Beautiful repurposed historical building with a striking art deco lobby . Pet friendly but they don't have a designated pet area . River walk is only a block away though . The doormen / doorwomen were the nicest and most helpful people I've met . Reception was helpful and they serve the best lemonade drink with an option to spike it at the bar. The room was beautiful and comfy . We did room service and the food was okay but came hot and beautifully served . The valet is $80 per night which is expensive but I guess that's the price you pay for convenience and location . Overall this was a great experience. We stayed for an important anniversary and would stay here again if we have the opportunity

Loved staying at the Pendry Chicago! The location is unbeatable and makes walking to a lot of things super doable. The building itself is beautiful, and love the history and inspiration behind the architecture. The room we had was spacious and very clean. It had a steamer rather than an iron which I absolutely love. They staff was also so incredibly welcoming and friendly. The only issue we had was having a bit of difficulty catching an elevator during busier times of day, which is standard I think is large busy hotels. I would definitely recommend staying here and would certainly stay again!

I recently enjoyed a great birthday winter weekend at The Pendry hotel. Knowing the weather in February we wanted an excellent location with short walkable attractions. We also wanted to ability to "stay in" and feel transported. The Pendry provided all this in droves. Muriel checked us in and gave us the royal birthday treatment. Sweet treats, corner upgrade, and early check in set the tone for a great stay. Staff was notably helpful and friendly. Dolapo the doorman and Nike the private driver truly stood apart as excellence in action. The room service breakfast was a nice option, but we recommend going down to the cafe instead. The ambiance and delicious food and drinks make for a great start to the day. The Venteux Brasserie had good not great food with some struggles in service. But ambiance and happy hour were stellar. The steak frites had tough meat, but the filet and fruit de mer were very good. Negroni on point. Rooftop and Bar Pendry also provided cozy relaxation options. Short walk to many restaurants and museums.

Chicken noodle soup, washed down with some Vueve - A black bowl filled with soup containing small pasta, diced carrots, and herbs is set on a white plate on a dark table. In the background, there is a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne, along with a tray holding condiments, a bowl of salad, and a napkin with utensils. The setting appears to be a restaurant or dining area.

As you know, The Doctor and I do quite a few staycations in Chicago. The Pendry was the latest on the list and it did not disappoint at all. This was by far one of the most enjoyable staycations we have experience and The Pendry will be at the top of our list to stay at. Upon our arrival, our Uber driver had to park across the street from the hotel due to the fact that two very large tour buses were parked out front. The Doctor and I didn't think too much about it as we figured we would just go to the light and cross the street. However as soon as our bags left the vehicle and hit the ground, there was a gentleman with dreadlocks crossing the street to get our bags, stopping traffic to make sure we made it across safely. The reason I am mentioning the dreadlocks is because we did not get his name, but he was so wonderful the entire weekend we interacted with him. He got our bags on a luggage rack, got us water and took The Doctor up to the reception area. If I had I had to point out a con, it would be that our room was not ready when we got there. That said, I was not mad about it as it was about 15 mins later when everything was ready. The reason I was not upset was because the young woman behind the desk stated that our room was cleaned, but it was going through a final "inspection" before it could be released. I completely appreciated hearing that, and while we waited there was this lovely lemony drink you could pour and take to the the bar to have a shot put into it if you said the secret password, which was "Bob" for that day. The Captain of the Bell-people (Perry) took us to our room, giving us a breakdown of the different restaurants (in and outside of the hotel) that we could dine at. Once we got to the room, he pointed out all of the amenities in the room and explained that we could use the fridge (which was stocked with drinks and some high end adult beverages). Perry pointed out that the bottle water was complimentary would be replaced on a daily basis, which is very nice as a lot of hotels charge for bottled water now. He even told us what his schedule would be for the weekend in case we needed to reach him personally. The suite itself was very spacious, with two separate bathrooms, a TV in the main living space as well as the bedroom. They had Netflix as well as free HBO Max, as well as other streaming platforms for music, etc. The wet bar area on top has a very nice selection of hard liquors, snacks, complimentary coffees, as well as a charger. What I really loved about our suite was the fact that there was off white carpet everywhere (except the bathroom) and it was spotless. I am use to seeing some wear and tear at hotels. We treat spaces as if they are ours, but realize others might not, so I was very surprised not to see any stains on the furniture or carpet. The furniture was in good condition, the leather chairs/ottomans showed no signs of tears. The big selling point for me was the fact that we got a text every day asking what time housekeeping should stop by our room to clean it. We have never experienced that before and it was nice because usually we don't do housekeeping as it we never know when they are coming, so this was amazing. And when I say they clean, they clean! And put everything in its proper place. Some of the items on the bar were moved around because we were looking at them, and just put them back. The housekeeping staff not only put everything back the way it was originally placed, they also arranged the items we each had on the counters in our bathroom to a showroom level...crazy and lovely. Keep in mind if you are looking for a "quiet" hotel, this is not it. While we had no complaints about folks in the rooms next to us, this hotel is in a heavy traffic area in Chicago and on the river. So there will street sounds and at night the sounds of people racing their Speed Racer cars and bikes, which I do not mind, All in all, the staff were all lovely and eager to help and quite pleasant to speak to. This was one of the first times we have done room service and the gentleman who brought up our food was great, placing our food on the table, then asking us if it was ok if he removed the covers. I ordered a Wagyu burger, but forgot to ask for mustard, The Doctor called room service and the gentleman who had brought up our food was back up in flash with a small jar of mustard. The burger was really good BTW as were the lemon pepper wings and The chicken noodle soup The Doctor got. All in all, this was a first rate staycation for us and we had so much fun staying at The Pendry. We are planning on going back in November if we can get in, and if not, we will wait.

The image shows a hotel lobby with a mix of leather and fabric seating, wooden wall paneling, and a fireplace with artwork above it. There are lamps and plants providing decor, and the space appears spacious and well-lit, with a bar area visible in the background.

I'd been wanting to check out Pendry hotels and was thrilled to finally be able to do so in Chicago. I've been to Pendry bars before, which I love, so I knew I would like the hotel. And I did. All of the staff was friendly and welcoming, especially the doormen, which I appreciate. Except for whoever stole my clothes from my room, which I did not appreciate. It was fairly jarring to come back from exploring the city to find that things had been stolen. I'm glad I travel with a door jammer/alarm, which I use, because who knows what could have happened. Aside from the in-room theft, I had a great time here. The rooms are big, with comfy beds and a wonderful bathroom. The shower is nice, albeit poorly designed (you need to enter from the side with the showerhead if you leave the bathroom door open). Carpeting needs to be redone. I loved the minibar options, even though I did not partake. Aside from the bathroom vent, everything was extremely clean. Other reviewers mention the noise, which is true during the day, but I was on a low floor and at night, it didn't bother me. The lobby is well-appointed, as is the bar area. Obviously, I wouldn't stay here again, which is too bad, since it is a nice hotel.

Chris, door girl - A young hotel staff member with short dark hair, wearing a black uniform, stands in the lobby of a luxury hotel. The background features a large floral arrangement on a marble table, with natural light coming through the windows and a glass door leading outside. The lobby has marble flooring and decorative curtains, indicating an upscale setting.

YE-Outstanding! Lovely Hotel , Pendry is the home away from home . Very inviting atmosphere, very professional staff all around. Pro's : *. Doormen/ ladies very courteous on point, greeted w/ smiles, politeness & helpful *. All staff goes beyond the call of duty *. Front desk, problem solvers; no stress *. If possible, early ck-in & late ck-out. *. Rooms & Hotel immensely clean areas *. Inviting & friendly bar staff *. Numerous Lounges to have fun *. Breakfast room service, so sleep late. *. State of the art, 24/7 gym room/ equipment w/ Hyperiice *. Request a small fridge if ur on medication for storage; No Worries. *. Lounge bar has moist cheeseburgers Omg; sooooo tasty *. Rooms r a nice size & Quiet *. Pendry, is near to many restaurants & shops ie., Nordstoms, Saks on the 5th, Coach, Zara, Uni-glo, Macys, & a Mall, Walgreens & Walmart etc. Ohh take Metro to old Chinatown on Redline twds 95th / Ryan exit train Cermack/ Chinatown stop Front Desk staff Hannah S, & Taylor really made my stay enjoyable. Ohh, I can't forget female door girl: Chris so helpful. Upon, arrival there was mishap w/ my room & a computer cliche, but Hannah S & Chris was on it to keep me relaxed, reassuring & they never abandoned me. Very attentive to my needs. Hannah, even got me checked in early after long travels . Later, to my surprise Hannah sent a gift to my room. It reset, my bad day & the next day I was bk to normal & ready to spend money. Chicago is a clean & beautiful city. I'd recommend the Pendry, in a heartbeat bc the staff makes taking care of its customers a breeze. Actually, other hotels can take notes from Pendry. Unfortunately, the Cons: *. Ladies Restrooms, near bar lounge stall latches don't lock, so anyone can push door open on u. *. In rooms on my line ending in ..02 the closet door needs a Magnet to close door properly bc it stays ajar, a bit annoying. *. Closet mirrors need screw covers bc it snagged my new sweater. I came in for The St. Patrick's Day weekend so hotel was busy non-stop. The tenacity of the staff was top tier. I strongly, recommend this hotel. I'll ask Yelp to put Pendry in high regards. I will put in a good word. Enjoy & Thank me, later. U won't regret it!

I will say the hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, the staff was very friendly and kind. There was a bar attached to the hotel and a rooftop bar which I didn't get a chance to go to. There js also a cute cafe and restaurant attached as well. The first night you arrive they give you a complimentary beverage which was a yummy jasmine green tea mixture and they allow you to go to the bar to spike it with a secret password which I thought was very cute and fun! I had a chance to go to the bar and the cafe - both had amazing drinks and the breakfast food at the cafe was delicious. There was room service which I was excited about but I was shocked to see there was a $7 delivery fee for the room service. The hotel in itself was already very expensive so I did not expect I would have to pay for room service. When I received my checkout bill I was also charged for amenities - which I did not even use not knew about- I think that should not be an additional charge but just part of the price you are paying for the room. I ordered an avocado toast, and 2 espressos and with room service and tip that was $50. To me that is outrageous Overall I loved the atmosphere and the kind staff and the attached bar and restaurant options, but I will say I was surprised to be charged so much upon leaving considering how pricey everything already is inside the hotel.

The hotel lobby showcases marble walls with decorative lighting fixtures, large potted plants on either side of the entrance, and a red patterned rug on the floor. The glass doors allow natural light to illuminate the space, revealing a city street outside. The ceiling has a detailed design with lighting, and an exit sign is visible at the top of the image.

Can't believe this hotel is part of fine hotels and resorts... it's a failed attempt at luxury. As you check you'll be graciously showered by condensate from A/C. The rooms generally small, well appointed but poorly lit. The lobby is nice well thought out, I would say from a design perspective the common areas are tasteful and the complimentary coffee is just what you need in the morning. My room didn't have a desk and the sound proofing was borderline terrible. The service was uninspiring but the location is central. Would stay again? Perhaps. This time as my first experience at a Pendry and it feels like a place I'd rather grab drinks at than spend the night. The amenity fee also feels predatory because it doesn't get you anything.

Another flawless stay at Pendry Chicago. This was our second time staying at the Pendry and once again, it exceeded expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely taken care of. The gentlemen at the door are next level helpful--genuinely some of the best I've encountered at any hotel. They go out of their way to make things easy and always seem one step ahead of what you might need. Our suite was spacious, spotless, and so comfortable. The bathrooms were especially lovely--clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Everything felt calm and luxurious. A huge shoutout to Michael and Sierra, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and warm. Their kindness and attentiveness truly stood out. I also have to mention the incredible room service team, who kindly brought up warm milk for our toddler and even delivered a microwave to make things easier for us. Their patience and genuine thoughtfulness meant so much to us as parents traveling with a little one. We've now stayed at the Pendry twice, and it's safe to say it's become our go-to hotel in Chicago. Can't wait to return.

A Christmas tree decorated with gold and silver ornaments, lights, and a large bow on top is situated in a hotel lobby. The lobby features seating with cushions, a patterned carpet, and large windows with curtains, allowing natural light to enter. The scene suggests a festive holiday setting within a modern hotel interior.

We stayed here for 4 nights over Christmas and had a really nice time. The hotel is in a lovely and historic building and the renovation has been done to a very high level. The location is also perfect for exploring Chicago! We arrived at 4pm and our room was ready. As we had booked through Amex FHR we got a number of benefits, including an upgrade (which was honored). We ended up being upgraded to a Tower Room, which was a great size and perfect for a 4 night stay. The room was well equipped (there was a robe which I LOVE in a hotel) and the shower was great. The thing I would note though is that the AC was not working (I understand this is turned off for the winter) so if you like sleeping in a cold room, which we do, you are going to be out of luck in the winter months. We had a credit of $60 for breakfast everyday and we took advantage of this. There is a wide selection available at the on-site restaurant and the service is quick, although this does get busy and sometimes there may be a wait for the table. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at Pendry and would be happy to return in the future.

View from the Pendry Suite - The image captures a high-angle view of downtown Chicago, featuring tall modern skyscrapers and historic buildings along the Chicago River. Several bridges cross the river, and boats are visible on the water. The scene is set on a clear day with blue skies, highlighting the urban landscape and architectural diversity of Chicago's Loop area.

We hosted an international reunion for 30 and Nycole was outstanding in helping us through the process. The Pendry Suite is not to missed. The view, the privacy all top tier. Their meeting space is open and bright with loads of windows. They are ideally located near the Riverwalk and all of the best of downtown Chicago. Don't hesitate to contact Nycole for your next event.

    Lovely lunch!

The week before Xmas, came here for a work meeting and what a lovely experience it was. Right when you walk in, everyone is so kind and accommodating - genuinely. Food was fantastic, and no matter what came up, the staff was game to help figure out what was possible. Great experience!

So we sat there watching dozens of people get metal detected before going to the rooftop. So we were LATE to where we needed to go. Ordered $100 of room service. It was LATE so I called to cancel. Lady on the phone was rude, told me no and hung up on me mid sentence. I wasn't able to eat my share because well, it was LATE. Wife said her food simply wasn't good regardless. Something as simple as butter and jelly for the toast wasn't provided. Arrived back between meetings. Stood out front and in the lobby for over 15 minutes to try and give my keys to the valet attendant. No one was anywhere to be found. Wouldn't answer calls from the front desk. They finally took my keys then some dude chased me down saying they can't keep them and I have to keep waiting. Oh this made me LATE to my next meeting. $89 a day for poor performance was not worth it. I would 100% suggest parking yourself or a block over at London house. They always have 4+ attendants. Help with luggage and doors etc. oh and it's CHEAPER. We appreciated the room upgrade. The room itself was okay. It wouldn't get below 71 degrees and got upwards of 76 degrees during the day. Even with the shades closed. For as much as we spent, I would expect a lot more. Rooms were fine, but the service, in all aspects was not.

While searching hilton.com for a hotel to stay at on the day of my birthday, Hampton Inn Majestic…read moreChicago Theatre District was the first to pop-up within Chicago. I want to say that I have had my eye on this hotel for a while now after looking for Hilton hotel locations with a peloton bike, which this one has. Other than that, I loved that the location of this hotel sits in the heart of Chicago, surrounding a plethora of activities which made it the perfect choice for hotel stay to celebrate. Okay, it was an experience going up to the lobby area to check in at this hotel, a blonde moment as I am known for if you follow my reviews. The lobby is located on the 4th floor, so be sure to choose "L" for the lobby because there is no 4th floor button listed in the elevator. Me and two other hotel guests had an adventure going up to the lobby area after trying to figure out where the 4th floor button was. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and the receptionist giving me my room key. For your information, check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out ends at 12:00 PM! If you have the Hilton honors application, there is the opportunity to check in with the application, choosing your room, and receiving a digital key, which will allow you to go to your room contactless without seeing a receptionist upon your arrival. I have not used this method, but if you are interested in no contact whatsoever then you can use it with the Hilton Honors application. After locating and entering my room, I thought to myself this is fancy once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! There was a variation of vibrant colors in the room from its curtains to the headboard of the king-size bed, the carpet, and a gold chair that looked like something out of your grandmother's house. Out of all, I just could not take my eyes off the curtains which reminded me of cherry blossoms because of the colors. Inside the bathroom there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting my face and body. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, safe, comforter, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, and USB and AC plugins attached to either the headboard of the bed, lamps, or the television cabinet, which added a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn Majestic, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I must say that I was pleased to see several dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, a decent selection of workout machines, and two peloton fitness bikes which charmed me out of my panties once I spotted them. And oh, honey did I enjoy it on my birthday with the lovely Hannah Frankson as my peloton instructor, who put my legs through torture during her low impact workout. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served daily from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM. For you all visiting the city of Chicago, there are plentiful sights, activities, and restaurants within a radius of Hampton Inn Majestic. As a resident, a few that I adore are Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago! Next door is the CIBC Theatre, which I noticed upon my initial arrival at the hotel. And if you are looking to explore the city or outer part of the city, the Chicago Union Station, and CTA Train Station are very accessible to-and-from. I would surely book Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in downtown Chicago. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G

Then the day before, I was able to select my room via the app. Even though the main entrance is on the ground floor, guests will need to an elevator to the second floor to check in. The reception floor is well planned out even though it's compact. By that I mean, as soon as you step out of the elevator, the reception desk is right there with a seating area. The breakfast area is towards the back room. Checking in was very painless. I made it to my room on a higher floor. For a downtown Hampton Inn, the room was quite spacious. Of course, the bed was very comfortable. The next morning, I went to the breakfast area which offered the typical Hampton Inn breakfast. There were plenty of seating available, at least on the day I was there. I imagine on the weekend, it can be quite hectic. Overall, a great stay at the Hampton Inn and great location for the theater distract.

Shout-out to Nia at the front desk, who was the first person I encountered when I walked in. Her energy was exactly what you want as a guest--warm, welcoming, and professional. I've spent most of my career in hospitality, so I naturally pay attention to the level of service being provided, and she absolutely set the tone for a great stay. Kudos to her and to the team that hired her. My room was beautiful. Nia also let me know I had been upgraded due to my Marriott loyalty, which was very much appreciated. I stayed in a king room, and the moment I walked in, I honestly considered extending my stay another night. The space had a sleek, modern look, everything was clean, and the lighting gave it a stylish city vibe. I ordered room service shortly after arriving and got a burger with fries (which I believe were Parmesan fries ). Everything was very good, and the room service attendant Lorena was just as kind and pleasant. Even though I was only there for one night, the experience was great from start to finish. The bed was comfortable, the linens were fresh, and the location is incredibly convenient--close to everything, which I always appreciate when traveling. I will definitely look to stay here again the next time I'm in Chicago and hope to have the same wonderful experience.

Clean lines, moody lighting, and that subtle blend of science-meets-art that somehow feels both curated and effortless. The art isn't decorative filler; it's intentional. The whole property has that boutique confidence: not loud, not trendy-for-the-sake-of-trendy...just precise. The aesthetic walks a tightrope between laboratory chic and soulful design, and it doesn't fall. The restaurant deserves its own paragraph. The olive cake alone should have a publicist. The food is thoughtful, layered, and memorable without being pretentious. It feels like someone actually tasted everything before approving the menu; which, these days, is not a given. Location? Ideal. Walkable, central, easy. The gym? Surprisingly solid. Not the sad afterthought treadmill situation. An actual usable space. But here's the thing. Beautiful rooms fade. Art becomes background. Even olive cake, tragically, gets finished. What stays is service. And Nia. Nia is the reason my long stay didn't feel like a stay. It felt like being known. Her smile isn't transactional. Her care isn't performative. The attention to detail is quiet and precise. She remembered my name everyday and I was there for a while. Makes you think, "Oh, someone is actually paying attention." There's a difference between service and hospitality. Nia understands the difference. That's what brings you back.

Although we grew up in the Chicago suburbs and know the city well, it was our first time staying at the Langham, and it left a strong impression. The most striking aspect was how spacious the room felt. We likely stayed in a Premier Room, which was quite large by city standards. The bed was massive, very comfortable, and just the right firmness. A detail that stands out is the space between the foot of the bed and the wall where the TV was mounted, which makes the room feel open and calm rather than cramped. The décor was elegant without feeling stuffy, highlighted by thoughtful touches like an espresso machine. The bathroom was another highlight: the frosted-glass window offered privacy while maintaining a sense of connection, and the rain shower had excellent water pressure and felt indulgent. The location is fantastic, convenient for work in the Loop, time in Grant Park, shopping on Michigan Avenue, or dining in River North or Fulton Market. During our trip, we ate nearby both nights, which made getting around easy and stress-free. The staff was warm and helpful throughout our stay, and breakfast at the hotel restaurant was memorable, even if the details are a bit hazy now. The lobby is beautiful, and several family members who stayed with us also commented on how much they enjoyed the hotel. At the time, pricing felt mid-range for a luxury hotel in Chicago, offering excellent value. It was summer, likely a less expensive time to visit, but even so, considering the room size, comfort, service, and location, it seemed like money well spent year-round. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We would happily return and are eager to explore other Langham properties worldwide.

Everything was great until I checked out and discovered that I had been charged $88 per night for parking. That was quite unexpected. I had been in Chicago just a few months earlier and had paid $55 at the L7 Hotel. So I was shocked that the JW could charge so much. How is their valet parking better than the valet parking at the L7? I realize now that had I been traveling alone, and not with my family, it would have been cheaper to fly to Chicago, than drive the 4.5 hours from Ohio. Apparently the hospitality industry hasn't caught on to the current affordability crisis, or at least Marriott hasn't.

I saw friends in the bar area, so I took root at the table nearby. Service was fine, and I enjoyed a few of the Amber bee on draft. The menu looked good, and I ended up with a steak fried rice bowl. The steak was gross. It didn't even look like steak that should be served. It was fatty and tasteless. I ate less than 1/2 the rice and 1/3 of the steak. I wasn't starving, so it wasn't a huge deal, but those who told me to avoid the bar area for food were right.

Both have incredible views but I would definitely recommend having at least one meal on the Miru patio if you are there during nice weather. -I was most surprised by their massive gym and has stunning views. It's also open 24 hours. They offered Pilates classes as well for an extra fee. -the hotel is brand new and all the finishes are so high end. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hallways are huge and felt like a maze to navigate but it also added to feeling of privacy. -there were so many high end details that made it extra special (the cozy Frette bath robes, welcome drinks, treat box in the room upon arrival, and the accent lighting in the room). -the location. It's just across the river from the heart of Michigan ave on the north end of a residential development. You don't feel like you are in the middle of the chaos of the city but the park, lake front and river are footsteps away. Negatives: -view was underwhelming ( fourth floor river view . The full length mirror is a down a long hallway from bathroom/ where you would be getting dressed. -the room service comes on these huge heavy trays. The staff seemed like they were straining under the weight of it/ it was awkward. -I'd probably skip the spa/massage -$90/ day parking. Was able to do a spothero for about $40 next door.
