We love this low-key steak house! The views are amazing but that's not even the best thing about Rustlers Rooste. There's the long-horn steer, the rattlesnake bites and of course the slide. Whether you want a quick bite or a romantic dinner, Rustlers Rooste does not disappoint. I've been dining here for as long as I can remember (a lady never tells her age) and have never had a bad experience. The ribs, steaks, burgers, salmon, shrimp, chicken, etc are always perfect. I highly recommend the 9 layer chocolate cake. Not only is is decadent, it's the perfect addition to any celebration. We recently tried Rustler's Rooste in Phoenix while celebrating our oldest son's birthday. The restaurant is beautiful, with absolutely amazing views and charming, updated Western décor. A live country band was preparing to perform, adding even more to the fun, rustic atmosphere. We started with a generous serving of brisket nachos. Unfortunately, the shredded brisket was quite dry. Our son ordered the beef ribs, which were also unnecessarily dry and rather bland. My husband and I shared the Cowboy Platter, which came with very generous portions of brisket, pork ribs, chicken, and sausage. The sausage was delicious, and the brisket was moist, although it lacked flavor. My daughter-in-law ordered the sirloin and said it was delicious. It also appeared to be cooked perfectly to her request. Overall, the ambience and views were wonderful, but the food left a bit to be desired--and unfortunately, I couldn't add enough salt to make up for the lack of seasoning. We were among the first guests served that day, so perhaps the kitchen was still getting into its rhythm. We will definitely give Rustler's Rooste another try and hope this was simply an off day. read more

Nothing but an overpriced tourist trap of a steakhouse with a slide and a view of the city. Parking is terrible. We fortunately got one at the top or else we would have had to walk from the lower parking lot as the shuttle was not running on a busy Friday night The server was more on the rude side. I understand we had a party of roughly 30 but it took forever to place a drink order and then forever to actually order. My prime rib was good but not 40$ good. My daughter Mac and cheese was cold by the time she got it. This place has a fun ambiance and I do like the barn feel and the sunset views. However, the food here is just so mediocre. This place was near my hotel, the Grand Arizona, and was the only other spot I hadn't eaten at so I gave it a go! Plenty of parking, but I took a golf cart from the hotel. I was greeted by a LIVE BULL outside the entrance! (I now feel very guilty for ordering steak....) Plenty of clean bathrooms and this place is MASSIVE! I sat at the bar but it appears to have at least two floors. Very fun, live music was playing that added to the fun cowboys atmosphere. Very friendly servers and great service. I ordered a lemon drop martini and the prime rib for dinner. It comes with their famous beans and salad and bread and corn and carrots! I was also talked into ordering mashed potatoes which looks like it could feed a small country! I don't typically eat a lot but if you do-this is your spot!! Definitely come here hungry!!! I heard they are very accommodating for large groups and friends from my conference came with a big group and were sat immediately. Jesus was my bartender and he was great!! Kudos to managing to sit, feed, and sort out payments for 200+ hockey families! We had people pre-order Thanksgiving meals, order off the menu, and order family style as well. The barn was very cute and rustic + there was a separate bathroom which was nice. Lots of space for the restless to move around after they were done eating. The drinks were tasty; prices were reasonable. Food was average but the ambiance and atmosphere were great & I think that's the main reason for going. The slide next to the band in the center of the restaurant was a highlight for the kids. I brought my boyfriend here for his 40th birthday. I had called ahead and asked if they had availability for a good view and they said yes they would put a note about the birthday and the window view. It looks like there might have been an issue with the note because The hostess took us to a table that did not have a window. I did speak up and we got moved to the window, which was nice. The menu hasn't changed much since the last time I was there so that is good. The only thing that really did change was the price of the rattlesnake. It was probably 45% more. If I remember correctly from the last time. I did not get it this time since the server said it was $32 today. I also remember not liking the Perkley pair of cactus fries so for me it wasn't worth it to get it again even though I really like the rattlesnake. We ended up getting the burger and then the brisket sandwich with fries. The fries were pretty good and most of them were cooked perfectly and some of them were overcooked, but they do give a very hefty portion so that was a plus. The only couple of issues were the soggy bottom buns made eating them as a handheld pretty difficult. The second was the burger was cooked medium instead of medium rare. The view is stellar from here and I highly recommend coming a little bit before sunset and of course asking if there's a good view for your meal, especially if it's for a special occasion. I had no idea about the cotton candy, but I looked it up and saw that everybody gets one. That was a cool highlight. Neither of us have had cotton candy in a very, very, very long time so this was a cool treat. (Which doesn't provide a sunset view, but a great city/mountain view' Had a fantastic server named Brooke Food was a bit pricy for what it was. Matteo was a great server and helpful with suggestions and feedback on our questions about the menu. You should not leave here hungry because the portions are so large. The steak and the prime rib were cooked to perfection, tendered and seasoned well. The family style salad actually had enough dressing (at most places we have to request more dressing). The view from the restaurant was spectacular and definitely beat the standard view of a parking lot with most restaurants. My o my complaint would be the pacing of the meal. Our salad bowl arrived before we had even finished the first potato skin from our appetizer and then dinner arrived before we had time for the salad. We asked if we can split our bill and the waiter and manager told us they could not do that . Made no sense we were over charged . Which days later we disputed the charge with our banks. We stayed at the Arizona Grand Resort and took the shuttle to this restaurant and it was such a neat experience! The place is very unique, the staff are all very friendly, there's a Long Horn greeting you at the entrance and a fun slide for the kids (or some adults) to skip the stairs. The food was okay, the brisket was a little too greasy and the salmon was NOT good but the mashed potatoes and the ribs tasted great and the plate sizes are huge! They also have a very cool cotton candy birthday to celebrate those having birthdays! The view is also pretty good and they had a band playing. When we ordered the appetizer it took almost 30 minutes to get it and then the waiter said they forgot to put it in the order for our appetizer. The potato skins were good, but the salad they gave us tastes like it's very cheaply made. The steak I ordered lacked a lot of seasoning. When the waiter asked how the food was I said it was okay but everything needs seasoning and he said "oh the salt is right there."
