Truly a 5 star experience at The Langham! I was lucky enough to be gifted a stay and had an incredible time. The hotel is so beautiful, I can see why it's ranked #3 in the nation. If you're able to splurge for club access at $200/person, you'll get to experience stunning city views, breakfast, afternoon tea, snacks, unlimited cocktails, and evening bites. We were also sent a bottle of wine and snacks to our room. I loved that they have a free spa area where you can use the sauna, heated stone loungers, and cold showers. The pool was stunning and we enjoyed swimming, just wish the hot tub was hotter as it was lukewarm. The room was great as well with a Nespresso machine and relaxing tub. Every time we stepped out of the room we would come back to a nice surprise, the room would be cleaned or they would leave the water and ice. Very attentive customer service here. Overall it was nice to live in luxury for the night, highly recommend if you're looking to splurge and relax! Hope I'll be able to stay again someday. read more

The room was amazing and I was very impressed by the birthday set up my wife arranged with the hotel and a third party vendor. Our view was stunning and I loved I could see downtown and the river from our room. We booked the cinema suite for a cute movie night and I loved that. Allergy Friendly Restaurant and Hotel! I have multiple allergies and ate here twice because the Travelle knows how to keep me safe. Sous Chef Nick and Sous Chef Lopez went out of their way to ensure I could eat a safe meal. Both were willing to make me a meal off the menu that would be free of allergens even if it meant calling the chef late at night (11PM) to discuss a meal that would be safe for me. Sous Chef Nick prepared a delicious curry chicken burger. Chef Lopez replicated the recipe since that is what I wanted. In addition, both were willing to heat a new pot of oil for my fries. The food was fantastic. The service was excellent. The rest of my family also enjoyed their meals. Thank you for your help! I stayed here while checking out the Chicago Jazz festival. It is right in the heart of downtown and near many stores and restaurants. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and nicely designed. The jets in the shower was great. It had a combination jet set up. There was also a nice sized tub. There was a workout room, sauna and spa. There was also a bar and restaurant.. This is a great place to stay. I do plan on visiting soon. read more

To call the hotel is well-appointed would be an understatement. The lobby area, the bar, and the accommodations are impressive. I run out of adjectives to describe my wonderful experience here. The cocktail bar serves the very best drinks in the city, hands down. Located in the heart of downtown overlooking the River. It is perfectly located. Despite all the accolades, the prices also match the extravagance. My cocktails was $22, and others on the menu exceeded $30. I am not a rich man, but the Langham made me feel like King for a day. My wife and I are finally reflecting on our stay at The Langham, Chicago, from June 2021, when we got married and spent a few nights there with family. Although we grew up in the Chicago suburbs and know the city well, it was our first time staying at the Langham, and it left a strong impression. The most striking aspect was how spacious the room felt. We likely stayed in a Premier Room, which was quite large by city standards. The bed was massive, very comfortable, and just the right firmness. A detail that stands out is the space between the foot of the bed and the wall where the TV was mounted, which makes the room feel open and calm rather than cramped. The décor was elegant without feeling stuffy, highlighted by thoughtful touches like an espresso machine. The bathroom was another highlight: the frosted-glass window offered privacy while maintaining a sense of connection, and the rain shower had excellent water pressure and felt indulgent. The location is fantastic, convenient for work in the Loop, time in Grant Park, shopping on Michigan Avenue, or dining in River North or Fulton Market. During our trip, we ate nearby both nights, which made getting around easy and stress-free. The staff was warm and helpful throughout our stay, and breakfast at the hotel restaurant was memorable, even if the details are a bit hazy now. Elegant stay with impeccable service, but accessibility could be improved The Langham is a beautiful hotel with top-tier service. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and cared for. The rooms are well-appointed, stylish, and comfortable--everything you'd expect from a luxury property. We enjoyed some delicious cocktails at the bar, and the views from the restaurant were lovely, especially at sunset. A special shoutout to the doormen, who were consistently kind and helpful. My wife uses a mobility scooter, and they went out of their way to assist her--helping with the scooter, holding doors, and making sure she felt supported throughout our stay. That said, the hotel's accessibility features could use improvement. There isn't a truly accessible entrance, which means guests with mobility devices may need assistance just to enter the building. The guest room doors aren't accessible either, which added another layer of difficulty. On a positive note, the roll-in shower was quite good, though the door design could be more functional--something like a farm-style door would make it easier to use. I initially booked with this hotel for a girls weekend. We cancelled due to pricing and they stated they give a free night if you book three nights in a row. After doing the math it's not free it's false advertising. When I called to cancel the female was very rude claimed she couldn't find my reservation and hung up on me. I will never stay anywhere else in Chicago again. This place is the best. The accommodations are beautiful, the location is perfect and the staff is exceptional. Also, there were lots of security precautions during the St Patrick's Day celebrations and always multiple staff at the front doors to assist. You need a keycard to get to the floors with rooms which I also appreciate. There is a Nespresso in the room as well as a fully stocked mini-bar with all sorts of things. They are not cheap so beware. I apparently had a half bottle of Sauvignon Blanc (basically two glasses) for a whopping $85 when I could have walked to Eately and gotten three full size comparable bottles for the same price but hey, I am not shocked. This is a luxury hotel and the prices reflect that. Alex, the concierge is a wizard, full of resources and suggestions, kind and communicative. Toya, who is in charge of turndown, she is the sweetest. The kids and I adore her. She is fun and spunky. Henna, who assisted us before arriving was beyond helpful with every bizarre request I had, concerns, etc. Context: I was coming to Chicago for St Patrick's Day as a single mom with two kids on an extremely busy weekend. read more

While I've stayed at Michelin One Key hotels before, this was my first time staying at a Michelin Two Key hotel. I could definitely tell a difference! While checking in there was nice ambient harp music playing. I thought it was recorded. Nope. Turned around and there was someone sitting there playing the harp. Fancy. Pants. The hotel and room were gorgeous. The rooms are very spacious and have everything you need, a large, glorious bathtub, shower, double sinks with a separate makeup vanity area, closet, robes, slippers, Bose speaker, the fanciest mini bar I've ever seen with the mini fridge stocked, dry snacks stocked and an assortment of nice glass barware for any type of drink you may be having (champagne glasses, wine glasses, rocks glasses), and my favorite, the nicest toiletry products I've ever had in a hotel, Diptyque! There were full sized bottles of Diptyque shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion as well as two bars of Diptyque soap. The service is outstanding. Everyone is very courteous and helpful. Case in point, we brought our own bottle of champagne for NYE and were looking for ice for the ice bucket. An employee saw us in the hall with the bucket and was like, oh no, we get that for you! He quickly returned with our ice. (Btw, I was so surprised when he returned and rang the doorbell! I've never been in a hotel room before with its own doorbell! Luxury is in the details!) When we returned from dinner, we saw that they had come into our room for turndown service. Our robes were out of the closet and hanging in the bathroom. Slippers were by each side of our beds. Glasses and bottles of water were by each side of our beds along with the breakfast menu. They had refilled our ice bucket with fresh ice. And, the biggest surprise, we had a complimentary bottle of champagne and glasses waiting for us as it was NYE! We didn't get to enjoy any of the amenities as we were only in town for one night and their bar and restaurant area was closed for a private NYE event, but I look forward to returning and experiencing more of this hotel's great service and amenities. read more

I had the good fortune of attending a dinner event at the Langham Chicago, and as expected, the food was impeccable. I started with a simple green salad, a large bowl filled with light and crisp greens, tomatoes, radicchio and turnips, very refreshing. Followed by a burrata salad which had a large, plump burrata dumpling over a bed of greens, sweet plums and pickled onions with a few slices of toast. Then a filet of cod - soft and flaky with crispy skin, over a puree with cubes of potato and Brussel sprout leaves. And finished off with a chocolate mousse donut with a small cherry mousse adorned with gold leaf. And a deep cup of coffee. Excellent food, excellent service and a posh setting. We stayed at Langham past weekend. It was very disappointing from the moment we checked in. The front desk was super confused regarding setting up the credit card assigning then to our rooms. Then room service was extremely poor with hidden charges. Ordered glass of milk for a baby in the evening and no one cared to deliver it but they put a charge 30$ for a cup of milk. Ordered room service and they charged 50$ for a table linen l. Really? Ordered chicken fingers and pizza for kids. If you don't want to put white linen then have a plan who will pay 50$ for that? Dined breakfast at pavilion service was so slow and ridiculous. Waited 45 mins to get cereal and milk. Asked several times for a glass of water and when no one showed up I got up and went to the service area to get a glass of water and told them it is so upsetting. The server told me we not sitting idle here with an attitude. I am like really? How pathetic paid 1000$ for a day for this nonsense. I do not recommend this hotel. read more

The Langham is one of my favorite hotels in the city. I was able to spend my birthday week here and upon check-in, we were upgraded to one of the suites. I highly recommend the club access when staying at the Langham. They have a variety of refreshments, snacks and candy to make sure you're satiated all day. Also, the views from the club lounge is absolutely gorgeous. There's a little desk where you can even get some work done while admiring the views. The suite was beautiful and I was pleasantly surprised to see the Diptique amenities. I was even more surprised when the suite had the same views as the club lounge. It made my birthday so much more memorable and the staff was completely amazing! Winnie and Indra were very helpful as well as the entire staff. Just arrived for my first stay at the Langham--a birthday/end of law school spa staycation gifted to me by my husband. I walked from my house in Old Town and knew I'd be hitting the gym later, so I threw on some jeans and a t-shirt. It's humid out there, so I glistened a bit on the way. Big mistake. Got the Pretty Woman once-over from a gentleman at the front desk, who said he "assumed I'm here for work" and asked how many room keys I needed (one, I said--he gave me two). Added to this, I'm sure, was the fact that the room was booked under my husband's credit card. Wonder of wonders, I kept my last name. The first room I was placed in smelled like a cigarette manufacturing plant; Front Desk Once-Over Man was kind enough to move me to a new one without much complaint. Again, I received two room keys. Looks can be deceiving, folks. Would've thought we didn't need to have these discussions since it's not 1957 anymore, but here we are. Bed's pretty comfortable, though. read more

It's a lovely hotel. First class all of the way in decor. Service was fine. We had high tea yesterday and it was **. Pricey at almost $200 per person for 90 minutes. One pot of tea for each person, when asked to try other flavors the answer was no. When asking for additional servings as the small plate was small, the answer was not without additional charges. In all, we were probably offered 8 small bites. We were not expecting a full luncheon, however, we were expecting not to have to go to another restaurant upon leaving for lunch. The hotel and the room are gorgeous beyond expectation, but for some reason every time my husband and I come here (frequent flyers), we have almost a "Hangover" movie experience when we have a couple drinks at the bar.. We wake up the next morning a bit confused. Maybe their drinks are stronger than other places in Chicago? Idk but it is kinda strange. Where do I start... Great service and such impeccable attention to detail. From the outside, you might think "oh just a good old dark brown skyscraper" lol the gem is within! The environment here is a splendid spectacle. Eyes are drawn to the art and designs with lines continually taking you for a luxurious ride. Let it all sink in... The people running this place give it life and the luxury you immediately inherit. They continuously stand by their high standard, and make sure each patron is serviced to that standard. We are very happy with our stay here. I normally never review hotels, mostly only restaurants but this is one of the few that I must. Yes we pay for these services, and we could easily forget that this fine run machine is powered by great people but we don't because of the positive impressions made by so many. Beautiful hotel and accommodations; however, the service is very poor--not 5 star experience at all. Let's start at front desk, upon checking-- I was asked about some type of card I had no knowledge of what was being asked. After a phone call to someone, the clerk said "never mind I see you registered using blah blah blah". Then, let's mention the kitchen or restaurant that does not offer dining in that area for dinner --but instead, dinner (or should I say lunch food during dinner time is served at the hotel's lounge. So, the Travelle Restaurant does not serve dinner in the dining room area. This was a major turn off. The website does not make this clear, in fact it shows that the reserved times are booked. I could have had a nice dinner at another restaurant near the river walk area, instead of a sandwich at the Travelle's lounge area. Additionally, what was suppose to be a nice relaxing birthday weekend --was interrupted with no sleep the first night of my stay because of a barking dog --practically all night. Then, the next morning I woke up to a barking dog at 5am or so; truly annoying! Then there's the concierge guy who will remain nameless --very rude and unable to effectively explain or clarify an add on I purchased when I booked my stay on the hotel's website. Seems there's lot of miscommunication at this establishment; just poor customer service and not aligning to a 5 star experience. At these high end lodging prices, one should not be filled with so much displeasure less than 24 hours of their stay. The Langham Chicago did not uphold the standard I was used to Why? Because I am spoiled and that was what I was expecting since I am paying for the Langham 5star experience! So there, I said it for you Here are the details 1) Check in - given 3 keys - 2 did not work for the room, all 3 failed to access the Club floor (that was part of what we paid for). Had to get new keys 2) Room service - the order was incomplete- had to wait to get the rest of the order 3) Club lounge - I was there for breakfast for 2 mornings . Both mornings I was treated to seeing guests show up in their robes and slippers. This is in spite of a written dress code - no robes ! What the heck?! There was no manager in the lounge and the waitstaff aren't equipped to ask guests to leave . So in Chicago, I would go with Trump (International) read more

We enjoyed to the fullest our stay. Every day we felt and were treated extra, I say that bc each and every staff greeted us, opened the door for us and caught and walked us to the elevators. Julian and Woozie and the bar assistants at Travelle at The Langham, Chicago were very good at what they do. Also Jennifer was excellent at the bar. The food is amazing! OMGeeeee must try the Lobster Roll, the Buffalo chicken sandwich was so tasty and their home made ranch was so bomb. I have a long list of their cocktails bc I tried them all so highly recommend you swing on by and check them out. The pool was heated and indoors, which made swimming fun and convenient. The hot tub was fun too. This review was overdoing bc when we lived in Chicago we did a staycation during Christmas and we had a ball. Beautiful river and city views. The maid went above and beyond with the service as we asked for new sheets and pillow cases e eryday. They were so kind to accommodate us with our requests. The only thing is that I wish they had a coffee machine or espresso machine in the room and I would of been super comfortable. On the day of our departure, Carlos from valet was so sweet and professional. He immediately opened the door for us helped out with our luggage and ran inside to grab us a couple of waters for the road as he knew we were heading back South. I had an opportunity to talk to him while my husband ran back upstairs to get our last luggage. Carlos was very down to earth, response respecting and just a slice of heaven. Beautiful hotel, good service. The staff were really awesome, and they offer car service up to 2 miles or so from the hotel. We came here, because it was my gift to my boyfriend. He's never been to Chicago, and so I thought it would be a good easy trip from Atlanta. The hotel was clean, and there were plenty of elevators. We had a really nice room with a great view of the river and tall buildings. They had turn down service every night, and the first night delivered a balloon and some pink cake for his birthday with a card. How nice! They give you Fiji water in the rooms, which was a nice perk. One drawback was room service, well the food anyway. We ordered six cookies. They were larger cookies, but not super crazy big. Anyway, after tip, it was $44. Yikes! And the cookies weren't even that good. But the hotel had a restaurant that served a really good breakfast. We literally ate there every morning. Just be prepared to spend some coin if you stay here, but I am glad I chose this spot. The location of the hotel was great, too. We were walking distance from the gym, the bike shops, several restaurants, the river...we literally only used the car service when we got lazy, because you do a ton of walking in Chicago. You aren't far from the shopping strip either. The gym in there is NICE. They have Pelotons :) and their spa looked super nice as well. There are so many choices for hotels in the area, but I thought this was a solid place to visit, and can't really say anything negative other than those cookies. Every time I visit Chicago I make it a priority to stay here. The staff are so generous and friendly. They sit down with you, order you a drink, and really listen to your preferences. Everyone knows your name and zodiac sign (haha). The room itself is the epitome of comfort, with warm lighting placed in all the right places. The amazing king sized bed cured my lumbar demons. The soaking tub in the bathroom is angled in a way that makes you slide down if you sit back, but that in no way diminishes the beauty here! Their amenities are very high quality. Everything about this place is comfortable! I usually have great views whenever I come. This is my hometown so I don't bother with location specifics when I visit, but if you're vacationing you'll be happy to know it's situated walking distance to anywhere you want to be. read more

I've stayed at The Langham Hotel in London's West End several times and always loved it. While walking home yesterday after seeing a ballet on Whacker St., my wife and I strolled by Chicago's Langham Hotel; I didn't know we had this hotel here and I guess you could call this an "I gotta know" moment. So, of course, we walked in and I immediately started comparing these two lovely hotels (London vs. Chicago). There are some stark differences between these two lovely hotels but both were really beautiful. London's has this old established Five Star hotel (circa 1865) vibe to it with more history and legends than an encyclopedia. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle set the Sherlock Holmes stories A Scandal in Bohemia and The Sign of Four partly at the London Langham. Chicago's version of the wonderful brand is this chic, modern, swanky building with all of the drippings of any upscale hotel. Both places are a study in 'How To Do Things Right". After entering the revolving door here in Chicago we were greeted by a concierge who led us to the second floor bar overlooking the Chicago River. Our table had this magnificent view of Chicago's famous architecture and the beautiful bridges this River is known for. Everyone worker here are trained (Langham Style) on how to treat there guests. We both ordered a drink and some bar food which was (of course) really good. The quietness of this place was relaxing as much as it was serene and cozy. We only live a few blocks away and I'm sure we will make this location our "Go-To" bar for guests coming to town or just a nice place for us to enjoy. read more
