I came for the combo banh mi, as I heard this was one of the best spots for it. While the banh mi was good, it definitely wasn't one of the best I've had. I was looking for spring rolls and they didn't have it on display but when I asked, they had it hidden for some reason. They are pricier than the deli in the same complex but it had higher quality and bigger.instead of regular noodles, they use thinner noodles, they also have the eggroll wrappers in it as well. I was a little dubious but when i took a bite, it was really good. Refreshing. It satisfy my cravings for sure. The place is a little cramped for dine in but it's possible. Have been eyeing Nissi Banh ever since they put their sign up in King Plaza. They sell mostly banh mi, Vietnamese juices, and other assortments of Vietnamese foods. I ended up ordering the cold cut banh mi and the grilled pork banh mi. Both were satisfying to eat, but I think the grilled pork was much better than their cold cut. Not my favourite bread for banh mi though, but I'm very specific about that part so it's "to-each-their-own" on that basis. There are other places I prefer for banh mi, but Nissi Banh is always a valid option when you're in the area. Knew I would be out all day, so I picked up some Nissi Banh in the morning and it's just as good as I remember. I swung by around 10 AM on a Saturday and they were still cooking up the hot foods, so the store smelled amazing. If you have a preference for the rice plates or some of the roast meats, you may want to come a bit later in the day. This time I dropped 15 bucks and got 2 sandwiches and 1 banh xeo; Nissi Banh continues to deliver quality at some of the best value in Seattle. Nissi Special (4.5/5): This is effectively the Dac Biet (cold cut combo), but with some extra pork floss and extra sauce. I think it's like 50 cents more expensive and absolutely worth it. I'll admit I've always had a preference for the cold cut banh mi, but this is definitely my top pick. Banh Xeo (4.25/5): Even after sitting in a bag for a couple hours, the banh xeo managed to stay decently crispy. It came with a bag of lettuce and herbs for freshness. Nissi Banh is a Vietnamese deli, which is a staple of many Vietnamese communities. There are a lot of freshly made take-out and pantry items to choose from, and the staff is always nice. I would recommend these options: * bánh giò (banana leaf wrapped steam rice cake with ground pork) - The rice cake and pork are moist and tasty. * nem nướng (pork meatball skewers) were really good and the flavor is just like the ones I ate growing up * bánh ít trần (mung bean sticky rice dumplings): soo good with nice amount of filling The bánh cuốn (rice rolls with ground pork) were okay, but from my experience, it's harder to maintain freshness for this unless you go to a sit-down restaurant that serves it as soon as it's made. I haven't tried the bánh mì or drinks here, which seem to be the most popular options here, but will hopefully be back to try them. read more

I have a personal policy, my "sleep-on-it" rule, for writing negative reviews. It's simple: if I'm still compelled to share my terrible experience the next day, it must be truly awful. Most places, thankfully, don't make the cut. They're just not worth the mental energy. Then there's Nissi. The glowing reviews lured us in, but I'm starting to think those people have either never eaten food before or were dining at a different restaurant entirely. We ate around 3 p.m., and from that moment on, it was a battle. The next morning, our bodies wisely decided to stage a full-scale evacuation, and let's just say the diarrhea was a welcome relief. We both ordered the beef short rib broken rice. Now, I know short ribs have some connective tissue -- that's part of what gives them their rich flavor when they're cooked properly. The long, slow cooking process is supposed to break that down so the meat becomes tender and the fat and collagen melt into the sauce. What we were served, however, was a bizarre collection of rubbery, tendon-like bits that were impossible to chew. It was like a game of culinary Russian roulette, and my teeth lost every round. The excessive sauce seemed like a desperate attempt to hide the fact that the meat was, well, an ancient relic. And don't even get me started on the plaza itself. The walkway had a certain... "urban decay" aesthetic, and the parking lot was littered with debris. The whole place could use a serious cleaning. So long! read more

This is the best banh mi in Seattle and I really don't think it's close. The second I tried it, and I tried the coffee I think I saw colors I've never seen before. The second time I went, I truly spoke to the owners, who are some of the kindest, most genuine people I've met. This is an AMAZING Vietnamese deli. It has so many delicious food selections. All the food that I ordered was soooo good. In particular, I got the chicken baguette sandwich and my husband got the mixed meat sandwich. Both tasted so good and one of the best Bahn mi's that I have had, in fact. I also ordered the rice and pork dish that was really tasty. I grabbed a few other side dishes that I don't know the names for. One was a rice roll with vegetarian filling and the other one was this rice flour base with shrimp filling. All the food that we ordered were so delicious. I noticed over the year, the local deli has reduced their choices to what is available, and often hike a little in prices. Nissi reminds you that quality and variety exists! The prossutio version of ham "NEM," is nice rolled calling me out from the fridge. The Eggroll is fried to perfections. Othello is the official new "Little Saigon." of Seattle. Around the corner at Le's Deli & Cafe, I can find amazing patesue, a Vietnamese flaky pastry. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was full-sized! Though it was stuffed to the brim with good meat and veggies, I would sadly say that the taste was mediocre. I also didn't like that the carrots and daikons were sliced too thickly sliced-- this made quite a few fall off the sandwich as I was eating. But overall, for $6, this is godly. Don't sleep on this place. I will definitely come back to this place for the low prices and delicious food. This deli just reopened after redoing those plumbing. The staff are friendly and were willing to sit down and describe their menu and desserts that are out on the counter. We got a banh mi (special), the durian/pandan cakes, and spring rolls. All were AMAZING. The banh mi was huge and good to split between two people. They do add mayo along with pate but you can ask to do without. They also add a bit of pork sung in their banh mi which I thought was a nice touch. The spring roll sauce was better than I've had anywhere else and the rolls themselves were fresh. Literally the best bahn mi sandwich spot ever! And I've had my familiar share of bahn Mi. I had the chicken sandwich and the beef sandwich. Both are incredibly juice! Just dripping in juice.
