The Tangled Horn was a great stop to listen to local live music and grab a few bites to eat. They've got some opportunities for improvement but nothing that can't be addressed. First, the good stuff. Live music and lots of seating is always a plus. We had a party of nine and were able to find seating both inside and outside - not together but at two tables, next to one another. Totally cool. The wait staff were all pretty friendly and even though there were signs everywhere to bus your own tables, we did have folks stop by to take away our dishes and check on things. Everyone was smiling and in good moods. One of our dishes was tasty as well: lots of love for the fish and chips. We also ordered the chicken sandwich and loaded fries. Both were alright. The sandwich was bland and clocked in at $20 when you added cheese. It did come with fries, but isn't affordable. Same for the loaded fries: a smaller portion and needed more cheese. I would have loved sour cream as well. Sadly, also not affordable. The worst item, though, was our mozzarella sticks and salsa. These guys had zero flavor, weren't seasoned and weren't warm enough. I'm positive these were from a frozen bag. If someone from management is reading, def change brands/vendors. These were tasteless. We ordered drinks, all with mixed reviews expect my spicy Paloma (Paloma Inferno). The marg was too sweet and not balanced. The parents ordered crown and ginger ale. No Sprite or 7Up products so ginger ale, it was. The issue there was the way the staff made it. They added the alcohol, then poured the ginger ale, and topped it with ice. Completely backwards and created a watered down drink immediately. Overall, we ordered two entrees, two appetizers and had four cocktails. $120 with tip. Absolutely not affordable. You shouldn't need to order at the counter, seat yourself, grab your own waters and bus your own tables for these prices. The food should align as well. read more

Shameful experience. I was enjoying some live music on a Friday evening when the owner came out and began yelling profanities and threatening a former employee in full display of the other patrons. He shouted at him saying "Get the F out of my bar" and "I can't wait to see you in town so I can beat your a$s". What a joke! This person clearly has zero understanding of hospitality or leadership, to say the least. Behavior like this from management is likely why the place is going out of business. I've been here a few times with friends and the food was ok. But I just saw they have an instagram add and are bribing people to leave them 5 star reviews, to be entered in a drawing for $200 (see the attached photo). If it was that great they wouldn't be paying people for good reviews. The service was quite slow but they are fairly new so maybe still figuring it out. Buying reviews though is shady AF in my opinion. It makes me question what else they are doing. We went here for the first time a week ago. I took a chance and ordered the fish and chips. I had misgivings, because in many restaurants, you get fish and potatoes soggy with grease, often with an "off" taste. Not at The Tangled Horn. The fish was firm and crispy, and the fries were crisp and perfectly seasoned. The most impressive thing: the paper basket liner showed maybe three drops of grease. That means the fryer was hot enough so the grease didn't soak into the food. And the food's flavor showed that the grease was changed regularly. My wife had a burger, and the staff accommodated her gluten allergy nicely. The beer from next door is a great addition, and we love the dog friendly business model. Attentive staff, too. read more

Should have left when there were no customers at 1200 noon. Went in, pretty dark & music too loud. You stand at the front & look at a menu & then order right there. My son decided on chicken & waffles, but was told it's only available on weekends. No note of that on the menu. He changed to brisket plate & I ordered chicken sandwich. Other than beer, the only drinks were from a dispenser. The tea was awful & I poured it out. No Coke or Pepsi, just off brands. Our meal arrived, & it was terrible. The brisket actually looked like shoe leather; completely dry & tough. Accompanied by overcooked corn & white rice. The toast was the heel of a loaf; pretty gross. My chicken sandwich was blah. The chicken was fine, but the chibatta bun was too tough to chew. The fries were ok. I took the chicken home for the dog. Save yourself & don't eat here. read more

Service and atmosphere were great. Food was good, but way overpriced for portions. "Huge" omelette was very skimpy and couldn't have possibly been three eggs as advertised. Pot of french press coffee wasn't even 4 cups and cost $16. Chicken in the chicken and waffles was excellent and a generous size serving, but waffle was tiny. I'm a local. Great local spot! Low-key place to stop for a chill evening. There is usually live music, the menu is simple but the food is very high quality! We love the chicken sandwich, the portobello bowl, and unique burgers. The patio is large and such a great spot in warm weather. I know winter is harder for small business in CO since there is less seating in winter, but we can't wait for spring when can walk over to relax in the sun. The owners are clearly working super hard to provide a great spot for the community. We look forward to coming back! read more

The service was good and the staff was nice but the fried chicken was not great. It's like &17.99 for a the tender plate with three small tenders. Cole slaw and frozen French fries. The fried chicken coating was weird and they served it with like a tartar sauce which was weird. Overall just not impressed and likely won't come back. Maybe just for a beer with friends read more

I have no doubt the food is amazing. however, I called and asked what time the kitchen was open until, the woman on the phone said 11 and I repeated myself "the kitchen??" and she said yes! until 11. unheard of in our small town. i buzzed over. I wait without even being acknowledged for upwards 7 minutes while I watch her make ONE sour. when she hands it to the people standing right next to me, she still doesn't say "hello welcome in I'll be with you" - nothing. its now been 10 minutes since i walked in. eventually after bussing her dirty cocktail making wares she comes over and asks me what I would like to drink - I asked her if she could make me a Negroni - she then immediately walks away from me again, without saying "let me ask my manager I'm new" or anything at all. i have grace, shes new,shes slow,shes not sure- but to just walk away without saying ANYTHING. after a 10 minute wait. its disheartening. she returns to her POS with her manager i assume and they then silently punch in the ingredients for a Negroni. which I would have happily bought even after the trash service. she asks me for anything else and I tell her I'd like to place food, even tho at this point I'm sure there is none because I am a service worker and I can just tell. she then tells me there is no food and I was bummed. I reflected to her that she told me on the phone she said there was food - maybe it was loud and she misheard me but it stands as a lesson over all. after all this i left. sad hungry and discouraged by a place i would have loved to belly up at and enjoyed the music. making friends with the staff, leaving a nice review ect. I checked the website and it had all the info I needed to know (kitchen closes at 9) too late ofc. I'm a local and a big time fan of the place next store and have wanted to check out the tangled horn since opening... I will be back but I do hope yall take this one into consideration to help train the disco boot gal working the front to be more attentive and less ditsy with her customers. it was disheartening after a 12 hour shift! all the best to you - dont want to sound like an ass! but really! a hello would have been nice! read more
