Visited with a tea group that I'm a member of . What a beautiful restaurant. Everything from the waiter to the food quality was top tier. This is more of a casual tea service but of very good quality. I enjoyed my time here and can see myself coming back again to try the breakfast or lunch menu items .

Updated review **** This time made up for the last time I came - Came to the Allis to catch up with friends - we were sat right off the door by the windows - which was fine. It waiter came by a few times to check in and to get our order - we started with the croquettes, then ordered our dragon fruit and grapefruit drinks (non-alcoholic) - that kind of day! - and then the three of us had the Allis burgers. One of my friends really liked the aioli that came with the croquettes that our waiter Bryan gave her three small containers when we left. We also ordered the basque cheesecake - which actually tasted good. Hope to come back another time.

Look, I haven't tried anything on the menu yet. That is a definite must in the future: the menu looks incredible. This is my favorite spot to enjoy a sophisticated, industrial and rustic ambiance while also trying to get some work done. I am always so pleased with the service I receive, and I'm only grabbing a coffee or one of the fruit smoothies. Thank you Soho and Allis. I'll be back.

We went for afternoon tea for Mother's Day! The ambiance was very nice. Tea is an experience. There seemed to be more sweet items than savory (finger sandwiches). We wished we had eaten a high protein savory breakfast before going in the afternoon. The sugar hangover was real! I would like to come back to this restaurant to order off their actual menu!

So when I booked the Afternoon Tea Experience I had to pre pay or at least that's what I thought I did. It was $126.00. We were a few min early for our reservation and it was not an issue. We each got our own tea. Mine blueberry hibiscus. Husbands Earl Grey. Our Tower: starting with on the bottom , 2 each egg salad sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, and salmon and cream cheese. Next level macaron's (we don't like coconut) , citrus cupcakes and blood orange tart. Top level chocolate biscotti, citrus cookies, blueberry lemon scones, clotted cream and orange marmalade. I liked the cucumber sandwiches and my husband ate the egg salad. The salmon were ok I just don't care for salmon much in this type of preparation. Second level we each ate citrus cupcake and blood orange tart. They were both good. Top level He ate the chocolate biscotti and one citrus cookies. I tasted the biscotti and scone and I was not a fan of either. I tried the clotted cream and frankly it tasted like sour cream? Is that what clotted cream tastes like? The marmalade was good. For the price it really wasn't that much of an experience. Not far from where we live we can do afternoon tea with multiple teas and you can choose what your tower has and it's probably half the cost. They also made no mention of our anniversary on the reservation. When the bill came I mentioned I had to prepay for the experience and was told they don't charge the card at that time. It's just to hold the reservation. I hope I didn't just pay twice for this.

I really wanted to give this place more stars but there were just a few aspects of the meal I didn't love. The restaurant itself was beautiful and cozy, and the staff was friendly, but the menu wasn't very clear and the servers didn't do a great job clarifying - I got the croque madame and it was very good, but while ordering I said I wanted veggies too, so I was asking about thes sides. At no point did the waiter tell me the meal did come with a side salad, and when I asked if the tomatoes/mushrooms/spinach were a mix together or separate I swear he told me they were together so I ordered what I thought was a medley but no, it was three separate sides which I had to pay for individually, which was upsetting. The food was good, but the lack of clarity on the menu and the miscommunication with the waiter definitely dampened the experience.

We went for a weekend breakfast here and found the service indifferent and lacking and the food expensive for what it was. It took close to 20 minutes just to get a latte and a coffee and even longer for the food. There was only one other table in the restaurant occupied when we ordered, so I don't know if the kitchen was busy fulfilling room service (the restaurant is in Soho House) orders or what.

The Allis is hit or miss - strictly because of service. Today was one of those days where we couldn't find a server and she was very unfriendly. All of the food and drinks I have tried here have been a hit! Love their hibiscus tea, and I tried the Shakshuka today and it was flavorful and delicious. Great work from home spot with a beautiful ambiance and plenty of tables.

Very beautiful and and elegant high tea, ten dollars more to add champagne or rose. Very comfortable and chic atmosphere. A very large selection of tea and wonderful selection of finger sandwiches and sweets. The service is impeccable and very accommodating and patient. Everything that you would except from the public restaurant at an elegant private club.

Came here with a large group for brunch and afternoon tea. Including young kids, teenagers, adults and older grandparents. Everyone left happy with the food and options. Some had the full tea, others brunch and cocktails. The sticky pudding cake was also delicious. Service was prompt, easy and efficient. Had tables by the street window and enjoyed the downtown location and planning for afternoon walking stops.

We came here for brunch. I personally enjoyed the shakshuka and my partner enjoyed the omelette. Overall, the food was good but on the pricey side. The smoothie tasted healthy. We thought service was a bit slow

Service was 5/5 but food was 4/5. I liked what I had but seems my table mates were underwhelmed. This is one of my cousin's favorite places for burrata. Specifically that. We ordered some and it was definitely fresh! Very impressive! We also ordered drinks from the HH menu. I had something called the Aviation Martini. Yum! Some of my table mates tried: dragonfruit sour, Eastern Standard gin, Pinot Noir, and Dolce Notte. Food wise, we shared oysters, truffle fries and burrata, of course. The oysters were okay. I've had better. Truffle fries were good at least! Not every truffle fry is made equally. I got the charred broccolini salad and added avocado. Delicious! Something I would order again. It's filling and the dressing isn't overwhelming. My friends got: the Branzino, fish and chips, and the courgette salad with chicken. They were not impressed. Flavors were lacking...even though presentation was there. My cousin told us the old menu was a lot better. Dessert wise, we shared ice cream, half baked cookie, and sticky toffee pudding. It's all pretty sweet. But the cookie paired much better with caramel ice cream not the vanilla it came with. I liked the saltyness and sweetness of the toffee pudding although my table mates thought it was skippable. Service was good though. Our server was honest about the drinks she liked. And I do like the vibe here. Classy but yet dark and cozy. They have a tea time sorta thing in the mornings. And the upstairs felt more like a pub. You can watch them grilling up the meats. Bathrooms were antiquated, but fit the vibe. Great spot to come back for a drink!

Such a cute and cozy spot for girls night (or date night). Our server was wonderful, super attentive, funny, and very helpful as we navigated the drink menu. I ended up sticking with my go-to old fashioned (which was delicious) but my friends did end up trying something new and enjoyed all the drink recommend by our server. Will definitely be back.

How does the High Tea Work? I saw a menu on here with approx 10 teas and 10 foods. Do we choose and how many of each? Tks

Can you sit on the main level and use the WiFi? I was thinking about doing some work while having breakfast but didn't know if this was more of a restaurant than a coffee shop vibe.

It's definitely more of a restaurant vibe (table service etc) than coffee shop vibe. I didn't see anyone with computers around midday brunch.

Do you need to be a member in order to come and have breakfast or lunch here?

Nope, you can get seated at any table for food even if you're not a member!

Are they kid friendly for brunch? Do they seem to accommodate families who like to bring their children out for brunch?

Not a kid friendly place! But you can take kids there!

Hello! Does this spot serve tea as a drink option?

Hello! Yes we have a great list of tea by rate tea cellars as well as a full bar for any other beverages Hope to see you soon at the Allis !

    Brunch reservations even possible?

Yes I used open table. Try that!!

Can modifications be made for the afternoon tea to vegans?

    Vegans no. For tea probably.

Where do they get the lotion in the bathrooms from?

My guess it's the Cowshed brand :)

For the afternoon tea do they have free refills on the food?

Unfortunately, no; they charge individually for the items provided after the initial tray of assorted treats is provided.

    Do they have WiFi?

    Yes

It was no wonder when we arrived that there was a line out the door. We waited around 45 minutes, and the bouncer was a really nice fellow who kept track of the numbers and people at the door. Upon entering, we were immersed in a dimly lit retro-style lounge. It was quite loud inside and packed as we walked to our seats. The server was great at taking our orders and offering suggestions. I opted for the French 75, which featured sparkling wine and mixed gin, brandies, and citrus. The drink was delicious, but STRONG. I don't know what they put in the cocktails in America, but I am always finished after one drink. Needless to say, we were all struggling to finish our own drinks. My favourite touch was the coasters, I ended up keeping all of them so that I can reuse them at my galentines event next year. The 'bisous' with the kiss on the other side is a perfect touch! I think the drinks are fairly priced for USD. I would love to return someday to try other drinks and bar bites, and also try their sister bar, Sparrow.

Imagine my shock when we didn't even make it past the bouncer because he was so rude, AS OTHER RECENT REVIEWS HAVE MENTIONED AS WELL! We had dinner nearby and walked to Bisous after, and saw there was a line of 5 or 6 people outside. We expected this as we knew Bisous is a first come, first serve bar. We were curious what the wait time would look like, so we approached the front door to ask a host or employee inside (we assumed there'd be a desk with an employee working it who could give us a wait time). We had no problem waiting, just wanted to see how long they estimated it would be! Before we could even fully open the door, the bouncer swung the door open from the other side and hit me with the door. I stumbled back a few steps and he looked at us and said, and I quote, "What do you want?". I laughed at first because I thought he was joking and putting on a tough guy act. He was not. We quickly explained we just wanted to see what the wait time was, and he said "don't you see there's a line outside?" We said yes, and explained we just wanted to know a rough estimated wait time. He just blankly stared at us while ushering us out. Both my boyfriend and I have worked in customer-service roles for a very, very long time. This encounter was not only extremely rude and unprofessional, but he also hit me hard enough with the door to send me stumbling back, and then said nothing about it and continued to address us in a tone that was nothing less than annoyed and irritated. We didn't end up going inside because that encounter left such a bad taste in our mouths. I don't believe in spending my money at establishments that don't treat their customers with the bare minimum respect they deserve! Bummed we didn't get to experience it, as I'm sure it was lovely inside and I can only hope the rest of the employees were much more kind and accommodating, or at least able to answer a simple question. Fire your "bouncer" (??) and hire someone with some basic customer service and communication skills!!

The leche de Tigre (think ceviche in a glass) was savory, tangy, and something I would order again and again. To snack, we got the pepperoni flavored popcorn (they have a vegetarian version) and it blew me away. I would never have guessed it was vegetarian if we hadn't requested that specifically. Collectively, we ordered more than half the beverages on the menu. This is not the place for a quiet conversation. It may be one of the loudest restaurants I've visited in quite some time, and a nearby birthday celebration only added to the energy. That said, the atmosphere is part of the appeal. If you're looking for a fun, celebratory evening with friends or family, Gilt Bar delivers. I can't imagine choosing it for a business dinner. We started with the Tenderloin Steak Tartare and onion rings. Both were excellent. My daughter was craving the Bolognese, while I ordered the vodka rigatoni. The portions were generous, and both dishes were flavorful and satisfying. The truffle mafaldine appears to be the menu's most celebrated pasta and receives plenty of attention on Yelp, but we were very happy with our selections. Service was spot on throughout the evening. Food arrived with good pacing, drinks were refreshed promptly, and our server struck the right balance between attentive and intrusive. For dessert, we shared the gooey skillet cookie. Be warned: this thing arrives at the table with nuclear-level heat. The vanilla ice cream isn't just there for flavor, it's there for protection. One unusual observation: the floors seemed surprisingly slippery throughout the restaurant, something we noticed more than once. Our bill came to $159 before tip, which felt reasonable given the quality of the food, service, and overall experience. Between the lively atmosphere, strong food, excellent service, and vibrant bar scene, it's easy to understand why Gilt Bar has remained popular for more than 15 years

Gigi was an our server and she was attentive and informative. For food we ordered a variety, cucumber salad, the burrata, fried artichoke, French onion bread, octopus, hamachi, rib eye, filet and ravioli. Everything was amazing!!!! It is a small menu, but so many amazing options, you can't go wrong. We then went to the night club. Gina was our server and she was amazing also. Everyone had a blast Venue is beautiful, food is great, staff and vibe made the whole night!

Even so, it wasn't enough to necessitate the price tag, which all of my friends and I were surprised by when we paid at the end. The cocktails were outstanding - we all enjoyed our choices. For some of us, they were enjoyable enough where we got the same one more than once 0:) Our server was not very friendly - she does not need to act like our BFF or anything like that, but she was cold and seemed annoyed by our questions and such. She also had no idea about the wine, so my friend just rolled the dice on what she wanted without knowing much about it. She wound up liking it - but more clarity would've been helpful (or even seeking out someone else working there for more info!). Minor environment note: The largest artwork there is a triptych of photographs - three famous women: Princess Diana, Sharon Tate (I think?), and Marilyn Monroe. There is a horizontal band going across where their eyes all line up, and the band replaces their eyes with cartoon eyes, likely of Disney princesses. It is supposed to be quirky but I found it creepy, especially since it featured three famous women who met untimely ends.

We decided to dine at the bar so we could take advantage of the everyday happy hour and use our InKind app. The espresso martini was a HIT. Our favorites were the chips and dips, cheeseburger, chicken taco pita, truffle fries, and oysters. The wings were just okay and I did not love the herb aioli. Our bartender server, I believe her name was Delia, sorry if I spelled it wrong, was super nice. She got slammed but still gave great service the whole time. The ambience is gorgeous and the music really set the vibe. Would definitely come back!

Even the area they kept water for easy access was well thought out. I started with a dozen oysters and ended with the wagyu smash burger, as it was a must order. The oysters are $1 during happy hour, which is 4pm - 6pm everyday. The oysters were fresh and the perfect size, not too big or too small. It came with two sauces, lemons, and mini Tabascos. The wagyu smash burger was pretty good and filling. I'm not the biggest fan of burgers but this one is definitely worth trying! My waiter was attentive and chill. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and can't wait to come back!
