I see that, as of right now, Three Thirty Three only has 3.8 stars. Other than the insane prices this place is the best I've visited in years! The ambience is magical and I could have sat there for hours, soaking it in. The food was delicious and the service was stellar. The wagyu filet mignon was like no other steak I've ever had. I can't recommend this place enough! We visited for our 15th wedding anniversary and probably won't be able to afford to go back until our 20th but if you get a chance to dine here, DO. This is an experience! The restaurant is nothing like you've seen in AZ. They've gone all out on atmosphere. They've done so many nice touches and everything is high end. The menus were impressive. The food was all well done and well prepared. The thing that kept me from giving a 5 is that the flavors were a little safe. With the price point I would have expected a bit more "foodie" vs mainstream flavors and spice levels if that makes sense. The cucumber cocktail I had was amazing as were the mushrooms and the dessert so I would give those all 5 stars and the rest of the food items a 4. I personally had a great dining experience. Yes, it is pricey but it presents itself as a sophisticated place so you know what to expect going into it. It is really no different from other trendy and nicer spots in the Valley in terms of pricing (for better or for worse). Not something I'd be able to afford regularly, but I enjoyed the experience and would go back for special occasions. I came with a few preconceived ideas that (1) service would be a bit snotty as it can be in these types of places - it was not at all. From the front desk to the wait staff, everyone was extremely friendly; (2) music would be loud - maybe I thought this because it has that cool DJ booth and again, these types of places tend to be a bit loud. I was pleasantly surprised that the music was not loud, and I could carry a conversation without having to scream. Making a reservation was easy. There is plenty of free parking in the parking structure nearby. Finding the place was a bit complicated, because of the lack of signage and the fact that my online maps kept sending me someplace else. If, like me, you get lost, look up Crumbl Cookies and walk towards N Scottsdale Rd, it's right around the corner from that. My table was ready for me on time, I did not have to wait at all. I'm a vegetarian and maybe an Asian steakhouse that also serves a lot of seafood is not the greatest place for me, but I left with a full and happy belly after ordering the garlic noodles and the kimchi fritters (which were just a tad bit too salty for my taste, but otherwise hit the spot). Obviously my experience in terms of taste with non-meat, non-fish food may not be a relevant indicator of food quality, and you can refer to other reviews for that, but just saying there are tasty options for vegetarians. The drinks were delicious, too. Again, if you're looking to dine on a budget, this is not the place. You could also simply grab a drink in the bar area, which is quite nice too. This upscale & luxurious restaurant in the Tempe Watermark district, built for $10 million over two years, is run by 2016 MasterChef champ Shaun O'Neil. (I have seen all their episodes so I was excited to hear about this!) And yes, that infamous LED screen? It's from the same group behind the Las Vegas Sphere. Their catchy motto, "You've never tasted Asian like this," is bold--let's see if this is true! I booked a table for Christmas dinner (this also includes my 5yo) and it did not disappoint! I should mention, we rarely go out for extravagant dinners. The doorman offered to snap a family photo as we strutted in wearing matching Christmas onesies--how could we refuse? I should mention there is a dress code, but they let us slide since it was Christmas. We marveled at the gorgeous interior and vibrant LED screen which made it seem like you were in an aquarium amongst tropical fish. There was a live DJ playing catchy EDM, a live sax player belting along to the music while galavanting around the room and a dancer performing with beautifully lit up wings. It gave Toca Madera vibes. We were seated in these luxurious soft seats. The service was absolutely phenomenal with the utmost kindness and hospitality. Our server Antoinette navigated our entire dining experience with grace and attentiveness. Two managers also came along to introduce themselves and ensuring we were comfortable. Now, let's talk food! They kicked things off with complimentary Rosé--cheers to that! ---Exceptional items: *Whipped Edamame: Imagine hummus's sophisticated cousin - but make it Asian-fusion. Creamy edamame meets crispy shrimp chips in a gastronomic dance. Their 333 inscription is also a nice touch! *Lobster & Truffle Miso Carbonara: This was delicious with well-executed flavor profiles and we had a server come by shaving fresh black truffle over the dish. You'd have to be a truffle and lobster enthusiast b/c the dish was $120. ---Solidly, well prepared items included: *Robotyaki Wagyu Filet Mignon & Wagyu fried rice: The highly rated wagyu comes from Snake River Farms. $48 is a lot for each of these food items, so you'd really have to be a meat enthusiast to appreciate its quality. *333 beach dessert: This was a whimsical optical illusion dessert with coconut creme encased with a chocolate shell making it look like a real coconut slice. It was garnished with a playful crumble with slices of fruit and creme a-topped with garnish appearing to look like mini tropical islands. It was delicious, but I was impressed with the originality. *Fall of the Flying Lotus mock-tail: This was a fruity refresher for my 5yo, which he loved, tasty and bubbly with a dragonfruit slice. ---Room for improvement items included: *Salmon Fire: I was underwhelmed with the thick ponzu sauce, which drowned the the flavors of the delicate salmon sashimi. I would've preferred a crudo type preparation with a much lighter sauce or broth, perhaps with a hint of citrus. *Thai coconut corn: This side was aggressively sour, I couldn't finish it after 2 bites. Adding some more texture like light tempura flakes or bread crumbs could enhance the experience, almost like an asian fusion elote. *Crazy rich asian fries: With a name like that with a price point of $20, I expected something extraordinary. The thin cut fries tasted like they were prepared from frozen and they had a small container with truffle aioli, to which I could barely taste the truffle. Maybe they could use thicker freshly prepared fries with a more apparent taste of truffle. *Side of white rice: This was for my kiddo, it was pretty stale and cold. I know this can be easily improved. All in all, we had a wonderful Christmas dinner experience! I was excited to go to Three Thirty Three. I confess I wondered if the food would be too salty as per lots of reviews. One thing that I did like was the hostess desk was in a large spacious area with sitting. So many restaurants have basically no where to wait while waiting to be seated. I honestly didn't like the hostess. She proceeded to compliment my hair which I frequently receive. But it was so obviously a fake compliment and her shallow chit chat was really off putting. If you cannot have a genuinely friendly staff seating guests then aim for an amiable curious tone. While the hostess was lackluster our waiter was exceptional. He was warm and turbot in the most natural manner which was such a contrast to the fakeness of the hostess. Our waiter was very attentive and naturally courteous. We order the Tofu Avocado salad for a starter. I am not typically a tofu fan, this salad blew me away. The packed firm tofu was extremely tasty and flavorful. The micro baby greens with edible flowers was fresh and tasty. The thick cut avocado was delicious. I did appreciate having nice round chopsticks. I really enjoy using chopsticks. Another nice touch was the napkin rings. I really cannot the last time I saw napkin rings at a restaurant and I like that this restaurant uses them. The truffle fries were exceptionally crispy and flavorful but the salt level was too much. Too salty food is such an easy fix but shouldn't be an issue. Chefs need to taste their food. The Hand roll was greatly liked by my companion but he felt the amount of rice served was too paltry and should have been more generous. He enjoyed being able to make his own hand rolls. We also ordered the Roasted Cauliflower and it was the perfect bite sized pieces for chopsticks. It was very savory and delicious and the salt level was perfection. The atmosphere and decor are pleasant but the digital aquarium is gimmicky and kinda Disney like. I prefer the more sedately decorated bar area. It's subdued in the best possible way. We made reservations online, and the only options were 5:00 PM or 5:30 PM. Naturally, we assumed the place must be packed all night and booked the 5:00 slot, thinking we'd be lucky to snag a table. Fast forward to our arrival: the restaurant was completely empty. Not a soul at the bar, maybe a handful of tables filled by 6:30 in main seating area. Why the credit card on file, guys? The place isn't that exclusive, and this policy just deters guests from booking. On entry, the vibe was undeniably impressive: a Vegas-like setup with velvet seating, a DJ, and a rotating image screen. It was all very "wow" at first glance. But unfortunately, the wow stopped at the decor. The drinks and food? Not it. An espresso martini for $27? Let's be real--you're not in Scottsdale. The food followed the same theme: basic, overpriced, and not remotely Asian-inspired. The standout dish of the night? The lemon chicken. Yes, the lemon chicken. Everything else was forgettable at best. Scallops, cold. Filet, over-drenched with sauce. Noodles, better at home. Cauliflower, soggy. This was a dining experience of a lifetime. We were lucky enough to experience Three Thirty Three on their opening night to the public and it was incredible. Most stunning of all was the interior of the restaurant. From the giant fish tank screen to the cherry blossom trees, everywhere you looked was breathtaking. The aesthetics was perfection down to every little detail. There was a live DJ and honestly it was the best restaurant music I've heard. I would hire him to play at my wedding. The food was just as spectacular as the atmosphere. We were fans of Chef Shaun from Masterchef and he was the reason I've been following the development of this restaurant for over a year! I've been to many high-end restaurants, and this one truly stands out in design and ambiance. We visited tonight for a business dinner with about 12 people. I had high expectations. The appetizers were excellent, drinks were good, and the main courses were decent. Food overall was fine. However, the service did not match the level of the restaurant. Our server seemed lost. Drinks were delayed, appetizers arrived before beverages, and the waiter was often nowhere to be found. At a high-end restaurant, guests shouldn't have to ask repeatedly for water refills or wait long periods just to place drink orders. We were ready to order a second bottle of wine, but the delay in service -- even getting the check -- led us to call it a night. We ordered the Black Cod dish and it was delicious with fried ginger strips and mushrooms to compliment the flavors. The portion was the smallest I've ever seen at a fancy place. The Hamachi Crudo was good but not great. The yellowtail cut was on the thicker side and I just didn't like it with the baby tomatoes they sliced in half. The Pork Belly Tacos were so yummy! Crunchy on the outside with deliciously cooked pork belly! Only thing was it came as two tacos and was as tiny as the length of your finger. Came here for Father's Day and was blown away. Started off with a drink at the side bar which had a really great drink menu and tons of options for whiskeys. Once we were sat we were given lots of options for food that were all amazing. We got the fried chicken, wagyu tacos and sashimi which were knock outs. For our main orders we did steaks including the table side Wagyu which was a great experience and something new we had not seen before. The garlic noodles were also a great option in place of a more traditional side. They really did a great job blending the Asian fusion with high end steak house. We went for our anniversary and ordered kimchi fritters, miso salmon with champagne beurre blanc sauce, Wagyu filet, hamachi Crudo, spicy noodles, assorted mushrooms and green beans. Beautiful venue. We went on a Tuesday and saw some cool entertainment, I can't imagine how loud and busy this must get on weekends ! Definitely an A+ for decor and nightlife vibe. Unfortunately the ambiance didn't make up for the very pricey outing. Nothing was wrong with any of the food but very little wowed. Our favorite dishes were the edamame dip , garlic noodles and veggie sides (ironically all of the less expensive items too). A friend and I went to Three Thirty just a few days after it opened. The food, which is drawn from Asian cuisines such as Japanese and Korean, is quite good. The hamachi crudo appetizer and the Wagyu Dragon Beef entree were our standouts. The garlic noodles and Korean fried chicken were fantastic as well. The drinks are inventive and delicious; the Okinawan Tea Service was beautiful and fruity and the Cool as a Cucumber was light and refreshing. The prices are high--really high. Cocktails are $20+, most appetizers are well above $20 and entrees start around $50. Portions are fairly small (except for the fried chicken, which was massive), so dishes start adding up quickly. Service was excellent. A few mistakes occurred--cilantro on a dish that wasn't supposed to be there, and I was brought a different cocktail from the one I ordered--but the server was apologetic and the errors were fixed quickly. The decor is initially impressive but ultimately confusing. The enormous LED screen with the aquarium graphics is super-cool. The main dining room has bamboo-paneled walls and cherry blossom trees for an Asian-inspired look, but they clash visually with the red velvet club chairs. The ultra-modern DJ podium, again, looks cool, but doesn't really match the rest of the decor. And about the DJ, the EDM was loud and often intrusive. The music doesn't need to be that loud at 6 p.m. on a Wednesday. Some people won't mind, but it's definitely not a place for an intimate meal. We did really like the saxophonist who walked around the dining room, though. We poked our head in the bar area before we left--it's a cool space and more mellow than the dining room. I'd be more likely to return to enjoy the bar than the restaurant. Overall, I think for people who want to try to hot new spot and who have the money to drop, Three Thirty Three is well worth visiting. read more

Over the top (Saturday date night) John has created a perfect date night, evening event that will settle any appetite. Clean, low lights, background music (not too loud) and visually entertaining; prices compare to any fine dining experience (check the menu easily get a 2 top for under $200). Or indulge and try something new only John and staff can create at three thirty three. Hostesses gave us time to relax at the bar and checkin when we were ready to dine. We showed about 30mins before reservations. The bar staff was quick and crafted signature drinks smooth and refreshing (try the mocktails also) The staff is helpful and more than willing to discuss their favorites. Garrett guided us perfectly and managed our time without constantly harassing us. I'll do dessert first because these can get long and people don't read long. The white chocolate breading pudding is amazing. Freshly backed and flavors just melt in your mouth. The ube cheese cake (yes it is purple). Don't let the ube discourage you this is the lightest cheesecake, whipped to perfection the ube ice cream hits the spot The dragon fruit bowl if you're full and would like something light and refreshing to cleanse those taste buds. Look no further and believe me try the bread pudding after. (Always room for desserts). Check the menu online the pics of the dishes are exact. Small but balanced so there is no waste and multiple plates can be tried to tame the desires of the foodie explorer!!! Don't think of these appetizers as those you have seen or tried before. Order it...it will surprise you...try it... you will be amazed. Executive chef Matt graced me with table side presentation of his Japanese wagyu cut choices. The marbling was perfect gave a rich buttery flavor with only a pinch of salt. These pieces of meat just melted and juices poured out. A must try for meat lovers. Matt cooked to perfection on the hot plate table side. The salmon. I'm not a fan of salmon, girlfriend always gets this dish. BUT This Miso Salmon tasted like a thick flake white fish , with a hint of salmon in the after taste. If this is an insult to salmon, sorry but I could eat this again. Not overcooked, juicy and flakey. Large portion almost couldn't finish. This restaurant is still finding its identity, don't let hearsay stop you. I've been watching them since they open and just really wanted to go for the atmosphere because of how beautiful everything looked and hoping the food and service matches! I can't say how good the drinks were cause unfortunately I've never received the drink out ordered which was very disappointing because we were there and did not order appetizers for quite some time because we were just looking over the menu and decided on what we wanted to get. My other three guest got their drinks. Appetizers came out in a timely fashion. Entrées came out good amount of time as well. Service was very good. Food was well prepared and cooked to the temperature requested. I am a big SIDES person so the sides are always the most important! The cream corn and fried rice were very tasty. Mushrooms as well. I didn't like the garlic noodles which are one of my favorite sides normally. Overall the experience of the restaurant was awesome and the food was decent. We went to 333 last year and loved it. We thought the ambience was amazing. We ordered a steak, which was seasoned well, but it wasn't cooked as well as it should have been. Since the server didn't check back until the end, we pointed out the raw pieces of steak that we couldn't eat. He apologized and brought us a big piece of chocolate cake to make up for it. We appreciated the gesture and left with a good impression. Our friends saw our pictures of our date night and wanted to try it out while they in town, so we finally went their last weekend. The visual ambience was still amazing, but the service was really awful. Our server, Garrett, did not return often to check on us or offer more drinks or more water. One of our friends requested a glass of wine and he never brought it, so he flagged another staff member down and had someone else bring it. When the food came, he never checked back to see how it was. We would have liked some salt for our steak and fries. The steak was also a littler pinker than we like it, but we were able to eat it. I was also out of water and wine. The music was getting louder and we could barely hear each other talk. It was also getting darker. I felt like I was at a club more than a restaurant. At the end, they were rushing out to leave since there was a 90-minute time limit. Another staff member came over to give us our checks. They completely mixed up our food tabs and had to redo the checks. They already added 18% tip to our check too. We only had 4 people in our group. My husband added even more to the tip, but if I wasn't in the restroom, I definitely wouldn't have added anything extra. I was very disappointed with the service, especially when you pay over $200 for a meal. Unfortunately, we will not be back. It has a cool vibe, but it doesn't line up with the service and expensive meals that are mediocre at best. read more

OVER PRICED! Let's start off with that , extremely overpriced for the quality of food. Now over all the experience was nice and the ambiance and decor inside was really cool. Definitely "instagram worthy" we started off with the sashimi and the tuna tartar those were amazing and really good but that's about it. BRAISED WAGYU SHORT RIB ,COAL ROASTED TRUFFLE CHICKEN, WAGYU CHEESEBURGER, SMOKED AHI TUNA CRUDO, YELLOWTAIL SASHIMI CHILEAN SEA BASS were ordered and they lacked flavor . The short rib was more of a jello type of texture with a lot of fat . The sea bass was better but still could use some more of a sauce it additional flavor. Truly an unforgettable experience. Feels like you stepped out of Arizona and landed right smack in the middle of Vegas. The decor is awesome with the color scheme, the huge dragon and of course the incredibly large screens! Live DJ that played music as well. Moving to the staff, Amy was very friendly and helpful the entire night. Now for the important part: the food. Flavor was on point, from the steak to the lobster garlic noodles. We also tried the pork belly and wagyu fried rice. Portions were a bit small especially with the fried rice and didn't have too much meat inside. Only critique would of course be the price: you can't come here expecting an inexpensive meal. Much like Vegas it is over the top and if you are celebrating then this is definitely the place to do it. We went in knowing it was going to be a bit pricey but this place exceeded expectations. Last night at Thirty Three & Three we had one of those dinners that remind you why hospitality is an art. We switched from a high-top to a table, grabbed a quick drink at the bar, and immediately the Beverage Director, James, noticed us. Without hesitation, he made us feel at home--recognizing my lady was pregnant, walking me through the Champagne list, and pouring her a complimentary glass of non-alcoholic bubbles so she could share in the moment. That gesture set the tone. I started with the pork belly, then dove into the short rib, while she went with the bone-in chicken. We split the truffle fries--decadent, golden, perfect. As someone who works in high-end dining myself, I came in hoping to find things I can't get at my own restaurant, and they absolutely delivered. Yes, service had its ups and downs--auto-grats sometimes take the edge off a server's energy, and I get that. We're young, not balling out, and I've been on the other side. No hate. But James? James is a legend. The kind of person who clearly lives for food and drink, who makes you feel like the star of the room without overplaying it. We enjoyed the experience, don't base it off of the negative reviews. Most people in the world's opinion is not one we should take anyway. Yes it's pricey so if you can get over the prices you'll enjoy it. But anyplace with an experience will be that way. I was super impressed with everything we tried. Went here late at night after ASU graduation for some cake. We called in to see if they had any open seating and asked if it would be okay to just come in for dessert. The hostess was extremely kind and accommodating. When we arrived we weren't treated as kindly, the hostesses were a bit condescending in all honesty but, it was kind of expected considering how fancy this place is. We were told to sit and wait for about 5 minutes until we were led into the main dining area. The dining area is stunning, from the large screens showing different types of digital art to the pink trees scattered around, it looked incredible. It was fun to simply look around and take in our surroundings before checking out the menu. After looking at the menu we decided to get a steak as well because it looked so delicious. Our waiter although kind was not very attentive and it took around 15 minutes to get our water and for him to check in on us. He eventually did apologize unprompted for his lack of care that was provided however didn't change his service. As for the steak it was delicious, honestly one of the best steaks I've ever had. I would go back just for the steak and have made reservations for the future. The chocolate cake was extremely rich and also very good (the picture doesn't do it justice). Overall the food was fantastic but the service was lackluster. For peace of mind I'm joking to chalk it up to it being late at night and my brother and I looking young. Alright so after my first visit in December it was necessary to do another check in. Me and two friends came in for a 6pm dinner reservation on a Thursday. There was a special of buy two entrees get two cocktails $25 and below for free. Unfortunately, unlike my first review the things that made this restaurant special seem to have been short lived. Starting off, the complimentary valet is no longer complimentary, it's $9. There is also no longer a door man to greet you. And the greatest disappointment was the absence of any live performers. My group and I wanted to sit in the bar area to get a different experience. The entire bar is really lovely and spacious, however we were placed in the far left corner and we remained to be the only party seated for the almost 2 hr reservation. It was just odd to place us there when the whole bar area was available. Next the food, yes it's good, but let's be honest it's not worth the prices. $89 for pasta and lobster is astronomical. There has been some menu changes since December and I was heartbroken when the kimchi fritters were no longer featured. It was easier to justify the price when you have the performers and luxury amenities. This establishment needs to incorporate a happy hour or it's just not gonna last. I would also suggest better features to be viewed on the LED screens. Some discovery channel style videos would be amazing, not this cheap 2D animation. read more

Made a reservation for sunday and it was not busy at all. The restaurant is absolutely breathtaking. We were seated pretty quickly. Andre was our server and he was absolutely amazing. To drink we started off with the purple dragon 10/10 and another drink pictures but i forgot the name it comes with a bubble. To eat the hamashi shiso 8/10 and im not a raw food person, tom kha prawns 9/10, hokkaido scallops were good but did not come out hot, thai coconut creamed corn 9/10 and the wagyu fried rice 10/10. This is the third time eating at this restaurant. There were only three of us we decided to bring our young daughter here to try the food . The ambience is gorgeous. We wanted to eat here because we were looking for places to bring 50 of our top sales team for dinner. We were extremely disappointed for a few reasons. 1. The service, the restaurant was less than 40% occupied , yet we only saw our server three times , once when he took our order. 2nd time to ask about my drink which I said was too sweet. Which he agrees and said that was a common feedback for the how to train your dragon drink. The third was when he brought us our check after we asked the manager to get it for us... Whenever we needed something we had to ask the folks clearing our table to get it for us. 2. I ordered the scallops and tiger shrimp, There were three scallops and three shrimp. When I bit into the scallop it had a pneumonia taste and smell to it. Which means that the scallop was no good. After having food poisoning I know what to look for when it comes to seafood.... I communicated this to the manager he then took the plate and said he would talk to the Chef. He never came back after that. Nor did the server mention anything about having scallops that were rotten... 3. When I received the bill I was charged for the scallops and the shrimp dish, when I asked the manager why you were still on my bill. He said that if it's 50% eaten that they can't do anything about that. It would've been nice if he were to communicate that with me as we weren't looking for a free meal but rather looking for some type of service. No apology of any kind was given. 4. Lastly they charge gratuity for a party at three people. Which I do not mind paying if I actually get good service. this visit was a disappointment unfortunately we will not be coming here again. read more
