Ice cream sandwich
Annie D.

Went here for a friends birthday! It was a Friday night and we didn't have a reservation but it still wasn't very busy. We waited about an hour for a table, which was fine but it was also odd because no one else was sat while we waited so not sure what the wait was for. Either way, we got drinks at the bar while we waited. We were sat but had to bring our own water to the table. The service was slow which was once again weird because it wasn't very busy so they must be understaffed. For food, overall it was good but I ordered the Steak Frites which were tasty but I found them to be over priced for the amount of food you got. I believe it was $24 for the dish. The ice cream sandwich was delicious though and was a decent deal. I would try this place again but don't have the highest expectations.

I made a reservation for Thr3 Jack for a Saturday evening. This area does not offer a wide array of parking options and we did spend lots of time looking for a parking space before our meal. In hindsight, the reservation was unnecessary as Thr3 Jack was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night. We were promptly seated at a booth and ordered drinks. We chose to share the nachos which were really delicious and filling. For my main I ordered the caesar salad which was great, the perfect amount of dressing and parmesan. In addition to a large restaurant, Thr3 Jack offers simulated golf. This was not something we tried, but looked fun, and would try this in the future.

Is this art or is this Roasted Cauliflower? It's both.

This is by a very long shot the best restaurant on the block but it's vaguely in a shadow so no one goes. What a shame. Everything I've had here is fantastic. My favorites are the harissa cauliflower, the moist flavorful lamb meatballs with tatziki, and the BUCKET OF WARM MINI CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES, dear lord they are incredible. Patio seating, indoor/outdoor bar, golf weirdly. Very clean.

Such a yummy cocktail!

I've been here a couple times. I've used the golf simulator twice and I've come for food 2-3 different times. The service is always pretty great. Both the inside and outside our great spots to enjoy your food/drink!

We had a couple coupons for free happy hour items and decided to try out Thr3 Jack for the first time. From the beginning to end we thought the customer service was great. They checked up on us multiple times and made sure if there were any concerns. The food was great too! The HH menu had a good variety and they all sounded interesting. We ended up getting the smoked chicken nachos which we thought could've had more chicken and sauce. The wings were really tasty though, I really enjoyed the char-grilled cook with the runny sauce. The burger was also a highlight where the toasted bun & sauce elevated the flavors. I'll have to try some other items next time.

I've visited many times since my last review and have continued to have great experiences. I've come twice with large groups for dinner parties and they can handle groups no problem. It always feels like a special place with the nice ambiance in the bar/restaurant area and makes for fun celebratory photos for a special occasion with friends.

A golf-themed sports bar in trendy north loop. We stopped in for lunch on a weekday and were two of just a handful of people there-I think it's more of a happy hour and beyond spot. The smashed burgers we enjoyed for lunch were good and I liked the crispy fries. Parking is in a huge ramp directly above the restaurant or on the street although they are set back quite a ways from Washington Will have to try dinner sometime

Very cool place! We went here for their open house event and was able to check out the luxurious venue and fun golf simulators. Breezy outdoor seating available with a fun vibe surrounding area of businesses and park area. Tasty food options with a variety of selections. Golf simulators were very entertaining but you need to get used to their "touch". Staff was incredibly friendly and outgoing - a rate treat for downtown restaurants. Overall a great place for a lively, entertaining hangout spot!

This place has to be a hidden gem. We enjoyed appetizers, drinks, and eventually dinner! The roasted cauliflower was to die for. Service was great as well. We had both a simulator assistant and a waiter who attended to us regularly and gave great recommendation. The indoor golf simulator was a perfect activity for a freezing evening. Husbands played and enjoyed St Andrews The Old Course on the simulator.

Great atmosphere. Delicious food. Fast service. We stopped by for a quick eat and the staff were friendly and attentive. There's also indoor golfing so definitely a great place to hangout with friends.

Breakfast Sandwich and mimosa

I haven't gone indoor golfing here but I had brunch with my friends here and it was definitely a cool spot to catch up. I wish there was happy hour Sunday for brunch on mimosas and such but it made sense for my table to split a Champaign bottle instead of like one mimosa.

Turkey pastrami benedict and savory oatmeal flapjacks

Came for brunch and their food was absolutely delicious. The benedict was so rich and creamy, and the mustard caviar added a nice kick of flavor. Flapjacks were amazing and I especially loved their honey habanero sauce - it's pretty spicy though!

Wandered into this place in the north loop. Look mostly like a drinking establishment and was golf-based as they had a huge golf area where you can drive balls into a video screen and a very large bar with golf memorabilia. I had the spicy fried chicken sandwich. It was pretty good. The cauliflower was just OK and the calamari was pretty good. Price point was decent and the food was better than average

We had heard about Prohibition before, and given its historical significance in the Foshay Tower,…read morewe had to check it out! Located inside the Foshay Tower, there's street and valet parking available! We entered through the W hotel lobby and took the elevator up to the 27th floor! We were met by a fun, retro-inspired lounge with many couches and tables available in a 360-degree set up. It has Prohibition-themed decor, but I wouldn't quite call it a speakeasy, as there wasn't any guise to entering or accessing the space. My only critique is that the space is quite dated, but not in a cool way. It could really use an update to the paint and interior to maintain itself as a "destination" versus just another hotel bar with a view. The bartenders were quite friendly and helpful during our visit. We had an Old Fashioned and a Paper Plane during our visit! Both cocktails were absolutely delicious and perfectly made. Now, at around $26 each, I would expect that level. Overall, a cool, historical spot to grab a drink!

Their drinks are well-made and aren't shy on the spirits. Take the elevator to the 27th floor. It's up to you how you figure out how to get to that floor (suggest asking the front desk.) The elevators open up right into the bar. It's very cool.

Star Bar & Bistro - SHRIMP AVOCADO TOAST

I come to MSP often for work, and it's always a challenge to find a decent, healthy meal late in…read morethe evening downtown. Fortunately, the Earth Bowl at Star fits the bill and will probably be a go-to on future trips. It's a nicely seasoned, balanced, and clean-tasting assortment of greens, other vegetables, grains, and optional protein (shrimp was a good choice). And the generous pour of cab sauv complemented it well. Food aside, the space is very inviting and calming (and geometrically interesting, being circular in design), perfect for catching up on some reading during my meal. Service was also pleasant. The only thing is that there wasn't much else on the menu that appealed to me personally, so I'm hoping the bowl isn't something temporary or seasonal. In any case, I look forward to my next visit.

They even have hh in Friday. There's a lot to choose from on the hh menu. My friend and I shared wings, crab cakes, Brussels sprouts, and the whipped feta toast. All were delicious and portions are generous. Wings had a nice crisp and were substantial, not tiny. The whipped feta toast is a sleeper though, and prob the one I enjoyed most. Lots of accoutrements, super tasty. The sidecar was great and so was the Benedictine Manhattan cocktail. Strong but well balanced. We were greeted with a warm and thoughtful welcome, esp considering what's happening in our city rn. Staff were friendly and service was prompt. Nice, upscale ambiance and decor. It makes for a great after work happy hour downtown or a great spot for a more formal date night. Located inside the Indigo hotel. Plenty of on street metered parking on surrounding blocks. Will be back.

Went on Thursday night at 12. Not super a lot of people there. The dance floor was pretty empty…read more Seemed like most people were out on the patio. There were a bunch of different rooms, which all had different music playing. Didn't explore that much. Mostly just out on the patio and on the dance floor, but I saw pool and other bar games. There was also a photo booth, which we used. Overpriced, but I guess you have to expect that from photo booths. Drinks were so cheap ($4)! And good dance music from the DJ. Biggest complaint is that there is only one stall in the bathroom (the rest are urinals). So it was always busy because obviously there are a lot of people who are trying to use the stall. Had to plan your pees.

Had my first experience at The Saloon for Twin Cities Leather Weekend early November!…read more The thing that struck me most is the impressive square footage of the place. It essentially has four-ish connected but separate "chambers." You come in on the corner into the first one which has a typical bar set-up with lots of bar stools to sit at. Further back there's more table-and-chair style seating because it's nearby their kitchen where they serve hot food; there's also a pool table and darts throwing in this section. Deeper in there's a couple more bars in smaller segmented dual rooms, which is nearby the main restroom (there are several, at least three restroom locations inside). Quite a lot of urinals in this establishment, but a lack of stalls to sit and do your business, which was a little frustrating for someone like me whose equipment requires sitting to pee. No gender segregation though, which I'd expect in this day and age of a queer bar, but still nice to see. The final room is by far the largest, as it has a bar but also a large open area like a dance hall and stage. For this particular weekend it was utilized for hosting the contest, but also a puppy mosh (iykyk). Even as big as it was, it was PACKED during the contest portion of the weekend, making it difficult to see or hear the contest. (I think they could use a more up to date sound system.) We got food while we were there, and it was great. I got a BLT for just $9 and it was piled high with bacon- they did not skimp. Eating it all was a challenge for li'l ol' me. Meals come with ruffled chips that are very salty, but you can upgrade to other side options like french fries, onion rings (which my husband did), etc. for $2. The food was honestly affordable, especially for the amount they give you; I think they do this to discourage you from leaving the bar to go somewhere else for food, which is a solid strategy, haha. Parking around here is... tough, as you might expect in downtown. There is a nearby garage though just across the street behind the bar that I think is just $5 for evenings? I'm sure I'll be back for future events. I myself am not a casual bar-goer, so I don't really go out to these types of establishments unless they're hosting something fun. Always nice when a place is a community gathering space in addition to their regular business. I appreciate this place exists and serves the queer/kink community in that way.
