My visits in the past week have been very good. The front window staff has been very great at customer service. Of note is today's visit with Jocelyn as my Window Staff. She was very knowledgeable and she even reassured me that the postage that I affixed to my mailing item could be credited towards my final balance; I added Certified and Return Receipt. She was very good about being knowledgeable about the postal products and it was a wonderful experience. I will continue to come to this location. I love my local post office. I mean, what's not to love? They have free priority mail boxes and labels, postage, envelopes and tape for purchase, they're always here for you, and they've been here since waaayy before I was born. There is never a problem with parking, lines, employees or other customers. But then again, I almost always buy my postage online, and I usually just drop my packages off. In December, when my ankle was fractured, I was hobbling up the ramp, and not one, but TWO, nice people offered to hold the door and carry my package in! It's a very small town, homey post office, with p.o. boxes available for rent, drop off boxes inside, and drive through 1st class mail drop off boxes on the side of the building. Graciela's Taco Shop, Hans and Harry's, Jibaritos de Isla, Starbucks, KFC, and Park Wellness Center all live in this same shopping center, so, it's a nice bonus to get some tasty bites and healing while sending letters and goodies to grandma. Extra bonus points: Walk across the street and you will discover the Rohr Park/Bonita Golf Course Trail. read more

I just want to acknowledge the clerk named Mylene who attended me at the Bonita Post Office on 11/07/23. She was super quick, professional in her attitude, calm under pressure (since the lobby was full and she was by herself), courteous, and smiled with everyone she helped before me. She made me feel like a valued customer and I look forward to Mylene assisting me again. On a side note, i do have a complaint. The male supervisor would come out and see the long line and he did not jump in to help Mylene. I went here for the first time in 10 years last week. I get there and there is a huge line like its Xmas season or Tax Day. There is only one person helping people. Then there is a lady ranting and raving that they lost all her packages. No Scans at all and obviously the Post office cant help her. She said she was out hundreds of dollars. Someone else in line says they've had issues at this post office as well. I think nothing of it and ship my package - What happens of course? It was never scanned. Now it looks lost and I'm out about $50 dollars including the shipping costs. Im killing myself that I didn't buy the insurance. I will updated if the package is found. read more

Adrienne is wonderful and helpful! I very much enjoyed my short experience at this location. I had to ship out a package and Adrienne was kind enough to let me know which envelope is the right one to use in my situation. Adrienne also informed me that I can go on the website for usps and get free supplies if I will be doing anymore shipping in the future-- which I will with my new poshmark hobby :) Also the service is quick ! I own a small eBay business & mail packages almost daily from this Bonita post office. The supervisor and an asian young male are extremely rude & condescending. I believe they damaged my package intentionally. I spoke to the supervisor after one of my packages was held for over a month in another state. I was inquiring as to why it was held and sent back to me when my eBay buyer did not require a signature. Long story short the manager couldn't figure out a reason why the other state wanted my buyer to pay an additional $12 to pick up the package and didn't even bother to look it up so I got upset. another Clerk figured out that I had put fragile stickers on the box and that required additional payment. Now, they blamed me for putting a fragile sticker on the box but I told them i wasnt aware it required more postage and that I have sent dozens of packages like this in the past. after i told them they should've held my box here in SD if it required more postage for having that sticker on it they became even more rude. all they could say was "oh it happens we don't catch everything, Plus we don't even know if you really did send it through us." Really? look up the tracking do your job! When I threatened to submit a complaint on them they got even more rude and the Asian mail called me crazy. They wanted me to pay an additional $21 to send it back when they should've held the package here. I could've driven back to take off the dang sticker. I ended up resending the package and it arrived damaged!!! This package was double boxed with bubble wrap and a collectible cups were bubble wrapped as well. There's absolutely no way this happened by accident I know one of the employees there crushed it it had to have been stomped on for it to end up like this. I can't believe evil people like this exist in this world. i'm sure there's no way I can prove this so I'm putting them on blast here. Added pictures of the two boxes that were squashed intentionally. 4 out if 6 vintage cups were broken / completely damaged even though they were packaged with so much care. read more

The Filipina older older lady is so rude and has a snobby attitude, tries to make you look stupid. All I wanted to do is return a package and she got mad bc I didn't take off the old tracking number. In my defense the time before the guy just taped it on top, which btw he's the only nice employee. He's in his 20's maybe early 30's and gets the job done while being super helpful. I get they probably deal with a lot of weirdos all day but c'mon if Im nice at least be a decent human being. I will get their names next time and update this review. read more

I honestly did not mind the wait at all and they did a great job making sure people were maintaining their distance however the staff up front are not helpful at all. I didnt have my label printed because usually at any post office they have a printer and the guy up front told me they did not have any printing service? At a post office?!? What? So I leave and print it out myself at Kinkos and come back another day. I go up front and ask them to tape the label and guess what?! The same guy says they dont have any shipping tape! Unbelievable. At a USPS how could you possibly not offer printing services NOR have shipping tape? I only came here because the vendor I purchased from required me to return my packages here but I would not recommend this place to anyone. This USPS office has a good staff especially the approachable man who assisted me in acquiring stamps and placing them properly on my self-addressed return envelope, and the friendly woman who gave me tracking sticker and assured me of the expected delivery date of my package. I apologize for not being able to get their names so I will describe to the best of my knowledge. In this Central Ave., Bonita location, the male employee is an Asian-Filipino man while the woman has a welcoming gesture, neat make-up and hair with volume. I grew up in Bonita and the post office was always right down the street. I use to take the smaller branches for granted but now wish there was one closer to me in downtown San Diego that wasn't so crazy, have grumpy employees who hate their jobs, or didn't have a line wrapping around the building. The Bonita post office is not like that at all. The main lobby opens at 9am and closes at 5pm. All of the people inside are super helpful and always cheerful. There are only long lines if you go during the lunch hour rush. If you just need stamps or to ship something small they have an automated kiosk just inside the doors by the P.O. Boxes. If I still lived in Bonita, this would be the only post office I ever went too! read more

I like this location a lot. The parking lot is one-way along the side of the building, but there is plenty of parking in front and along the one-way area. I have visited here a handful of times, and I'm in and out within 15 minutes tops! Low wait times and the cashiers are always courteous and friendly. I've been coming to this location for about 5 years now. I'm here about once a week. They are the best post office I have been too!I've used 4 different post offices in the area and they are by far the best. One main reason is because the lines are SHORT and quick. Even during Christmas season the lines aren't bad. Which is a huge plus! I mean, who doesn't like short lines at a post office? There are only 3 customers service booths, but I'm totally fine with that. The customer service is on point and I love the friendly demeanor of all the staff. It has a small town feel to it which is pretty cool. They are a little hard to find, but I don't mind because it keeps the lines short. I debated on even reviewing it because I don't want too many people finding it haha! This location is close to several restaurants and businesses. read more

I went to this post office on the 8th of December to mail out Christmas gifts. I boxed it (it didn't look like this when I boxed it) and paid. On the 18th of December I get the box back looking like this, all broken and beat up with extra tape on it. It says it has been returned because they forgot to put the shipping sticker on the box. Now it's not going to make it to its location by Christmas which is fine because the contents inside were broken anyway! Merry Christmas USPS! read more

This Bonita post office is just down the street from the neighborhood in which I grew up. They haven't changed much, other than making a few improvements, and my parents still come here. They still keep it organized and clean. If I'm ever in the area and have mail to drop off, I would purposely come here, after a visit to my parents' home. There is lots of parking and the staff is friendly, quick, and efficient, just as they were when I was growing up. read more

LOVE this post office. Convenient, easy parking and nice people. I live in Paradise Hills but this location is closer to me than the one on Reo Drive. Plus, the Reo Drive one has grumpy aunties that take forever to tend to you when no one else is in line because they are busy gossiping. The Bonita has a very friendly staff who are polite, happy to greet you and offer to help with all your postal needs. Selling on amazon.com and having to send packages out has been a more pleasant experience because I get to go to a good post office like this one. I hope the staff never goes postal. read more

I actually live in Chula Vista, but I like Bonita post office the best. From my place in Rancho Del Rey, there are 2 large post offices, one is on the 3rd st near Chula Vista downtown, and the other in East Lake. They are both large, but it tends to have a long waiting line. Bonita post office is located in the same strip mall as Bikram Yoga, Starbucks coffee, and my daughter's favorite My Kids Clubhouse. So if you live in Rancho Del Rey area, and tired of waiting in line in Chula Vista post office, Bonita is definitely worth a try. read more

A 1st class shipping label for a medium cushioned envelope was created using this post office's own automated shipping station. These idiots returned it to me just because of a very small inaccuracy in THEIR OWN SCALE! They wanted a measly 56 cents more which amounts to 1 ounce more at the most. This is bad business practice plain and simple! An overly motivated postal worker decided to be anal about the weight of a DVD movie which typically only weighs about 4.5 ounces in its case. I might understand it if it was a shipping label created at home using my own scale. The receipt says no refunds on postage purchased using the automated system. I refuse to pay the additional charge and waste gas going back down to the post office. Therefore I refunded the customers purchase and ate the $1.70 spent for the label. The post office's automated shipping stations in general are a joke. They're either inaccurate or broken with an out of order sign on them. Some post offices have removed them all together which means going back to waiting in long lines defeating the purpose of the machines to begin with. Add me to the list of people that hate the post office but not just because of the long lines. I'll never ship another package using the Bonita, CA post office and maybe not at any post office. I'd rather pay more to use Fedex. MEMO TO USPS: Don't blame all your loss of revenue, closing down of various locations, and no weekend mail delivery on the email age. Look in the mirror! I came here irritated because I just came from the Eastlake post office where only one person was working and had a long line and slow workers. I got here and there was only a handful of people in line, but two people working but they were fast and efficient. Very friendly and double checked each of my packages before I took off.
