This was a very pleasant place to stay , it has a very much party environment. We are definitely staying here again, the music from the rooftop is kinda pound but it stops completely at 2am and start back at 11am . The only things is parking , it's 75.00 usd a night . One reason I like it is because of location. I was 10 minutes from my favorite restaurant and bars also target is a 5 minute walk .

Visited IO Godfrey at the Godfrey Hotel for a rooftop lunch and left with mixed feelings. The rooftop space itself is beautiful stylish setting with a great city view and a relaxed vibe. It's definitely a spot made for the ambiance. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal, which made a difference when one of the main dishes didn't come out quite right. I ordered the steak frites, but the steak arrived overcooked and had to be sent back. To their credit, the staff handled it professionally and replaced it without any hassle. The truffle fries were crispy and flavorful, and the cocktails were nicely presented refreshing and well-balanced. We also had the slider trio, which looked great but tasted average overall. Nothing bad, just not quite on par with the prices or setting. Overall, the experience was a mix: amazing rooftop vibe and great service, but the food was inconsistent. Worth a visit for the atmosphere and drinks, but temper expectations when it comes to the food.

We had a great 4 night stay in January. We booked a suite with a king bed and pullout couch for our six year old. It had comfortable bedding, nice toiletries and gorgeous views of the city skyline. Housekeeping came daily and did a great job. The hotel is comfortable, affordable and in a great location for walking to restaurants and attractions. But speaking of restaurants, the one right downstairs is fantastic. My only suggestions: more storage space would be helpful for people staying multiple nights like we did. I don't like living out of my suitcase. Even just a couple of drawers in the nightstands or under the TV would be helpful.

We came here for dinner while in town for the GNX tour! I got the lamb chops which were delicious. I also got a really tasty drink, I forgot the name of. My husband got the steak and unfortunately had to send it back because it was over cooked. The 2nd one came out perfectly though. We really came for the view which did not disappoint!

Stated in Chicago for the weekend to just have a good time and relax. The rooftop itself was breathtaking... the view was unforgettable! We ordered a martini flight of which were really good! We just ordered finger foods (edamame beans) of which were good as well! Customer service was pretty good! The music was pretty good as well, I'd definitely come back!

This rooftop has everything; fully stocked bar, meal service, luxury seating, good music and an amazing view. This open space has quite the dance floor. I am not much of a dancer but when I hear any "slide" music, something comes over me and I instantly get into the groove. I was here for a really cool volunteer event; giving back materials and supplies to fifty CPS teachers to help set up their classrooms for the coming school year. A big thanks to Target. Each of the selected teachers also received concert tickets donated by Live Nation. The staff at the Godfrey was more than amazing. Drinks continued to pour, and food was often replenished. There were angus sliders, lamb meatballs, chicken skewers, mini egg-rolls, crab cakes, garlic parm fries and dessert bites. I didn't get any food because I was working and when I was done, the food was gone. It did look pretty and it smelled divine. I was able to grab a bourbon berry lemonade. Very good. Of course, I will have to return for one of the Godfrey's special events or brunch.

Overall, there are WAY worse places you could stay in Chicago than The Godfrey, but this was a pretty middling experience in terms of amenities and lackluster in terms of service. My employer rented out the rooftop lounge for an evening event as well as the adjoining conference room for three days. We all stayed at The Godfrey. My coworker booked all of our rooms for us; all we had to do was give the front desk staff our names upon checking in. That was too hard for the girl who helped me out, who was about as welcoming as a wet sock and as fast as flowing molasses in the dead of winter. We stood in total silence for at least a couple of minutes while she tried to find me in their system, providing me with no feedback on what was going on while she scrolled endlessly. That gave me an opportunity to eavesdrop on the other guest checking in next to me, who was getting the same level of hospitality (which is to say, abysmal) from the other front desk girl. The hotel had me down for check-in a day too early for whatever reason, and she made sure to note that I was checking in a day late with some serious attitude (even though I wasn't actually late, they just don't know how to take down simple dates and instructions and the error was on their end). I checked into my room, which was quiet and comfortable, though there were some visible signs of wear on the furniture and baseboards. But everything was clean and I slept like a log each night, so that was a plus. The drawbacks: - Ice machines only on every other floor - No bottled water in your room; if you wanted water, you had to phone down to the front desk, who would bring it up to you (according to coworkers that had to do this) - Nothing in your room except coffee - The hotel apparently has such poor sound insulation that security is overzealous with knocking on doors and telling people to be quiet for talking at a regular volume and accusing people of being too loud who aren't making any noise at all. Two coworkers experienced this, including one woman who was getting ready in silence in the bathroom and received a knock on her door telling her she was too loud - Only onsite restaurant has been closed for two years Hotel staff were really great in helping us set up for the party and then working the event. We had so much food available for everyone and it was all REALLY good. The bartenders were working hard for hours in keeping the drinks flowing. The view from the Godfrey rooftop lounge is great and the roof can close if the weather gets cold or inclement. Checkout happened to be with the same girl who checked me in and she was just as cold, incompetent, and unwelcoming as our first interaction. This time she claimed I was checking out a day early. If I were booking my own hotel for a return trip to Chicago, I'd look into other hotels before considering returning to The Godfrey.

This review is for the brunch held on the rooftop on Sunday, February 16. The actual hotel staff in the lobby were very nice. However, the staff at the stand to enter to the rooftop were not very accommodating. Every question seemed to rub them the wrong way. We had reservations and they wanted to sit up on the lounge area vs the rooftop. However, once seated our waitress was nice. We were able to enjoy the food and drinks.

The Fam and I have spent a lot of time at the Godfrey Rooftop bar for Happy Hour, so The Doctor and I decided to check out the hotel side of things for a staycation. The location of the hotel is great as it is in walking distance of a lot of great places to eat. There is also a great parking lot through Spot Hero where you can park that is way cheaper than the hotel. It is about a half of block from the hotel, so not a bad walk. We got the One-Bedroom King Suite which had a wonderful view of the city. I will say that for a suite it was on the small side when compared to some of the older hotels we have stayed at. But based on the rate we paid at the time ($139), we were not complaining. The room, while on the small side, had all of the amenities needed to make our stay comfortable. We were on the side of the hotel facing south, so the views were great. I am a big fan of watching travel and people while having a drink and this did not disappoint. There was a wet bar and like one reviewer mentioned, it was weirdly located but had plenty of space to store our luggage, which was great based on the size of the room. While the room was on the small size, The Godfrey did right by the fridge. That bad boy was able to hold eight bottles of bubbles and that make me happy. I would stay here just for the fridge alone...HAHAHAHAHA!

Ask the Community - The Godfrey Hotel Chicago

What time is check in / check out?

4 pm but there's early check for no extra cost if you come in and try. For example today we had regular check in @4pm and just winged it off the flight arrived around noon and they had a room ready for us then at no extra cost. Great service here.

Is this hotel suitable for kids? Is there a pool?

No swimming pool. It's pretty upscale and more business oriented. I'm here on a corporate event right now. I'd say not that great for kids.

This hotel was located within the loop near the river, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are basic and small. We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago.

Lady on the phone was rude, told me no and hung up on me mid sentence. I wasn't able to eat my share because well, it was LATE. Wife said her food simply wasn't good regardless. Something as simple as butter and jelly for the toast wasn't provided. Arrived back between meetings. Stood out front and in the lobby for over 15 minutes to try and give my keys to the valet attendant. No one was anywhere to be found. Wouldn't answer calls from the front desk. They finally took my keys then some dude chased me down saying they can't keep them and I have to keep waiting. Oh this made me LATE to my next meeting. $89 a day for poor performance was not worth it. I would 100% suggest parking yourself or a block over at London house. They always have 4+ attendants. Help with luggage and doors etc. oh and it's CHEAPER. We appreciated the room upgrade. The room itself was okay. It wouldn't get below 71 degrees and got upwards of 76 degrees during the day. I want to say that I have had my eye on this hotel for a while now after looking for Hilton hotel locations with a peloton bike, which this one has. Other than that, I loved that the location of this hotel sits in the heart of Chicago, surrounding a plethora of activities which made it the perfect choice for hotel stay to celebrate. Okay, it was an experience going up to the lobby area to check in at this hotel, a blonde moment as I am known for if you follow my reviews. The lobby is located on the 4th floor, so be sure to choose "L" for the lobby because there is no 4th floor button listed in the elevator. Me and two other hotel guests had an adventure going up to the lobby area after trying to figure out where the 4th floor button was. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and the receptionist giving me my room key. For your information, check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out ends at 12:00 PM! If you have the Hilton honors application, there is the opportunity to check in with the application, choosing your room, and receiving a digital key, which will allow you to go to your room contactless without seeing a receptionist upon your arrival. I have not used this method, but if you are interested in no contact whatsoever then you can use it with the Hilton Honors application. After locating and entering my room, I thought to myself this is fancy once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! There was a variation of vibrant colors in the room from its curtains to the headboard of the king-size bed, the carpet, and a gold chair that looked like something out of your grandmother's house. Out of all, I just could not take my eyes off the curtains which reminded me of cherry blossoms because of the colors. Inside the bathroom there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting my face and body. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, safe, comforter, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, and USB and AC plugins attached to either the headboard of the bed, lamps, or the television cabinet, which added a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn Majestic, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I must say that I was pleased to see several dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, a decent selection of workout machines, and two peloton fitness bikes which charmed me out of my panties once I spotted them. And oh, honey did I enjoy it on my birthday with the lovely Hannah Frankson as my peloton instructor, who put my legs through torture during her low impact workout. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served daily from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM. For you all visiting the city of Chicago, there are plentiful sights, activities, and restaurants within a radius of Hampton Inn Majestic. As a resident, a few that I adore are Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago! Next door is the CIBC Theatre, which I noticed upon my initial arrival at the hotel. And if you are looking to explore the city or outer part of the city, the Chicago Union Station, and CTA Train Station are very accessible to-and-from. I would surely book Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in downtown Chicago. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G

The most striking aspect was how spacious the room felt. We likely stayed in a Premier Room, which was quite large by city standards. The bed was massive, very comfortable, and just the right firmness. A detail that stands out is the space between the foot of the bed and the wall where the TV was mounted, which makes the room feel open and calm rather than cramped. The décor was elegant without feeling stuffy, highlighted by thoughtful touches like an espresso machine. The bathroom was another highlight: the frosted-glass window offered privacy while maintaining a sense of connection, and the rain shower had excellent water pressure and felt indulgent. The location is fantastic, convenient for work in the Loop, time in Grant Park, shopping on Michigan Avenue, or dining in River North or Fulton Market. During our trip, we ate nearby both nights, which made getting around easy and stress-free. The staff was warm and helpful throughout our stay, and breakfast at the hotel restaurant was memorable, even if the details are a bit hazy now. The lobby is beautiful, and several family members who stayed with us also commented on how much they enjoyed the hotel. At the time, pricing felt mid-range for a luxury hotel in Chicago, offering excellent value. It was summer, likely a less expensive time to visit, but even so, considering the room size, comfort, service, and location, it seemed like money well spent year-round. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We would happily return and are eager to explore other Langham properties worldwide.

We were in town briefly for a wedding, and the JW Marriott was our hotel of choice. While not…read moreluxury, the hotel was very nice and comfortable, and the location was central to our wedding happenings. Everything was great until I checked out and discovered that I had been charged $88 per night for parking. That was quite unexpected. I had been in Chicago just a few months earlier and had paid $55 at the L7 Hotel. So I was shocked that the JW could charge so much. How is their valet parking better than the valet parking at the L7? I realize now that had I been traveling alone, and not with my family, it would have been cheaper to fly to Chicago, than drive the 4.5 hours from Ohio. Apparently the hospitality industry hasn't caught on to the current affordability crisis, or at least Marriott hasn't.

Check in is quick, rooms are fine (and clean), and the executive lounge is nice. I was warned about eating in the bar on the first floor, which I hadn't done in a few years, but it was getting late, and the weather stunk. I saw friends in the bar area, so I took root at the table nearby. Service was fine, and I enjoyed a few of the Amber bee on draft. The menu looked good, and I ended up with a steak fried rice bowl. The steak was gross. It didn't even look like steak that should be served. It was fatty and tasteless. I ate less than 1/2 the rice and 1/3 of the steak. I wasn't starving, so it wasn't a huge deal, but those who told me to avoid the bar area for food were right.

I've been to Miru many times and finally got to try out the hotel for a staycation…read more Pros: -I loved that they had two restaurant options in the hotel. Both have incredible views but I would definitely recommend having at least one meal on the Miru patio if you are there during nice weather. -I was most surprised by their massive gym and has stunning views. It's also open 24 hours. They offered Pilates classes as well for an extra fee. -the hotel is brand new and all the finishes are so high end. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hallways are huge and felt like a maze to navigate but it also added to feeling of privacy. -there were so many high end details that made it extra special (the cozy Frette bath robes, welcome drinks, treat box in the room upon arrival, and the accent lighting in the room). -the location. It's just across the river from the heart of Michigan ave on the north end of a residential development. You don't feel like you are in the middle of the chaos of the city but the park, lake front and river are footsteps away. Negatives: -view was underwhelming ( fourth floor river view . Might choose the park view next time. I'd also recommend not facing the river as there was lots of honking/noise. -the room layout was awkward. They have this huge desk between the bed and tv. The full length mirror is a down a long hallway from bathroom/ where you would be getting dressed. -the room service comes on these huge heavy trays. The staff seemed like they were straining under the weight of it/ it was awkward. -I'd probably skip the spa/massage -$90/ day parking. Was able to do a spothero for about $40 next door.

So, walking from the Blackbawks shop when it's 20° isn't an easy task. Also, I wasn't able to try the Tre Dita since I didn't book a reservation in advance. Hopefully, I can schedule a reservation in the future. Plus, since it was mid-December, the St Regis had their third annual 12 Days of Sabrage, which guests of honor perform the evening ritual of champagne sabrage, which celebrates the transition from day to night. They offered complimentary toast of champagne and a Vosges Haut-Chocolate truffle. The hotel encouraged everyone to bring a new or lightly used winter clothing for children in need.
