They do have a place where they serve food and it is fresh tacos and they have drinks coffee the server is very nice. The people at the bar is nice and the house is very nice. The place is nice and clean and different.
Ambiance is great at the Moxy Chicago Downtown. They have a great recipe. The bar and games area are a gathering place and the energy is great. Rooms are reasonably priced although pretty basic very comfortable. The staff was thoughtful and recommended the brisket Nachos which were a win all around. I will stay again for sure! Love their vibe.
We were nearby and decided to walk down for drinks. Being that it was later, we appreciated the atmosphere being relaxed and a spot we could pop into without a reservation that had a bit of everything to do, had we wanted to. They were offering a few specialty cocktails, but even the drinks we got that were standard (i.e. old fashioned, etc) were done well, especially for the price. The bartenders were pleasant and the vibe was relaxed. Would go again.
This is by far my favorite stay hotel. Every time I visit a city, I make sure I search for Moxy first. The Chicago location is fantastic and close to the Riverwalk and the city. The place is so aesthetically pleasurable. The staff are phenomenal, Moxy train its staff so well, because they are definitely top tier. Just like all the Moxy hotels I've been to, they provide two coin for a free complimentary drink. They also have food available and a bar with DJ in the lobby. They have interactive games that help with connection when you are traveling solo. I got the city view and I loved, the tacos zombie is also fantastic. With that being said, if you never been to Moxy location, what are you doing?!
I love a good Moxy and this one made a great home base for a quick weekend trip. It's very close to great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and train stops. Check in was fast and easy and everyone was super nice. The lobby was spacious and decorated well and nice to hang out in. The bar had plenty of options and we enjoyed our welcome drink. They have events at the hotel too, but we had other plans and didn't get to check them out this time. There is a DJ playing until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, so it may be a bit louder then, but we were out late those nights anyways, so that didn't bother us - just a heads up if you're planning on turning in earlier. We'd definitely come back!
This was one of my favorite spots while visiting Chicago! Such a cool vibe in a hotel, there was a DJ playing great tunes, lots of seating and games and even a Photo Booth to take pics and boomerangs and gifs! The next time I visit Chicago I'd definitely come back to moxys!
A modern-day hotel in Chicago. The rooms are small but cozy and clean. Our shower was right next to the bed. They do have a very nice lobby area with a bar, small market, and a place for food (Zombie taco). They offer coffee in the mornings, which is nice. There are seating areas for games and a small patio area. The staff was nice and friendly. It was a good price and I thought in a good area. We were able to walk to many different places. I would stay here again.
This bar is super cute and the vibes were top tier. Everybody there had the biggest smiles on their faces and just happy to be there. Bar service was super quick and the bartenders were nice. They had lots of games scattered around. Went here on a Saturday night and no food was being served at the time. Would definitely return.
Fun, trendy spot in an ideal location downtown. Would I want to stay here more than one night? Probably not. This is a good spot if you're in town for a party or wedding but otherwise I think I'm, sigh, too old for the novelty of this place. Check in was a breeze, the lady who checked me in was welcoming and informative. It was just me and the room was good for me but don't think I'd want to share a room with someone here. It's a micro room and probably a tight squeeze with others. Other than that, it's loud. I'm a black out and silent environment kind of person so that's on me so beware. They have a parking deal off site a few blocks away so they include in the cost of your room if you bring the receipt, in and out privileges too which is a bonus.
The Moxy in downtown Chicago is, 100%, the most unique place I've ever stayed, and I've stayed in some interesting places. We needed a hotel for the night before the Chicago Marathon. We didn't book as early as we should have so we paid a premium for a night at the Moxy but that's actually, as Bob Ross would say, a 'happy accident'. Let's start with check in. You check in at the bar. Yes, the bar. There is no front desk. There is The Bar, and it's central to everything at Moxy. In fact, the entirety of the first floor is based on being social. There's the bar, there's Zombie Taco, there's some food/beverage snackery, there's an entire area dedicated to LP listening (yes, ACTUALLY), there's a gaming area, and there are vast tracts of tables and seats and cushions for hanging out. Moxy's décor is kind of dark, but not dark in a foreboding kind of way. It's dark in a fun, mysterious kind of way. The wall decorations are fun and quirky. Our room was smaller than the average hotel room, but also different in a "Well, that's unique!" kind of way. The room is almost square in its dimensions. The sink/mirror are not in the bathroom, but are out in plain view. In one small room is the toilet. It's a square toilet. Go back and read that again. It's a square toilet. The enclosed shower juts out into the room. When laying in the bed you can literally reach over and touch the shower door. There is no closet/storage. At all. Either it hangs on the wall or stays in your suitcase The television is the way that hotel televisions should be. They tell you how to connect to your device (phone/tablet/pc) so you can watch media from your device. A lot of hotels say "NO" to this. Thanks for being forward thinking, Moxy! Our room faced N. LaSalle Street. The entire exterior wall was glass, from floor to ceiling. It afforded us a nice view of the street and, on Marathon Morning, a great view of the runners near the three mile mark. We interacted with staff twice. Check In and Check Out. While brief, you could tell that the staff here enjoy working in such a unique place. I'm kind of bummed that we only had one night to spend at Moxy. It's the kind of place I'd love to visit and hang around often.
Mortal combat, foosball, shuffleboard, huge bars, friendly staff, clean bathrooms even on holidays, and good food makes for an awesome place.
Um wow. Enjoyed the city is past weekend and let me tell you, I will be BACK! I have two toddlers and this place is a vibe. Not your typical bland hotel. Tons of lively music, life and games fill the lobby that is much more a chic bar environment than a service desk. Truly all the staff have been SO SWEET! Housekeeping, front desk, bar staff and all, absolutely fantastic and clearly enjoy their roles. You can tell right away when someone is just plugging away and getting the job done, not these guys. They clearly love the environment and serving their guest with flair and fun! Again, I am super surprised it was a good spot for small kids but here I am looking to book another weekend!
Nice place if you're looking for a more hip, casual atmosphere. The cocktails were well made, but the bartender was either slow or understaffed. It took a long time to get the drinks. The rooms are perfect for a short stay downtown and the location is fantastic. Walking distance to a lot of shops, great food and drinks. The price was very reasonable for the area too. They would have gotten 5 stars, but the lobby can get a little crazy with some of the gatherings they would plan and it makes it a little too "club" like for me.
Coolest hotel I've ever been in. Feels like I'm transported to Europe. This hotel is built for the youngins and the social. They always have something going on at night and if you wanted to have a chill no frills but nice evening you can just go downstairs and enjoy the bar. The food from the taco spot is also really good. Oleg from the concierge service is one hell of a cool dude. Gave us all the good spots to visit in Chicago, all the tips we needed to know to get around, and even really took care of us. I asked for a way to enjoy some special beers that we brought with us as Chicago tourists and he offered to bring over a whole mini fridge to the room. Super awesome guy! The room was also interesting as it's so nice even if it was very small. Everything about this hotel was great. read more
The Moxy brand is geared to young people who want a cool work vibe. It's a chain that focuses on minimalist amenities at a more affordable price in central locations. This hotel was located within the loop near the river, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are basic and small. We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago. read more

Not a guest, but did visit the bar for the first time. From the moment you step into Moxy's hotel bar, you notice the decor! As if stepping into an Instagram-worthy dream, with vibrant colors, quirky art pieces, and cozy seating areas begging you to kick back and relax. But let's talk about the drinks! Moxy serves up delicious drinks, their sweeter cocktails caught my eye! Friendly and attentive staff! And can't forget the taco bar inside. They were so good, my friend took a taco in her purse for a late night snack! Definitely a fun pitstop when in the River North area. read more

A fun unique experience at the Moxy! Hits: - Check in at the bar, they give you one voucher poker chip per guest that can be used at their bar (for special cocktail) or cafe. - built in restaurant (zombie taco) and bar, open till 2am. - Limited channels but it is a smart tv that has a google chrome cast. - Clean room + bathroom. -Bright and clean walk in shower. -Close to river north + surrounded by restaurants. - We had close parking, looked around on spot hero - 24hrs for $25. Misses: - No garbage bin in room besides bathroom. - Our view was quite unpleasant and disappointing to say the least. When we called to switch rooms they were fully booked up so we were stuck with that view. - No mini fridge or microwave. Be mindful the room is compact which may not be everyones style. Also if u don't specify city view you will get monkey view. read more

If you're looking for a cute, cozy, trendy vibe type of hotel, stay here! It was our first time staying at this hotel that my Hubby came across and I'm glad he chose it and booked it! This hotel was nice from the inside out! Upon walking into the lobby, you get a nice vibe. Their set up was well thought out. A lot of spaces to chill, eat, drink, all within the moment you walk in! They also had Zombie taco inside which was open late. That was nice. Upon checking in, we were given two complimentary drink tokens. Rooms were a little on the small side. We requested a mini fridge which was brought up to us quickly. Shower was nice with good water pressure and hot water. Our view of the alley wasn't great but that didn't bother us. We had an overall great weekend stay and will be back again! read more
This was my fourth time staying at Moxy, my first in Chicago. The experience was excellent. Moxy is part of the Marriott portfolio and is marketed for those seeking a more vibrant experience. The accommodations are European style, so the rooms are tight but functional. This venue was perfect as it offers a full-bar, restaurant and other amenities. It offers a hip or trendy vibe with many things to do in the lobby. Access is good. Trains are about three - four blocks away and you are about one mile west of lake Michigan. Check-in was swift and very professional. You are provided a little bag with two waters and a drink chit for a cocktail. There is the Zombit taco grill as part of the venue. A microwave is located in the lobby and they also have a Happy Hour. read more

Some hits and misses during my stay. The hits: -Location. Located a block from River North area. Plenty of restaurants/bars/shopping within walking distance. -Ambiance in the lobby is lively with fun decor and plenty of games all surrounding a bar. -Room is modern and minimalist and clean. Used the hair dryer, steamer and Netflix on the tv. -Free drink tokens. Got to try their signature moxie sugary cocktail, but was unable to use the rest of my tokens; see below. The misses: -Parking garage located a couple of blocks away. $49/night. No valet. -Service. Tried a couple of times to grab a night cap before 10pm, but no bartender on both nights. Also, asked for some fresh towels and the pile of towels was just left on a bench in the room. -Only room left with 2 beds had bunk beds. We got to pretend we were back in college. -View looked into another building which was empty and under construction. -Bathroom bulb burnt out my last evening and had to use my phone flashlight to see. read more

This is a beautiful modern design hotel. Reasonably priced room and close to downtown. The staff were professional and helpful. I'd say this hotel is more for couples or single people, not so much family. Even though they got plenty of games the vibe at night is for grownups The taco restaurant located here is nice. Hotel is walking distance to almost everything you need. My only complaint was that I wanted my room colder. It was on winter setting according to a staff member. Still, would definitely recommend this hotel. read more
The Moxy was a great place to stay at. It was inexpensive, and the service was prompt. My stay was from Friday night to Sunday afternoon. When I walked in through the side door, there was security so I felt safe. A worker greeted me and asked if I needed help. He guided me towards the check in. The process was quick and I was in my room in no time at all. They also gave me a free drink token. This place can activate the phone key, but it only works on the hotel door and not the elevators. My room was spotless and the layout was efficient. There aren't any supplies like water/bars of soap/qtips. Those have to be requested. The bed was pretty comfy. I loved the view. After settling in, I went downstairs and got a drink and 5 tacos. All were tasty. Throughout my stay, the concierge was extremely responsive through the app. One even helped me find flowers to buy! I had a late check out which was complimentary until 2 PM. After that, it's $20 an hour. Overall, my stay was great. 10/10. read more
Perfect hotel if you're looking more for the vibe than lap of luxury comfort. Living quarters are very, very tight, but we had a floor to ceiling window with a view of Willis Tower so that was cool. Room is equipped with lots of pegs and hangers because there is no closet. Shower is literally in the room. So is the sink. Thankfully they put the toilet in a separate bathroom so I wouldn't have to stare at my husband while taking a dump and vice versa. Bed was firm and large. Proud and humbled to announce that not once did I run into the sharp corners of the bed frame. Flat screen tv is equipped with a chromecast. Downstairs is a bar and taco shop, along with fun games scattered around the lobby such as Mortal Kombat, Pac-Man, foozeball, that board where you slide hockey pucks for points, numerous jenga sets, a mini-giant scrabble board, and many boxed games. The dj was in point on a Friday night. Location is central to anywhere you want to be, and Lyfts are abundant. I probably won't stay in this Moxy or another Moxy anymore because I'm more about the comfort and space than I'm about the vibe, but for those who aren't old bitter hags, this place is for you! read more

Hi Annie A, thank you for showing Moxy Downtown Chicago so much love!…
The Moxy is a vibe. You feel that as soon as you walk in the door. The front desk staff checked me in quickly and answered all my questions. A fun little perk upon check in you get a complimentary drink token. Try the signature Moxy cocktail it doesn't disappoint. Room Pros--The room was very clean. The bed was super comfortable and I had a great view of the city. The room has cable and you are able to log into your Netflix or Pandora. It comes with a steamer for your clothes, a hairdryer and makeup wipes. In the shower area the usual shampoo, conditioner and body wash. When I needed additional linens they were brought to my room promptly. Cons-The room is small but you should expect that from a boutique style hotel. If you have a lot of items to hang up, you will have to pick and choose as there isn't a lot of space for that. The blinds were not working properly when I arrived but were fixed quickly. The lights in the room aren't super bright but they make up for it with the floor to ceiling windows. One other thing I wasn't able to get a mobile key as the system was down. Bar/Lounge/Food Pros--Brandon was the bartender on duty during my entire stay. He made excellent drinks and was really friendly. He remembered my name the whole stay. The lounge has a lot of seating spaces and has games for you to enjoy. The decor is very unique. The taco spot on site was good. The serving sizes were really good. Cons--Although there is a lot of seating it fills up quickly especially during the times there is a DJ. So if you want to head down for that go early. The website said that the food spot was open all day however there were limited hours which may have been due to COVID. That was a little disappointing especially the day it was pouring raining and we didn't want to head out. Overall, Moxy is the place to be. It was fun and cool. read more
Stopped in for a cocktail at their bar for happy hour. Got the blood orange margarita which was very good. The bartender was very friendly along with others at the hotel. Worth stopping in to check them out. It was quieter than at a regular bar which is what I was looking for. read more
Had a wonderful stay at the Moxy! Loved the decor, the atmosphere, and the service. Some highlights: - Room was very comfortable and in a great central location to explore the city - Great food and bev. I got two casino chips which we redeemed for a very yummy boozy punch at the bar. They also had a rare barrel aged malört for us to try. The happy hour tacos are delicious and affordable - Lobby area has arcade machines and shuffleboard to play Overall, its a great place to stay as a tourist or grab a drink in the neighborhood! read more
Two girlfriends and I stayed here while we were visiting Chicago for a girls weekend. We all live near and sometimes frequent the bar at a Moxy in Columbus, Ohio so we kind of knew what to expect when we booked our room. That process was easy and I did it online. However, I did have to call to make a change and that was done over the phone. It was really easy and they were happy to make the adjustment. We were staying for three nights and when we arrived early to check-in, they already had a room ready for us. This was totally surprising because we were several hours early and just expecting them to hold our bags. It was much appreciated. We also each received a free drink token to use at the bar during our stay. What a fun perk! Our room had two queen beds and while it faced a concrete wall so we had absolutely no view, it was quiet and that was nice. No fridge or microwave or anything like that, which was a little bit of a bummer. A mini fridge would be nice because they didn't have ice machines either. It was impossible to keep anything cold. However, our room did have a few amenities like a blow dryer, steamer, shampoo and body wash in the shower, etc. They also weren't doing room service due to COVID so if we needed the trash taken out or new towels, they were a call away. Good thing was they were fast! At one point the electric blinds weren't working and we had to have an engineer come fix them. Within hours they weren't working again but whatever. Downstairs the vibe was lively and fun. We stuck around for drinks a few times and our first night there we got tacos from their in-house restaurant, Zombie Taco. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to singles, couples, and the younger crowd. I wouldn't stay here with kids or anything like that. If that sounds like you, enjoy your stay! read more
I've been to a Moxy in Arizona which was outstanding and the Chicago location did not disappoint. I got in early and they were able to accommodate an early checkin, but I was more looking forward to the *free* checkin drink. The room was bit small, but perfect for just me. I found it interesting that the shower was literally right next to the bed. The bed was comfy and I had a great view from my window. It was close to the office and a 30 minute walk to Navy Pier. The staff was very polite and able to answer my questions on suggestions of places to eat nearby. I'd absolutely stay here again. read more
