Super easy five stars. First of all. The burgers and all the food is fantastic, and so are the drinks. It's located in a Holiday Inn and we were staying there so it was an easy choice for dinner after traveling all day. We were there on a weeknight and it was unexpectedly busy. CJ (or TJ) was the only one working....besides the cook, I think. Anyway, CJ (or TJ) was handling the whole place by himself...making drinks, serving food, taking orders, the whole bit. He was so cool, we didn't mind the extra wait at all. He told us the food would be worth the wait and it was! The menu is simple, lots of burgers, some chicken options, and a few salads, along with some wings, fried pickles, quesadillas, etc. The fries and onion rings were perfect!! I mean, perfect!! We loved our experience there. Oh, and CJ (or TJ) makes a killer Old Fashioned!! They are also open for breakfast from 6:30-9:30 AM. Bar is open 3:00-11:00 PM, and dinner is from 4:00-10 PM. read more

We are staying at the hotel and because of the cold weather we were happy to see a restaurant. The bar tender was running the bar and the restaurant by himself and yet he was amazing! He was super friendly, attentive, and the dinner, drinks, and dessert were all so good! We were impressed and left full and happy! Give that guy a raise seriously! read more

Horrible customer service took an hour to get a burger and a salad that was no where near correct

I was not impressed with my visit. We chose this as it was conveniently in the lobby of the hotel we were staying at. After a long day of traveling we stopped here and waited an hour for a burger and a salad. I ordered the caesar salad and it came with italian dressing rather than caesar dressing, and my fiancé ordered a burger that was still very pink in the middle. It worked out that Burger Theory is located in the Holiday Inn hotel. We arrived late and were very happy to find that they were serving until 10:00pm. The food was good. Build your own burger was great. My son said it was one of the best burgers he has had. Please understand that my son is a "foodie" and very much knows his burgers. The bartender/server, CJ was fantastic. Working hard and had a great personality. Didn't seem like they have a big staff, but we didn't feel like we had any lack of service. We are staying here for 6 days and will definitely make a return visit to Burger Theory. read more

The food here is amazing! A great burger with fresh ingredients and nice local beers. So why one star? Well, I've been here three times in the past 6 months. Every time without exception it's been the same rude, condescending server. If you are familiar with Bill Burr, he's a real loud arrogant jerk whose funny. This server is Bill Burr.. but not funny. Usually takes 45 minutes to an hour to get a burger and fries. Just my experience. Nice place, they just need more than one server on Ritalin. read more

We came into Burger Theory after a long trip on the road. Staying at the Holiday Inn Express and it seemed worth checking out. We opted to sit at the bar. Our bartender, Drew, was wonderful. Super friendly and working hard! He seemed to be able to gave fun with his customers and and keep up with his duties. The food was standard buger fair. Couldn't have been to bad...we cleaned our plates! The onion rings we fab, however. We also met some regular patrons and found then to be a blast! Apparently Durango has fabulous people. read more

The burger wasn't cooked to my specifications. I just wanted it at medium. I did build your own burger and they didn't build it right. Forgot my cheese. Charged a dollar per side. I asked for Jalapeño and onions there were barely any on it. The service was subpar. it's expensive for what it is. If I was here and you want simple food it's probably cheaper to go to Applebees. That's what it tasted like. There are much better spots here in Durango to eat. Wouldn't recommend. read more

The ambience in the restaurant was of people drinking and going outside every 20 mins to smoke pot. Absolutely disgusting behavior and staff members were apart of it. The food was fast and great. We decided to stay at the Holiday Inn BECAUSE #BurgerTheory was part of the package; kids stay and eat free. I know my first complain is against #HolidayInn (working on that review) but the menu at Burger Theory is tiny, the food was far less than great and there was only one person taking orders, serving, doing everything but cooking. My first time trying this place and it was fine. Easy to get to from the hotel. Open seating so I got a table by the window. Service was timely and they checked back with me often. I was happy to get breakfast before my trip. Good prices I feel for "hotel food". I kept my meal simple with biscuits and gravy. The bacon was a touch fatty but its bacon. The coffee was mild and over all my experience was a good one. Kind friendly staff was refreshing as well. read more

Great hidden gem in Durango! We wanted to go to another place after the train ride but the wait was over an hour! After a quick google search we found Burger Theory and they had no wait (this is gonna change once word gets out!). As Arizona visitors we were impressed with the bartender/ waiter CJ. He was amazing and makes a mean "Italian Margarita ". Seriously, do your self a favor and order that. We had great custom burgers and such a fun laid back atmosphere! Food was awful.......This is connected to the Holiday Inn in Durango and so we booked there because we thought it would be nice just to walk downstairs and have a good breakfast before we got our days started while on vacation. Well after day 1 we couldn't even do that because the food was so bad. Every plate was microwaved, there are microwaves in the rooms if I wanted a quick bite to throw in there, we refused to eat the bad tasting microwaved food with zero flavor they were charging $10/plate for. My 3 year old kid wouldn't even eat the pancakes and he LOVES pancakes. So if you are planning to stay at the Holiday Inn I suggest not depending on meals at this connected restaurant. read more

We ate breakfast here this morning. I ordered Biscuit and gravy, they were out and couldn't make more. I then ordered the breakfast burrito. It was so dry that I had to drink a lot of coffee to get it down. We were the only customers at the time but couldn't get waited on without flagging the waitress away from her conversation with her friend. The price for the simple breakfast was over 30 bucks. If you stay at the Holliday Inn here I recommend getting breakfast somewhere else. read more

The good news is at least there is a better restaurant at the Holiday Inn but I was less than 'wowed' there are menu items that would appeal to many folks. . . and as the name implies, there are many burger options. Great spot for lunch! Lots of burger choices, plus a buffalo chicken wrap and fish sandwich. Even entree salads. The firecracker shrimp appetizer was wonderful! The onion rings were the best. Chef Anthony (daytime) gave our group a sample of a new appetizer, a fried cod roll that was hot a juicy inside and very crispy and flavorful on the outside. He was so friendly. The burgers are great and the service was pretty good, but the food took forever and didn't come out together. One member of our party waited over an hour for a kids meal and everyone else had already finished which make sense because the kid's grilled chicken was burnt to a crisp. read more

It was alright. We got there and were seated but it took a very long time to have the waitress come and get our orders then took a while to get our order.
