Wow! Such a wonderful place! Amazing views of the city and Lake Michigan. Located on the roof of Hotel Lincoln, it's a great venue in Lincoln Park. Thank you to Abe for taking such great care of me and my best friend. Excellent service! I loved the mocktail that was created for me. My Caesar salad with fried chicken was delicious too. The Chicago Beef flatbread was fantastic!!! We watched the sunset here and it was gorgeous! Indoor and outdoor seating. Relaxing atmosphere and great vibes. The decor and lighting are modern, warm, and inviting. I will definitely be back!

We went as a big party to J Parker for a friend's birthday. The views and ambience are amazing. Great city views, open rooftop and we even got to see the Wednesday fireworks. The service was VERY slow. We had to wait 30 mins for the server to just come and greet us and hand out the menus. She took another 20 mins to come back to get the order. The drinks and the food, however, were great! We ordered the cheese curds, nachos, fries, onion rings, etc. The French 75 was my favorite cocktail of the night. I will be back but maybe with a smaller party to get better service.

The J. Parker rooftop is beautiful...the hotel entrance and elevator ride up set the tone, and the views are absolutely stunning. The vibe is open, colorful, and chic. We sat by the fire pit (which meant ordering at the bar instead of table service), and while the seating wasn't the most comfortable, the atmosphere made up for it. Fabian, the bartender, was fantastic...friendly, creative, and even made us a custom coconut-based drink that was amazing. He also surprised us with shots. Food was solid across the board: my shredded beef nachos were delicious, the wing sauce was tasty (though the boneless wings were a bit nugget-sized), and the chips and salsa were a hit. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals, and I'd definitely return for both the food and the service. Downsides: no to go boxes, no change for larger bills, and a misleading TikTok promo (3 courses for $30) that they said hasn't been offered in a long time. Those things were frustrating, but overall, the experience was still very good. Bottom line: stunning views, great service (shoutout to Fabian), tasty food...it's worth going back.

Went for brunch on a Sunday morning. Food was not bad but not great. Wouldn't order anything again except for the bacon. They also said they were out of hashbrowns and asked us if tater tots were fine. We said yes expecting regular tater tots but they crumbled it up themselves and was not great. This place is definitely more of a bar than a restaurant. Vibes were kind of weird during the day. Our server was very nice but the rest of the staff seemed to want us to leave immediately.

Living in the South Loop makes it a little bit hard to get up north/Linclon Park but had a brunch date at this cool rooftop. Cute medium size hotel, with a great rooftop. Try to get a table/seat with the umbrella because during the summer, it's really hot up there. Beautiful views and great places to take pictures but on a hot day, you definitely need water along with the bottomless mimosas lol. The food was really good; I had the waffles and my friend had the modern breakfast. Of course we had the bottomless mimosa/rosé. All delicious. A little pricey but I'm glad I came.

We recently visited The J Parker to celebrate a friend's birthday on a weekday! We ordered a lot of things - beers, espresso martinis, wine, french 75 and a vodka martini drink. For food, we ordered onion rings, guac and chips, cheese curds, fries, nachos without meat! The food and service were very mediocre and hence I have reduced a few stars. The guac was a bit bland and onion rings were too oily! Definitely visit the place though for beautiful skyline views.

The views here are really pretty. That's about he nicest thing I can say about this place. Went here for dinner on a Saturday night not too busy but the service was lacking. Only checked On once after ordering food. I asked 3 different people for water and it took about 30min for someone to fill it. Our server also messed up our bill. The food was similar to Applebees except twice the price. Chicken wings were just chickens tenders with more salt. Burger was solid. Fries again were super salty. Would not recommend this place except for a quick drink.

Although another rooftop bar in Chicago may claim to have Chicago's best view, I think I'm partial to the view at The J Parker. This is such a great spot to stop in for a drink and take in the spectacular views of the city, parks, and lake. We came here on a whim after a quick rooftop bar search and I'm so glad we found it! They have tables with servers, but we opted to order at the bar and sit at the couch in the corner which was open seating. We were here on a Friday afternoon and there were a few other groups in this area when we arrived, but after a while we had the whole couch section to ourselves. I ordered wine and my boyfriend cocktails. The drinks were a little inconsistent in pour size and taste depending on which bartender was taking your order, but we still enjoyed sipping while looking out at the wonderful view.

My experience is from a Happy Hour in June 2024: I'm not sure where to begin. They have REALLY awesome views of Lake Michigan and great views of Lincoln Park. But their happy hour is severely lacking. They have a few drink specials, and a few food items on the HH menu, but they were totally out of food when we were there (30 minutes after Happy Hour started). They were not able to make most of the drinks on the HH menu because they were out of this and out of that. The beer list is severely lacking. They have nothing on draft, it's only cans and a very limited selection at that (they were even out of one of the big brands 30 minutes after happy hour started). The service was also very lacking - very slow and we were hardly checked on. Bottom line - go for the awesome views, but don't expect a decent selection of drinks or decent service (or food).

Mediocre at best, please take your money to another rooftop in Chicago and let me tell you why. First off, it is very nice up there but there is not even much of a skyline view of Chicago based on how the building is situated, but that is not a dealbreaker. However, what is a dealbreaker is the fact that we showed up during opening, and half of the menu isn't even available because it's not fully prepped yet. If you call yourself a fine establishment, shouldn't everything on your menu be prepped for opening time at 11am on a Saturday? Despicable. However, it gets worse... The service was subpar, it took a very long time for things to be ready which made us late for our afternoon baseball game, and the food was very average as well. Also, they overcharged us a salad which we explained to them and they kindly took away, but charged us for it on our tab! With how late we were for the game, I did not see it as worth it to use another 15min of our time to call them over and demand a refund. Please avoid this place, and take your business to a better rooftop.

Three well-dressed, non-revealing women tried visiting this place after having a wonderful brunch at Americano (adjacent to the Lincoln hotel). I already had doubts, about two years ago I had a friend who was murdered here, but since I didn't realized where I was I hoped we'd be safe on a Sunday afternoon. However, to my surprise, we didn't received a welcomed greeting;, I get it was raining so uncovered tables shouldn't seat patrons, but there was open seating. We were told the place had no seating and that we could go stand at the bar after inquiring (staff also went to confirm). Upon approaching we were handed what they claim to be an outdated menu which said Sun-Thur was happy hour, when we mentioned it to staff his unprofessional reply was "you can order whatever you want, just not at that price" WTH I didn't create the menu. Bye Felicia we took our leave, I refuse to give you a dime. As most reviews say the drinks are overpriced and I didn't see anything so great about the views. In addition, it's obvious management could care less, as there is no reply to any of these reviews. I don't recommend going here. PS - beware of the janky elevator it quickly closed in my friend she could have gotten hurt.

    Joan N.

Great views from the rooftop. Service was a little slow. They need to rethink black metal furniture on the rooftop or add cushions - way too hot!

    Katarina S.

Pretty views and tasty drinks but I didn't like how the water was served in plastic cups. If one is going for the elevated casual vibe, even with the servers dressed in black, glasses are a must. Other than that, the service was quick and welcoming.

It was no wonder when we arrived that there was a line out the door. We waited around 45 minutes, and the bouncer was a really nice fellow who kept track of the numbers and people at the door. Upon entering, we were immersed in a dimly lit retro-style lounge. It was quite loud inside and packed as we walked to our seats. The server was great at taking our orders and offering suggestions. I opted for the French 75, which featured sparkling wine and mixed gin, brandies, and citrus. The drink was delicious, but STRONG. I don't know what they put in the cocktails in America, but I am always finished after one drink. Needless to say, we were all struggling to finish our own drinks. Imagine my shock when we didn't even make it past the bouncer because he was so rude, AS OTHER RECENT REVIEWS HAVE MENTIONED AS WELL! We had dinner nearby and walked to Bisous after, and saw there was a line of 5 or 6 people outside. We expected this as we knew Bisous is a first come, first serve bar. We were curious what the wait time would look like, so we approached the front door to ask a host or employee inside (we assumed there'd be a desk with an employee working it who could give us a wait time). We had no problem waiting, just wanted to see how long they estimated it would be! Before we could even fully open the door, the bouncer swung the door open from the other side and hit me with the door. I stumbled back a few steps and he looked at us and said, and I quote, "What do you want?". I laughed at first because I thought he was joking and putting on a tough guy act. He was not. We quickly explained we just wanted to see what the wait time was, and he said "don't you see there's a line outside?" We said yes, and explained we just wanted to know a rough estimated wait time. He just blankly stared at us while ushering us out. Both my boyfriend and I have worked in customer-service roles for a very, very long time. This encounter was not only extremely rude and unprofessional, but he also hit me hard enough with the door to send me stumbling back, and then said nothing about it and continued to address us in a tone that was nothing less than annoyed and irritated. We didn't end up going inside because that encounter left such a bad taste in our mouths. I don't believe in spending my money at establishments that don't treat their customers with the bare minimum respect they deserve! Bummed we didn't get to experience it, as I'm sure it was lovely inside and I can only hope the rest of the employees were much more kind and accommodating, or at least able to answer a simple question. Fire your "bouncer" (??) and hire someone with some basic customer service and communication skills!!

Lots of people (Sat night starting @ 10p), seats a little hard to come by. Drinks were very good, strong but not nuts. Prices were average for Chicago. Bartenders were very cool. The main guy stayed in the center of the bar all night and he had a great attitude; smiled all the time and was cool all night! Would go back any night and recommend to all looking for a fantastic bar.

You only get two per order, but they're so good you won't mind ordering another round. They do have other flavors, but at this point, the buffalo ones are a must every time. The drinks are also really good and a little different from most places. They put thought into their cocktails, sometimes using things like pure cane sugar and unique combinations that still taste great. Definitely recommend Brandon as a bartender...he did his thing. The vibe is dark and moody, which I love, and they even ring a little bell at the bar. Right next door is Sunnygun, their brighter, brunch style spot, which makes for a cool night to day contrast, even though I haven't tried it yet. I've always sat at the bar, and service has been great. MoneyGun has become one of our go to bars, and we'll definitely be back.

I get why it is always booked. If I was to come back, I would do it all again except ...maybe instead of the burger... try something else hmm

The cocktails were beautifully crafted and worth the visit alone. The food was good, but not necessarily the star of the night. The Fam and I are always looking for new places to indulge one of our favorite food groups, which…read moreis brunch with bottomless mimosas. After doing a search on Yelp, I decided we should check out HIDE+SEEK. Ding ding ding! We have a winner folks. We decided to go with the Brunch Party. First let me start off saying that Brunch Party is one plate, one side, and endless mimosas. The entire table participation is required and there is a strict 1.5 hour time limit. That said, Angelique (was our server) was on point during that time period. Our glasses never got pass the half-way mark and a good time was had by all! HIDE+SEEK has a pretty chilled vibe and the décor was cool, a very nice bar area, booths on the east side of the restaurant and tables in the front. I think there was a back area, but can't for sure as I didn't explore as we were seated immediately in our booth. Angelique was very cool. She welcomed us and asked if it was our first time there (it was) and began to explain the menu, focusing on Brunch Party and that everyone at the table had to participate, which we did. For my entrée I got the Short Rib Hash (Sunny side up egg, piquillo pepper, red wine jus, rosemary mornay) and my side was Eggs Your Way (over easy). I got an order of the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (honey-whipped ricotta, blueberry compote, maple syrup) for the table. Both dishes were very nice. I am a sucker for anything with short rib meat in it and this hit well with me. The pancakes were good, nice and fluffy, and the compote was very good. They weren't as lemony as I have had at other restaurants. The flavor was there, but in a subtle way, almost like an afterthought, but still nice. The pancakes themselves were nice and fluffy, just they way I like them. The Doctor got the cheeseburger and fries, which looked nice. He cleaned his plate so I have to assume it was good. The Queen got the Steak and Eggs. I had a bite of the steak and it was tender and had a nice flavor to it. Overall we had a great time and while it was only an hour and a half, it seemed longer. I will totally come back here again for brunch, but want to check out their happy hour and dinner as well. The menus looks interesting.

Even so, it wasn't enough to necessitate the price tag, which all of my friends and I were surprised by when we paid at the end. The cocktails were outstanding - we all enjoyed our choices. For some of us, they were enjoyable enough where we got the same one more than once 0:) Our server was not very friendly - she does not need to act like our BFF or anything like that, but she was cold and seemed annoyed by our questions and such. She also had no idea about the wine, so my friend just rolled the dice on what she wanted without knowing much about it. She wound up liking it - but more clarity would've been helpful (or even seeking out someone else working there for more info!). Minor environment note: The largest artwork there is a triptych of photographs - three famous women: Princess Diana, Sharon Tate (I think?), and Marilyn Monroe. There is a horizontal band going across where their eyes all line up, and the band replaces their eyes with cartoon eyes, likely of Disney princesses. It is supposed to be quirky but I found it creepy, especially since it featured three famous women who met untimely ends.

We decided to dine at the bar so we could take advantage of the everyday happy hour and use our InKind app. The espresso martini was a HIT. Our favorites were the chips and dips, cheeseburger, chicken taco pita, truffle fries, and oysters. The wings were just okay and I did not love the herb aioli. Our bartender server, I believe her name was Delia, sorry if I spelled it wrong, was super nice. She got slammed but still gave great service the whole time. Even the area they kept water for easy access was well thought out. I started with a dozen oysters and ended with the wagyu smash burger, as it was a must order. The wagyu smash burger was pretty good and filling. I'm not the biggest fan of burgers but this one is definitely worth trying! My waiter was attentive and chill. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and can't wait to come back!
