The building was the star...pretty cool place. The food wasn't bad. My pasta was on point, but appetizer and desert were avg. Our service was not good at all. We placed our beverage order and ordered an appetizer, then no one came to take our order for 20 min. This was on a Weds with open tables. Waiter asked how we were doing and we said we would love to order...you could tell by his face he realized he forgot to ever take our order. Unfortunately this was a pattern the rest of the night. Lots of walks past our table looking at our empty glasses and kept walking...later would ask if we needed anything and we say yes please drinks. Refills on iced tea meant glass brought back with zero ice. He would be in corner drinking his drink while taking 5 min to bring refills on our drink. I can check the vault off my list. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Tulsa. Even though I mainly live in Norman Oklahoma, my boyfriend does live in Tulsa so we decided to go here for a date night. The restaurant itself has a cool 60s feel to it with everything being on point. We had a reservation at 5:15 but got there early which was not a problem. Their specialty cocktails are $11 and my God are they worth it. We asked our server what he recommended for a cocktail on their specialty menu, and he recommended the alimony payment. This cocktail is easily in my top three. We also ordered the mac & cheese as an appetizer which was delicious. My boyfriend got just a simple Caesar salad and a chicken sandwich to go, and both were fantastic. They have seasonal menus, so I got the salmon cakes and they were so so good. Pork was tender and juicy and crisp pickle and soft soft bread. Oh the sauce spread was chef's kiss!!! Seasoned fries crispy shoestring style, I've been looking for Anthem's Peach Cobbler Sour Ale and it is so good, they have here currently on tap. Subtle peach cider style beer, doesn't even taste like beer nor is it too sweet or overpowering peach. It's just perfect!!! My new fav currently! Have you taken a cocktail class before? If you have, I'm sure it wasn't as entertaining and curated as The Vault's. I partook in the class on Thursday (Sept. 26th, 2024). I purchased my ticket with a friend who convinced me to tag along. As someone who can enjoy simple, straightforward experiences, I found myself highly captivated and immediately fulfilled with my visit. Though the offering is titled "cocktail class," no pens, paper or notes will be needed! The class presents as more of a show with a theme. As my first time (ever) in The Vault, I was shook by the instant allure of the design - large doors, tall glass windows, spacious seating area, ample natural lighting and modern fixtures. Upon entry, a host asks if I was here for the bartending class in which I was guided to a seat with my name affixed. Also at the seat was a short menu of the theme & drink menu. The bartender (from Virginia) was very attentive and nice the entire time. Upon being seated, I was immediately greeted and brought the gratuitous appetizer which was a skewered meats & vegetables, chocolate-covered strawberries, corn tortilla chips and chunky guacamole. I enjoyed all them individually and, as someone who normally does NOT eat guacamole, I thought it was delicious. The next bartender (Sylvia) was just as attentive and friendly. THEN THE SHOW BEGINS. Roughly 15mins after the arrival time, themed-entry music begins and a curly-haired woman by the name of Libby (the owner) pops out at the front of the restaurant. She welcomed everyone to the class, explained the theme and then goes into the making of each cocktail. Since the theme of the night was Musicals, she provided history of each musical and how it was crafted into a cocktail. She owns the crowd as she educates and displays how to make each item. She was well-versed in her knowledge of liquors of all varieties. After the pours, shakes and stirs, she cheers the crowd and walks off to applause. A true thespian. This cycle continued for the remainder of the evening. As the staff wearilessly fixed drinks and made orders, we were educated on Oklahoma!, Wicked, Hamilton and Mama Mia as we fell to the allure of ambiance, entertainment and intoxication. The owner was very involved in the production, presentation and service which was beyond impressive. I was overly delighted to have been apart of the experience. A mere $40 for four cocktails, entertainment and an appetizer is quite reasonable, it's no wonder why they sell out each show. This location has its own parking lot. The building itself has a very cool design. We were seated quickly. We ordered some appetizers and cocktails. Oddly our food arrived before our drinks and we were pretty much done with the food before our drinks arrived, there were only a few other tables so it wasn't overtly busy. The fries were good. A good place to grab lunch. There was six in our group and it was a fantastic day to dine outside. We started with the Bruschetta 3 ways - highly recommend, I also ordered Cheese Fries for the table (would not recommend) the fries did not have enough cheese to make it worthy to called them Cheese Fries. For lunch I choose the Top Shelf Burger. I asked for medium rare - they missed the mark on that! The burger was tasty but the brioche bun did not hold up and was soggy on the bottom half way through. (Personally we Southern women respect a successful woman owned business in Tulsa, not shying down from being strong & self assertive. 2nd impression (15 min) : the show host had done her homework extensively and was available after class to answer questions and politely charm guests. Definitely worth coming for the next class 1,000% just avoid the food which is painful for me to admit . Figured I'd give this place a shot since I was within walking distance from my hotel. If I'm being honest, it was okay at best maybe even marginal... maybe I got the wrong thing? But idk... the atmosphere was very cool however,. Felt like I was in an old diner or sorts, but the steak frites I ordered were terrible... the presentation looked like a 4 year old scribbled bbq sauce over a crappy piece of steak with a ton of fries. The steak was chewy, tough, and had no flavor. That coupled with the fact they just threw it over a bed of poorly seasoned fires didn't go over well with me.... Shockingly reasonably priced for a sit down restaurant downtown with good food, this locally owned gem is a fun retro spot tucked into what used to be a 1950s drive through bank. They have delightful nods to the past, such as using the old counters you'd get deposit slips at for tables. Service was attentive with excellent attention to details and recommendations. Will definitely return. Started with a small Drive Through Salad and it was amazing. Light, fresh and refreshing, just what I wanted with a vinaigrette that was perfectly zesty but not overbearing and roasted pecans. The chicken entree, had delicious flavor, but have to knock a star off because the mashed potato's fell flat especially since they were cold. Pointed this out to the server who apologized, but a replacement side was never offered, which would have been nice because let's face it, cold mashed potato's are just going in the microwave. My dining partners had the Cuban sandwiches. Overall the sandwich was tasty, but a Cuban it was not. Cubans should have Swiss cheese, not cheddar, and it was served on a ciabatta roll, which while good, was a far cry from hot pressed French/cuban bread. I get artistic license, but this sandwich departs a little too far from a a true Cuban to be called one, or at least not have a twist on the name, of course I may just be picky because I've spent a lot of time eating Cuban in Tampa. read more
