I have experienced multiple instances of packages not being available in my PO Box when expected, only for them to be found later after I reported them missing. No explanation was ever provided as to where the packages were located. Customer service has also been frustrating. On more than one occasion, I was told to return later, and most recently I was asked to come back at a specific time only to find the employee was on break. I had a very disappointing experience at this post office. When I arrived, there was already a long line. As someone who is new to shipping items, I was unaware that a specific mailing bag was required. After the employee had already printed my shipping label, she informed me that I needed to use a different bag. I noticed the bags were located only a few steps away and asked if I could quickly grab one since my label had already been printed. Although she initially said yes, she then told me I would have to get back in line. When I explained that the bags were right there and that the label had already been printed, she responded in a rude manner and told me to "hurry up and grab it." Throughout the interaction, she also made unnecessary comments such as, "People come to the post office not knowing what to do." I understand that employees deal with many customers, but there is no reason to be disrespectful to someone who is simply trying to learn the process. It has: A giant lobby, open after hours with 3 large mail/package drop slots inside Drive-through letter and small envelope drop boxes outside Automated do it yourself postage meters Well stocked supplies Lots of parking Unlike many of the reviewers here, I have had no unpleasant interactions with the postal workers. My boyfriend and I recently moved to Otay Ranch-Chula Vista from Mira Mesa and we glad to find a USPS near us. Compared to the one in Mira Mesa, I recommend this one 100%!! I understand what the negative reviews are about, but as long as you are patient and are willing to wait because they do get busy at certain hours of the day (which btw is ALL post office). I went today yo drop off a package and to confirm my change of address and the lady that helped me was super nice and it seems like the rest of the front desk were nice as well. I've been waiting for my Amazon packages to be delivered from this awful carrier for two weeks one of those packages being for my daughters nutrient deficiency which can't be bought over the counter. They did a "first attempt no safe location available". We have Amazon lockers... usps has parcel lockers at the mailboxes.... My front door is not guarded by a dragon... 9/26/23 There was a woman, I didn't catch her name, she was older and I think her name was Mariela or something like that. Her two interactions with two customers were really concerning. 1. A woman came in with a Shein package to return and she was confused needing to pull her her QR code. She was clearly seeking assistance and the postal worker told her "Well maybe if you actually read the directions you would know how to do it" with an obvious attitude. Extremely off putting. 2. There was a mom in there with 2 young kids that was trying to go as fast as she could to get everything packed and situated. The worker kept shaking her head and rolling her eyes. Sis was rude and its not okay to treat people like that. That behavior was off-putting especially because she then shifted to trashing the young man that was handing out packages because she assumed he was doing something that the wasn't supposed to do. If he's a junior person still learning and that's rhe example that he has to go off of, its not doing the general public any favors. She is not at all nice, she interrupts, seems to be in a rush, has no patience for customers who dont speak great english. I went on January 1st not expecting the best experience so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I have been here many times before to ship out packages, both by going up to the workers to get it scanned and putting it directly into the chute. It is reassuring to watch my packages get scanned right in front of me but sometimes it is not worth waiting in line for, leading me to opt to just leaving it in the chute. It is not a surprise that there was no one working on the first but I did look up their hours and it said the usual "holidays may affect these hours." I took my chances and still drove over there. At first the entrance door was locked but then I tried the exit door which was unlocked. Upon trying to open the chute, it was not opening. I look over at the other one they have and it has a sign saying "not in order." Therefore, I had to drive to another USPS. It was the same deal over there where I entered through the exit door and there were no workers but at least I was able to drop my package off in their chute. Waste of time. read more

This is the worst post office to go to in the area. Highest rate of lost packages. Most of the workers are cranky and hate their jobs. Absolute garbage customer service when this is a government business to serve people & fulfill their shipment needs. Bonita is much more helpful and only a few miles away, would highly recommend using them instead. Also, I was almost scammed by one of the cashiers trying to charge me more than the needed rate. I'm trying to get resolution for two lost packages and keep getting the run around. I opened claims online and they get closed without any resolution. When you call they tell you to go speak to the local post master. Manager at this office is rude and has zero customer service skills. One package has been lost since last July and was international. Postage was just under $100. No resolution!!! Second package I sent with pre-paid postage label and handed to local clerk. She handed me receipt and two days later the package was delivered back to me. I drive it to the post office again and now they cannot locate it. Tracking shows it was delivered to MY HOUSE. With Covid now expect a line out the door because of all the social distancing rules. The turn out of here is funky with a winding driveway out. An absolute disaster for a post office. The mail carrier on my route is extremely busy and made up some stories about the conflict with my son, and claimed that his safety was in danger so that he would not pick up from my place and all the managers decided to side with him. I would never hear my story and they was elevated And I was told that I would be called back and no one ever called us. We are not receiving mail at our door and we're not getting the mail picked up and there is no resolution. Worst post office ever! I have a PO Box here and at least 40% of the mail is lost. I receive a notification daily from USPS with scanned copies of the mail that's coming in for me, well almost half never make it to my box. I spoke with an employee and he dismissed me saying I had to read the disclaimer at the bottom of the notification email indicating that mail could take up to one week to arrive. Well, I had read the fine print I only inquire after 10 days. They've lost important mail from state agencies. I also get a lot of mail from the prior user of the box, and even though I cross out the names and wrote "not at this address, return to sender" the post office puts it right back in my box. This is seriously the worst federal entity ever. I can't imagine getting any worker. read more

I absolutely loath this place and the people who work here. Worst customer service ever, always. I have a p o Box here and continue to have non-stop issues with them not giving me a key to be able to pick a box that might come in. Which is rarely ever. But when they do I'm constantly having to take time off of work to pick up a package they could have put a key in my box to get from the larger location. Wait in a very long line because they choose to not allow customers who have boxes to go up to a window that used to be for pickups specifically you have to wait in line with others who are mailing things out which typically only has one worker and another randomly coming back. It is obnoxious to say the least how they have it set up and I think it is solely to mess with people so they get entertained. I want to pay extra for this "special treatment" as the worker said to me. My husband works out of town a lot and I work from 6-6 daily so please tell me how me paying close to $100 a year and requesting for them to stop making me go into their line and giving me a key for a box...even if it's days after the package arrived, once a box is free please place my items in one for me to obtain. Why is this not able to be accomplished? What is wrong with people and their customer service skills not being taught before they take a job? Disgusted by these people. Wow! Unlike the other reviewer, I can't agree with many of her concerns... But everyone is entitles to their opinions, right? Although, today's shipping options are abundant (UPS & FedEx) and convenient, I wanted to give the good old boy & girl's in blue my business for this day. Plus, in today's economy USPS seems to have the best & competitive shipping prices. On this day, I came to drop off a simple 'Priority Mail' package. The office/ store: A smaller location compared to the main office in downtown Chula Vista but they still many of the amenities: P.O. boxes (24-hr access), self-service postage machines, and two service desks. Clean, well kept, and fully stocked with shipping/ packaging supplies. The staff: Four workers were 'visibly' present at the time of my visit: Two at the main desk, one at the smaller counter, and one at the automated machine (primarily the greeter that helped move people in the right direction). They were all professional, knowledgeable (reviewed services available), and not pushy whatsoever (i did not feel rushed). I have to respect these workers for what they do everyday. They are probably underpaid and overworked. They always seem to have a smile on their face "regardless" to how customers feel when they approach the desk. Side note: If you have issues about getting in & out at this location in a timely matter and try to anticipate the worse. I recommend planning ahead and consider others may or may not have a clue on what they want to do. Practice patience. They provided the services I needed in a professional manner I expect from any government office. Thank you, Eastlake station... Great job! read more

I will try to avoid the USPS in general at all costs. Foolishly paid 19.99 for overnight delivery using their express system. After paying with credit card, the directions state to deposit your package in the bin. No signs indicate you must get a stamp from an employee saying that it was received. The next day my package wasn't delivered. So I stood in line for 30 minutes to find out why. It had never been scanned so therefore it couldn't be tracked. Sorry was all she could say. Fortunately the package wasn't lost but delivered 48 hours later. It was never scanned at Eastlake so I went In today to request the $100 guarantee if not delivered within 24 hours. I waited in line approximately 20 minutes and then waited another 20 minutes while they contacted somebody with more authority to authorize the refund. I never dreamed of what would happen next. The manager came over and basically told me they could not refund me because I didn't get the package receipt signed in the office....what is the point of having the express drop off if that is required? I mentioned he should put a sign there that you need to get a stamp from the employee for the guarantee to truly be guarantee. So he was accusing me of defrauding the system, while in fact their guarantee is just a façade for defrauding customers. read more

Horrible experience! I really dislike when people treat me like I'm dumb. My boyfriend sent me a letter through overnight shipping on a Thursday. The USPS guaranteed him that the letter would get to me by Friday at noon and you can guess what happened... The letter wasn't there! We then thought there was a delay so on Saturday I went to check the mail again and the letter was STILL not there. On Tuesday morning (Monday was MLK day) it was STILL not there. My boyfriend went to the Cypress, CA USPS and they told him that I needed to go to my USPS to find out what happened because the letter was supposedly delivered. On Wednesday after I got the tracking number and the mailman's scanner ID, I went to the post office to file a complaint. I got told to write both of the numbers down and they were going to check. Again they said they delivered it. I told them I didn't get it. I kept being asked "are you sure? Maybe it got delivered to your house." I'm 100 freaking percent sure! I stayed at home all day Friday AND Saturday so I would had known if the letter was delivered at my own house. The man then told me that he was going to call the mailman and then call me back telling me what happened. Did I get a call back? No. I didn't get anything, not even a damn text message. On Thursday, a week AFTER the letter was mailed off we get a knock on the door and it was the mailman. He told my family and I that he had given the letter to the WRONG house! You pay for express shipping for this? For the USPS to be careless and drop off urgent letters elsewhere? That's really screwed up. Later on Thursday my boyfriend went back to his USPS to let them know that he needs his express shipping money back since they failed to get the letter to me by Friday at noon. What's their answer? It's MY FAULT! The USPS blamed it on me! Am I the one who delivered to the wrong house? No! The USPS needs to take responsibility for their freaking actions. I've been mailing items there often for over a year now but after this I'm just going to mail stuff through FedEx or UPS. This post office is a joke. I was in the area and had to stop in. The desk clerks are not very friendly or helpful. They give you textbook answers to your questions and/or do not speak good enough English to understand your question. There seems to be a never ending line, and to top things off; there was a car accident in the parking lot and 2 guys were watching it happen and could have stopped it. I tried to file a complaint on the online system, but there was a glitch in the USPS website. So this will have to do. Then again, I really have not need to return.
