    Beer is art!!! TRUTH
    Jennifer H.

Excellent atmosphere and friendly service. This place has such a relaxed vibe with live music and indoor and outdoor seating. All the beers we tried were excellent!

I enjoyed their nice, cold, light blonde on a warm Saturday August afternoon. Lots of outdoor seating and fortunately it was shaded with a decent breeze so not too bad. There were a few indoor tables and couches that were air conditioned, but most of the seating was outdoors on picnic tables. There was an art fair in the parking area and live music so pretty chill vibe. No food trucks. And most importantly, the beer was pretty decent.

This place has a great atmosphere and the beer was really good. Tried the Buddy Hoppy IPA and the Two Docs Bock. Bock was refreshing and not too heavy. I'm normally not an IPA person but I would get the one here again. Was a little sad they brew seasonally, so I couldn't try the porter. There's also beer to go if you find something you enjoy. They have some snacks for sale (bag pretzels and paletas) and there's normally food trucks, though not when we came by.

    Current selection.

Very cool place to hang and grab a beer. Happy hour starts from open to 5pm. And that's when it ends, but the food trucks arrive. They don't serve food so if your hungry either come after 5pm or eat before. Very friendly bartender. Good service and ambiance is laid back; Chill y'all. I recommend the Weller Weiss.

Beer and staff were amazing! We got to sample quite a few different beers. Staff were very knowledgeable and were able to answer all our questions. Well worth the visit, even tho Apple Maps took us around the block five time...

Bar top, with their bock, and an amazing beanie....

We arrived on our way to New Mexico. The vibe is super chill, and friendly. Our beer tender was super chill, helpful and again FRIENDLY! Alex was awesome. The beer is amazing. Lots of variety, stouts, hazy, ipa, sours!!! We did a flight. I would come back here a million times over!

Was nearby and decided to stop by and I am glad I did. They have been in business for three years and was formed by two amigos (two docs figure it out). I had some great tastings of their beers. They rotate the beer selection seasonally. They have about 10-12 at a time. Really liked the Doktoberfest and Love Pilsner. You can get "to go" canned beer also. They have food trucks daily. I did not get to try though as I needed to move on. For locals, they do have "loyalty program" with multiple benefits. Ian and Jade served me and made sure I had all I needed. If you are nearby, give it a try. Enjoy!

Two docs is honestly such a great addition to Lubbock. I love how they support our local musicians and have great beer options. Me, my boyfriend and my boy Mischief(see him eyeing my beer in the photo) love coming to two docs to support local. Their staff is friendly, attentive, and will always have great recommendations if you give them an idea of what you like. Highly recommend!

Super fun Trivia night!! Staff was very friendly. We tried a flight of four beers because we aren't huge beer drinkers, unfortunately they were not for us and we would love to see some ciders or seltzers offered in the future! Our beer drinking friends did like them all just fine though. Food truck outside was really cool "Farm to Fork" and we loved the concept and environment.

    Good Line Beer

    (26 reviews)

Located in the heart of Lubbock, Good Line is going to be the best beer you can get in West Texas…read moreand can go toe to toe with competitors in Austin or Dallas any day of the week. Good Line publicly opened its doors in mid-2022, and after I turned 21 that November, I immediately found myself becoming a regular. Through my final two years of college, I would always come to get some easy school work done, work on final projects, grab some beers with my friends, and come to their fun events like Oktoberfest, 4th of July, their anniversary parties, Cinco De Mayo with Jiminez, Lager Jam West, and more. From the owners Chris and Shawn to their staff like Eli and others, they are all very charming and great people to talk to. They all know their stuff when it comes to beer, so they can guide people who only know Miller Lite and Blue Moon as well as those with a more expansive palate, making sure each person gets the right beer for themselves. I always found myself trying new beers and styles done exceptionally well by Good Line that I may have never tried if not for their location existing. Some of my favorites they have served are Range Life, Parklife, which I miss since it has not made a return in some time, Floating in Space, These Pretzels, Wish I Was A Baller, All Night Candlelight, Specifics On The General, and Old Man Marley, to name a few. They also have a killer Cherry Seltzer and a pretty good wine based margarita. Their cheaper light beer, Friendo, is another great choice for people who are not looking for crazy craft beer but can still appreciate quality. There is plenty to do at Good Line, from watching major sporting events to joining the Monday night run club, participating in their book club, or just chopping it up with other Lubbock residents. It feels like a third space for a very specific kind of person. A person that loves a good beer but does not get plastered. A person that loves a good conversation on music with someone they have never met before. It is always a great time at Good Line, and I have met some really great people and regulars just from the times I have visited. I do not live in Lubbock anymore after graduating, but every time I visit, I always make a stop once or twice because it is always worth my time. God bless the Line. Come by sometime and experience the highest level of beer and comfort. RIYL: Good craft beer in the heart of Lubbock.

I haven't returned to Mano Negra since it moved from its old location in Cactus Alley to the heart of Lubbock. Their old spot was very tight but had such an unadulterated charm that made the space feel special. The new location feels a lot more modern, but as its fanbase continues to grow, it needed more space to work with anyway. Inside, there's a huge wall of art and plenty of seating, and it feels like a place that doesn't belong in Lubbock. It feels so mid-city that it almost made me emotional. In the back lies their bar, where they serve their famed sangria, house-brewed beers, and other beverages. Their bartenders are super knowledgeable and will help you make the right choice. In the corner are a few arcade machines, including Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat II, Defender, and Pac-Man. There are also plenty of board games to pick up as well. As for the drinks, the Sunset Sangria and their Sandia Sangria I had were both exceptional. Good sangria hits like nothing I've ever had before. Mano Negra's new spot has a great deal of outdoor seating and patio space. If the inside gets too loud or too crowded, and if there's live music like there was when I went, it can get LOUD. The outdoor space offers a quiet escape and a great conversation spot on a cool night in Lubbock. The overall vibe and energy of Mano Negra are lively. The Brazilian students playing music in the corner brought out a new level of energy to the night, and I had a blast going here. I warn that their drinks are a little strong and the energy can get a little hot, so you may find yourself three drinks deep, unable to resist getting your dance on a little bit. Have a little fun with it. RIYL: Feeling A L I V E on a Friday night

I feel like Bierhaus is a place worthy of two separate reviews, so I'm going to write it as such:…read more I. Bierhaus has the best burgers in Lubbock. I am not even going to front with you. Their buns have such a sweetness to them mixed with a sharp and well-cooked patty, American cheese (a must in a cheeseburger), and their haus sauce that is like a thousand island style sauce that all combines into a delight. It always has a hefty weight to it and a well balanced amount of tomatoes, lettuce, and onions. How do you explain the concept of a burger? It's really just something special. I like coming here for lunch. It's a bar at the end of the day, but their burgers are what make me want to come back. Many times in college, a friend would suggest Bierhaus, and I would tell them yes only if we got there before their kitchen closed because I needed a burger. They also give you a ton of fries. More fries than you'll ever need with a burger. That's awesome. Being in Texas, you see a lot of places offer a patty melt similar to the ones at Whataburger. A lot of places try to make a higher version dupe of a patty melt, and I think it always falls flat, but Bierhaus's does a pretty good job of being its own thing. Thank you for good food, Bierhaus. RIYL: Boorger II. Bierhaus is a great starter bar for a night out as a college kid in Lubbock. I don't think it's a place to end up if you're hitting multiple spots, but I find it endearing as a warm up spot or a one and done on a chill night. The two story indoor space can be loud, but there's a lot of booths for hanging around and chatting, with plenty of TVs. The outdoor patio has a different energy with swings, large tables, and a DJ. They always have a great selection of beers and good deals to go around. It was one of the few bars in Lubbock to offer cans of peebers (PBRs), which was always exciting for me. They also have their Capri Funs, which I always enjoy. Bierhaus is worth the party. RIYL: Brewskis

On the side of the building is a mural stylized after Dirk West cartoons with Raider Red chasing chickens, which immediately helps you understand this food is about to be heavenly. I miss my college town favorites since moving to Austin, so it's always a beautiful moment to return these spaces especially with a friend that always generates great conversation. Inside the restaurant are two spaces: the bar and the tables. We arrived a little after 6 pm, and the dinner rush had beaten us there, plus a large birthday party, which gave us a 30-minute wait or immediate seating at the bar. Bar it is! We were immediately seated and served water. They have a full open bar, some select bottled beer options, and draft choices from their sister location, Brewery LBK. The decor of the restaurant is built around cartoonist and former Lubbock mayor Dirk West. The artwork, statues, and other pieces from Dirk's collection give the place a lot of great character. Their menu is slim, and Dirk's is better for it. I love a menu that limits your options because you know everything is going to be done to the highest level. Their options span from different styles of chicken tenders and bone-in chicken, including Korean Fried Chicken and Nashville Hot Chicken, while also serving traditional bone-in chicken and chicken tenders. I've had a few things from their menu, but this time I ordered their traditional chicken tenders with mashed potatoes topped with jalapeño bacon gravy and their fried okra. It felt like the order was placed in front of me before I had finished ordering; it was that efficient. Places that have small menus not only seem to focus on quality, but they can also churn out meals quicker because they're always firing variations of the same thing. Everything in front of me, from their specialty sauce to the large amount of fried okra and their perfectly breaded and fried chicken tenders, was immaculate. The best part of all of it is the price tag. With the rising costs of fast food, Dirk's is not too dissimilar and is ultimately affordable for the value and amount of food you get. I don't know what else to add here. If you like chicken, I cannot recommend this place enough. If you don't like chicken, you were never 8 years old before. RIYL: Chicken with the quality of sit-down restaurants but the efficiency of Raising Cane's.

I also tried the nashville hot chicken. Let's go pros: I really enjoyed the side options and the amount of food for the price. Chicken was juicy on the inside and not dry. The flavor on the Nashville hot chicken was enjoyable. Cons: The chicken itself doesn't feel marinated or anything so the flavor isn't in the chicken itself. The seasoning on the tenders was very minimal and just tasted like a lot of salt. Same with the okra... the fry on the okra was good but just tasted like salt. The mashed potatoes were fine but the "bacon" in the gravy was canadian bacon or something because it wasn't crispy like bacon. I wouldn't get the mash again.. Nashville definitely had better flavor, but was very very very oily. It's also has like virtually no spice. Dirks signature sauce is like canes sauce but tangier... (Canes is better I'm sorry). Service was good! They do charge 2.5% credit card fee so bring cash.
