Went in for dip manis a couple weeks ago with my mom. I am giving 2 stars for two reasons: one being the color selection that they have available is amazing. I don't even know how many colors they have, but it was sort of overwhelming. You can definitely find something you want, though. Also, I am giving another star for the fact that this place gives you a stamp card for each visit that you pay for IN CASH. They will not give a stamp if you pay with card, so just beware of that. I often do take cash when I get my nails done, so this was a plus for me because I've been looking for a place with a stamp card for forever!
Anyways, back to my visit here with my mom and the reason for only 2 stars. The other 3 stars were basically lost with the service and vibe I got from the salon in general.
We had made an appointment over the phone, but the first time we tried to make the appointment we got hung up on. Oh well, things happen. Called back, and wanted to ask a few questions about services offered and book our appointments for later that day. Could barely hear the person over the phone! Booked our appointments and hoped for the best!
Got to the salon, and the first thing that struck me was that there were scratch marks on the wall and the place looked somewhat dusty and dirty although the decor is modern and fresh. I brushed it off and was looking forward to the rest of the appointment. Got seated almost right away with two nice nail techs who brought us both a bottled water. We were both getting dip powder and began looking at their variety of colors. I showed my nail tech a color I wanted in a picture, and she had a hard time finding a match which I thought was odd with how many colors they have, but whatever! I chose a color similar and we got started.
The rest of the appointment was just ok for me. My mom would say otherwise. I was bothered by the fact that when my nail tech asked me to go scrub my nails with a brush and dry, there were NO clean brushes and NO clean towels. Now, I know they were very busy this day because it was a Saturday, but really?? I rinsed my hands and walked back to my nail tech's station with dripping hands and told her there were no clean brushes and no towels. She left and went back to the sink. Confused, I followed her thinking she was going to get a clean brush for me. She grabbed a towel from the back and rushed back to the station, motioning for me to come with her. I thought this was odd, but dried my hands with the clean towel and sat down for the rest of the process. At the end, she used a gel top coat and put my nails under the UV light which is not normally the process with dip manicures since the point of them is to not use UV light. I think this caused the final product to be a little rough for the finish. Ugh.
Also, she did not give me a full manicure with cuticle care etc. and lotion massage that I normally get at most other nail salons when getting a full on manicure instead of just a polish change.
Just didn't get the feeling that my mom and I were given the time and caring that our nails needed. Time to continue the hunt for another nail salon that will do it right! Thought this would be the one. read more
