This is probably the best hotel I've ever stayed at, in the U.S. When checking in, the hotel front desk was so nice and kind, answering our questions about the room and whatnot. It felt like talking to a friend. Once we got to our room, I loved how clean it was, the clothes steamer that was provided, and the tall ceilings. The tv was pretty modern (I was able to use chrome cast to watch my stuff), and the bed was super comfy. The thing that stood out to me most is the filtered cold water from the sink. That is easily one of the best features I've ever seen at a hotel. Also the windows with the cushioned bench were super cool if you just wanted to look outside and enjoy the views. Location wise, it's like a 2 min walk from the loop so you can basically access any part of the city super easily. I like art and felt this hotel captured that so well. There was art everywhere I looked. In my room, the lobby, and even the elevator waiting bench. Also, the attached restaurant (Perilla) is easily the best attached restaurant I've ever eaten at connected to a hotel where I was staying. The food was excellent. All in all, I will definitely look back fondly on the time I spent here.

Great location! Perfect area to walk to many restaurants and bars, Chicago Theatre, shopping, etc. The staff at the front desk were super warm and welcoming when we arrived, and were so kind and attentive throughout our stay. For starters, I love the low lighting immediately upon entering. They have moody wall art around the space that really set the tone. There's also a few soft seating areas to lounge. Oh, and free lattes, coffee, tea & hot chocolate! Our room was spacious, and I really loved the tall ceilings. They really make a difference and give the space a *fancy* feel. There were two main things I didn't love: our door didn't have a security latch, just a regular lock, and our room had a connecting door to the next room, which was a bit unsettling since we had no idea who was on the other side. Other than that, the room was great, and I slept wonderfully. *The valet (through third party company) is very slow. Don't wait until the last minute to call/text for your car. Do it way ahead of time*

L7 Chicago by Lotte is in a prime location just South of the river, close walking distance to the Magnificent Mile, First Lady, and Cloud Gate. Our room was clean, spacious, and had a great river view. The reading nook was an unexpected treat. Great value and would definitely stay here again!

Back again because I loved it last year! L7 is located to restaurants, shopping, the theater district and the riverwalk. We have events at The Chicago Theater and CIBC Theater this weekend. The hotel staff is very friendly and they keep in communication with you throughout your stay. The rooms are a decent size and clean, the bed comfortable. I love the amenities in the room like a yoga mat and weights, robes, premium shampoo & lotions, hydrating face mask, umbrella, fridge and safe. Although there is a coffeemaker in the room, the best part of this hotel for me is the amazing cappuccino machine in the lobby. I'm always making a cappuccino to bring to my room or to enjoy in the lobby, especially at Christmas time by the Christmas tree. It's such a nice touch for the hotel guests not to have to pay for a specialty coffee. I highly recommend L7 by Lotte.

Was in town for an event at the Mart and ended up staying here due to the event's preferred hotel being sold out. It ended up being a great choice! I loved the vibes of the hotel overall, but also "the details" that made this place exceptional. From water bottle refill stations to complimentary face masks, I felt like this place was expecting me! There was nothing I needed more after a long day of business travel than a hydrating face mask and a comfy bed to dream away in. Wish I had more than one night in this property and would certainly stay there again!

A great hotel. We really enjoyed are stay. This hotel is one of the smaller ones, do they don't have as many accommodations as some of the larger ones nearby, but we actually appreciate less people and quieter environment. The hotel does share a lobby with an Asian steakhouse. The rooms are roomy and decorated lovely. The BEST feature are the window seats. I spent so much time sitting in one, just watching the city at night. They have a gym on site, but also include light workout equipment in the room. The hotel is located in a central location within walking distance to the train and a lot of dtown sites of interest. For the most part the staff was helpful. The only slightly negative thing I can say about this place is that one of the checking ladies was a little dismissive. We had arrive a little early and requested early check in. We ended up having to wait 20 mins after checking time of 3 to make it to are room. We would have waited longer, if hadn't gone up to ask about the room. That also seemed to be a theme that day with many other people checking in. But, I do realize early check in isn't a guarantee, but there were about 10 other families also waiting or told to come back in an hr or so.

We absolutely loved our stay at L7 Chicago by Lotte! The room had two queen beds, very comfortable, pillows were okay. The plugs in our rooms were not working, so our phones were on low battery most of the trip. The location is very central, close to the metro and the river rock. Things we didn't expect, but were Included in the room: yoga mat, air purifier, mini fridge! We would return in a heartbeat!

Paid for a "River view" room to get barely a glimpse of the river. Front desk staff argued that this is definitely a room with a view of the river.

According to my boys, our stay in this hotel was the best part of our Chicago trip and I couldnt agree more! It has the best location, just a short walk away to anywhere we wanted to go. The architecture river cruise, millennium park, restaurants are just minutes away too. We got the best room with the best view. We booked a king suite with the river view. It was very spacious. We all love the window nooks (our room had three!!!) where we can lay down and enjoy the view. There's no other hotel to stay at for our next Chicago adventure, for sure.

Great location in downtown Chicago. Plenty in walking distance. Theaters, restaurants, shopping. Even for a freezing cold day I went out and sight seeing. Spacious, cute, cozy comfortable rooms. Nice spot w/yoga mat for stretching. Complimentary coffee and wonderful receptionist and staff.

Came here for my trip to Chicago, and made my reservations through Cap One for Kimptom Monaco, however L7 purchased the hotel and we're making the switch that day! Upon entering the hotel D greeted me and welcomed me in. The desk staff were so great. Dealing with new systems and a lobby of guests, checkin was a breeze. I was early for checkin and not sure if a room would be ready so I asked for a river view room, as I didn't mind waiting for one to come available. I was told rooms weren't yet ready but they could accommodate and it would be ready in an hour! I decided to leave my bags and off I went to explore the city! Returning a few hours later, Antonio and desk staff (whose names I didn't get :/ ) greeted me and told me my room was ready to go! Antonio whisked me away to my room and brought my luggage in. The room was stunning! The view was even more spectacular! As a mostly suburban girl, I rarely ever stay downtown, and I'm glad I did! There was a sitting area in the bay window, which I spent a lot of my time in, gazing out at the city lights while catching up on some zzz's and movies! Super walkable to absolutely everything from food, to sites, clubs, and trains. I throughly enjoyed my stay here. They are still doing some construction on the downstairs lobby for the restaurant, but they have another lobby on 3rd floor for coffee, pastries etc. Excited to come back and visit again, and would definitely stay here again!!

The final night at 9pm, I tried again and was told told they dont open to the public until 9:30p or 10p. WHAT?! According to the website its open on Saturdays 11am to 2am. No break. My first night when I couldn't get up to the roof, I tried the restaurant downstairs. Also closes at 11pm. 10:20, hostess says they just called last call. I said cool I can order a drink. The last Hampton inn I got stuck in the elavator and had an off experience with getting help, so I chose to use the stairs. Upon using the stairs we were met with SEVERAL linen boxes blocking our only exit. They were all in different directions and could not be easily rolled out, especially when we were blocked behind them. Instead we had to parkour over it to escape. There was a valet driver sitting at the front and ignored us after I asked for help and continued to say she's just valet she can't do anything. These bins were there for well over an acceptable time, blocking the only stairs and fire safety exit but also for people that didn't enjoy their sketchy elevators. And again, pallets were there days later also blocking the ONLY emergency exit and stairwell exit. Completely unacceptable in a normal city let alone one with history of building fires. Exits should not be blocked and it's clear the building uses this space for "storage" often. Before the fire situation even happened, their breakfast situation was insane. Our first morning was on a Monday. Their service is until 10 am and around 9am we headed down for some fuel. By that time, the dining room was packed, the tiny buffet room was empty of food but packed with people who were waiting for tables, chairs and all of the food to be restocked. One woman was trying to run the whole operation while two men just stood behind the concierge desk and watched the shit show of breakfast service happen in front of them. Someone should have helped her get breakfast together. Even if it wasn't their job, in hospitality, their job as hotel manger or anyone who works in the hotel is to make sure the guest have a pleasant stay, not to look pretty sitting in front of the Hampton inn welcome to Chicago sign. Overall unorganized and not something nice to look at when you first walk into a hotel lobby, chaos. You would think the grievances would stop there. However we were then denied the benefits that we get as gold Hilton members. Previously at hiltons and Hilton branches we have been offered two bottles of water per room per day. Most of the time they would be offered upon check in (which they did not) and given daily throughout our stay. This time the concierge allowed my mom just to go grab them out of the fridge. The next day we did the same and the concierge Robyn gave me immediate backlash even after I said we were previously allowed to take them. She repeatedly said I was wrong and gave no hospitality to hear my side of the story. I didn't want to cause a scene and returned my water. She then slammed them onto our table as I was eating breakfast with my family. Definitely could have been better ways for her to deal with the problem and I did not appreciate the hostility coming from the concierge at 9 am. We were already all crammed at a small table because there are no seating arrangements easily accessible for families or even enough seats in the dining room. One star because housekeeping did great and my room was clean and refreshed when necessary (and because zero is not an option) Otherwise I would hope I never have to stay here again.

The staff were somewhat friendly until different things started to come up... 1st issue: Friday night the elevators completely stopped working. Big problem due to having a small infant and needing to get the stroller down. We were staying on the 10th floor. But an even bigger problem was that we started to notice floods of people come on our floor and notify us that there was not an exit even via the stairs!!!! My husband got on the phone with the front desk and the reply was "you are just going to have to wait for the elevator." This was completely unacceptable and UNSAFE- what if there was a fire? What if something dangerous was happening and we couldn't get out of the building? This itself would have landed this hotel at a 1-2 rating. The elevator issue didn't fill resolve itself for our whole stay- only 2/3 were in service and they took 5-10 minutes to show up each time. Seriously inconvenient. 2nd issue: they put one of our rooms (we had 3 groups) literally next to the pool. Kids were screaming their heads off beginning at 6:30am and it would carry on until 10pm. When SIL called down to the front desk she was told "sorry that's just how it is and it should quiet down soon." Again, completely unacceptable. We had young children and infants who needed to nap and go to bed early. 3rd issue: we asked for a late check out since our flight was later and we needed to get our baby to take a nap- after all of these issues they said they would extend it to 1:00, which was nice. We did then ask if it could be extended another hour and we were told it would cost $25. Fine... what was not fine was when there was banging on our door and someone walked in at 1:25pm to clean the room. It woke up our baby and completely defeated the purpose of us extending our late check out and paying the extra $25. 4th issue: apparently they don't clean the rooms unless you are staying for 3 or more nights? We didn't know about this and assumed we would get new towels since there is a sign in the bathroom saying "hang towels to reuse" or "if you would like new ones, place them on the floor". We needed new towels so we followed what it said and then were told our rooms wouldn't be cleaned or even checked to see if we needed new towels. Good things I will say: - very convenient area - provided a pack n play - Starbucks in the hotel - hotel room was clean Would have love for this stay to have been better since the Marriott is well known and usually a great place to stay.... but the lack of customer service makes it hard to want to book another room at a Marriott hotel.

So the JW seemed affordable within the mix...at $700+ a night... I've stayed at a few JWs across Asia and the US. For whatever reason this one didn't seem to meet JW's normally high standard. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I think it started with the lobby and bar. It was always overcrowded and noisy, and just didn't feel very intimate or elegant. That followed with the fact there's only one restaurant in the hotel and both times we visited it was nearly empty. It's tucked on the second floor back in the corner, and just feels like a standard obligatory hotel restaurant. The food was good but the ambience was just odd. The room was well-appointed, including a comfortable bed and soft sheets. And the bathroom had everything we needed. But the service day-to-day required follow up. They forgot to restock coffee, water and cups a few times, and when I called the front desk they delivered in a trash bag. There is a daily service charge that I believe is $50 a night and provides Wi-Fi, access to gym, and a free class. We went to use the gym to access the sauna and steam room, but learned that's part of the spa not gym so had to pay a separate per person charge. The spa was refreshing but fairly standard. Not like the Seoul Marriott with multiple heated baths and a cold plunge. Call me spoiled. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is very nice but for $700 a night and knowing what I know about most JW's this just seems slightly below their standard. I wouldn't pay that much again, but would come back for a more affordable rate.
