I popped in here solely to have a drink and use the facilities and found myself wishing I had spent more time here or had room for a bite to eat. The bar service was excellent - a cold beer and finally, a shot of Malort were in order. The bartenders were very welcoming and clearly making sure all of the patrons were having a good time. The restrooms were oddly decorated - the women's restroom is plastered all over with images of Justin Timberlake, while Britney Spears adorns the walls of the men's room. Luckily, her pics aren't current - they are from her hot era. What a cool spot if you are a local or a tourist - I'll be sure to pop in on my next visit to Chicago, for sure. read more

Nashville hot chicken didn't really taste like chicken and the pickles were dipped in a weird vinegar. The tenders also came with four breakfast pancakes...like what? The menu said the Nashville tenders came with scallion pancakes which is a savory Asian pancake...but these were 4 American breakfast pancakes. Bandit also didn't have any butter or syrup...so what the actual heck was supposed to happen to these pancakes-it was just a waste. I remember having this incredible kung pao cauliflower bites here and they said they changed the menu but still had cauliflower. I forgot to ask for them the kung pao style like the appetizer and I ordered them in buffalo sauce-two choice. The cauliflower was so droopy and squishy when I got it. The buffalo sauce only made it worse as none of it was crispy and the whole meal was drenched in buffalo sauce. It was a communication issue on my end for sure, but I also thought it was going to be much crispier and not soggy. The ranch definitely was mixed with water and it dropped off anything I put in it. Our server was a really nice lady and none of this was her fault as she tried to substitute the cauliflower. She was decently attentive and very busy as she started serving a large party of 10 next to us outside on the patio. Unfortunately I wouldn't come back here if someone paid me. I know this is more of a sports bar but for something that was around $75-theres definitely better tasting food literally everywhere else. The only good thing about this meal were the waffle fries which were probably frozen before serving but I'm trying to find the silver lining. read more

I'd recommend this place if you're in the area. It's in a great location, there's plenty of space, and the food is good. Would I go out of my way to visit, no. During my visit, the servers were..odd. They weren't unfriendly but perhaps collectively tired. Nevertheless, I had a southwestern salad turned into a wrap (this was very good) along with waffle fries and dipping sauce. Every time I go to Bandit I have a GREAT TIME! First experience was for a bottomless mimosa brunch with close friends and everything we ate was great. Wings, burger & waffle fries, and cinnamon rolls. Let's talk about the star of the show the mimosas! The perfect amount of juice and the right serving of champagne. The service was great. Good music and nice atmosphere. The second time I came for happy hour and enjoyed the shady lady drink (tequila) and the mozzarella stick the wings were okay this go around I could have them cooked a little longer next time. I've seen Bandit on several "best happy hours in Chicago" lists so we decided to check it out. Waited 30 min on a Friday before getting seated indoors. There were plenty of tables outside, which we would've preferred. Hostess didn't ask for inside vs outside so our fault for assuming those tables were accounted for. Food and drink was decent. Pay attention to the happy hour menu. Prices are deceiving because it's discounted but you also get less food (1 slider, 1 mozz stick, etc). We mainly ordered off of the regular menu. It has been forever since we dined and had drinks downtown, so when an errand brought us in the area, we couldn't leave without stopping somewhere. Decided we would hit the Fulton Market area and landed at Bandit. Was lucky to find street parking just a few storefronts away. Sat at the bar, it was not a 3-digit heat wave day and the front windows were all open, so it was confortable. Started with Jose Cuervo traditional margaritas which were refreshing. I had the chicken lettuce wraps which were really good. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, the peanut sauce had a little bit of zing and the chicken salad was very tasty. I love Bandit! Great location in the west loop. I love the atmosphere. It has 2 levels with the top level that can turn into a club during the weekend. My favorite part of bandit is the bathrooms which are decorated with pictures of Britney Spears plastered all over and also Justin Timberlake. There is also one that has the spice girls but I have not seen that one yet. It's awesome they have $10 well drinks and a shot wheel you can spin and which ever shot you land on the bartender will make for you for just $5. I've also come here for brunch during the weekend when they have $35 bottomless mimosas. The best bartender there is Nate! He is so attentive and nice. I can't wait to go back to Bandit! read more

Bandit is a solid option if you're looking for bar food with the vibes. They had a pretty good playlist going, and even though we visited during Taste of Randolph, they were not too busy. Our table started with the mozzarella sticks which I enjoyed, but the others didn't due to the very thin tempura batter. The entrees we felt 50/50 on. I did the chicken gyro which had a nice flavor, however felt like it was mostly pita bread and fries. For the price I would have expected a bit more filling. They also have a full bar but were unable to make a Hugo spritz which seems like a miss, especially during the summer. Overall we will return, but it isn't high on the priority list. read more

From 90s hits to elevated bar food and a great patio, Bandit is a great spot to wind down after work or celebrate a weekend! We stopped by around 5pm during the week and it wasn't difficult to snag a spot. It's very festive inside and the patio is super nice, so this would be a great place to head to on a nice day. They have an excellent happy hour menu with drinks and appetizers nearly half off, which are pretty sizable. To drink, I opted for the rosé- it was ok, but I wouldn't order this again. We split the Nashville hot chicken tenders and the Lyra hummus. The chicken was super crispy with a delicious and slightly sweet yet spicy sauce. They were served with pancakes and cole slaw- all put together, the dish was an interesting twist on the classic chicken and waffles. The hummus was a bit watery, but the olive oil was of very good quality and I enjoyed the variety of crudites. The pita chips were freshly fried and extra crispy, but I think regular pita would've been nice to make it a bit more filling. Overall, I thought the portions were a good value for HH and enjoyed the vibe after a workday. Will be keeping this spot on the radar and am looking forward to trying more of the menu! read more

The service was fantastic in making sure that the bottom of your mimosa glass was never seen! I ordered the chicken and waffles for brunch and felt there wasn't too much chicken meat. The waffles were a bit dry, too. The prices for everything were very decent for the area, especially with how quickly they refill your mimosas. They were surprisingly busy given the rain & the bears were playing, but great atmosphere. The bartender was very kind and pretty attentive given how many people she was waiting on. There's a spicy sauce on top and it comes with smaller pieces of chopped cabbage, pickled onion, jalapeno, pico de gallo, and the guac inside is amazing. Surprisingly, I've never been to bandit before and man, I have missed out!! What a perfect spot right in the heart of west loop for an outing with friends or even a casual date! The southwestern chicken salad was SOOO FREAKING GOOD! It had big pieces of avocado, grilled chicken, black beans, corn, pico, and crispy tortilla strips on the top!
