The moment our Uber dropped us off here and we saw the neighborhood and the friendly doorman who welcomed us to the hotel, we realized we were at a classy joint. First of all this hotel is situated in a part of downtown Chicago that has high end stores similar to rodeo drive in Beverly Hills. I guess it's a part of downtown called Michigan avenue. We didn't know that when we booked it but this is a super cool location to walk around and hang out at. I wish we had stayed here longer than one day! When we checked in we were greeted with two complimentary bottles of water and there were 2 more in the room as well. They had a beautiful bar and restaurant which we didn't get to use at the hotel. When we got to the room we were delighted by the modern decor, the floor to ceiling windows all around the room with views of multiple sides of the street was probably our favorite part of the room, and the beautiful interior designing. The bathroom was our 2nd favorite part, so most bathrooms only have tile in the shower if you're lucky or next to the soaking tub just high enough to catch the splash. This bathroom had the tile all the way to practically the ceiling. They even had hex tiles along the floor which is super rare because that's expensive to do in such a large square footage like that. The tub had insane water pressure and filled up quick, and the shower had a nice huge shower head that made for a great shower experience. Even the toilet was bougier and better than usual. We were also delighted to see two robes ready for us to use. Great experience we would definitely come back on our next trip here

Flew up to Chicago for 3 nights for my birthday. This is a stay I've been anticipating for quite a few months and it def left me wanting and expecting more. I've been to Chicago more than my fair share of times. Especially back when round trip flights from NYC were under $100 on random weekends. It was an easy 90 minute flight and you got to experience one of the world's iconic cities. This time I decided to stay in Gold Coast, an area I haven't explored much before but was def more wealthy than other areas I've been. Check in did take some time but a room was available early so that was a plus. They did let it slip that there were balloons up in the room lol. View was spectacular and the room was large by Chicago standards. Bathroom was also very nice. Went to pop some waters into the mini fridge and it was not only leaking quite a bit of water, but the fridge was warm. Engineer came up, seemingly fixed the fridge but left the puddle of water lol. Turns out the fridge wasn't fixed so they brought another mini fridge while we were out and stuck that on the floor next to the bed. Sheesh. Lobby is busy, dark and a bit small. I never like hotels where the lobby is packed with people consistently. I want to chill in the lobby in peace and/or get to the elevator to my room. Brunch spot here is popular as is the one across the street. Elevators are also a bit dated and slow. Had a drink at the bar downstairs, interesting set up. Wine could have been a bit colder and a better pour. Also of note, no turndown service is provided here. Didn't expect that as most 4-5 star hotels offer it. This was my first stay at a Thompson and it left me disappointed given the price range, area and level. I wouldn't stay here again but that's also because all of the restaurants we dined at were mostly in the West Loop area.

The Thompson is perfectly located near shopping and dining in Chicago. The room was comfortable and clean. The view of the city was spectacular. The service was impressive and the doorman, who keeps dog treats in his pocket, and introduced me to dogs in the neighborhood, was so kind! We did have some confusion at checkout attempting to split the rooms with my sister and her husband. It seemed like the person checking us out was in a hurry, and mid-understood that we wanted to split the bill, and not just pick up the parking, which was ours alone. We ended up having to work it out between us, but it would've been SO much easier and more convenient for them to do it at check out. We'd love to know where the pillows came from. So comfy!

Great hotel in Gold Coast of Chicago. The location of this hotel is perfect for anyone that visits the city. It has a great bar located in the back of the lobby. Very good restaurant is also located in the hotel but in case you feel like exploring a little there is a half a dozen of restaurants within one block radius. Rooms including the bathroom are clean. The floor to ceiling windows in our room made our room feel so much bigger. Don't forget to request complementary robes. Our room only had one when we checked in but upon request the housekeeping brought another one quickly.

Very nice spot in a cool area with lots of things going on. The decor inside is modern and the staff are super helpful. The room is super clean, and the bed is very comfortable to sleep on. I will come here again for sure.

The location, location, and location...! You just cannot beat the location. Once you are there, you know you are so close to all those cool restaurants/bars. As others mentioned, one of the two elevators has been out (for awhile), but I did not have to wait for a very long time - except for one time (about 10 min). All the staff members I encountered were very friendly and easy to talk to, so I did not have any other issues.

This boutique hotel is located right next to everything - a short stroll to Michigan Avenue, Lake Michigan views and residential brownstones, boutique shops, coffee spots and iconic Chicago restaurants. The Thompson Chicago gets my vote! We only stayed one night but our accommodations, linens, towels, bed, bathroom, staff, hotel lobby and restaurants were five star.

    Nice bar!

This is a very nice hotel with a great location in the Gold Coast area. Unfortunately, we had a large amount of cash stolen that was in plain view in our room. We did not realize that the hotel had daily housekeeping services. In all of our travels since the pandemic, no hotel has had housekeeping services without requesting it first. The theft was our fault, not the hotel's. I left the money in full view and should never have done that. Our room was extremely nice. We had a fantastic shower with a tropical overhead outlet and a shower wand. It was like everything had been refurbished within the past few months. The bathroom was great. Instead of individual toiletries, there were large bottles of shampoo, gel, and conditioner in the shower. They were quite thick and thus difficult to pump out, especially if you had wet hands and had to hold the bottle. This was the first hotel we can remember having a hardwood floor. It was good-looking. We never ate at the restaurant but the bar was quite nice. One thing that was interesting, is that there were always two or three employees by the front door but they never would open the front door for you. It made us wonder what their job was.

We stayed for one night Christmas Eve and loved the whole vibe of the hotel. We were upgraded to a Jr Suite for our family and our girls enjoyed the big tub and the extra space. The view was fantastic and the breakfast was delicious. We'll definitely be back on our next Chicago visit. It feels like a small cozy hotel with warmth and little nooks and crannies to hang out. The location is perfect and the staff are friendly and super helpful.

This is my first trip to Chicago since pre-COVID. During that time, I decided that supporting AirBNB is no longer a moral option. I wanted to stay somewhere close the major expressways, walkable with lots of food and shopping options, and still felt neighbourhood-ish. Thompson Chicago was perfect. My stay was 9 days so I got a terrific per-day rate. Cheaper than AirBNB - that was a surprise. Room is beautiful; they upgraded me to a high floor upon check-in! Nice. Good free coffee in the lobby if you don't make your own in the room. Comfy bed, good linen, nice terry bathrobe, nice hard floor, no ooky carpeting. Best of all was staff. The guys at the front, car and luggage, were friendly and cheery and remembered me every day. Thank you, Sam, for your big smiles every day. I'll stay here again and again.

My husband and I stayed here on the New Year's Eve Eve. We were both extremely satisfied with the service we received by the staff. The lobby is super cozy with a fireplace and very welcoming. Our king bedroom was big compared to other hotels we've stayed at. Very roomy. Great view. Pillows and bed were so comfortable!

    Do you have parking?

    It's valet.

Do all the rooms come with a mini fridge? Or is it something you can request?

My room (13th floor) had one but it had a lock/key and was already full of booze to buy. I don't think there was extra room to store leftovers (if that's what you need it for).

This hotel was located within the loop near the river, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are basic and small. We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago.

I want to say that I have had my eye on this hotel for a while now after looking for Hilton hotel locations with a peloton bike, which this one has. Other than that, I loved that the location of this hotel sits in the heart of Chicago, surrounding a plethora of activities which made it the perfect choice for hotel stay to celebrate. Okay, it was an experience going up to the lobby area to check in at this hotel, a blonde moment as I am known for if you follow my reviews. The lobby is located on the 4th floor, so be sure to choose "L" for the lobby because there is no 4th floor button listed in the elevator. Me and two other hotel guests had an adventure going up to the lobby area after trying to figure out where the 4th floor button was. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and the receptionist giving me my room key. For your information, check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out ends at 12:00 PM! If you have the Hilton honors application, there is the opportunity to check in with the application, choosing your room, and receiving a digital key, which will allow you to go to your room contactless without seeing a receptionist upon your arrival. I have not used this method, but if you are interested in no contact whatsoever then you can use it with the Hilton Honors application. After locating and entering my room, I thought to myself this is fancy once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! There was a variation of vibrant colors in the room from its curtains to the headboard of the king-size bed, the carpet, and a gold chair that looked like something out of your grandmother's house. Out of all, I just could not take my eyes off the curtains which reminded me of cherry blossoms because of the colors. Inside the bathroom there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting my face and body. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, safe, comforter, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, and USB and AC plugins attached to either the headboard of the bed, lamps, or the television cabinet, which added a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn Majestic, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I must say that I was pleased to see several dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, a decent selection of workout machines, and two peloton fitness bikes which charmed me out of my panties once I spotted them. And oh, honey did I enjoy it on my birthday with the lovely Hannah Frankson as my peloton instructor, who put my legs through torture during her low impact workout. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served daily from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM. For you all visiting the city of Chicago, there are plentiful sights, activities, and restaurants within a radius of Hampton Inn Majestic. As a resident, a few that I adore are Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago! Next door is the CIBC Theatre, which I noticed upon my initial arrival at the hotel. And if you are looking to explore the city or outer part of the city, the Chicago Union Station, and CTA Train Station are very accessible to-and-from. I would surely book Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in downtown Chicago. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G

Truly a 5 star experience at The Langham!…read more I was lucky enough to be gifted a stay and had an incredible time. The hotel is so beautiful, I can see why it's ranked #3 in the nation. If you're able to splurge for club access at $200/person, you'll get to experience stunning city views, breakfast, afternoon tea, snacks, unlimited cocktails, and evening bites. We were also sent a bottle of wine and snacks to our room. I loved that they have a free spa area where you can use the sauna, heated stone loungers, and cold showers. The pool was stunning and we enjoyed swimming, just wish the hot tub was hotter as it was lukewarm. The room was great as well with a Nespresso machine and relaxing tub. Every time we stepped out of the room we would come back to a nice surprise, the room would be cleaned or they would leave the water and ice. Very attentive customer service here. Overall it was nice to live in luxury for the night, highly recommend if you're looking to splurge and relax! Hope I'll be able to stay again someday.

The Langham is going down as one of my favorite hotels and arguably for sure top 5…read more The room was amazing and I was very impressed by the birthday set up my wife arranged with the hotel and a third party vendor. Our view was stunning and I loved I could see downtown and the river from our room. We booked the cinema suite for a cute movie night and I loved that. They had a cute popcorn station with candy and pop, plus you can order room service. The spa was amazing and the facilities were nice.

I've been to Miru many times and finally got to try out the hotel for a staycation…read more Pros: -I loved that they had two restaurant options in the hotel. Both have incredible views but I would definitely recommend having at least one meal on the Miru patio if you are there during nice weather. -I was most surprised by their massive gym and has stunning views. It's also open 24 hours. They offered Pilates classes as well for an extra fee. -the hotel is brand new and all the finishes are so high end. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hallways are huge and felt like a maze to navigate but it also added to feeling of privacy. -there were so many high end details that made it extra special (the cozy Frette bath robes, welcome drinks, treat box in the room upon arrival, and the accent lighting in the room). -the location. It's just across the river from the heart of Michigan ave on the north end of a residential development. You don't feel like you are in the middle of the chaos of the city but the park, lake front and river are footsteps away. Negatives: -view was underwhelming ( fourth floor river view . Might choose the park view next time. I'd also recommend not facing the river as there was lots of honking/noise. -the room layout was awkward. They have this huge desk between the bed and tv. The full length mirror is a down a long hallway from bathroom/ where you would be getting dressed. -the room service comes on these huge heavy trays. The staff seemed like they were straining under the weight of it/ it was awkward. -I'd probably skip the spa/massage -$90/ day parking. Was able to do a spothero for about $40 next door.

This hotel has it all from Pilates, to Barre to Yoga to their Athletic Club and Pool…read more The only complaint is that it's not bunched with the other hotels, its toward the end of Wacker next to the lake. So, walking from the Blackbawks shop when it's 20° isn't an easy task. Also, I wasn't able to try the Tre Dita since I didn't book a reservation in advance. Hopefully, I can schedule a reservation in the future. Plus, since it was mid-December, the St Regis had their third annual 12 Days of Sabrage, which guests of honor perform the evening ritual of champagne sabrage, which celebrates the transition from day to night. They offered complimentary toast of champagne and a Vosges Haut-Chocolate truffle. The hotel encouraged everyone to bring a new or lightly used winter clothing for children in need.
