Interior - The image shows an indoor lounge area with warm lighting, modern pendant and ceiling lights, and a variety of seating options including chairs and couches. Artwork is displayed on a wall above a concrete pillar, and potted plants are placed throughout the space. The area includes a central table with chairs on a rug, and the background reveals additional seating and ambient lighting, creating a relaxed atmosphere.

I have been to this bar twice now and every time I come the menu has new and exciting cocktails to try! This time I had a Chamomile Martini, however the twist in this cocktail was a hint of shiitake mushrooms! If you love savory cocktails-this is the cocktail! The inside is beautiful! My friends and I came on Sunday so it was a quiet night before we headed to our dinner spot.

I visited Lady Bird for the first time with my husband and I can't wait to return. When we first arrived the manager ( Max I believe) was very welcoming. We were sat promptly and the band was fantastic! I just wish I had later reservations to enjoy the set longer but we'll be back. We had a slight mishap but thanks to the professionalism of the manager it was handled well and I truly appreciate such great customer service. I highly recommend.

A yellow cocktail in a coupe glass is positioned on a wooden table, with a glass of water to its left. The table has a natural wood grain finish, and a black purse is visible in the background. The setting appears to be in a dimly lit environment, possibly a bar or lounge.

We made a reservation for a table to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were right by the stage area and had a couch with a bench. They had a lot of menu choices for drinks. Minimal food available with no GF options. The grasshopper was my favorite. The music was also pretty good. There were a lot of people and they do crowd the area so couldn't see the stage. Also had strangers sit on the couch. We did ask them to leave but they were pushing back and said some very inappropriate things. We did go up to the host stand to help us but no one ever came over.

I'm genuinely sad to be writing this, because Lazy Bird used to be one of my favorite spots in Chicago. The last two times I've visited, the once-intimate speakeasy atmosphere has been completely overtaken by overcrowding. Even with a reservation and a table, the space was so packed that you could barely move--let alone comfortably enjoy the experience. Seeing the performer was nearly impossible, and getting a drink took far longer than it ever should, especially for a venue that prides itself on craft cocktails and live music. What was once cozy and refined now feels more like a cramped club, and honestly, the crowding bordered on feeling unsafe. It's hard not to wonder how this many people in such a tight space is even acceptable. This critique comes from a longtime patron who loved Lazy Bird and brought friends here often. I hope management takes a hard look at capacity, service flow, and the overall guest experience, because what made this place special is getting lost--and that's a real shame.

I've been here multiple times and it's a place I've brought multiple friends to. Located below the Hoxton Hotel, I really enjoy the ambiance inside. The signature cocktails are well curated and have an Asian theme to them. I recently got the Alor After Dark and it was a delicious coconut-y, spicy, bready, cereal-milk-y flavor. All these flavors came together so well, I loved it. The Chiang Mai Reprieve is a lovely clarified cocktail, which takes a lot of time to prebatch make. It's a tasty Thai tea cocktail. I've had their other signatures and they were all good. It just depends on your preference of the flavor profiles. It gets pretty busy if you come later at night on weekends, so just something to keep in mind. You can walk in but to guarantee a seat at a table you'd need a reservation.

Mai tai (left), mojito (middle), hurricane (right) - Three cocktails with mint leaves and ice are arranged on a dark table, with a small candle in a glass holder providing ambient lighting. The drinks are in tall glasses, and the setting appears to be a dimly lit bar or lounge.

A little difficult to find at first (located in the basement of the Hoxton hotel). There were a lot of drink options. Service was very friendly. The mojito I got was delicious. The music choice could have been better.

The hype around Lazy Bird sadly didn't meet expectations when visiting. Our experience started by thinking the side door by the branded neon sign was the entrance to the bar; it was not. Make sure you enter through the hotel lobby and go right before seeing signage on where to go. Once we found the bar, the inside was well designed: very intimate, cool patterns and textures, staff were extremely nice. We sat at the main banquet so we could watch drinks be made which was fun. The menu was the next obstacle. Most of the menu is their take on classic cocktails. There is a small seasonal section that has unique, one off selections but was also still listed as "fall specials" in December. Rather than paying $18+ for a drink I can get anywhere, it was an easy decision to go for a special. Our server explained the notes to us and we ordered the Q'Tuanis and Cielo Andino. The Q'Tuanis ended up tasting like there was a hint of coffee which my partner hated. It was light and smooth but the flavor profile felt all over the place. The Cielo Andino was describes as a spiced rum drink and ended up tasting like citrus and fruity; definitely more of a summer vibe. Lazy Bird seems to be loved by most but sadly, we didn't fall into that category. If you are looking for an elevated hotel bar with straight forward cocktails, this is a great option. We hope that our experience was just a bad first impression.

Such a cool place we stumbled upon when visiting the city! We came at 9:30pm and wait took ~15-20 minutes. I love the interior wallpaper and seating, it gives it a homey vibe. Also loved that they had a live band with great music! Only one downside was that it seemed that it was soo packed. But great vibes! Drinks were ok.

French martini - The image shows two cocktails on a dark, reflective bar table in a dimly lit lounge setting. One cocktail is in a martini glass, and the other is in a wine glass. A lit candle in a decorative holder provides ambient lighting. The background is blurred with silhouettes of people, indicating a social environment.

Vibe is good, drinks are good, band was great....actually saw them last night at a different location. My only complaint would be the door guy was extremely rude. Once we passed the door troll we were able to enjoy ourselves.

We came early for a pre dinner drink & didn't have to wait for a table at all. As others have noted, it's in the basement but there are signs directing you. The inside is dimly lit, with lounge-y seating and thoughtful decor. Obviously you're here for cocktails but there is a section on the menu called "bites" - which only lists a 16oz ribeye? Ok. Great - *Drinks, obviously. They're not cheap but they are very well made *Pleasant service Not Great - *Don't like the backless "pouf" seats - they're a little tippy and very uncomfortable. It Depends: *Your fellow patrons. We had the (dis)pleasure of sitting next to 2 drunk girls who proceeded to sing along with the music (loudly, and badly) as well as twerk (badly) to music. It was like 5:30pm, have some dignity ladies. Or go over to Bubs or some shit like that. It's a cool place, next time I'll ask to be seated in the "adults who can hold their liquor" section

Super cool and sneaky spot - love the atmosphere and whole vibe. We had an excellent espresso martini and our server was really a mood. We would have stayed longer if we didn't have a dinner reservation, but we enjoyed our drinks and will definitely be back!

Been here twice now and this spot is an absolute vibe. The ambiance reminds me of a 1920s old money hangout. This place has every classic cocktail you can imagine and does them very well. I discovered my love for Grasshoppers here - it's rare to see a bar that has this drink on the menu! The Hoxton seriously has so many gems. Come here on a night when some live jazz is going on. You won't be disappointed!

fun and vibey speak easy type cocktail bar. Some seating but mostly standing tables. extensive cocktail menu. Fun for a night out with the girls and the drinks a very well made.

Bee's Knees cocktail. - A pale yellow cocktail in a martini glass with a cherry garnish on top is positioned on a marble bar counter. Behind the bar, a bartender with curly hair is preparing drinks, and shelves stocked with various bottles of alcohol are visible. The setting appears to be a dimly lit bar or lounge.

It is definitely unique, creative, and a massive differentiator from any other cocktail bar I've been to. Now, let's talk cocktails! The creativity of the interior extends into the menu. Unlike some places that just make variations of existing classics (except for items specifically so named, like the Old Fashioned or Espresso Martini), all of their cocktails are unique and interesting. Time for a punch card? I ordered the Maximillian the Imposter. While I'm not typically a fan of banana (except for banana bread), I thought I'd step out of my comfort zone, and I wanted to try something 'flaming'. Flaming it was! The preparation of the drink involved a surprising amount of fire. I initially thought this was just for show, but no, this translated into a noticeable smoky flavor. Beyond that, the drink was strong, not overly sweet, and an all-around delight. There was one bartender on the night I was here, and while it was busy, I was still able to get my drink in a reasonable amount of time. I also feel as though they have reasonable prices, especially considering the quality and the market rates. King of Cups gets busy, and for good reason: they are an all-around phenomenal place, from the drinks to the vibe, and everything in between. A guitarist sits somewhere against a brick wall and plays music lightly but energetically. Service is friendly from start to finish and smiles are on everyone's faces. The menu is pretty easy to understand. You can get a three-course meal, or you can get each entree à la carte. You have two fondue candles in front of you, one for the cheese and dessert, and the other for the oil. We chose the three-course meal, and it was delightful. We started with the cheese appetizer. You get a basket of bread and fruit and we chose the seasonal cheese to dip. The oil for our meat was then left to heat, and we received a massive platter of veggies and meats for our main course. We chose the option for all selections of meat and seafood. After trying all the meats, I would opt for the lobster and shrimp. You can also substitute the oil for a broth. I would like to try the broth for next time. In one of the shakers, Gejas makes their own meat spice mix. It's recommended to put on the meats and even the desserts. It's a mix of tangy and savory and was a great compliment to the meal. We then chose the seasonal dessert, a white chocolate with vanilla cookies. Fruit, marshmallows, and churros to dip. We were so full by the time dessert came, but we enjoyed a few bites and took it home. The three-course meal, with five types of meat, came with about 10 pieces of meat. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but it truly is, with the apps, veggies, etc, your stomach will be full when you walk out of here. They also start the entire course with a mixed salad (so technically it's a four-course meal). It was very fairly priced, as well. Initially looking at the prices, you may think it's expensive, but it truly is a value with the amount of food they serve. This was rated as most romatic restaurant in Chicago. Its ambiance gives you the romantic feel, the guitarist adds to the atmosphere, and the staff is professional and friendly. This really was a great place and we enjoyed our time and meal.

PARKING Parking on Halsted on a Saturday night can be a nightmare, and it did take a minute to find street parking. North of the 1800 block is busier because there are several restaurants within a two block radius. Side streets are permit parking after 6pm. Meters on Halsted are $2.50/hr. ATMOSPHERE Willow Room was pretty packed. We had a reservation for 8:15pm and my party of two was seated right away. The restaurant features a full bar, dim lighting and is nice and roomy. They have banquette seating around the perimeter, in addition to tables in the middle. SERVICE Our server, who was very nice and accommodating during our dining experience, came by and gave us our menu's. I had already decided on the RW menu and after review, my friend was interested in the Beef Wellington (not on RW menu). Our server informed us that normally the whole table had to order off of the RW menu if one person does, but said she would check with the kitchen since this was the last day of RW. Luckily, we were able to proceed with ordering from different menu's. FOOD I ordered a raspberry Cosmopolitan. I'm a Riesling/Moscato girlie, but I tasted the Riesling and didn't like it. RW dinner was priced at $60. I ordered: First Course: Caesar Salad (Typical salad, was good) Second Course: Mussels (Tasted fine, came with a baguette) Third Course: Short Rib (Could've been slightly more tender and better seasoned. I've definitely had better. Wouldn't order again.) Fourth Course: Orange Ricotta Donuts (Donuts were very good. Three were served, a few more would have been more filling.) My friend ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and: Truffle Fries (Fries were very tasty. I would order again if I went back.) Beef Wellington (The breading was buttery and very good. The beef could've been more seasoned. I wouldn't order.) Key Lime Pie (Was not sweet and had no taste. When our server came back and saw it was uneaten, she offered to take it off the bill. It should be removed from the menu altogether.) The busboys and server were very attentive. Our water glasses were always filled. OVERALL The atmosphere was nice, our server was great. Of all the food we ordered, I would order the truffle fries and Cosmopolitan again. I did leave full and did take my leftover Short Rib to go. Main dishes needed more seasoning. I would dine here again and try a different menu (brunch/lunch), or Happy Hour if they offer it.
