We visited Hide+Seek on a Sunday during their brunch hours. The host was a delight per usual and the place wasn't overly packed. The ambiance is classy and chic with chandeliers and adorable portraits making it the perfect setting for girl brunch. The girls and I decided on their bottomless mimosa brunch menu. You get to pick a main entree and a side aside the 90 min endless mimosa service. Two of us ordered the steak and eggs with a hash brown. I believe there was a bit of an up-charge for this choice ($45) which was worth it in my opinion since the steak was cooked to perfection and offered the right amount of protein. The hash browns were pretty standard and didn't really stand out. For my side I ordered the sausage links which were pretty tasty. I will say I wish they offered more veggie-based sides like a small salad besides fruit, bacon, sausage, eggs your way, and hash browns which were already part of my meal. My friend ordered the burger which she mentioned she enjoyed! Our waitress was very on top of service and would refill our mimosas frequently. Hide+Seek is always a vibe and I will definitely be back to try items from their normal menu during brunch!
A cute spot for an afternoon or evening bite in the heart of West Loop. The patio is gorgeous! Great for sunny fall afternoons! The place turns into a lounge at night with a live DJ on weekends. The bartender Antonio gave stellar customer service, knows his craft. I got their espresso martini and it was perfect, not overly sweet or acidic! Their grilled cheese and tomato bisque is to die for! I will be coming back for seconds. Overall a great 10/10 experience.
Found a great happy hour here everyday 4-6pm! We sat on the patio and its was super cute. The inside had a nice aesthetic as well but we wanted fun in the sun! Their oysters were fire! I personally didn't like the croquetas the meat was chewy inside and bland. I think most appetizers were $6-$10 and drinks like French 75, Ap spritz, old fashioned were $10. We definitely enjoyed ourselves here. Our server was very chill and tatted up, we liked his vibe!

The portion size isn't huge but there's a LOT of fat in this so it will make you feel full! I had had a drink beforehand too so I wasn't "starving," and I left pretty comfortably full. I was seated upstairs at the bar (there's an up and a downstairs bar) and the bartender was very nice, they served me pretty quick. I didn't hang about long but there were several couples clearly on dates, and I would say it's a nice spot for that -- not the fanciest, but certainly more upscale than casual. Bathrooms were immaculate too! Of note, I didn't have a car but saw metered parking directly out front and along the whole street there in shopping area. It was VERY packed but there was a lot of turnover so I imagine if you drove you wouldn't have to circle too long before finding a spot.
I brought a friend to celebrate her birthday at HIDE + SEEK for her special dinner. It was perfect. The room is snazzy and stylish. The lighting was glamorous and impressive. The music was perfect. Service was exceptional. Our server was enthusiastic and very helpful. He ensured my friend felt special. We ordered several things to share. We loved it all. The salad was so fresh and everything else was just as tasty. My friend enjoyed THREE desserts they brought out for her. The customized menu was the perfect touch.
Got there a bit early and grabbed a cocktail at the bar while waiting for my friend. The host and bartender were really nice. Cocktail was good. Average prices. Ordered the burger for brunch, felt there was minimal brunch options that didn't feel like lunch food. Everything was decent/ ok. My biggest issue is it was brunch and there was NO coffee. Allegedly the coffee machine is broke? I mean? You can't even get an old school coffee pot to serve coffee? Instead their solution was that I leave brunch and go next door and get coffees from levain bakery. Then I ordered a burger and they didn't have ranch for the fries??? Now they have salads on the menu so the fact they don't have ranch is weird. Overall staff was nice but the food was average and no coffee at weekend brunch was disappointing. I wouldn't go back.
The Fam and I are always looking for new places to indulge one of our favorite food groups, which is brunch with bottomless mimosas. After doing a search on Yelp, I decided we should check out HIDE+SEEK. Ding ding ding! We have a winner folks. We decided to go with the Brunch Party. First let me start off saying that Brunch Party is one plate, one side, and endless mimosas. The entire table participation is required and there is a strict 1.5 hour time limit. That said, Angelique (was our server) was on point during that time period. Our glasses never got pass the half-way mark and a good time was had by all! HIDE+SEEK has a pretty chilled vibe and the décor was cool, a very nice bar area, booths on the east side of the restaurant and tables in the front. I think there was a back area, but can't for sure as I didn't explore as we were seated immediately in our booth. Angelique was very cool. She welcomed us and asked if it was our first time there (it was) and began to explain the menu, focusing on Brunch Party and that everyone at the table had to participate, which we did. For my entrée I got the Short Rib Hash (Sunny side up egg, piquillo pepper, red wine jus, rosemary mornay) and my side was Eggs Your Way (over easy). I got an order of the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (honey-whipped ricotta, blueberry compote, maple syrup) for the table. Both dishes were very nice. I am a sucker for anything with short rib meat in it and this hit well with me. The pancakes were good, nice and fluffy, and the compote was very good. They weren't as lemony as I have had at other restaurants. The flavor was there, but in a subtle way, almost like an afterthought, but still nice. The pancakes themselves were nice and fluffy, just they way I like them. The Doctor got the cheeseburger and fries, which looked nice. He cleaned his plate so I have to assume it was good. The Queen got the Steak and Eggs. I had a bite of the steak and it was tender and had a nice flavor to it. Overall we had a great time and while it was only an hour and a half, it seemed longer. I will totally come back here again for brunch, but want to check out their happy hour and dinner as well. The menus looks interesting.

We had reservations for 8pm and one thing to note, parking is pretty scarce in that area, so rideshare is honestly your best bet. When we arrived, it was fairly crowded but not overwhelming. The tables were well-spaced, which I appreciated, so it didn't feel like we were on top of each other because the space is relatively small. The ambiance immediately stood out; dim and moody lighting. It set the tone without trying too hard. Our waitress was great and walked us through the menu and made some recommendations. I started with the Warm Welcome Call mocktail, which was refreshing and well-balanced (not too sweet) and he had an Old Fashioned. For food, we ordered the Spanish octopus, branzino, and braised short ribs. Every dish ate (pun intended). The octopus was tender, the branzino was cooked well, and the short ribs were rich and he mentioned it not being too heavy. Between the food, the ambiance, and the service, it was a really well-rounded experience. Definitely a spot I'd go back to when I'm visiting again.
This place was fine I guess. The service was nice and the place was well managed. We split a burger and it took much longer than average. Without asking, the manager stepped over to our table to apologize and offer us a drink for the wait. The burger was a good average. Like a 3.5 star. The side salad was forgettable. Basic dressed greens. The service was the real hero of this reviewer. Might be back for cocktails.
The vibe and the service we experienced on Thursday night was really good. I really wish that the food had been a little bit better. The Caesar salad salad we ordered for the table, came out completely drenched in dressing. I know they can do better. I had actually ordered the kale salad and it came out as a spinach salad. In a very tiny bowl. Again, we enjoyed the service. It's a busy café, so make a reservation if you wish to go.
Burger is juicy, side salad very meh. The lettuce topped with cucumber, croutons were nice spicy flavor, there was not much to it and dressing had no flavor. I would try the fries instead or get an entree salad Service was good overall. 20min after ordering our waitress acknowledged the delay in getting our food out, 5min later a manager offered to comp the dish or provide complimentary drink. I really appreciated that. Ambiance is nice visually but very loud when busy
Such a fantastic restaurant find! They have indoor and outdoor seating. On this particular day, everyone was outside and we opted to sit inside. But the service was still phenomenal and the ambience was relaxed. Chill, with a little romantic vibe if that's what you're looking for if you're on the inside. The Lumache was probably one of the best pasta dishes that I have ever eaten. The noodles were perfection, the cheese, the meat, everything. Please get that when you go with no adjustments! The sticky ribs are very good and I would suggest maybe adding cipiollini onions to them for the salad. We had the pear and kale salad as a starter, highly recommended.
We did a happy hour crawl for my bday ! This is a decent choice there are many options and the space is beautiful! Everyone was all smiles and they even have a small patio area !

Hide + Seek is the West Loop's best-kept secret hiding in plain sight. Unlike most cocktail bars that lean dark and moody, this place is bright and airy, with incredible art covering the walls. Every corner gives you something new to look at. The cocktails are every bit as creative as the space. I tried the Euro Summer, a gin cocktail that was crisp, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. The Birds and the Bees, a tequila riff on a Bee's Knees, was my favorite: smooth, a little floral, and totally unexpected. Both looked gorgeous, and yes, your Instagram feed will thank you. It's an ideal spot for catching up with friends or a date night, with enough energy to feel fun and enough room to actually talk. Upscale without being stuffy. Can't wait to go back and work my way through the rest of the menu! read more

Im giving a solid 5 based on my experience. Paid street parking. Solid food options for happy hour and non happy hour. Nice service. Grace was nice. The ambiance was cute, comfortable, and decorated for the holiday. Drinks: Noah River Cabernet, Hermanos Pecina Tempranillo ...the Tempranillo was well balanced. The Cab is bold but flavorful. Margarita is regular lime flavor with great flavor and you can taste the liquor. French 75 was tasty we ordered more than one. Chandon Spritiz nice light and flavorful. Definitely ordered more than one. Old fashion was kinda sweeter than any old fashion that I have ever had. I probably wouldn't order it again only because of the sweet. Happier hour menu: grilled oysters are yummy but the topping taste like something on a pasta still it was good. You get two smaller oysters for 6.00. great price. The mussels 10/10... Babbbyyyy the wine sauce was amazing with the baguettes. Order extra bread for a small cost. I even got some to go. The shrimp scampi skewer were tasty tasty. Three big shrimp flavored well. Dinner menu I ordered Lumache pasta... Sausage, rapini, vodka sauce, leek cream, and a herb ricotta. Very delicious!!! Even for a smaller stomach. read more

Overall great experience, celebrated 2 birthdays and the service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, not hiccups! The drinks were very well made and refreshing. Inside is a little dark, but the windows/doors do open up to let in a lot of natural light. They also do bottomless mimosas for weekend brunch, but the entire table must opt in! read more

Came here for a friend's birthday party. I ordered the French Kiss and Safe Word. The French Kiss was really good. Didn't really care for the Safe Word. The group also had green tea shots that were amazing. There were not a lot of GF options. I had the pear and kale salad which was really good. I'm also a vegetarian so I could really only order sides. I had the whipped mashed potatoes and asparagus. The only dessert that was GF was vanilla ice cream. Wish they offered GF pasta - the options sounded delicious. However the server was very knowledgeable and accommodating with being celiac. read more

Such a beautiful place. Hide & Seek was an incredible place. Very intimate, Candle lit tables, dim lighting with the beautiful art that covered the entire walls. Very classy. Staff were very kind. Was greeted and seated by my waiter Angela. She was very polite and helpful. She made kindly suggestions of her favs and took care of me the entire night with Grace. Menu and drinks were pretty simple. I ordered the Braised short rib with mashed, asparagus and my other entree Lumache. Along with my perfect margarita called "Safe Word" Dinner was delicious. Pasta was creamy and deliciously flavorful. Braised rib fell apart as I spooned with my mashed potatoes! Yummmy! I like liked it wasn't to crowded food was great and music was a VIBE! Stopped by on a briefly day to sit on the patio at sunset for every day happy hour on a Sunday! As the name suggests, it's available from 4-6pm every day (even weekends!) Staff was really great and super accommodating and diligent about my friend's allergies and dietary restrictions. Our server even gave us a last call to order off the happy hour menu before they switched to dinner, which I thought was very nice and thoughtful! The patio is SUPER cute, very clean and covered so you're not directly in the sun. It's a little Chandon spritz garden with floral and a neon sign and a bar cart. For two people, it came out to about $90 (with drinks) which is pretty reasonable for a Randolph st restaurant of this caliber! Great place to sit a while and catch up and yap with a friend over good food and tasty drinks! read more

Cute place. We stumbled in for Happy Hour. We had plans to be entertained nearby. Had the loveliest table facing the outside but getting all the cool AC air. Our server was nice. Good drink and food specials for HH. We enjoyed our appetizers and drinks. I would come back to dine or for more drinks. read more

Super fun and cool bar in Chicago . Visited on my first night, have no idea which area this is in but definitely worth finding it. We had met friends here and Saturday night had a DJ and great music. They have a slew of cool cocktails and food too but we didn't eat. We had some great drinks from the menu and danced for a bit and then it got too loud so we left! Service was slow but they were slammed. Definitely a great place for craft cocktails. Fun times ! read more

Came here with a couple friends recently and had an enjoyable time. Our server was nice and our food came in a decent amount of time. The restaurant feels modern and since we were seated outside we were able to watch everyone walking by in the West Loop area (young crowd and Levain Bakery is next door). I had the French 75 cocktail ($18) and it was delicious, didn't have an alcohol taste but got me a little tipsy. My friends loved their drinks also. I had the French onion bread which came with a sautéed onion drizzle in a mini cup and it was so filling, crunch, and delicious. My friends had the lumache pasta and thought portion size was a little smaller than they assumed. We didn't go upstairs but it didn't seem like many people were going up even though it was getting late. Wish the upstairs bar was more popular. Overall: cute place in West Loop to get dinner and drinks but on the more expensive side (of course) and the upstairs "club" didn't seem like a club. I made a reservation for dinner to catch up with friends. We ordered quite a few items from the menu: croquettes, a pasta, Brussels sprouts, short rib and sticky rib. My favorite were the sticky ribs and croquettes. We did not care for the Brussels sprouts because they were overly charred. Our waitress was nice and pretty knowledgeable about the menu. The inside dining area was nice. I particularly liked the chairs. I would not go back, but I did enjoy it as one of the hotspots in Chicago that I had on my "must try" list. read more
We stumbled upon this spot looking for a place that was still serving food after 10 pm on a Monday, which is not easy to find. We arrived early for our 10:45 reservation was seated right away. I immediately loved the space. The lighting, decor, and overall vibe were soothing and stylish. Nice music too. When our server came by, she indicated the kitchen would be closing in about 5 to 10 minutes, which surprised us since the host had said it was open until 11. We quickly ordered crispy Brussels sprouts, short rib, Lamuche pasta, and mussels with fries (modules frites). Everything arrived at the same time and every dish was delicious, but the two person table felt very cramped. It would have been nice to have dishes staggered or to be offered an additional table for space, especially so late in the evening. The cocktails were outstanding but the pricing was unexpected. My first drink was a signature tequila based cocktail with passionfruit and aperol ( $18), while the second, which was the same drink without Aperol, was $26! My dining companions's martini came to $24 once the vodka choice and olive add ons were factored in. The drinks were excellent, but the pricing details should have been explained in advance. We mentioned the surprise to our server after paying, and the manager immediately came over to apologize and offer to adjust the charge or give us a round on the house. We declined but appreciated how graciously it was handled. The food, service, and atmosphere were all wonderful, and I would happily return. Next time I will probably order a listed cocktail only or wine to avoid surprises. read more
