
