Great service! Great food! Great drinks! Started with the bone marrow which was amazing, I was offered to do a bone marrow luge which only enhanced the flavor of the drink. Beet salad was full of flavor. Tenderloin was cooked to perfection, and absolutely amazing! Only down fall was tiramisu lacked any coffee flavor at all. Other than that hands down amazing experience. Simply put, The West Table is the finest restaurant in Lubbock. My wife and I decided to try out the Sunday Chef's Dinner for our anniversary and were not disappointed. Everything about the restaurant oozes class. The dinner menu on Sunday is limited, but they have something for everyone. The shared appetizers were spring rolls and tacos and both were outstanding. The second course was a choice of soup or salad. I tried the watermelon gazpacho which was really fun and unique and my wife had the house salad which had raspberries and bleu cheese and she enjoyed it thorough. For the entree I opted for the BBQ pork chops with grits and my wife had the pan seared chicken with potato salad. She let me try her chicken and it was delicious as was the potato salad. The pork chops were amazing but the real revelation was the cheddar grits and collard greens. Each were the best that I've ever had. The cherry cobbler for dessert was very good, but I don't think anything could top the entree course. My wife also had a specialty cocktail which she really liked. According to our waiter, the Sunday Chef's dinner is a different menu every week and I posted a picture of our menu from that evening. At $25 a person, the portion sizes and quality are very good, especially considering how expensive The West Table can get every other day of the week. FYI, they do require a reservation. read more

This was my first visit to The West Table. I've heard great things and was happy and pleasantly surprised to see a restaurant like this in Lubbock, and I was encouraged by the work Cameron put in prior to coming home. The NOLA shrimp appetizer was delicious! My husband ordered the pork porterhouse. Unfortunately it was overcooked and drowned in the sauce. The tomato okra stew was wonderful, but the grits were over salted. My strip loin was perfectly cooked, but the accompanying sides were also over-seasoned. Our server was knowledgeable and provided excellent service. He also was right on with a pretty decent red wine. The blondie we had for desert was absolutely amazing- wow was it good!! This is my new favorite place to eat! Located in downtown Lubbock, this restaurant offers fine dining and great service. I was wowed from the appetizers (the crab hush puppies are a must-try), to entree, to dessert. The fillet and stacked enchilada are to die for. The filet melts in your mouth. The jumbo shrimp was equally amazing (seafood is flown in fresh). Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and offered great suggestions. Stopped in during a business trip in Lubbock with two colleagues. First time visit to The West Table. Two of us had the spare ribs and I had the fish (similar to swordfish, can't remember the name). Brunch here was indescribably good! Having said that, here are some memorable highlights -- the mimosas are fabulous and actually have some champagne in them (unlike some brunches that include mimosas in the price). Wonderful idea to have a mixture of buffet and off-the-menu selections. The fried chicken was some of the best we've ever had--crispy and melt in your mouth! So disappointed my $41 tenderloin came with French fries! I must have not read the menu correctly but if I knew fries were coming with my ridiculously expensive piece of meat then I would have substituted or ordered something else. I'm sorry but you don't charge Bobs steakhouse prices and serve me French fries. The tenderloin was good, not great. Five guys makes better fries, I didn't finish them. My girlfriend got the short rib with mashed potatoes and sprouts... they got that one right. Really good. Was super jealous I didn't have a plate of mash and sprouts. Should have done the same and saved myself $11 bucks and gotten another whiskey. The oysters were great, super fresh. The place is cool. Waiter was just ok, no introduction to the menu or explanation of anything. Also, he brought the check out with no book. I'm sorry but when I'm dropping over a hundred dollars then I get to decide if the person I'm with sees the tab or not. Suggestion: if the owner of the west table wants to do fine dining then do it all the way. Look up beef tenderloin in google images and find me a photo where French fries are paid with it. Your $1 potato deep fried in oil doesn't need to be sat next to your decent $41 beef. read more

My fiancé (ahh!!!) and I came here right after we got engaged to celebrate. We had an incredible time. The wait staff were all so kind and came over to congratulate us. They brought us glasses of champagne to celebrate with us and for us to enjoy with our dessert. It was a Sunday night so we did the preset 4 course meal for $25 a person and it was awesome. The food was so fresh and flavorful. They went above and beyond to make us feel so special and I'm so grateful to have that memory now, our first dinner together as an engaged couple!! I don't like leaving bad reviews but after asking management several times to contact me about a recent poor dining experience (voice mail, e-mail and Web site) with no response I feel I must. Fish, oysters, quail and steaks ordered were of poor quality and both my wife and I felt like neither the red fish or the oysters were fresh. Speaking of point, please get their blue point oysters on the half shell with cocktail sauce, lemon and horseradish. Beef tips are phenomenal. Typically ask the waiter(ess) for their recommendation. I guess they must be doing well, although I'm not sure how with their business model. We walked in at 11:20 am on Sunday. Nowhere on their website or menu said reservations only. We had a few couples in line ahead of us when we arrived and all of us were turned away. The dining room was empty except for about 3 tables. I couldn't believe it, I asked the hostess " how are you unable to seat us? Almost every table is empty?" She responded by saying that every table is reserved. I told her okay, but there's no one here, no one waiting outside. "They're coming soon". The restaurant turned away $150 of income ($50 per couple) for people that weren't even there. They could have served us and turned the table before the other people even got there. I get reservations, most large cities take them, but dont make every table in your restaurant reservable. You just osterized six paying customers that we saw and im sure countless others for people who have given you no money in advance. I'll never even attempt to come back because of that experience. read more

Don't bother going to this place! We were treated so poorly I can not recommended this restaurant to anyone. We made reservations months in advance, they even called and asked that we move it back by 30 mins and we agreed. Yet when we arrived we waited over 45 minutes to be seated! Once our party of 17 were seated they "cut us off" from the bar and accused members of our party of being drunk (one of which was 14 yrs old). Many of us had only had one drink due to the poor quality of service. The food was cold and mediocre at best. The bill was wrong and we paid for items that were never served. The management and staff never tried to "make things right" for a total bill that easily totaled over $1,000. I will never return to this restaurant. Rude was and understatement as to how they treated everyone in our party! read more

The service here leaves something to be desired. I showed up for my noon reservation and was casually ignored for fifteen minutes. It was lively for a lunch service but it wasn't so full that there was no time for the waiter to drop by. I had to talk to the hostess just to get a server to acknowledge our presence. We ordered when he finally showed up and half an hour later still didn't even have our drinks. It's almost as if our waiter was willfully ignoring us. The food was overall just okay. The building architecture and interior design is supposed to make you think you're someplace more hip than Lubbock, but the food quality doesn't match up. If the food is just average then I'm paying for the ambience, but service isn't even good. There's nothing going for this place except that it's in Lubbock and it doesn't really have any other competition. read more

West Table is a fabulous place to have a farm to market fresh dinner in Lubbock. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff attentive to the diners. I had the fresh fish plate, John Dory, and asked for vegetables instead of the pasta side. Not only did they happily fulfill my request, but gave me a choice of 5 different fresh vegetables. Amazing!! The general manager, Mike Nghiem was visible and checking with patrons during their dining experience. He even took the time to walk me to my car, when I asked how to get back to the correct parking lot. read more
