We had dinner reservations for 6:45, with an accommodation to be seated somewhere as quiet as possible because my girlfriend is deaf. We showed up about 10 minutes early, and they were able to seat us in the bar area where it was much quieter than the main dining room, without having to ask. The food was amazing. The hushpuppies and salad were fresh, the steaks had amazing flavor and were super tender. It's not very often my rather picky better half will eat something and say "wow this is amazing," but she did! We also ended the meal with an amazing desert. We had 2 cocktails, a soft drink, the entrees, appetizer and desert for $ ~160. It was a truly amazing meal, wonderful atmosphere, the staff were helpful, nice and knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks. We will be returning!! You should too! read more

Very disappointed in coming here. We had a reservation and we had to wait for our table, server tried to give us an appetizer we didn't order, and waited an hour for our entree. I have always given 5 stars in the past but my last experience I had a pork chop and it was raw in the middle. The short ribs my husband had were all fat. Our carrot ginger soup tasted like pure chicken stalk with no carrot flavor. I was so disappointed in our meal that was served that night. I was admittedly a very annoying guest at this place and they were amazing. I showed up on the phone and ordered a drink while I was talking. The bartender picked up on the fact that I was in a serious conversation and showed me to a quiet seat and gave me my drink. The rest of my visit was communicated and dictated by hand gestures and nods due to my call. By this time, he and the staff realize I wanted dinner and very patiently help me with a smile. I was on the phone the entire time and they hardly interrupt it. The service was impeccable and they used their senses to read what I needed incredibly. The cherry on top? The food was outstanding. I was drinking a less-than-common drink (vesper) and it was perfect. Five stars without question. I wish I had the name of that bartender because he set in motion an amazing and unexpected experience as I had my very important call. Happy Valentines Day! So me and my family decided to give The West Table a try for Valentines Day. They did a four course meal special and it was to die for. I wish I would have taken pictures of each course, but I devoured them too quickly to think about snapping a photo. However, I did manage to remember to take a photo before digging into my main course. I chose their Ribeye served with a side of mashed potatoes and bacon Brussels sprouts. The Ribeye was savory and the sides were perfection. I generally eat my steak Rear but tonight I decided to have it Medium. It had a nice sear on top and and the seasoning made your mouth water with every bite. The mashed potatoes were creamy and fluffy. In addition, the Brussel Sprouts were sautéed in bacon grease making the most delicious pairing. When combined with the mashed potatoes the flavors really pop. I hope your experience is a great as mine was! This place makes the perfect date night. read more

There was a mixup in the kitchen and it took over an hour to get our food, at which point the owner apologized, the weight staff kept me updated, and the meal was comped. We've never had a bad meal here. The service has always been spot on and they have Gluten Free options. The drinks are also very good.

UPDATE: I've heard unlimited mimosas are no long included in the price. I'm so happy that I went here for brunch! Definitely a place to check out, it made me feel high class (lol). But really, $25 for the buffet, unlimited mimosas, and ANY and ALL of the made-to-order items is a wonderful deal. Buffet: amazing. Best fried chicken and biscuits of my life. The shrimp and grits were my only disappointment. I didn't like the sauce which may be a person problem, but the grits were an odd consistency as well. But everything else definitely made up for it! This is my absolute FAVORITE restaurant in Lubbock. I've been here several times for dinner and their Sunday Supper. This weekend I decided to try their brunch. It's a $25 brunch buffet that includes mimosas of your choice. It can be a bit pricey, but I think it was worth it. Make sure you make reservations beforehand otherwise you won't get a table!! They have set up a small buffet line with eggs, French toast, potatoes, and fried chicken. On top of that, you can choose made to order dishes. My friends and I pretty much tried all the dishes on the made to order menu. My favorite was the Chilaquiles. I think it's the best Chilaquiles I've had. I really like Shrimp and Grits so I tried that too, but was not impressed. There was way too much Worchestschire sauce in it. Everything else on their made to order menu was pretty good. I got a grapefruit mimosa while my friend got a pineapple mimosa. Service was pretty good, as well. Every time I've been here, the staff is very attentive. Overall, I love West Table and it has never failed to disappoint me with the variety and quality of its food!! read more

As USUAL!, Everything was AMAZING! I love every aspect of The West Table. It is loud I guess but I don't notice, its a restaurant? Right. The Oysters are always so tasty. Black Magic had the sweet briny flavor of the ocean. The fish and steak and sides were spot on as well. This was a very special restaurant in historic Lubbock area. Menu was a very special and food was excellent. Wait staff was very attentive and made sure we were satisfied. We have read wonderful reviews, looked at incredible photos of beautiful dishes with duck breast and other entree's that include lovely sides. We planned a special date night at West Table tonight and walked away completely dissatisfied and appalled at our entrees. My wife ordered the duck breast entree and I can tell you that is not what she received at all. She received two slices of overcooked duck breast on a bed of some sort of Asian noodle that lacked appeal and was mostly noodles and very little duck breast. I ordered the lamb, also severely lacking in quantity and the side was cold and completely unappetizing. Our son is graduating Texas Tech. We booked our reservation months in advance for 8 people knowing it will be pack. Came time for our reservation 4 hrs before our reservation we called to move the reservation time from 6pm to 7pm and only 5 people the guy that picked up the phone said ok confirmed and even mentioned my name. Came 6:15 someone called and asked if we were coming, and we said yes at 7pm. 15minutes later someone called and said that we were late. I have explained to her all the details and she said she had given our table away but we have a table in the bar area. We said ok. We got there and they had a wedding party in the bar area so it was a lil crowded. But we said it's ok. Ordered wine, whiskey sour, oysters, fried green tomato, shrimp, pork belly wantons, ribeye, filets, rack of lamb, pork porterhouse, espresso creme brulee. Whiskey sour, the bartender needed guidance, mine was too sour and garnish was lacking. Oysters were meh! Maybe due to the fact that it's August or something but they weren't fresh. Fried Green Tomato my family seemed to enjoy and ate it all. Shrimp which I think Gumbo style sauce was okay but they were good with the bread that came with it. In fact we order another plate of bread to dunk into the sauce. We replaced the Oysters with crispy pork belly wantons which was delicious basically like egg roll. The rack of lamb with curry our son seemed to enjoy and tasted the curry it has a really nice flavor with it. Ribeye was undercook; order it medium but came rare, I did not send it back did not want to eat alone after-all. Filets my hubby and gma liked it hubby order it with grits but I guess the waitress misheard us. The Pork porterhouse was excellent! Mom liked it a lot as well must have been a good breed since the fat was tasty and very tender. The Espresso Creme brulee was velvety smooth and not too sweet just the right amount of sugar but very small size portion came with 2 cookies. We also order red velvet cake but it was dry and tasted stale; the waitress tried to argue that the baker made it today yet it was dry the whole table tried it and we all made the same conclusion. The service was definitely lacking, first off if we can see your bra through your buttons side not appropriate for this type of establishment. 2ndly we had to get up several times to the bar to get what we need, and she seemed to have an attitude. 3rdly have your reservation system organize! OpenTable does magical.... With the amount of money we paid for an okay food and mediocre service we will not be returning. read more

We had a very unpleasant experience, especially for high prices this place charges. We ordered oysters and quail for appetizer; duck and pork for the main course. Oysters were great, but everything else tasted horrible. Chef salted all other dishes so liberally that we couldn't eat them . And they did nothing to change the situation, just took quail from the check. We will never go back there. read more

My partner and I go here for special occasions (e.g., anniversaries, birthdays). We have been 4 or so times so far, and have never left disappointed. The atmosphere is classy, industrial modern, but with comfortable wood tones. Impressively, West Table does not come across as pretentious because of how honest it presents with quality and style. They are expensive. However, they deliver on that cost. Their menu items rotate with the seasons. They usually include different types of meat such, duck, chicken, pork, beef, lamb. Then they expertly pair it with a side dish created for that entree. The portions are fulfilling (order an additional side salad and/or appetizer if you are really hungry), and the presentations are lovely. Equally enjoyable are their deserts, which also change throughout the year. Most recently, I order their chocolate something or other and my partner ordered the vanilla pudding. Both were amazing and hit the spot after our duck and lamb entrees. We also had their Suit and Thai cocktail which was creative, delicious, and helped set the mood for our anniversary. Lovely trendy restaurant in downtown. Stopped by for lunch and had the delicious beet salad and a cup of the soup. My friend and I shared the goat cheese appetizer.... I would be ok no eating that again. The goat cheese to breading ratio was off, smaller balls with more raspberry sauce would probably be better. The prices here are on the higher end for the area but worth it for the great food and fabulous service. I can see this being a nice date might spot. read more
