There is great service here. I got here at 4:50pm to ship a very important visa document, thinking the cutoff was at 5pm. It was actually at 4:15, but the young woman working there called the delivery contact and he was there within five minutes and took my parcel to deliver it overnight. It saved my life. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I have needed last-minute print-outs multiple times and they are always ready within minutes. I work in design, so I have had to pack and ship tiles, floor boards, and other unusually sized or heavy material samples to clients ..... and the staff can make a box for ANYTHING! I have never been disappointed at the Coronado UPS store. I have to admit that I go when they are not busy. Customers can get very "testy" when waiting for a service they have no control over. I always make sure I have the necessary information "in hand" so that the line behind me does not get impatient. This is not a service that can be rushed as the staff is trying to get all of the shipping information correct. I have NEVER felt overcharged. I have never felt that the staff was rude...funny sometimes, but never rude. Maybe I am more patient than others, but for goodness sakes people...don't go in to have something shipped when you are on a time schedule...allow yourself time. Derik at the UPS store in Coronado (by Vons) has helped me out many times. He easily showed me how to do things I had no idea how to do, but needed done asap, like electronic legal document signing and sending. And he is constantly helping out members of his community. I've always had a positive experience in this location. Derik has always been friendly and helpful to me. I have also never witnessed any such behaviors mentioned in other reviews. My very first experience was when I was sending something that had a prepaid return UPS label. Derik helped me to be sure I had it done correctly and accepted the package for shipment. Easy. I've been back several times for other needs. This is a UPS store (not Fedex) and the rates are set by UPS, and they handle the carriage of packages. If you ship something, you must know that it can be damaged en route. It has nothing to do with the location you sent a package from. read more

This little store was a BIG help. Friendly, Kind, quick, easy. I walked in with a dress I needed to return and no label (needed to be printed) no box no tape and the employee make it all happen in under 5 min and paying was super easy. Love coming here to ship out all my packages. Also, I though my shipping label was for UPS but in fact it was for USPS...lol The employee there said he'd give it to the mailman for me. JACKPOT!!! I am so impressed with the customer service I receive every time I step in this store. They are so efficient, friendly, helpful, it's so refreshing. They could be swamped with customers and they look at your package and say put it right here scan it and say....you're all set! They ask the right questions to, is it fragile, how expensive is the package and when do you need it to it's destination? Oh and if you need maybe some tape or misc packing material they GIVE it to you unlike our post office where they say, no we don't have any but you can purchase it...it's right behind you on the shelf....ugghhh, anyway, love the people and the service, they both are outstanding! read more

Convenient but pricey. Just cost me $4.25 to print 8 pages at last minute. I also noticed that there were other people still logged in on the web browser when I signed on. It would be nice if the employees would clear the cache between users but, that's why I always change my password after using public computers. Boy were the reviews about Derek right (though he told me his name was David, it's obviously the same guy). Very rude, condescending, unprofessional and worst of all aggressive. He implied if I wasn't with my 4 year old he'd rough me up. This "man" is quite clearly unhappy working here and takes it out on his customers. I think he gets pleasure out of his incompetence as he kept arguing with me as I was already outside store. He also was yelling to give me his card so there's clearly no repercussions for his behavior. As a reply to the "business owner" reply: I'm sure "Derik" doesn't see the irony in him saying he didn't say his name was "David" as he posts under the name of "Sam". Since he wants to keep the arguing going (just like he did yesterday) I'll bite one more time even though he has already taken far more of my time than a person like him deserves. I peaked around a corner to see if they had an exit in back as we parked in the back parking lot and several adjoining businesses do (Rite Aid next door). This "man" screams "you can't go back there!!!" I explained I was just looking and didn't step back there. He continues to yell that I can't go back there and I politely explain that his behavior wasn't very appropriate for a customer service position. That's when he got aggressive. Bringing my 4 year old into the conversation. I picked my package up and left as he continued to yell at us as we were leaving and indeed when we were outside store. He even yelled at me to come back into the store (guessing to continue argument?), which I ignored and kept walking. He clearly had and has no concern for any repercussions as a result of his terrible demeanor. I get it. Sometimes ignorant people judge a person by the way they are dressed/look. read more

Had wonderful customer service at this location. Sam and Ezra were very welcoming and professional. I send my packages through ups cause they are a lot quicker via lines & overall shipping times so it doesn't matter which ups i go to but i was pleasantly surprised by how nice they were and efficient-while i was printing off my info they were constantly working- not just hanging out which a lot of places do when they aren't pack. 10/10 professionalism & communication read more

I went here to send off a book I rented from Amazon. I do this roughly once a month but never with an experience such as this one. I'm not sure if the guy was racist or just plain rude. I don't remember his name but his name tag said notary on it. First he's irritated because I ask how much a box was since there aren't any prices displayed. Then he is helping me an I guess a regular walked in and he WALKS away from me and my transaction to help him. It's not like I was searching for something I was trying to pay and he walked away and fully assisted this man gave him a receipt and all. When he returned I politely told him working in customer service you help who is there first and who you are currently helping. He kept saying excuse me as if he couldn't hear me. I even had to ask him twice for my receipt to havey own proof that I actually returned the book if there was any issues he sighed as if I was asking for something outrageous. First and last time I'll go to that store!!! read more

There are endless awful ways they ruin your mail receiving and sending. I have always had to use mailbox services because my job requires I have a public address that I prefer not be my home. I went in here and was assigned a box, 402. I was not given a front door key because they ran out. Within a week a package had been lost, which I hoped maybe got lost in the forwarding. No problem. Then I began receiving A LOT of another person's mail and packages. Now I'm concerned. If not for me returning them, they would not receive their mail and likewise with mine that they were picking up. I bring it to the attention of the staff. They sold the mailbox to two people. They want to just move mine to another box. "Sure just forward all your mail." I tell them how much work that is and how much I would almost rather share the box than that. They say they will put my mail in 108 without me forwarding. Still no front door key. Flash forward a few months. Now I've completely stopped getting mail but another gentleman is getting mail in this box. They said they asked me to renew and I declined. Now they've resorted to just lying. I ask them to forward my mail and provide an address, which is supposedly a service for box holders. Nope. I'm instructed to forward my mail through USPS. I tell them they won't do that. Then I'm instructed to call every institution that sends me mail in order to forward. They have also not held any of my mail. I have no idea what I'm missing. This place is an absolute NIGHTMARE read more

I've gone to this store many times but after reading all of the reviews and considering my last visit, I would like to add my two cents. I can say that I have never had a negative experience in the 7 years I have been going to this store. I really can't understand all of the negative comments. I have always found what I was looking for and the staff has been courteous and helpful. My last visit was exceptional. The store manager, Derek, helped me scan SEVERAL documents. He was polite and patient, despite my numerous questions and concerns. AFTER I scanned everything I needed to, I realized the cost was WAAAY more than I could afford, or even had in my wallet ($2 per PAGE). He didn't have to do this, but he reduced the price considerably. I am very grateful for his kind gesture. As I said before, all of my experiences at this store have been positive and this store deserves your business. read more

Worst customer service ever. Derick finds something to hassle me about literally every time I go in there. Here are some tips if you have to go here: 1. If you need a small box, buy it next door at Rite Aid where it costs half as much. 2. If your a box looks new, they will charge you for it unless you specifically tell them that you did not buy it there. This has happened to me more than once. So speak up and check your receipt. 3. Sometimes they make a huge deal about having an ID to drop a package off. Other times they don't ask at all. This is a perfect example of how they can be inconsistent and petty just to be petty. If they give you a hard time, The Postal Annex across the street takes packages or go to Coronado Mail & Parcel Center at 1033 B Ave. They're friendly and don't overcharge for everything-in fact, they've found an old box laying around for me to use every time I've needed one. 4. If you have kids, don't let them step foot in here. My toddler was playing with a bag of peanuts next to me while I wrote an address. I was watching her and knew she didn't do anything wrong, but when I got up to the counter, Derick informed me that she "ruined" the bag. I told him that if she spilled one peanut, I would buy the whole bag. It was perfectly fine, but of course he didn't apologize. I could give other examples of how ridiculous he's been to my child and to other families. In fact, I'd go as far as saying that I've NEVER seen anyone have such an irrational reaction to children and their healthy sense of curiosity. I've found this place to be the least family (and customer) friendly business on the island. I honestly don't know how this store is still in business. read more

The UPS Store Coronado staff provide exemplary customer service ALWAYS!!! BIG shout out to Ezra and Derrick!!! I've been renting a mailbox from The UPS Store for years and use it as my mailing address because I make most of my purchases online. I am NEVER home to receive my deliveries/shipments, so I got smart and opened up an account with The UPS Store and rent a mailbox to use as my mailing address due to the nationwide problem with people stealing deliveries of packages and boxes left at your doorstep. This is the perfect solution! All my online orders are delivered to The UPS Store and the staff signs for the deliveries and holds onto them until I can pick them up! They also send me an email notification anytime I receive a delivery, too! This definitely gives me the peace of mind that I will receive EVERY item that I have purchased online and won't have to worry about anything getting stolen! I would also give this zero stars if it were an option. I recently sent a package through the UPS Store using U.S. mail and asked for a paper label to put over the tape so I could write the To: address. The girl behind the counter handed me a sharpie and insisted I write over the tape rather than use a paper label. I told her it wouldn't work because it was tape. She insisted it would work and rather than get in an argument with her I thought, maybe she knows something about this magical tape that I don't. Sure enough the package came back with the To: address smudged off and the From: address, which was written on the cardboard box and not a piece of clear tape, still in tact. The post office was not able to deliver the package because the To: address written in sharpie, rubbed off the tape. I brought it to the employee's attention and they said it was my fault and they would not refund my money or send it again for free. I called the manager Dereck the next day and he agreed they should refund my money and assured me he would have it resolved for me Monday morning. When I went in to pick up my packages and see what they would do about the problem, the owner insisted it was my fault and that I should have demanded that the girl give me a paper label in the first place. After arguing with him for a minute he finally gave in and refunded my $7, but not without insisting one more time that it was my fault. I really could care less about the $7. What bothers me is that they wont take responsibility for their employees. I have a P.O. Box at this location, I ship things through this store constantly, yet they are willing to lose a customer and get yet another bad yelp review over $7? Stupid read more

I go in here at least once a week (mostly to return Amazon packages :)) and the service team is always fast and friendly. I've used their printing, faxing and mailing services and never have had to wait more than a couple of minutes to be helped. Super convenient location for Coronado residents. read more

I am so incensed at this store right now, but I'll try to keep this civil. They tried to charge me to PICK UP a package that I had diverted there via MyUPS!!! I was expecting a package from UPS. Being in the Military, when I am home, I usually work from 7:30-4:00 every weekday. I live in a small gated complex with no office or other means for UPS to enter without being let in, so I'm never home at 10 in the morning when they try to deliver. I paid the $5 extra to have the package diverted to the UPS store in Coronado, since it's on my way home from work. When I arrived and expected to show my ID and pick up my package, I was shocked for the clerk to tell me that they "didn't participate" in the MyUPS service and they CHARGE people to pick up their packages. WTF?!? I spent 20 minutes on the phone with UPS and was finally given the number for the Mail Boxes ETC./The UPS Store customer service line, which was luckily open for another 10 minutes when I called. I spent another 15 minutes on hold there before the agent finally had to call the store herself to have them release my package. The phone was answered by "Derek" the assistant manager who told the rep "I just work here" and made some other complaints that they (the customer service rep) had to talk to the store owner. Finally, after 45 minutes waiting at the store "Derek", the assistant manager who "just works there" grudgingly gave me my package. The service at this store is absolutely abysmal and the owner doesn't deserve to have a UPS franchise. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

I shipped items internationally at a cost of $745 and never received a tracking notice. After about 3 days I received a text asking for my name and address. I thought this was put on the shipping paperwork. I had to call at a cost of who knows what because I do not speak the local language. The agent on the phone who was extremely helpful fixed the situation. We shall see about that, but hopeful. The only good thing about the Coronado office is the fellow who helped took the heavy box out of my car. Other than that I would not use them again. read more
