Large combination pho
Alice W.

They have their own parking lot, so parking is easy. The interior is cozy, has carpet and plenty of seating, but felt a bit cluttered with lots of boxes and random stuff on some of the tables to the left and center areas. The price of pho is lower than most restaurants and the food portions are generous. The menu is very extensive and offers both Vietnamese and Chinese food. Ordered the following: Large combination pho - huge bowl of pho, could feed 2 people, broth was standard, noodles were slightly over cooked, and the cuts of beef could be fresher Lunch special with Mongolian beef and noodles - the sauce the beef was cooked in was tasty, the beef was very tough, the noodles tasted good with lots of veggies. I might come back to try other items but would go elsewhere for pho.

#25 - LARGE because I love soup

This is our favorite local spot for a quick bowl of pho or a vermicelli bowl. The food is amazing, the ambiance is relaxed and it often feels like the customers have a longstanding relationship with the owners. So yeah, food is awesome, service is great, and prices are fair.

The food is so tasty. My favorite vermicelli bowl with lemon grass beef and an egg roll. My partner loves the pho. If you get the large make sure you're hungry, it is no joke. The menu is really big so there is something for every one. The food comes very quickly. You can tell it's family run and a neighborhood favorite from the way they chat with the regulars. The place has a homey feel that is low key and comfortable.

Pho Dac Biet, $12.95 – 5 Stars. Combo pho with everything

Thien Phat is about 5 to 7 minutes south of International District on Rainier Ave S. While I normally go to CID or Little Saigon, I detoured to Thien Phat instead because they have been suffering from break-ins, thefts, and all-around criminal insanity. Since the pandemic, they fell behind on rent and is on the verge of closure after 13 years in business. Their loyal customer base is campaigning for them, and a go-fund-me is open. Vanishing Seattle, "Find Me in Seattle", and NW Asian Weekly have written/posted about them, but progress remains slow. On the day we went (9/17), we drove up to see both their front doors had smashed glass, despite having bars on their doors and windows. From their security cameras, a SUV backed into their doors then used chains to pull the bars/doors open. The only things taken are change, the tip jar, and change for leukemia fund. Sigh. I felt safe when I was there. These petty crimes are more about the cash than intent to harm. They unfortunately leave damages that cause thousands of dollars to fix each time. Seattle, do better for these small businesses! Oanh is the face of the restaurant, and the daughter of the cook. Opening the restaurant is the mom's dream. Oanh is a bubbly and kind server/proprietor. As we dine, we overheard other customers inquiring about their situation. Oanh continues to put on a brave face and that they'll keep the restaurant open for as long as they can. All my friends who live in the area commented that they love this place. So there you have it, give them a try, help them out if you can, find them on gofundme. Parking is easy. They have their own lot. The interior is simple. Staff is minimal during dinner hours as they tend to be busier for lunch. The food came out quickly! The cost is very reasonable, competitive to ID, and much, much lower than the Eastside. The Food: Pho Dac Biet, $12.95 - 5 Stars This is the combo pho with everything. Flavorful broth, lots of protein, fresh meats. No complaints. Mi Dac Biet, $13.95 - 5 Stars This is the egg noodle soup with shrimps, fish balls, and squid. Normally there is pork and ground pork but I asked to skip those. It is huge! I couldn't finish it. The chew of the noodles and the broth are both very good. Goi Cuon Tom, $6.95 - 4.5 Stars Shrimp spring (or fresh) rolls. Well stuffed rolls that filled me up, so I couldn't finish my noodles. Hahaha. Take home dishes (The photos look duller after a long drive): Com Tam Thien Phat, $14.95 - 4.5 Stars Menu: Broken rice with short ribs, shredded pork skin, egg cake, shrimps on a skewer, sunny side up egg An excellent and filling combo dish. It tasted good even after re-heating two days later. I cooked a side of veggies to complement, and this rice dish became two meals. Mi Xao - 2 orders, 1 with beef, 1 with shrimp, $13.95 to $14.95 - 3.5 Stars Menu: Stir fried yakisoba/thin egg noodle with choice of protein and veggies These two noodle dishes weren't as good as the other dishes. The egg noodle is the soft chow mein noodle. I thought it was the type in the noodle soup, which is skinnier and have a better chew. Both dishes didn't have a distinctive flavor. I added seasoning to both when I reheated and re-stir-fried. The portion is excellent though. Side note: Friends suggested their fish sauce wings and lemongrass beef banh mi.

Went on a Friday night and got a seat in the large dining area. Lots of people were coming for take out too. Service was pleasant and helped us to decide on entrees from their large menu. There were over 100 choices to choose from and we went with pho/noodles bowls.

Pho w rare steak, brisket, and meatballs

A comforting Asian restaurant w/ a family and local vibe. The food here is excellent and the atmosphere is always welcoming and warm. The lemongrass beef banh mi w/ egg is my favorite in Seattle. My favorite used to be Saigon Deli for years but this one takes the cake. The oxtail pho is fantastic, as is their crab soup w/ udon noodles. Pretty much all of their soup noodle dishes are fantastic. Also highly recommend a hot vietnamese coffee to end the meal.

I ordered pho to go from here while I was in the area. The lady working was nice and recommended heating up the soup when I got home to have the best experience. When I got home, I was pleased to find the food was packaged well and it seemed like a pretty large portion. I was, however, disappointed by the broth. The broth was clear but lacking in flavor. The broth can really make or break a bowl of pho, so I don't know if I'll be returning here.

Not too bad . Food wasn't crazy special but good. I always go to Rainer teriyaki and try this spot here and there.

My cocktail was a pho broth washed shot of Jameson and it came with a pho broth chaser. Hope I got that right but I almost don't wanna drink Jameson any other way now. The parking lot was packed but there's a paid parking lot around corner so no problem. It looked packed but I think a lot of people were at the larger pho Bac sup shop (which is associated w The Boat, but The Boat had plenty of seating at 6:30 on a Sunday night. I think what I appreciated most was the service- we had a person who seated us and answered questions about the menu- my partner has some preferences and shared them with the first server but then the second server came by and already knew what my partner had shared with the first server. That's real dedication. Definitely coming back.

Genuinely surprised that I would enjoy this place so much because I came here thinking, "well this…read moreis just rice and chicken, so what could make this place so special?" I was left with a pleasant surprise and understanding of the hype of this place, because the chicken was so crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I got "com ga" which translates to "chicken and rice." This place only really serves like three dish on their menu, with a rotating choice of base from noodles to rice. The place is right next to their sister location, Pho bar, and share a parking space. It is nice and clean on the inside, and like the name the restaurant is shape like a boat! So far I have been here twice and would definitely come back for a warm meal. The staff were helpful and pleasant! It was roughly a 30 minute wait for the food, but that is to be expected considering this is not a fast-food Restaurant (:

A great variety of viet dishes you may not be able to find elsewhere!…read more My partner and I chose this place because we were craving soup to help with the cold. We ended up choosing a place close and were not disappointed at all. This restaurant is located off a busy street but it luckily offers a parking lot which can be hard to come by in Seattle. Because we came on the earlier side, we were seated quite quickly :) The space is pretty large so I don't think I would worry about a wait on a weekday. We were very impressed by the options provided. I usually don't find Bun Bo Hue on the menu often which is what my partner ended up ordering. I ordered the Bun rieu which is even harder to come by. We also ordered the crispy butter garlic wings to share which was a perfect choice. The service was very fast and we were pleasantly surprised at how quickly our stuff came out after placing our order. The portions were also HUGE and we both had enough to take home for a second meal. The Bun rieu was super tomatoey and had a rich flavor which the crab. My mom makes Bun rieu at home and I was very much happy with this bowl too, reminded me a lot of how my mom makes it! The Bun Bo Hue was not super spicy but we appreciated being able to customize. The garlic wings were SOOOO good. So crispy and seasoned so well, we would 100% get these again they were so good. We left very full, warm, and satisfied with this pick. We likely will be back in the near future!

Incredible restaurant (and a fantastic happy hour). Unlike a lot of hybrid renditions of Asian…read morerestaurants, everything here feels thoughtful, intentional and is truly delicious. The custard duck egg is an excellent starter, with a rich, savory broth that delivers a deep, yolky umami punch. The rau ram oil and herb is such a creative twist that adds the perfect herbal dimension. The radicchio pudding was light and offered a clean, almost grassy brightness without being overwhelming in flavors. Great option for any vegans at the table. The wagyu beef tallow fries were some of the best fries I've ever had. Ultra-crispy, perfectly thick-cut, and deeply flavorful with beef notes shining through, without being too heavy. Like many of the dishes here, perfectly balanced in flavor. The grilled eggplant with whipped tofu and crispy sun chokes was another standout. The tofu whip was so smooth and should be considered a worthy sub for mayo. The eggplant was soft, creamy, and perfectly charred. The garlic rice was incredibly savory and maybe my favorite version of it yet. Packed with the perfect depth of garlicky flavor and seasoning. Finally for dessert - I thought the durian fruit cup was decent, it's great for durian lovers but next time I will be back to try their other desserts. The hollow bread is a must-try. It's fried to perfection, the inside is steamy and the butter it comes with is perfect but the bread alone is so good that it doesn't need it. The perfect touch of roasted sesame. Slightly sweet, it's a delight in textures and perfect in cold weather. The oyster on half shell in happy hour is also a great standard oyster, very fresh, with a nuanced Viet twist in the sauces. Vegetable dip is pretty standard and also delicious, great if you're looking for a healthy starter. Coffee rubbed ribs were fantastic as well and an incredible deal for the size. Very savory, a little sticky sweet, but not too much. Service was also friendly and the food came out in a reasonable time. One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle, and had fun chatting with regulars next to our table too.

Went during brunch time…read more Favorite dish was the Salmon Croque Madam. It was a banh mi sandwich with salmon flakes(?) topped off with an egg with a side of arugula. Easy to eat and flavorful on its own but dipping it with Chinsu added spice and more flavor. Bot Chien had a crisp to it and egg was cooked well. You have to dip it in the fish sauce or else there is no flavor. Just something minor but I wish the pickled veggies were more separated. It had the cut lines but not fully cut so you had to separate it yourself. The com tam was alright. All of the components you would usually get for a broken rice dish. The meatloaf was really good. The pork on the other hand was a bit too salty for my liking. And you only get one thin piece... soup on the side was good and was a good way to cleanse the palette. Overall good modern/fancy spin on Vietnamese food but overpriced. Would probably be nice to go during dinner time for some drinks as the ambience seemed better for night time. Good amount of seating. Street parking around the area was easy to find.
