Nice menu, good food, a little loud, but poor service. We were left unattended for long stretches of time. Original server did not return to our table for a good while, then finally came by and said he'd be right back. Never stopped by again. After another long wait he asked if we had ordered. No. He said he had passed us to someone else, but that person never came by. Manager (I think) walked by numerous times and never stopped to check on us even though it was obvious we had been left behind. Finally original server came back and took our order. Took hour and half to get salad. Another long wait for entree. As we were well into entree, server apologized and brought us a complimentary appetizer that we neither wanted or needed at that point. I can not begin to rave enough about this establishment. We're from the midland/odessa area and if anyone one knows, eating places, GOOD fine dinning and/or customer service is scares and hardly exist. Coming to Lubbock for a weekend get away is always a treat because of the many places to eat and we rarely get bad service. This happen to be our anniversary makeup weekend because Covid-19 ruined it so we were looking to have the time of our life and then some! FOUND IT ON A PLATE AND BUISNESS! We had reservations and had to wait a little bit for a table to open but it wasn't even a problem because we got to discuss what we wanted from this amazingly done menu. but even with the wait we weren't forgotten by any means. our host Logan was SOOOOO ATTENTIVE and checked on us several times. Really nice guy and great worker! We got some drinks while we waited. Bar was fantastic for my drink of choice, my husband loved the brewery, ALOT actually (blonde beer! Try it!), lol! The start of our experience here did not disappoint! MOVING ON :) our server was incredible, equally fantastic worker and so sweet! could not have been happier with her! We learned through small chat that her husband was one of the chefs in the kitchen who equally did a phenomenal job! Was able to watch the chefs from the open kitchen which I really enjoyed! They put out some AMAZING food! Ahhh so good As a former chef myself...The ONLY two things I would say was the spatzle on my plate was really salty. Also the brussle sprouts I I feel were'nt trimmed. If they were, it maybe just wasnt enough because the stems were tough and hard to bite through when discovered. No one wants to be tugging at a green veggie in their mouth at a nice table lol. But, y'all it really it did not take away from my review or rating, because I know things happen and its easily adjustable in a fresh eating establishment Thank you west table for incredible food, service and atmosphere! This will be my first review as a yelp reviewer after having the app and reading the reviews made by other food connoisseurs. The West Table gave off a great wine and dine vibe. Our table started off with a dozen oysters hailing from Massachusetts. The oysters were good for being in Lubbock, TX. We then had these little goat cheese balls that I mistaken for cheese puffs. They were pretty dank as well. Our main entree came and our waiter delivered the Vietnamese Bistro Steak served with fried rice and vegetables. It was gas and definitely . Came here for Sunday brunch and was really pleased with everything! The restaurant decor is hip and has an industrial feel to it. We called ahead and made a reservation, just in case, and was seated right away when we arrived. Their brunch consists of a buffet with all you can drink mimosas for $25. They had fruits, pastries, biscuits, gravy, fried chicken, bagels, smoked salmon, and all the fixings, just to name a few. They also had several made to order items which were brought out quickly! Everything I tried was delicious but my absolute favorites were the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits and gravy, and the bagels with lox and cream cheese. Flavors were on point and the fried chicken was perfectly crisp and the meat was tender. I couldn't stop eating that with the creamy mashed potatoes. We also ordered several made to order items including the shrimp and grits, breakfast tacos, chilaquiles, and the baked eggs rancheros. Everything was delicious but our favorites were the breakfast tacos and the chilaquiles. Service was good and they made sure our glasses were never empty! Excellent choice in Lubbock, high end for this area. Had crab hush puppies, bone marrow, chicken fried quail, pan roasted chicken. Hush puppies need more crab and salt. Bone marrow pretty good, needed seasoning also. The star was the quail! Fantastic! Perfect crisp skin, moist, over a bed of killer kale and brussel sprouts. Chicken was also excellent. My experience at The West Table was absolutely stellar! It took a minute to get our main course, but boy was it delicious and totally worth the wait! I came with my mom and best friend where we tried the goat cheese coquettes, the duck, pork chop, and ribeye. When my mom's duck was a bit too salty for her to eat, the manager was so kind and cut it off our tab and got her something different to eat and free crab cakes as well. The first time I went to west table, it was the single best meal I had ever had in my life. The second time I went to west table, I waited over an hour for a very subpar meal. Our food took 1.5 hours to come out of the kitchen and the staff was clearly getting frustrated with us asking how much longer we would have to wait. Very nice restaurant with a good menu with a lot of different options. The food was flavorful and well prepared. We had the fried oysters, beet salad, ribeye, and short ribs. The portions are a little small. The fried oysters appetizer only had about 5 small fried oysters in it. Unfortunately, the ribeye was also a bad cut and was mostly fat. Our service left some to be desired. Our server came back to tell us that our appetizers would be out soon after we already received and eaten them. We also had to ask another server to find ours when we were ready for the check and he was no where to be found. We'll give this place another try since it is an upscale restaurant for a nice dinner out, but we'll try different menu items. read more

Lubbock has a glut of chain-restaurants, with affordable and mildly appetizing options. There are a few sit down dining options that overvalue steaks or dishes of a certain genre. The West Table is fine dining in a backyard. It's a meal between friends who happen to know how to cook (really well I might add). There's enough eccentric options to keep that time of adventure, and plenty of familiar faces to make you feel safe with your choice. It's refreshing to a Lubbock palette dying for something more than expected, but keeps that homegrown local atmosphere that makes you feel welcome to a seat at the table (No pun intended). The food was presented beautifully, but far too salty for either of us (I had the roasted chicken and my husband had the pork chop). I got to enjoy this restaurant with a couple of friends and I can not even begin to tell you how nice it was. The food was just perfect I ordered chicken (because I'm basic) but on our table we also had Lamb and Fish everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We ordered beers from the brewery inside and the waiter we had (I do not remember his name but geez he was amazing) was very knowledgeable and professional. We did go in late but at no point did we ever feel rushed or as if we were a bother. The worst $100 we have EVER spent on dining. How did this place ever make Texas Monthly?? This is supposed to be a fine dining restaurant. We ordered the NOLA Shrimp appetizer, Caesar salad, the fish and risotto entree, 1 scotch and 1 glass of Chardonnay. First of all, the appetizer was delivered and our waitperson brought us paper napkins and a fork. No knife, just a fork. The 4 shrimp were small (they have bigger shrimp at Dimba's!) and the sauce was a bit flavorful but much too heavy on Worcestershire. The Caesar salad was dressed nicely, and had fresh shredded Parmesan on it. The Romaine lettuce was limp however. In hopes our entree would be better we dug in. The fish was cooked dry but had just a tiny line of sauce on top. Too little for the fish. The risotto was mediocre. Best part of the plate was the charred Broccolini. However we couldn't cut it because we had no knife. Asked for one, but it never arrived at our table. The service was certainly not what it should be for this restaurant. One of the oddest experiences in dining we've had in a long time. Super neat space, modern but still cozy, ground floor of a small hotel(?). Very interesting menu and the food ranges from pretty good to excellent. But the service... So I asked for a high-end beer which was brought to me in the bottle. No glass. I asked for the glass and it was brought to me full of ice. I asked the waitress, do people usually put their beer over ice here in Lubbock? She said oh yes. Huh. Then we ordered a bottle of red wine. I asked if it was chilled or the typical Texas red in summertime which is way too warm. She said it'll be warm and we asked if we could have an ice bucket. She disappeared for about 10 minutes. When she came back, she said, "We have a white wine with a very similar taste profile that is already chilled, would you like that one?" Uh, no, but thanks. I asked where our wine was and she said her manager was chilling it for us. I said that's not necessary and could take some time. If you just bring us an ice bucket it will be fine. She said no, company policy. Eventually the manager showed up, presented us the wine and asked us to feel the bottle. Yes, nicely chilled. 30 minutes after our arrival. He also explained it was company policy to chill the wines for the customers. So... nice ambiance, interesting menu, decent food, bizarre service. read more
