Huge fan of UPS in general, but this store is here to take full advantage of you. They tried to sell us the biggest box they could find and up sell everything over $60 more than it needed to be. Oh hey, you need some tape for that box? Let me leave the tape you wish you could use on the counter (if you pay them another $50 of course) to throw some bags in a box and tape it closed. But no, instead buy a whole new roll to close up a single box. I've never had such a lousy group of people helping me at a UPS store, and I frequent them a lot. I've been here two times and I have been helped with two different customer service agents, neither time did I get their name. They were both super helpful and polite. I love that the area it in has free parking and is never too crowded. read more

My opinion is: just avoid this location and go somewhere else - many other options in the area. Had a very poor experience here with a rude, filppant employee. Twice he told me things that weren't true which, had I not made extra effort to double check him on the spot, would have cost me $6 additional on a $46 transaction. Even more telling is that despite communication with UPS corporate in which they told me the owner of the store would be in contact with me, he never did reach out to me to learn what happened. That doesn't surprise me, though, given the blatant nature of how rude the young employee in the store was -- my impression was he feared no retribution at all for the way he interacted with me -- and ultimately, that seems to have ended up the case. read more

I don't understand why. My debit and credit cards all match my name. He just did not want me to take the package...I will definitely not go to this ups store again. read more

This place is super convenient and always fast service. That guy that brought in a pair of shoes and expected it to be shipped free was funny. He should try dropping them in a mailbox and see what happens. LOL. Anyway this store is a blessing for the community and I use it all the time. read more

Stopped by today to send a letter-sized doc to NYC with 5 days to spare. Employee suggested I buy 2-day vs 3-day service as that service was 'more reliable.' I asked 'why more reliable' and he said that 'fewer hands touch a 2-day so there's less that can go wrong.' Since I assume these are UPS hands I thought this was odd. Since I was there, I decided to do the $30 2-day and asked for an legal-sized envelope for my letter which I was given, and after I sealed it employee said that would be 15 cents. The whole experience was off so I paid for the envelope and said I'd go to FedEx. I drove .3 mi to the FedEx on Colorado west of Lake and got 3-day service for $9.90 quickly and efficiently. read more

It took a while to get a staff to help me with my package. When I couldn't print my papers due to the machine not being able to read my card one of the staff members did offer help so the whole experience was not all bad. read more

Every time I go to this UPS store to send a package, very often a return to Amazon, they handle the shipment quickly and efficiently. They close up the box, tape it, affix the shipping label, and give me a tracking receipt all super quick and with a smile. And there is rarely a line or wait. Super convenient! This franchise location intentionally adds an extra inch to your package dimensions so they can overcharge you. When I questioned them about it, first they tried to "prove" it with a tape measure by overhanging the zero end of the tape so that the tape would show a higher number. When I called them on that, they claimed that they couldn't put in the correct measurement because UPS would "call them on it" and charge the franchisee for the extra inch, which is a blatant lie. One inch can make a significant difference in price; in my case it was an extra $7. Next time I will just use UPS's website to pay and print the label so I can avoid this dishonesty. read more

I been coming to this location for awhile. The service is very good. And whenever I have asked questions Israel always provided very knowledge information regarding shipping and packaging costs. I recommend anyone continue using this location I've been to others and the staff seems like they hate being there, but not at this location. Great experience in this store. Came in to pack and ship some boxes, and the lady helping me was great (can't remember her name but was wearing glasses). She explained what box she would use and what kind of packing material would be required to ship the boxes out. The price was really good and the costumer service was beyond great. This location was previously a gold and silver purchasing business when gold was at it's highest. Since the prices have waned, so had business and is now a UPS Store with a different owner and business model. To me, this is a much better type of business for the area, with all the high-end businesses along Lake Ave. and the high-rise buildings that make Lake Avenue a thriving Business District. The Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association is located across the street, as well as many other tenants in the corner building next to the 210 Freeway. As far as the types of services, I have seen various types of stationary for sale, as well as services, such as electronic printing and copying, faxes, manuscript binding and many other activities the average person may not have the equipment for. The only problem is parking because there are 3-4 other businesses that must share the spaces, and fortunately, it seems to work out, based on my visit today during the lunch hour. If it were Friday afternoon when documents are usually due, it may be another story... read more

THIEVES! I WOULD NOT recommend this store. I recently established mailbox service at this location. Within less then 24 hours of signing up, I contacted the store to advise them that I did not require service after all. Initially, I was advised by the clerk, Jazmin, that no refund would be given. After becoming irate, and subsequently advising her of the 3-day right of recision law, she reluctantly agreed to refund my money. Upon returning the mailbox key (the same day), I was treated coldly and was advised that, per the owner, $20 would be witheld from my refund to cover processing fees! At that point, I left the store as I decided to let my credit card company handle the matter. These folks are clearly not "customer focused" and have no intention of employing fair business practices. As such, fellow Yelpers, I do not recommend this location. Tip: you will save roughly $150 per year by going directly to the United States Post Office to establish service. Hope this helps! P.S. Zero stars was not an option! read more

Love this location - so glad they opened here and replaced the gold-buying place. Super friendly and helpful staff, lower prices and better service than the nearby FedEx store on Colorado, and they take Amazon returns with free shipping labels and half-price computer use (plus no charge for printing) for all shipping labels that you need to print from an email via their computers. Happy to not have to go to FedEx ever again! Hopefully this place will extend their hours once they've been open a little longer - they currently close at 7pm. read more

Recently, I used this location to send clients some larger items. Long story short, there was big price difference (distance was responsible) between the items. It was somewhat irritating but the manager, (Lindsey I believe) answered all my questions as to why. She even went as far as looking into my other shipments to find out where the price difference occurred. In the end, sometimes you are in a losing situation but they answered my questions and even accommodated a coupon to help the price a bit. In this day and age, that's all I can ask for! The customer aervice here is amazing. Had to get some last minute packages sent out before the new year, and I was running late. I got there about 5 minutes late and the door was locked, but one of the employees saw me and opened the door for me. Instead of saying "we are closed." Which they completely could have cause they were, let me in and took my packages. Not to many places will do what they did, and for that I thank them. This ups really saved us. read more

Absolutely awful. I came in on a Thursday requesting next day delivery on an extremely important package that had perishable content (with an ice pack inside). I was promised it would arrive on time and got my print out here that stated "UPS next day." I figured I could trust this, especially since it was only going as far as Torrance. I find out Friday night that it's stuck in their Ontario UPS location (?!) and just sitting in a truck all weekend, and that they didn't even send it out till late Friday. Customer service scolds me for not having a dry ice container and clearly laid out refrigeration specifications, while this UPS store on Lake blames it on "whoever made the label" and tells me to call customer service (who, by the way, told me to call them). What the hell?? Literally nobody takes responsibility for their actions and everything is a disorganized mess. I'm positive my package will be thrown out upon arrival. Don't go here. read more

This is the second review that I have ever written, but I feel compelled to do so because of the exceptional service that I received from Lindsey, the manager. My father told me that this was the best copying place in Pasadena. He was an artist, and very discriminating in his search to perfectly match a damaged patch of his antique wallpaper. After a sleepless night, trying to figure out how to make a booklet on Windows for my father's memorial service, and a limited amount of time, my sister suggested that I go to the UPS store where Lindsey had helped my dad. Once I arrived and told Lindsey who I was, she immediately remembered my dad and had me sit down as she began to design the booklet. Before I knew it, she was printing out pages! The booklet for the service she helped me create was monumental. It was a very stressful and emotional time for me, but Lindsey took it all in stride and focused on creating a beautiful memorial booklet.This restored my faith in humanity for the second time within a very short time frame.. Bad Mistake. I took one item to the UPS Store on Lake Avenue in Pasadena on 9/2/15 to be packed by UPS and shipped to my sister in Washington State. I chose that location based on Yelp reviews. BIG mistake. This package arrived on schedule along with a second package with an identical shipping label. My sister was out of town and did not open the packages for several days. When she did she was puzzled by the contents of the second package and discovered another shipping label inside the box with a ship-to address in Illinois. No tracking information was available on line for this package since the bar code was never scanned. The package contained items of some value and I am sure the intended recipient was quite anxious about its whereabouts. There was absolutely no way for the sender of this package or UPS to know what had become of it. When I contacted the UPS Store in Pasadena to let them know about this problem, they arranged to have the package picked up from my sister in Washington and sent on its way to Illinois. Their explanation for the error was that "it must have been a busy day." I made several attempts to contact the sender and recipient of this package at the number on the shipping label to let them know why their package had been opened and that the contents were intact, but the phone number on the shipping label was incorrect. I used this UPS Store this afternoon, today with great satisfaction. Lindsey, the store manager was a breathe of fresh air. She was/is AMAZING!!! Her customer service was/is letter perfect. Not only did she assist me with my copy job, she literally had a smile the entire time. I may be dating myself, but this was 'very old school customer service', the amount of personal attention she doled out.
