Château Carbide is one of those rooftop spots that makes you fall in love with Chicago all over again. The views are stunning -- especially at sunset -- and it's the perfect place for a date night or a special evening out. We ordered the garden flatbread (pesto, zucchini, heirloom tomatoes, summer squash, goat cheese) and it was light, fresh, and flavorful. They also brought out almonds and olives on the house, which was such a nice touch to start things off. For drinks, we tried three: Salted Coconut Ube Daiquiri (Diplomatico Planas Rum, coconut liqueur, lime juice, ube extract) hands-down my favorite of the night. Creamy, tropical, and perfectly balanced. Meet Me at the Roof (rye whiskey, orgeat, mango liqueur, lemon & pineapple juice, bitters) a close second -- refreshing, layered, and so easy to sip while taking in the view. Summer in Oaxaca (mezcal, pineapple, lemon, agave, foam) bright, smoky, and fun, though the other two stole the show for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Between the gorgeous setting, thoughtful touches, and creative cocktails, Château Carbide is a rooftop I'd come back to again and again. Sunset here is magic[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

Cute spot for drinks! They even bring some nuts and olives to munch on. It was unfortunately windy and colder on this summer night so we opted to sit inside. My mezcal drink and my lychee drink were both very tasty. The server even brought out a delicious cheesecake for my birthday! Definitely recommend this spot.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]What a darling experience! It's warm, cute and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drinks, while seemingly creative; kinda fall flat. The pepperoni flatbread was ok tho a bit 1 note. All in all, it's an adorable experience as long as u maintain ur expectations.

The blush and brass cocktail was like an adult version of a strawberry dr. pepper. The velvet contraband tastes like the first time I heard Miles Davis Blue and Green. The homemade chips and dip were a welcoming way to wet the beak. Highly recommend

Big fan of tiki drinks and rooftop bars. When I saw that Strong Water Anaheim would be doing a pop-up, I promptly booked a spot. In all fairness...I wasn't quite sure what this would entail. As the advertisement was unclear other than specialty drinks from Strong Water would be served and lite bites. I tried getting more info on this venue's social media and website. Only thing I could ascertain was that there was a French Happy Hour from 5 to 7pm. Well...not on this evening which was a bummer. They decided no happy hour because of the pop-up. Had I known that was no happy hour, I would of went to happy hour somewhere else and came for the view and tiki drink after 7pm. Anyway...first disappointment was no happy hour. Second disappointment was slow service. It took over 30 minutes to get our cocktails. Our server was nice and even served us a cup of popcorn with their housemade yeast seasoning but this really dampered the mood. There was only 2 dedicated server for the whole patio. Seriously there were more hostess. By the time we got our first round we were ready to go. The menu didn't interest us and we didn't want to pay for another $20 drink. On this occasion they did have DJ settings up as we were leaving. The social media said live music 6pm to 8pm. We left at 650pm. It was too late to get happy hour downtown by this point. While I enjoyed my drink, I was underwhelmed with the pop-up. Really I think it was a missed opportunity for both businesses to showcase their brands. Overall the view was spectacular, one of our servers was nice. The bathrooms were clean. Unsure if I would return but maybe.

Stopped in for a Friday night experience. Great views on the rooftop and Alexis was very friendly and knowledgeable. The Cannonfire bourbon drink was a 3/5 but expensive. My issue was the slow service. It seems that they were short staffed. Be ready to wait. For the price paid , I expected more . I gave an extra star for the view alone

    Corn cobs

[[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a good view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That's it. The service was good. The cocktail was weak. The hostess was done, she seemed like she'd rather be getting a root canal than working there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm no expert on Chicago but anything south of the river seemed very touristy, crowded and subpar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came here twice now with fiends from out of town and I, selfishly, love that the crowds have not overrun this location. The views are terrific and the vibe is much more relaxed than the Uber busy competing rooftop locations. The first time we sat inside and really like the vibe - we can get a bit loud after a few drinks but we even had our server hysterically laughing! (Everyone here is so nice!). The second time I came, despite the cloud coverage, we sat outside to take in the views and fresh air. The outdoor furniture was super comfortable too! We settled on a bottle of Chandon Rosé which came out super fast! Service here was top notch - they even moved us inside and held a table for us inside once it started to sprinkle. Next visit I will be trying the sushi - it looks amazing and I wish we would hav come here for food and not just drinks.

Really nice view and rooftop ambience Heaters were not very warm. Service was very good. Food and Drinks were a little above average depending on how much you spend.

Definitely a hidden and unknown rooftop bar which was cute, quiet and provided beautiful views of the city. We did not eat any food, but the drinks were nice. A speciality is their use of the fever tree mix in their drinks. Service was pleasant. It is first come first serve but we didn't send up waiting too long for a seat for two.

The rooftop is nice! Not the best in the city, but a welcome addition. It's in one of my favorite buildings . We came on a Saturday night without a reservation and was able to get a spot outside. The Bartender works very hard to make sure everyone who wants one has a tasty drink in hand. Friendly staff. I appreciate the manager supporting the bartender by telling people it will be a couple minutes before another order could be placed to the lone Bartender isn't super overwhelmed. Drink was pricy, but not offensively so, and it was well balanced. I'd return.

We were so happy with everything! Our server was wonderful! The entire staff was so friendly and on top of their game! We never waited for anything. They were immediately refilling our waters, offering more bread, removing dirty plates, replacing silverware, and offering the next course. It was perfect! The views!!! I think there's not a table in NoMi that doesn't have an amazing view. The main, large window faces the lake (East). Arriving just at 7, you get the full affect of the city, and lake, and then the sunset and lights of the buildings. It was absolutely magical. I couldn't get enough of it. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and clean, but honestly it could have been a pit and I wouldn't have noticed. You'll be focused on the views for the entire evening. The food!!! Everything is very fresh. It's all well-prepared. Everything was delicious. There's a good variety of dishes to choose from. Plenty of healthy, low-carb options. We each ordered our own appetizers. I had the crispy Maitake mushrooms and my husband had the mussels. We both loved our food and left nothing on our plates. Excellent choices, that we highly recommend. As our main course we shared the sushi platter. The seafood was fresh and the sushi didn't have too much rice. It was the perfect amount of food with our appetizers. They have an extensive wine and drink menu. For drinks I had a glass of the Sauvignon blanc and my husband had a red blend. For dessert we weren't really hungry enough to eat anything else but my husband wanted a pallet cleanser. They have a few sorbets. My husband settled on the cherry cola sorbet. They brought it out with a little chocolate that said "Happy Anniversary" in French. They did not add it to our bill. Very sweet of them. It was probably one of the best anniversaries we've ever had. The bill was about $230 before tip. We highly recommend coming here for any special occasion.

We bought the tickets that included the Tilt, the Observation Deck, and the CloudBar. That was the way to have the complete experience on the 94th Floor of the John Hancock Building. The views are spectacular!! Look up and there are mirrors on the ceiling! Lots of cool photo ops! We enjoyed it here. There needs to be more organized seating all around the 360 because the place is packed. There are some tables closest to the Bar but not around the entire deck. You have to hold your drink the whole time and get bumped into. There is no obvious line at the bar and you accidentally go in front of other people who thought they were in line and they get upset. There are also mini bleachers where people were spilling their drinks because there was no place to put their drinks. The floor was sticky and wet. We got alcohol spilled on us from those climbing down the bleachers. Not a pleasant experience. The drinks were ok. My Magnificent Margarita was too sweet for my taste and it was a generous pour. My daughter had the Crossbeam and was able to select what she preferred. I should have done that one. The bartender was friendly and nice despite how busy he was. There are restrooms for men and women but the women's is not very big or wide. The line is mostly outside the restroom. It was tight in there. Would we go again? Yes.

Overcooked with a little sauce and two pickles slapped on the bun with a tiny little dab of fake cheese - it was like a bad and way more expensive version of McDonald's. The onion rings were the frozen crumbly kind not the fresh beer battered kind and so that's a big "no!" for me. The dipping sauce was okay. Service was friendly and I think the guy was new but it wasn't good enough for a place like that at the top of the building. There were two servers so I'm guessing one was training maybe. It is a must visit - if only all hotel restaurants were this good. We had a late dinner reservation on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was almost emptied out. So that made for a lovely, semi-private dining experience. Selecting a wine was dicey, as earlier that week flooding had damaged the cellar (!), but our server, Alex, was very helpful and worked with us to find something to my liking. We landed on a 2015 Cornas which was showing beautifully and matched perfectly with our meal. Alex did a fantastic job taking care of us during the wine reconnaissance and throughout the meal. Speaking of which, we started with the deviled eggs, which were amazing. An elegant balance of cream and salt from the caviar. For my entree, i had the venison. It was a seared filet on I believe a sweet potato puree, and it was rich and tender. Order it rare, if its on the menu.
