Slightly above average, but overall pretty mediocre. I wish Yelp offered a 3.5 star rating, because that's the rating I feel this restaurant deserves. I think the reason The Toasted Yolk is so popular is because it is one of the only sit-down breakfast places in the area. In the times I've gone, I've found: 1. Service is 100% dependent on your waiter. Not a lot of consistency here. I've had excellent service and also terrible service. This can make or break the overall dining experience. 2. Expensive. This place is not cheap - the average cost of a breakfast entree (think omelette, scramble, etc.) is roughly $16 before tax and tip. For the price, they only include a side choice of english muffin or biscuit - toast is an upcharge (I've never experienced this in any breakfast restaurant before, and found it cheap of them + bizarre). 3. The food is good if you know what to order. I've made the mistake of ordering "The Toasted Yolk" signature meal, which was awful. The hashbrown casserole is also very bad and was served to me cold. However, I've also ordered the vegetarian scramble which is delicious. My husband always goes for the Brisket Tacos, which he says are consistently good. The churro donuts are fantastic as well. I don't think I'd go here nearly as much if I had more options in the area, but it is an overall decent place to grab a sit-down breakfast.

Really great place to go to for your typical type of breakfast and brunch food! The service is awesome and we didn't have to wait when we went in for Saturday lunch. Besides having your typical breakfast staples, they also have a seasonal menu with some creative items! I got the strawberry pico pollo pancakes which reminded me of a mix of strawberry pancakes and tacos and also chicken and waffles. I was personally a big fan of this dish because I love combining savory and sweet. But I can see others not really liking it if they don't like this combo because the sweetness of the pancakes themselves with the red onion can be a bit weird. I was also a big fan of the portion sizes. Toasted yolk will get you real full, especially of you order the French toast.

My husband and I have been trying a few different breakfast places as of late. Now, we tried this one when it first opened, and was not that happy with it, but we chalked it up to "being new..and still working out kinks". Sad to say, it has not improved! Now, we were going to use the waitlist online, but found out, it was less then 5 min, we did not. We got there after 8am on a Sunday, and was shocked to find, no line, and got seated right away. There was maybe like 5 other tables that were occupied at that time, which was surprising. The strangest thing was this busser guy standing against the windows on the left side like a statue, and just looking out at the dinning room. It seemed very creepy! LOL. Come to find out after we sat, and a table left, he was the bus boy, and went over and cleaned off the plates and wiped down the table, so fast, it was like watching the ball person at a tennis match, catching all the stray balls on the court. And, after the table was clean, he went back into the "still position" (like a ball person) against the window again. LOL Our waitress was very spry for early Sunday morning. We joked with her, as we saw the alcohol drinks on the menu, that we wish we could get one of these right now. She said "You can order one of those if you like". Ummm....we said, "No, we can't..it is Sunday and can't serve alcohol until 10am on Sunday (as we have experienced at other restaurants before)". She just laughed it off. We stuck to our coffees and waters. Now, my husband, LOVES his breakfast burritos (swear, he has tried one at any breakfast place we go)! So, he opted for it here. He asked the waitress, "Is it big?'. She replied, "Yes, it has 4 eggs in it" (*menu says 3 eggs). She asked if he wanted hash browns with that, he said "yes". Not realizing until it arrived, the "hash browns" was actually like a "hashbrown casserole" type thing. Now, he was also disspointed in the size of the burrito (see pic). It was not that big, and had this queso type sauce mixed with red sauce. It did have sausage it, but could barely taste it. I had a bite, and mostly egg and onion flavor. Now, I have seen at last few places I have been, a "Country Fried Steak", and like going to Italian places (and eating the Chicken Parm), this is usually a good test for a breakfast place on frying the steak and also the gravy. In this case, they both failed! Most place, at least the gravy was good, but this one did not have much taste at all. Then, the most sad, steak itself! Now, where most restaurants fail is the breading, and this one did, and just cutting into it (*which, by the way, would have been better with a steak knife, not just a butter knife). The breading just came right off, and tasted it by itself, and again, not much flavor. But, was dissappointed me the most, was the steak was over cooked and very tough! Now, if the reasons above was not bad enough, the waitress was hard to track down to get coffee refills. But, when I did, asked her if I could could just a get side of Sourdough toast. Five minutes later, I got a small plate with, what I determined, was wheat toast. It looked nice and toasted, but not what I wanted. She took it away, and brought out, what I think was just white bread (not sourdough), and worst part of all,,,the two pieces of bread was buttered and very soft...so soft I could fold it in half. There was not "toast" to it at all! It was not worth trying to track her down again, and trying again. I was now done. Sorry, Toasted Yolk, I will not be back! :(

I have been to Toasted Yolk in College Station numerous times and have been craving it for a while so I went to the Cedar Park location. Wasn't too busy on a Thursday morning, which meant I was seated right away. I had to get the churro donuts and the classic Eggs Benedict. Those are my go-to dishes here so didn't want to change that up. Great breakfast!!

Woah baby, that line! We were so excited to get a breakfast/brunch place built right by us and apparently so was everyone else. Visited the Toasted Yolk very early on and the prices were a major slap in the face. Portions are decent but I'd almost expect more with the cost being so high. I had the eggs Benedict and they were alright. I've had better. The hash brown casserole is SO good. Service, I won't judge because we went so early on and I know the staff was still adjusting. Parking is a madhouse but I think everyone just fights for the closest spot. Restaurant is maintained and pleasant. The owner comes by and makes sure everything is good. A very kind man and I appreciate that he does this. I hope to go back for lunch and be pleasantly surprised.

It is exciting to have another breakfast option in the Cedar Park / Leander area. The pancakes were light and fluffy! The grits were delicious and definitely my favorite part of the meal. Photos of the meal and the fun tea presentation included. Everything was so fresh and everyone was friendly.

When my favorite nephew comes to town, we like to indulge his "try a new place" itch and the recently opened Toasted Yolk Cedar Park made the perfect brunch option for our family group. I joined the wait list online via web browser https://book.w8li.st/waitlist/the-toasted-yolk-cafecedar-park and we made our way out about 3 miles northwest of Brushy Creek Park on Parmer Lane (which becomes Ronald Reagan Blvd. in this part of Wilco). Despite being open for just a couple of weeks, the place was packed at 10:30a on a Sunday. Every available waiting seat in the small hostess area and outside the door was full. Luckily, our party's reservation came up immediately and we got straight to our table. Upon entry, we noticed the cute hand-painted artwork by Deanna Frye around the room and the full bar at the back of the open-concept dining area. Their motto is "It's never too early to get TOASTED," so if day drinking is your thing, do as thou wilt (within reason). The mimosa and spiked coffee drink menus are extensive; beer & wines, more limited. We had the "gourmet" coffee, which was just fine and served in a cute branded mug available for purchase. The breakfast food menu includes decadent pastries like churro donuts & waffles, as well as the usual egg-focused options like omelets, scrambles, and poached eggs Benedict variations that they call "Arnolds". For the sides, you have cheese grits and loaded hash browns, or fresh fruit. Meats include sausage patties, links, including turkey or chicken options, and applewood bacon. The lunch menu adds an assortment of sandwiches, soups, and salads to the mix. I feel like anyone with diet restrictions could find something to enjoy from the list. We ordered an assortment of offerings and all liked our food. Meals did seem a tad expensive to me (around $12-17 per meal, plus $4 each for bottomless coffee), but the portions were large and all ingredients seemed extremely fresh and high-quality. Our total bill for 4 diners before tip was $69, steep for breakfast on a regular basis, but okay for "once and a while" for us. Toasted Yolk reminds me of the many other brunch-themed chains that have been popping up in the last few years around town, albeit with a boozy, Texas twist. The company was founded in Houston in 2010 and recently ventured into the franchise business, with 27 locations around the South and as many more slated to open in 2023. Pro-tip: Sign up for their email club and get a free order of donuts at your next visit, as well as during your birthday month. A cool "give back" offering: medical professionals in uniform or with valid ID get half-off drinks Mon-Thu from 7a-10a; maybe this is a good perk after coming off the night shift?

A cross between a sports bar and a breakfast bar. The Toasted Yolk has some delicious food. I had the pick 2, a half sandwich with a bowl of soup. I had the BLT and a bowl of chili. I thought both were scrumptious. The place seems pretty popular so there is a wait time. I sat at the bar, and met some new friends which was quite nice. Plus it made the time pass without me even realizing it. There are many drinks available to include coffee, juice, hot cocoa and even cocktails. Stop by the Toasted Yolk for breakfast or lunch and see for yourself what others have already come to know!

Looking for someplace new for Breakfast. So I headed to the Toasted Yolk. It says only an 28 minute drive but it felt longer. On a weekday it was not crowded, actually only two tables besides myself. My server was there to inquire what I'd like to drink. Coffee no cream and he disappeared. He did take a while getting back there, but I did get my coffee. It gave me time to look over their menu and decide what I wanted. I chose the two eggs breakfast deluxe. That included two eggs, breakfast meat, grits, or hash brown casserole, and a biscuit. Once he had that information, he disappeared again. For only a couple of people in the restaurant, the food seem to take a while to come out. It looks like the standard fair that I usually get at a breakfast restaurant. I must admit the bacon was crispy. The eggs were OK. May be a little over cooked for my liking. Grits were normal nothing special. And then there was the biscuits which was decent. The place remind me of an IHOP, or Denny's set up. Nothing fancy. The only thing they have that makes them stand out is alcohol for breakfast. If that's what you like this is the place to go. Once I finished breakfast, I looked around for my server so I can get the check and go. I finally spot him and waved my fingers so he knew I wanted him. The meal was a little over $16 before tip. That's when I decided OK I've been here once and that was enough. Food is OK but definitely pricey and the drive was too long.

***Service*** 4 of us arrived slightly after 2:30pm and they close at 3pm. Our server Tristan did not rush us at all! It was our first time here, the menu is overwhelming and Tristan was every bit of patient with us. This was much appreciated. He helped us by making recommendations and explaining some parts of the menu to us. He was very attentive and had a great sense of humor. Everyone else was very nice. Even the owner Ron stopped by our table to check on us, and we ended up sharing some laughs with him. Service here was great! ***Food*** Everyone enjoyed their food, pancake was huge and amazing! The fried chicken sandwich was delicious, the chicken tortilla soup was good. My omelet was just as I ordered it, the only thing I didn't like was their hash brown /potatoes. Definitely looking forward to trying so many other things on thei ***Bottomline*** I will keep coming back to try out their expansive menu.

I'd say that we are now regulars here. My husband and I love to get their club sandwich and Reuben. We could do without their so so fries, nothing unique about them, so I'd recommend another option of side. Other than that, all was good. I must admit that the kitchen needs to be consistent with the corned beef, the sandwich for the price should be a meaty sandwich. The first time I had it, I barely saw the layered meat. But I loved it so much that I wanted to give them a second chance. It was much better. No complaints on the club sandwich.

Such a clutch breakfast spot! If you can, get on their waitlist asap! We went on a Saturday morning and it was pretty busy, but tables were turning over quickly. With the waitlist, our table was ready when we got there. We ordered the Granola Apple French Toast and different types of eggs Benedict's. I got the Alaskan Arnold and it was so good! I liked that their menu has plenty of drinks and breakfast items to choose from, from shrimp and grits to breakfast tacos to French toasts! We can't wait to go back once we visit Austin again!

Do they serve lunch menu items all day?

Yes, breakfast and lunch can be served all day.

Is this a good place for 8-10 mid morning on a Saturday?

Take advantage of the Waitlist. The property is quite large. I have not been exactly at that time. Cedar Park is a bit lazy to wake up so the closer to eight the better.

The biscuits were amazing, and both the spinach omelette and the over‑easy egg were cooked perfectly. The whole place felt bright, clean, and relaxed. We'll definitely be back to check out their brunch.

Today we both wanted the biscuits with gravy and so we asked for just that! The service is as usual very prompt and courteous and our 2 plates came out fast and hot. We had each ordered the scrambled eggs soft- (so juicy) and they sadly were not as expected. The gravy was just barely enough to not even cover the biscuits- and it was very tasty, so we asked for more, and were billed for an additional side of gravy. Again the side of gravy that was provided and billed for, was very small. So there's room for improvement there. We enjoyed our meal but definitely would have enjoyed it more if more gravy had been used! Oh I forgot to mention that one of us ordered the stack of pancakes foster as an add on and they were good. Idk if the pancakes arrived hot, but by the time we got to try them they were very lukewarm. But the flavor was good. Overall, today it was average to good food: room for improvement! Enjoy!

The eggs Benedict that I had to pay 13 for was cold and plastic like on dry sourdough bread. I went for Mother's Day for a nice day out with some friends and I'm not a mother yet but good Lord I felt second hand embarrassment for the staff here if this is what Mother's get for their sacrifice. A hostess actually said "you should have told me" about where we sat. It was ridiculous. We literally waited 45 minutes. I could have and should have driven home in that time. It was so stupid. Seriously not good. Don't go. BleCh. Wish I could leave no stars. Negative!!!

I've lived in this area for 5 years and never knew of this gem! Not a lot of breakfast places on or…read morejust off of 620. I literally drive by Hudson Bay twice a day, 5 days a week for work. I'm kicking myself that I've missed out on the last 5 years! So obviously this is my first time in. I walked in, not knowing what to expect. A lady behind the bar made eye contact with me, greeted me & said sit wherever you want. A lot of tables were taken. There were a couple open, But I'm solo, so I sat up at the bar. Another lady came over and started chatting with me like we were old friends, which I love. God Bless Texas! She was telling me everything is good, you're not going to be disappointed. Burgers are fabulous. And so on. Once she said waffles, I was in! She wondered off cleaning and helping other patrons. I looked over the menu, saw chicken and waffles. I was sold! A young man came over and asked if I had a drink in mind. I said yes. Mexican Coke. Would you believe I've never had Mexican Coke before. It's true. This was my first, right here at Texas Toast Breakfast and Burgers. Memories being made. To be honest, I don't drink soda much at all. I also said I was ready with my food order too. Chicken and waffles. He said good choice, it's a big Texas shaped waffle (love it) with a big piece of fried chicken. He put my order in and gave me my Coke in a bottle. No fountain type drink. Felt like an 80's Coke commercial with a real glass bottle. Feeling fancy. Since I'm solo, I put my ear phones in and listened to my own music. A little Lenny Kravitz, American Women, if you're interested in what I was listening to. My plate came out, and Oh ! My ! Word !!! Chicken & waffle big as my plate. I nearly cried, gasped, unbelievable! Seriously, this was a solid breakfast, and now I'm really bummed I've missed out for 5 years! I joined the clean plate club even though I was completely stuffed. Chicken was tender, juicy, hot and fried perfectly. Light crispy, not greasy. So, so good. The waffle was light & fluffy, but once I smeared the butter on it and soaked it with syrup, I put the chicken back on top of the waffle and cut away at both. Solid breakfast. Completely epic. Enjoyed every bite. Was in my own little world with my music and good food and an amazing Mexican soda. The service, way top notch. I felt like family. The young man that took my order, Alvaro M, totally chill with me, we talked a little about ourselves. And that I never knew this was here even though I drive by on 620 for work. Truly, great service. As a solo diner, it's nice to have human contact. Even though I had my ear phones in 1 ear, so I could still hear and interact. Had the best service, food, interaction. Couldn't have asked for a better first impression. Can't wait to come back. Parking lot is pretty large. So you shouldn't have a problem finding a place. This seems like an off the beat residential neighborhood with a lot of RV parks, and boat launching area. Like I said, hidden gem!

I grew up eating (and later making) really good chicken fried steak. So I didn't come in casual. I came in ready to evaluate. First things first: this spot is tucked into a strip mall, and if you're not paying attention, you'll drive right past it. Keep your eyes open. Walking in, though? Completely different story. The vibe is laid-back, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. We were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we liked. Midday on a Wednesday meant it was nice and quiet; no wait, no chaos. Drinks were simple - Mexican Coke for me (always a win), fountain Pepsi for my lunchmate. (it's always nice when they have both options) We both ordered the chicken fried steak because of course we did. That's what brought us here. Sides: Me: green beans + mashed potatoes Them: salad + mashed potatoes Gravy situation: Me: classic Them: chorizo gravy Food came out quickly, which I always appreciate. Let's break it down honestly: The breading on the chicken fried steak? Perfection. Crispy, well done, exactly what you want. The meat itself? That's where things fell short. It needed more tenderizing--cutting into it took effort, and the texture leaned dense and chewy instead of that tender, fork-friendly bite you're hoping for. On top of that, it was missing seasoning, which made the whole thing feel a little flat despite that beautiful crust. The chorizo gravy (per my lunchmate)? Solid. Good flavor. But even that couldn't fully make up for the lack of seasoning in the meat. Sides were a mixed bag. Flavor was there--but mine had noticeable cold spots, like they'd been reheated unevenly. My lunchmate's sides were warm, but not quite hot. Now here's where they win big: The service. Top notch across the board. Everyone was kind, attentive, and welcoming without hovering. The owner even came by to chat for a bit - super friendly, clearly passionate, and we genuinely enjoyed the conversation and hearing about the food. That kind of hospitality goes a long way. Overall? I'd come back. But next time, I'm switching it up. The owner confidently recommended the waffles, and after that conversation, I'm willing to give them a shot. Because while the chicken fried steak didn't quite hit the mark for me this time, the people and the atmosphere? Absolutely worth another visit.

You feel taken care of from the moment you sit down. Now, about sitting down: this place is popular. Like, really popular. If you're hoping for an intimate conversation about your feelings, you might want to snag a table outside. Inside, it's lively enough that you'll be reading lips more than listening. But hey, the outdoor seating is lovely, so problem solved! Here's where things get a little greasy--literally. First Watch proudly markets itself as a champion of fresh, whole ingredients and quality cooking. I've been a fan for exactly that reason. But on my most recent visit, something was... off. The food had this noticeably greasier quality, and I'm pretty confident they switched to a cheaper cooking oil (canola or similar vegetable oil, if I had to guess). For context: certain oils don't agree with me--they trigger migraines and general unwellness. And sure enough, within hours, I was both nauseous and nursing a headache. Not exactly the "fresh start" First Watch promises. Everything else was solid, but I can't give five stars when a restaurant's practice doesn't match its principles. If you're sensitive to oils or generally avoid the cheaper varieties, proceed with caution or ask about their current cooking oil before ordering anything fried or sautéed. Still love the concept--just hoping they get back to their roots (and better oils).

Gone a few times..at different times. Of course the weekend mornings are the busiest! But, even at their busiest, the staff is always pleasant and attentive. I have gone a couple times with my husband, who is very picky on breakfast food. But, got him to venture out and even try the Italian omelet, which he loved. Both of us LOVE their potatoes! I love their chicken sausage (*get a side of it if your meal does not come with it). But, today, went on weekday morning by myself and even around almost 11am, it was pretty packed. I sat on the counter, and had great service! Got my coffee right away. (*strange, they don't put a spoon in the main set up. Had to ask for one...and was a large spoon...for coffee). Decided to try one of their NEW breakfast items (*and asked server, and she said it was good), was the Chimichurri Steak and Eggs hash! OMG...soo good! Comes with steak, eggs (*how you like it...I did scrambled), peppers, onions, spinach, feta, garlic aioli and chimichurri sauce! Soo much great flavors! I don't know if this only be "seasonal", but hope they add to menu. Thank you again for great food and great service! Will be back!
