    Rattlesnake and cactus fries
    Kelley C.

This place has a fun ambiance and I do like the barn feel and the sunset views. However, the food here is just so mediocre. In the bbq platter, the chicken is dry and the potatoes were so salty it was unedible. Their rattlesnake and cactus fries were not bad though. Service was also decent.

Kudos to managing to sit, feed, and sort out payments for 200+ hockey families! We had people pre-order Thanksgiving meals, order off the menu, and order family style as well. The barn was very cute and rustic + there was a separate bathroom which was nice. Lots of space for the restless to move around after they were done eating. The drinks were tasty; prices were reasonable. Food was average but the ambiance and atmosphere were great & I think that's the main reason for going. The slide next to the band in the center of the restaurant was a highlight for the kids. Parking is ample and you walk into the multilevel restaurant thinking you've entered Frontierland in Disneyland. If you're in the area with a large group...I highly recommend! Chaotic and fun experience!

Rustler's Rooste is all about the experience, and it definitely delivers. The ambiance is great -- fun, lively, and full of that classic Phoenix charm, with amazing views that make the drive up totally worth it. We came with a group of 11, and it was an awesome spot for a celebration. It's a perfect place for a party or group gathering, with lots of energy, music, and that "only-in-Phoenix" kind of vibe. The food was okay, nothing mind-blowing, but honestly the atmosphere more than makes up for it.

    Cotton candy

This is the perfect place for families, tourists, locals, couples, so that means all those that want to have some fun. The views of the mountains and city are lovely as well. Our little ones enjoyed the lady that came and made some animal balloons and the free cotton candy at the end of the meal too. There's a fun indoor slide that I can't wait for them to go on when they are older too. We sat inside by the window and got to enjoy the views. The weather was great so maybe next time we should just sit outside so the kids have some more space to run around. The food is ok, nothing to complain about. You get free salad, free cowboy beans, biscuits and fry bread with your meals. We got the sautéed shrimp plate and the rotisserie chicken and they were both ok. Please don't come with the high hopes of a fancy meal, just coming for the experience and views are well worth the visit!

Good things: the view is spectacular, our server was fun and checked in on us frequently, everyone was friendly and efficient, the decor and layout were unusual and interesting, the hot rolls with butter were tasty, lots of salad, we had a tableside magic show, the time with friends. Not so good: rotisserie chicken didn't have much flavor, the brisket was more liked overcooked roast, the dressing on the salad was skimpy and we could hardly taste it, the beans were so-so, the only veggies were high carb ones, the cost of the meals, it was really loud.

I brought my boyfriend here for his 40th birthday. I had called ahead and asked if they had availability for a good view and they said yes they would put a note about the birthday and the window view. It looks like there might have been an issue with the note because The hostess took us to a table that did not have a window. I did speak up and we got moved to the window, which was nice. The menu hasn't changed much since the last time I was there so that is good. The only thing that really did change was the price of the rattlesnake. It was probably 45% more. If I remember correctly from the last time. I did not get it this time since the server said it was $32 today. I also remember not liking the Perkley pair of cactus fries so for me it wasn't worth it to get it again even though I really like the rattlesnake. We ended up getting the burger and then the brisket sandwich with fries. The fries were pretty good and most of them were cooked perfectly and some of them were overcooked, but they do give a very hefty portion so that was a plus. The only couple of issues were the soggy bottom buns made eating them as a handheld pretty difficult. The second was the burger was cooked medium instead of medium rare. The view is stellar from here and I highly recommend coming a little bit before sunset and of course asking if there's a good view for your meal, especially if it's for a special occasion. I had no idea about the cotton candy, but I looked it up and saw that everybody gets one. That was a cool highlight. Neither of us have had cotton candy in a very, very, very long time so this was a cool treat. I'm giving it a 4 for the wonderful service and our server, Kendall, the view, and then the ent

Fun fun fun fun spot to come for a party, bachelor/bachelorette parties etc. Staff was a bit slow but it was packed so I can only imagine how hard they were working. Food was delicious, and the drinks were good. Get the smoked brisket definitely worth it. You can either sit down at normal dining or sit in the high tops and order just drinks and apps. There is live music a small dance floor, and a slide, with a pretty cool entrance. Fun for families with kids. Also fun bar games. Not a boring moment at this spot and it's a must try if you're in the area

Rustlers Rooste is like your Grand Dads Rowdy Steakhouse. Do not go here if you're expecting Quiet and Fine Dining unless you rent it out for private parties or events. It's great for the children. Great portions. But very touristy so be prepared for a long wait. You can grab a drink at the bar or look at the beautiful view though! The slide is iconic.

Been wanting to try this place. It wasn't busy, probably thanks to the Arizona summer! Got a great table by the window. (Which doesn't provide a sunset view, but a great city/mountain view' Had a fantastic server named Brooke Food was a bit pricy for what it was. Chicken fried steak was flavorful, but the sides were cold. Smoked sausage was pretty tasty and the bbq sauce was a great addition. The bacon jalapeño mac & cheese was dry and icky bland. Mixed drinks were pretty on point. We would come back with an event or big party during the winter months just to sit outside!

We came on a Saturday without a reservation and was seated pretty quickly, wait time was about 20 minutes. Our server was Kyle and he was really knowledgeable and very kind. He was fast and really funny. We got the fried mushrooms and they were amazing. We did the full slab of ribs and they were fall off the bone delicious. The double barrel margarita was so good and fresh. We will definitely come back. I cannot say enough positive things about this place. 5 stars all the way.

Our first time going to Rustler's Rooste and we LOVED it! Our server was so attentive and we experienced really great customer service! I read the reviews and decided to go with the prime rib sandwich. I would give it a 3.5/5 but my son got the Big Burger and that meat patty was huge. He gives it a 4/5. My husband got the nachos and that was a GINORMOUS plate of nachos! 4/5 - For the price it was really good and a good amount of brisket. What I love most is the entrees come with the DELICIOUS bread rolls with cinnamon butter, a really good family size salad to share, beans and fresh cotton candy at the end! We got green apple cotton candy (ask for the cotton candy if you don't get it!) and it was delicious! The ambiance was 5/5 - loved the band playing and we got a window seat with a beautiful view!!

We stayed at the Arizona Grand Resort and took the shuttle to this restaurant and it was such a neat experience! The place is very unique, the staff are all very friendly, there's a Long Horn greeting you at the entrance and a fun slide for the kids (or some adults) to skip the stairs. The food was okay, the brisket was a little too greasy and the salmon was NOT good but the mashed potatoes and the ribs tasted great and the plate sizes are huge! They also have a very cool cotton candy birthday to celebrate those having birthdays! The view is also pretty good and they had a band playing. Overall, we enjoyed it very much mainly because it's very family friendly and it has a very unique decor.

My 5 star reviews are far and few but this place totally deserved it. The food wasn't the WOW factor, although it was very good, it was our server Kyle! He was fanfrickentastic. Always always checked on us. Made great recommendations and just made us laugh all night. He was such a hoot. He deserves a raise. Or a performance bonus lol. About the food, it was the first time I tried rattlesnake bites and cactus fries. Both were very "interesting" glad I tried them! Oh, there's a slide in this restaurant lol. Yeah a legit SLIDE. Also there was a live band during dinner. Super good place to go for an entertaining dinner

What time does dancing usually start?

    5:30 p.m. until close!

What days are slower during the week?

Never really busy during the week. We just visited on a weekend at 6pm and didn't have an issue being sat quickly. Of course we regretted it cause the food wasn't any good.

Is there live bands on Thursday? I was there Monday night and also band?

I visited on a Tuesday night with a convention and live band. Try their website or calling. Hope this helps.

Do they still have live bands and dancing?

    Yes

I see that you have stairs and a slide, is there an elevator for handicap accessibility?

When I went I saw no elevators at the restaurant. There are stairs to go up and stairs to go down.

When is the funnest time to bring someone from out of state? Best time for live music with our meal?

B4 covid live bands on fri thru sun. Funniest. I wud say when ever.. just tell the staff or tell them its some one bday just to embarressed them..

Will outdoor patio seating be available when the weather cools?

    It will be!

Is the indoor slide open to use? Asking for my kids,... and myself.

It is! We are just asking that guests go one at a time and follow social distancing while using the slide!

For steak entrees, are you able to switch sides or is it only with corn and carrots?

    You can switch sides!

Are there gluten-free options on the menu?

There's meats, salads, and at least a couple of glutey-free sides including baked beans and corn on the cob, but here's the menu: http://www.rustlersrooste.com/menu/index.html

Perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and served with the kind of confidence that only comes from a kitchen that knows exactly what it's doing. Every bite reminded me why Steak 44 has such a strong reputation. The sides are hearty and generous, the kind you want to share but secretly wish you didn't have to. Whether it's potatoes, vegetables, or something richer, each dish feels crafted with the same care as the steaks themselves. The service was exceptional from start to finish. When he saw we didn't get one, he told whoever it was and one was brought to me. The woman said happy birthday and if you're gluten free you can share it with the others (had a table of 8). What?! We didn't say anything at the time but after thinking about it I was a bit annoyed, especially when one of the friends we were with also felt it was disappointing. It had always been great all the other times we went. Not sure if this was an off night or if the restaurant has gone downhill. Either way, it was an upsetting experience.

Arizona has an under-seasoning epidemic but Vecina has comfortably beaten the allegations. Flavors…read morewere all on point and as expected from the components on the menu, which doesn't happen often in Phoenix. The Papas Verde had an addicting tang from the tomatillo salsa but were brilliantly balanced out by the chorizo and asadero cheese. The shaved brussel salad could have used a little more date and chile to balance out the vinegar but I was pleased either way. The elote was probably the only thing that fell short execution-wise as I didn't get much of the chorizo flavor, but the cook on the corn itself was perfect. The Gambas al Ajillo are absolutely a must-get. Juicy, sweet shrimp with an unexpected kick from the butter sauce and unsurprisingly great bread from Noble. The Tlayuda was a little heavy on the lettuce, but the smoked pork and bean puree combo were so flavorful that it helped balance out the richness with texture and freshness. I also loved the crispy contrast from the fried tortilla. We ended with the Concha and Mango Sticky Rice ice cream which sounded pretty simple but was quite impressive in its own right. The ice cream was a touch too frozen, but it ended up working out well with the crunchy cornflake coating and lightly warmed, pillowy concha to make a really satisfying ending to our meal. Service was excellent and the patio was well-lit and had heaters ready for colder weather. Vecina is on the pricier side for sure, but you will not be disappointed.

As my friend said, the white bean puree here is a non-negotiable. It was my FAVORITE menu item…read more Only complaint was...give me another flour tortilla - ha. We ordered a bottle of wine and went to town on: White Bean Puree * Crispy Short Rib | Herb Salad | Flour Tortilla: Karaage * Aji Amarillo | Citrus Gastrique | Togarashi | Lime Elote * Chorizo Butter | Lime Creme Fraiche | Toasted Chiles Romaine * Buttermilk Dressing | Mexican Sriracha | Parmesan | Noble Bread Breadcrumbs Gambas al Ajillo * Wild Shrimp Co. Mexican Shrimp | Paprika Garlic Butter | Serrano Cruda | Garlic Noble Bread - this was the only dish that was not my favorite. SUPER flavorful but I wanted a more.. 'traditional' tapas Gambas al Ajillo flavor aka less paprika please. Saudero tacos (a brisket confit suadero tacos with a chile jam, aguacate, serrano cruda, toasted sesame, fresnos and micro cilantro) We sat on the patio for a wonderful AZ spring evening. The service was great. I also enjoyed their extensive tequila and mezcal menu. The only downside is the parking -- it's pretty small and shared with Lou Malnati's next door!

Say hello to your new favorite downtown restaurant! Wow, where to begin?…read more Service was amazing - they even printed out a small card with our reservation name on it which was presented on our table. Such a cute touch and very thoughtful. Our waitress was super knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. The spot is small and chic. It's very intimate dining so you'll be sitting close to the table next to you. Luckily, it's a quiet and calm space, so no need to worry about noise. The food was incredible. The salmon crudo was possibly the best crudo I have ever had in my entire life. So fresh and the flavors were balanced to perfection. The risotto changed my life... it was so delicious I couldn't even believe it. The only thing I would recommend skipping was the octopus tostada - not my favorite and a little fishy for my liking. Personal preference of course! The duck tasted great and was beautifully presented, but it wasn't my favorite. Again, I'm not a huge meat eater so take my advice on this one with a grain of salt. Overall an extremely romantic and special meal.

It was pretty good but certainly not worth the titular pretty penny price--and we didn't even get…read morethe recommended 8 dishes, which is, like, the entire menu. To start, the menu is a bit puzzling. It's kind of like a handful of Asian-inspired dishes, a handful of Mexican/South American, and a handful of French or New American. But there's not enough of each to chart a course through one type of cuisine. So, basically you're gonna have a cultural melange meal. Hamachi crudo was really good and fairly unique. The halibut was excellently prepared but not particularly innovative in any way I could tell. Zucchini had goat cheese, which wasn't immediately clear from the description, so I didn't enjoy the rude surprise I got when I took my first bite, and didn't eat anymore, as I really despise the stuff. So that was a waste. Not a dig on the dish, just a personal thing I wish I had more notice of. There were other issues though. The wine list was exceptionally small, They were out of the bread, which is supposedly a must-try. And then we were going to get the steak but the folks next to us advised against it, showing their cut that had zero fat. They said it was leather. On that point, the tables are SUPER CLOSE. Like, a couple inches apart. You hear everything and almost can't avoid getting entwined into others' conversation. We liked the people we were next to, but be aware that it's an unintentionally awkward communal experience that's not well-suited to a date night. The service was pretty good, they put out a nice printed greeting with the reservation name, and give you a sparkling wine toast. But considering the price and overall experience we had, I'd pass and not come back.
