Little but mighty! I have visited the shop many times over the years and I have always been impressed with their services. Time is money and they saved me money when they saved me from making trips to the post office and the store when I needed to ship packages, or to copy keys and they even offer notary services at a reasonable price. I've been coming here for over 14 years and over time the main lady has been less and less patient or just plain rude. I have never ever been disrespectful so I don't know if it is just me or it's with everyone. She used to be so so nice and I looked forward to coming here because she was personable and pleasant. Service is ok except for the fact that they cancelled my box without any notification. Of course they have my email, cell, and address, but nobody was courteous enough to tell me that my box needed renewal. Absolutely WORST postal annex i have ever been too- which is quite astonishing since I've never had a bad experience. I just left this place they charge for every little thing, boxes and packing material. Never once have i ever had to pay for anything of that nature at any postal annex- not even in the Bay Area! This gets better folks, i brought in a 14x20 thin picture frame that I needed to have shipped... the associate gets the LARGEST box they have WHICH mind you was the most expensive box. I politely asked why she was using such a large box for a medium sized item. Her rude answer was " well do you want me to ship it in a smaller box unprotected" i cannot tell you how shocked i was by her response i wanted to rip my item off her counter and go to a different location!! I told her well no i want it to be protected i never asked you not to do that? Such a rude store i will not be coming back here! Seriously their such rude crooked people! Lol it gets better it took her 15 minutes to even print out the correct address on the label that i PRE filled out for her. Also the place is a disgusting and gross mess and smells HORRIBLE! $50 spent just to ground ship a item less than 1Lb due to be up charged on the very thing! NEVER come here! This is one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. The lady told me to modify my passport picture and when I did, the other woman looked at me and said I modified it incorrectly. I had no idea what they wanted me to do. So when I told her that I cut it only because she told me to, she gave me a very dirty look and walked away from me. So now the passport agency rejected my picture, and I called to see what they would do for me. They said we're sorry but we cannot help you in any way. Horrible experience, followed up by no service at all. Do not go here. I know I never will again. Especially seeing how many people left one star. read more

Reviews weren't wrong. Came in to drop off DHL package and asked for a confirmation receipt since it was an international package. Very rude lady, coldly told me that they don't do that. Told me to take it to DHL directly if I wanted a receipt and then just walked away. Super rude!! Very unprofessional. read more

Overall, this is your one stop shop for all your mailing needs if you don't want to go directly to a UPS, FedEx, or Post Office. Keep in mind that it will cost more to mail items through a Postal Annex instead of the Post Office, FedEx, etc. The employees are good about giving you the cost to ship your item using each of the mail delivery options. Beware though, if you have anything in a Priority Mail Flat Rate envelope or box, DO NOT ship through the Postal Annex. They charge at least double the standard flat rate. I had a small Priority Mail Flat Rate box which is a standard USPS charge of $8.45 flat rate. They said it would be $18.00. I kindly told them no thank you, I drove to the Post Office and only paid $8.45. Parking can be difficult in the front of the building, with the bagel shop and coffee shop on either side of the Postal Annex. It's best to park on the back side of the building where there is always plenty of parking, as there is an entrance on that side also. read more

I wish I could attach a photo showing the kinds of impersonal, yet rude, all caps messages I get from the nasty owner written on my mail that's not perfectly addressed, (did the sender forget the hash sign on the PO box number? "PLEASE CORRECT IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!") even if it's junk mail. It's amazing to me that this place stays in business. Not to mention that you have to Pay A Quarter Every Time You Get A Package, and A Quarter More for each day that it sits there per package, on top of the year contract that you've paid for, which, by the way, is higher priced than any of the competition. And you have to pay if you forget your key. I've had to start buying rolls of quarters from the bank to get my freaking mail. It's extremely annoying. To be fair, a few of the employees are sweet, and it's what's made it tolerable over the year, however, there is one woman who is just like the owner. These are mean people. Mean and greedy and nitpicky and did I mention Rude? Whoa. Like, no respect. Seriously. It's diss city. The tables are turned and it's like they are the customer, always right, so eff you. And then they take your money. The only reason you'd support this business is if you like to bend over and take it. I don't like being mistreated. I don't like being taken advantage of. Do you? The middle age woman that works here is very rude. I brought a package to return and have never been asked for ID before. This time I was and the woman was very rude and dismissive when I explained I don't have my ID, she walked away and offered 0 alternatives. When I found a picture of my passport she said they would take it. I asked if they accepted Apple Pay when I first entered the store and they said yes. After the younger gentlemen helping me tried multiple devices and could not get the Apple Pay to work the woman came into the conversation again and said it's not working and again was not helpful and offered 0 suggestions and 0 apologies for wasting my time. She should not work in a place where customer service is a necessary skill. She behaves as if she is doing you a favor and you owe her something. It stinks that the location is so convenient if it wasn't I don't think they would stay in business. read more

You won't believe this... Postal Annex does everything - I mean everything!!! Service: "Resounding", "Full-Service", "Responsive", "Timely" and "Old School" - Professional to the "T". I've had them mail things, package, grab stamps and buy cards BUT would you imagine, they took the wedding vows I gave them and had them put on canvas as a present to a newly married couple? Yep, Mr. Pankaj and his wife won over my heart by recently using their resources to the fullest, processing my request and achieving the ultimate gift of all time - canvas, real frame and ready to hang - style, font or color (canvas color too!) no questions asked. It was, as Mr. Pankaj stated, "an effort" and something he would personally oversee to ensure the quality was perfection - WOW, have not seen that type of service in years! My friends oldest daughter is about to cry emphatically, and will be speechless due to the tireless efforts of Mr. Pankaj and his wife. The worst service I have ever seen in my life. I have been doing business with them for about a year and when my contract expires I am out of there. I cringe every time I think about going to this store. I try to sneak in/out without even having to seen that mean, rude woman that runs the place, Lus I think is her name. I always keep in mind that everyone has a story and we don't know the pain they carry with them, but goodness at least try to be nice to your customers. When someone is there that she likes, she is all sugar, but to the unknown people or anyone that may have an issue to solve, she is just rude and condescending to no end. The owner is the same type. These people are only on business because of their location, definitely not because of the service they provide to those who keep them "in business". I have actually thought about writing a letter to the franchise to complaint because it is just too much. If you can help it, stay away from this headache place. I went in to take a passport photo. The service wasn't bad but when I went to my appointment to get my passport they said I had to get a new photo. They took a picture up too close. I had even asked them if the photo was good enough since I needed my passport to be expedited. I had to go get a picture taken again. I wasted time and money. read more

I've been coming to this location for years. Never had a problem with service. Does get rather busy and sometimes they only have one employee juggling the needs of a lot of customers. My thing is just be patient and they'll take care of you. If they seem short or curt it's because it's busy. It's not personal. Had to ship some fairly large items today and they were extremely helpful. They actually cut down a box that my items were in thereby saving weight. Awesome. The service here is very poor and they charge you to pick up your packages if you have a mailbox with them. They also charge extra if you don't pick up your package within 48 hours. The staff is rude and so are the owners. Not impressed by this location at all. I will be moving my box to another location when the contract is up. read more

Good for shipping, terrible for notary service. We went to their facility to have two notarized signatures for a marriage license in Florida. We gave the lady the required document for her to read by the company to follow the step by step procedure. She proceeds to do everything, but did not stamp the actual license. When we asked her why not, she said she was unable to. In short, we wasted $20 on getting a document improperly stamped and have to redo it over. Don't make the mistake we did, and go to someone who is truly qualified to do it. We'll be going to our attorneys office tomorrow do have it done right. read more

This is where I've always come to bring my packages. For several years this is where I've come to do shipping business. Today I came in to ship a small box, smaller than a shoebox. I didn't have any tape and I was hoping the guy could tape it up for me. The guy told me he was going to charge me 50 cents to put tape on the box. A small piece of tape 50 cents. Fine, but I didn't have any cash on me today. He handed me the box and told me to come back when I had enough money to buy a small piece of tape. I think I'll just go somewhere else from now on. **Update*** I went a few miles away to another PA. The lady smiled and said, "no problem" and sealed the box with about $.00005 worth of tape. That's where I'll do business from now on. Go to the PA at 750 Otay Lakes if you want good service. This place sucks. read more

As other reviewers have documented here, this place sucks big time when it comes to "service"--which is what these places are suppose to "sell". I mean, service is suppose to be their bread and butter... Not this place! It seems to be rudeness central and grump city! What can you say about a "business" that is suppose to provide service and charges $.25 for a UPS dropoff RECEIPT!!!! Yep! They tried to charge me a quarter for a receipt! Oh, you can bet that I walked out. They will not be getting a cent from me in the future... I mean, where do these people come from. Hopefully, not from this planet! Let's think about this. A customer is dropping off a UPS package at an AUTHORIZED UPS SERVICE CENTER and this particular Postal Annex is not providing a customer receipt as a complimentary service (like virtually any other business would). Now, I understand that "paper" is expensive these days, what isn't. But electricity, paper, light bulbs, salaries, etc. ARE A COST OF DOING BUSINESS! That is why these places get to deduct these expenses from there income/profit on there US Tax Returns!
