Overall this JW Chicago met my expectations. The location is convenient. There are cool restaurants within walking distance. It's not super close, but decently close enough to Lake Michigan. The rooms were clean, the staff were nice. They were even able to check me in early.

I had a great stay here for 3 nights in early February. This is a great property. Background: I stayed here with a few of my friends checking in on a Thursday for a 3 night stay. We were in town to watch The Warriors-Bulls game. Booked this kind of last minute as we had to cancel our other accommodations. Got a decent rate here as well. Location: Good location down in the Loop. CTA station right across the street. 711 right next store. Many restaurants, bars, and coffee spots close within walking distance. Room: We had a room with two queen beds. It wasn't super luxurious, but it clean and spacious. Definitely did the job. Great water pressure in the shower. Beds were comfortable. The Wifi worked great. Indoor Pool/ Hot Tub: Deal Breaker for me. I love having these amenities when traveling. Nice Pool and Hot Tub here. Took a soak each day to relax. Also they have a full service SPA on-site. Lobby Bar: I didn't partake in any of the restaurants, but I did have drinks each day in the Lobby Bar. The destination fee includes a credit each day , so we used it here. Great Drinks and service from the crew here. Highly Recommend stopping in. Service: Friendly Efficient service from all the staff here. Check-in was quick and easy. Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed my stay here. Everything was great. This place had everything I look for in a hotel. I would definitely stay here again, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Chicago.

JW Marriott is a top notch hotel. Convenient location walking distance to everything including attractions, bars, restaurants and shopping. The rooms is large, luxurious and modern. The beds are comfortable and beddings are high quality. I love the large bathroom. The staff here are the best. The Executive Lounge have plenty of seating, and bright. Had a Sunday breakfast there and the food is delicious. We had a wonderful, weekend experience. Will be back for sure!

An excellent bathroom experience. Really loved how the bathroom stalls go all the way to the floor, something you just can't take for granted especially in America. Definitely would have appreciated some hooks though in the stall, as I had to hang my backpack and coat on the handle, which inevitably unlocked it without my knowledge, whilst someone entered my stall and saw some unmentionables. Which is ironic because this story will definitely be mentioned. The atmosphere was nothing special but considering I had just walked off the street about to explode from some probably undercooked chicken from the night before, beggars certainly can't be choosers. Absolutely my new go to bathroom experience whenever I get the sudden urge in downtown Chicago which weirdly enough happens all of the time.

Overall a comfortable stay. Too bad I did not get to check out the pool or the gym. But had meetings at the conference rooms and the food was great!

Located downtown within walking distance to the Riverwalk as well as other city landmarks, the JW Marriott was a beautiful hotel to stay in Chicago. I'm typically directionally challenged and it was easy for me to get to where I needed to be from this location. I stayed here for a recent work trip and I'll have to say that my room was one of the most spacious rooms that I've ever had the chance of staying in the city! The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was large and expansive. The pillows were firm yet soft and I slept well every night that I was here. They also had turn down service every evening (a little piece of chocolate is always a nice touch at the end of the night!). Bottled water was also restocked daily after housekeeping visited. Staff was friendly upon check-in and at the lobby bar. There's also ample seating across the lobby from benches to chairs to sofas if you're waiting for ground transportation. I'd definitely consider staying here again when I visit Chicago.

The suites here are amazing! The bathtub is the perfect size for me because I love a long and deep bathtub. The executive lounge has really good breakfast and appetizers during happy hour. If you don't want to go out to eat the loo y bar has amazing food! I had a "few" sangrias and the steak fried rice was very satisfying!

Everything from location off blue line to the room was fantastic! When you book, go for executive lounge... totally worth it! Great service and snacks before and after a big day out!

I debated 4 or 5 stars, ultimately 5, for three main reasons. Staff is excellent. The location is great, and the gym is awesome, too. I did have better expectations on the room part. The bathroom is great. The Tv size is on the smaller side compared to other newer locations. But overall, for the rate this hotel has, it is very good value. Good downtown location. Great bar. I will stay here again. Parking seems expensive (but it is like that all over Chicago downtown), and specifically, this one, valet is very quick and helpful. Great weekend overall.

The JW is in a beautiful building in a great location. Upon entering you're impressed by a beautiful and expansive lobby. That's because the JW is located in an historic 1914 Daniel Burnham-designed building which is the former Continental and Commercial Bank. The lobby offers comfortable seating and a large full service bar. Our room was on the Executive Lounge Level which is made available by paying a premium, or when available to higher Marriott membership levels. The room was in excellent condition, nicely appointed with a comfortable bed and beautiful bath. Everything worked correctly in our room, not something that I can often say. The view was limited, not unusual for the heart of downtown Chicago (or New York for that matter), but there was sufficient light from the large windows. The Executive Lounge provides a very nice breakfast each morning, and hors d'oeuvres on most evenings. The food was very good and the lounge was large and comfortable. The elevators have the historical look and feel, lined with dark wood panels and ceiling. They also worked well, we rarely waited for more than 15 seconds to get an elevator. Check-in was fast and professional and the staff was accommodating. They have an expansive fitness room, with plenty of equipment and a small pool, all which is adjacent to their spa, which we did not use on this trip. The only issue, is that all these facilities are in the basement. Windowless fitness rooms, no matter how much equipment offered, are never as inviting when they are in the basement. Also, the fitness room smelled of chlorine from the adjacent pool area. Overall we enjoyed our visit and would be happy to return. 4.5 stars rounded up for their very nice lounge.

We were able to check in super early, at 9am, which was awesome since we had spa services booked and could leave bags in the room. Our room was on the 8th floor and we were told we would have a view. We only had a view of the building across from us. Also, my sister was in crutches and our room was two really long corridors from the elevator. I guess the attendant wasn't thinking and my sister didn't think to request a closer room. Our room was pretty and modern. Beds were comfy and the rooms were quiet. My only wish was that we had more lighting in the bedroom area to see ourselves in mirrors as we dressed. It was pretty dark. It had a super deep kohler tub, which not every hotel offers. However, the plug didn't work so my sister wasn't able to use it. She didn't feel like calling for service because it was already nighttime. The location was perfect for us to get to a close spothero parking space at 400 S Franklin ($17) and to restaurants. We took an Uber to RPM Italian and it was a 12 min, $8 Uber ride. I'd definitely recommend this hotel. It's a great value for what you get!

Are the pools and jacuzzi open this time of year (October)?

They have them indoors but due to Covid they were closed for awhile. That was as of August on my last visit. You're best bet is to call them and ask them to be sure.

    Check in age?

You must be 21 BUT you could do mobile checkin. Once you setup a bonvoy Marriott account (free), you get an email notification approximately 24-48 hours In advance of your date of arrival. Then you go into your bonvoy account and acknowledge the… Read more

How kid friendly is the pool?

Pretty decent as long as kids aren't going wild, throwing things around or putting food in and around the pool. Kids must be attended as no life guard there.

This hotel was located within the loop near the river, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are basic and small. We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago.

I want to say that I have had my eye on this hotel for a while now after looking for Hilton hotel locations with a peloton bike, which this one has. Other than that, I loved that the location of this hotel sits in the heart of Chicago, surrounding a plethora of activities which made it the perfect choice for hotel stay to celebrate. Okay, it was an experience going up to the lobby area to check in at this hotel, a blonde moment as I am known for if you follow my reviews. The lobby is located on the 4th floor, so be sure to choose "L" for the lobby because there is no 4th floor button listed in the elevator. Me and two other hotel guests had an adventure going up to the lobby area after trying to figure out where the 4th floor button was. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and the receptionist giving me my room key. For your information, check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out ends at 12:00 PM! If you have the Hilton honors application, there is the opportunity to check in with the application, choosing your room, and receiving a digital key, which will allow you to go to your room contactless without seeing a receptionist upon your arrival. I have not used this method, but if you are interested in no contact whatsoever then you can use it with the Hilton Honors application. After locating and entering my room, I thought to myself this is fancy once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! There was a variation of vibrant colors in the room from its curtains to the headboard of the king-size bed, the carpet, and a gold chair that looked like something out of your grandmother's house. Out of all, I just could not take my eyes off the curtains which reminded me of cherry blossoms because of the colors. Inside the bathroom there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting my face and body. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, safe, comforter, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, and USB and AC plugins attached to either the headboard of the bed, lamps, or the television cabinet, which added a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn Majestic, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I must say that I was pleased to see several dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, a decent selection of workout machines, and two peloton fitness bikes which charmed me out of my panties once I spotted them. And oh, honey did I enjoy it on my birthday with the lovely Hannah Frankson as my peloton instructor, who put my legs through torture during her low impact workout. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served daily from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM. For you all visiting the city of Chicago, there are plentiful sights, activities, and restaurants within a radius of Hampton Inn Majestic. As a resident, a few that I adore are Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago! Next door is the CIBC Theatre, which I noticed upon my initial arrival at the hotel. And if you are looking to explore the city or outer part of the city, the Chicago Union Station, and CTA Train Station are very accessible to-and-from. I would surely book Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in downtown Chicago. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G

The pool was stunning and we enjoyed swimming, just wish the hot tub was hotter as it was lukewarm. The room was great as well with a Nespresso machine and relaxing tub. Every time we stepped out of the room we would come back to a nice surprise, the room would be cleaned or they would leave the water and ice. Very attentive customer service here. Overall it was nice to live in luxury for the night, highly recommend if you're looking to splurge and relax! Hope I'll be able to stay again someday.

Our view was stunning and I loved I could see downtown and the river from our room. We booked the cinema suite for a cute movie night and I loved that. They had a cute popcorn station with candy and pop, plus you can order room service. The spa was amazing and the facilities were nice.

I've been to Miru many times and finally got to try out the hotel for a staycation…read more Pros: -I loved that they had two restaurant options in the hotel. Both have incredible views but I would definitely recommend having at least one meal on the Miru patio if you are there during nice weather. -I was most surprised by their massive gym and has stunning views. It's also open 24 hours. They offered Pilates classes as well for an extra fee. -the hotel is brand new and all the finishes are so high end. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hallways are huge and felt like a maze to navigate but it also added to feeling of privacy. -there were so many high end details that made it extra special (the cozy Frette bath robes, welcome drinks, treat box in the room upon arrival, and the accent lighting in the room). -the location. It's just across the river from the heart of Michigan ave on the north end of a residential development. You don't feel like you are in the middle of the chaos of the city but the park, lake front and river are footsteps away. Negatives: -view was underwhelming ( fourth floor river view . Might choose the park view next time. I'd also recommend not facing the river as there was lots of honking/noise. -the room layout was awkward. They have this huge desk between the bed and tv. The full length mirror is a down a long hallway from bathroom/ where you would be getting dressed. -the room service comes on these huge heavy trays. The staff seemed like they were straining under the weight of it/ it was awkward. -I'd probably skip the spa/massage -$90/ day parking. Was able to do a spothero for about $40 next door.

So, walking from the Blackbawks shop when it's 20° isn't an easy task. Also, I wasn't able to try the Tre Dita since I didn't book a reservation in advance. Hopefully, I can schedule a reservation in the future. Plus, since it was mid-December, the St Regis had their third annual 12 Days of Sabrage, which guests of honor perform the evening ritual of champagne sabrage, which celebrates the transition from day to night. They offered complimentary toast of champagne and a Vosges Haut-Chocolate truffle. The hotel encouraged everyone to bring a new or lightly used winter clothing for children in need.

I was personally greeted by India when I walked through the revolving door, which is always a great touch. They are super accommodating to my needs, can get me a couple bottles of water, and a late checkout due to my status with Bonvoy. The rooms are still in good condition, (in my opinion) some of the sofas are dated but the most important part when I stay here is the bed. It's not a mushy old mattress, they're great with support and comfort. The hotel is in a great part of River North, close enough to walk to the lake, or the Mag Mile. Even closer are top class restaurants and specialty stores, along with plenty of places for nightlife. Thanks for another great stay here! I'll be leaving for my flight home in a couple hours.
