I'm obsessed and see this being a regular breakfast place for us. I've been twice in the past month. I will say they have specials that change often so you never know if you get to try something new or not. The only downside is since it's still cold out there is limited seating so if you have a large party, you will end up waiting. We waited about an hour because when we got there, everybody else had just got there as well, so there were no open tables to fit us with the baby. People that came in and were able to sit at the bar, sat down quickly though. I think this will be much less of a problem when it starts to warm up because they do have outdoor seating as well. 10/10 for the Christmas Mimosas Flight 10/10 for Frescas con crema (totally shareable) 8/10 for the Battlefield Breakfast (didn't care for the turkey sausage and they were out of the pork) 7/10 for the Baja breakfast skillet, which I ended up getting as a burrito - except not all the potatoes were cooked all the way 9/10 for the hot chocolate 4/10 for the biscuits. You have to really like rosemary. I'd pass on these in the future. 4/10 for the coffee. It was meh. If you're gonna do hot coffee, go ahead and grab it from pale horse, a couple of doors down. They did have a good selection for iced coffee, but I didn't try any of those. Can't wait to go and try more items and excited to see what they have on their changing menu.

The Stockpot Chesapeake is located in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake. They are located along Battlefield Blvd. in the Expressway Shops Shopping Center. My visit here was on December 2, 2025. I haven't been to this part of Chesapeake. I was here for a team holiday lunch. It was a bit confusing to get here with the GPS, but at least I was finally able to get to the right spot. We would be eating inside for sure, as it was a rainy day. Parking was not an issue during this visit, and you can see the outdoor patio in front of the restaurant. Once I came inside, you could see that this place was a casual restaurant. A table was already reserved for our group. After coming inside, I sat down for a moment and then looked around the place for a few moments. There is a bar area. The place isn't large, but they were able to accommodate everyone here during the time we were here. We would talk and mingle for a while until everyone arrived, but our server came around each time asking for drinks while we waited, though I just stick to water with lemon. They are a breakfast, brunch and lunch type of restaurant. I took some time to look over the menus they had. They have their main menu, as well as a Two For You Lunch Combo menu. After everyone was here, we had some time to look over the menus. Our server came around for the ordering. I decided to go with the BLT Lunch Combo with the deluxe version (includes avocado and egg. A side was included, and I chose the Route 11 Kettle Chips. After about 10 to 15 minutes, the food started coming out to the table. I will say all the food looked really good too. When my order came out, it looked really good too. I was ready to indulge in that sandwich. The sandwich was great and had lots of flavor to it with the items included in it. The kettle chips were really good too, but I hadn't had chips with that many carbs in it for quite a while. Finally, we were able to choose a dessert brownie, and I went with the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake. This item really hit the spot too. I know it spiked my glucose that day, but it isn't something I do often. Overall, this was an excellent experience here. We all had a great time and great food. Service was great too. They have a great unique food menu. I will likely be back, but will probably go to the one in Virginia Beach as that one is much closer to me. If you are looking for another local breakfast/brunch/lunch place to visit, this place is worth checking out.

Solid brunch choice with fast service and reasonable prices. The decor was very basic, but the delicious food made up for it. We did wish the menu had some more options, but we enjoyed ourselves.

I have been to the Stockpot Chesapeake twice since my first visit 2 weeks ago. My first visit we came for my sister's birthday brunch, it was a great experience where we left saying "I can't believe we've never tried this place." Our Second visit was less impressive but great nonetheless. My first visit I had the Merry Mimosa Flight, Fresas con cream pancakes, and a side of bacon. Every little thing, down to the crumbs was consumed. The flight was adorable already (That grinch one stole my heart and my pallet) but they were all very good. The Fresas con cream pancakes were so large you could share! Bigger than my hand! The bacon was really good, not too crispy or soft. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. Now my second visit all the items I wanted to try were either gone from their seasonal menu or not available so I tried the yogurt with granola and honey and grabbed a side of bacon. One kiddo had a stock gyro and the other had a hot chocolate and chicken noodle soup. Which were all received well. The only negative for me is how the use plain Greek yogurt, it was good as long as you had the granola and honey with it but once it was done the yogurt was too thick, plain, and made it feel as if I was eating sour cream. This second time we came we had 6 people, which I assume is when that add gratuity. Our waitress was less attentive this visit as well. The place is pretty small, but if you get there at the right time there's not really a wait.

Having been to the Stockpot in Norfolk and VB, I wanted to check out this Chesapeake location. I came in on a Monday morning, just before lunch. I noticed that this location easily has the best parking situation of the three, as it's located at a small shopping center with amply parking directly in front of the restaurant. I was seated quickly upon entering and water (and a menu) was provided immediately. I glanced around and liked this location immediately - it's spacious, it doesn't feel crowded and they have a big outdoor patio for those who enjoy al fresco dining. It was my lucky day because Stockpot offers ramen on Mondays. I decided on the Stockpot Shio and Anne's chicken noodle soup. I waited a little while for the soup, but if I remember correctly, they make it the chicken soup to order, so no big deal. The chicken soup justified the wait. It was hot, delicious and comforting. I only ordered a cup (I was technically having more soup for my entree anyways), so next time I will likely upgrade to a bowl. The Stockpot Shio soon arrived, which came with Yuzu sofrito & sea salt tare, chicken & pork broth, shredded chicken, napa cabbage, black garlic oil. My goodness, this bowl of ramen was fantastic - I devoured it. It's so good, I'm gonna have to make it a point to come in as often as I can on Mondays. My server was quiet, but nice. She helped me throughout most of my stay, but once my entree arrived I didn't see her again. Another employee, who appeared to be the manager on duty, dropped off my check, dropped off a togo order I placed early on, and returned with my card and receipt after I paid. Not sure it that's their protocol, but it seemed weird that my original server didn't check up on me or finish up with me the rest of the way. Regardless, this dining experience was fantastic. Despite the distance to this location from Norfolk, this might be my preferred Stockpot (because of the parking). I look forward to future visits. Thank you, Stockpot! JV

After a morning of pickle ball, my friend and I decided to go for some brunch at The Stockpot. We both liked the one in Norfolk, so we thought we'd give this one a try. We were happy we did. I really enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros Fried Rice with over medium eggs, and she enjoyed the Battlefield Breakfast. We both added a rosemary biscuit which was delicious, too. The wait staff were very nice and helpful. It's a cute place with a relaxing atmosphere, located in a strip mall. In the area, Check Them out!

I've been to this location of The Stockpot a few times now and feel more comfortable giving a comprehensive review. This particular location sits on the end of a small strip shopping center off south Battlefield Blvd. There is ample private parking. They have a large canopied patio in the front of the restaurant for those peak weather days, which is a nice draw as well. I have been drawn to The Stockpot on multiple occasions because they have an excellent selection of vegetarian and vegan options. They have unique dishes that you will definitely not find anywhere else. The food that we have tried has been hit or miss. I have tried the Bui bowl multiple times with eggs (breakfast) and salmon (dinner). I would recommend ordering without the oil - it can make a meal that you think would feel light very heavy. Hubby has tried the OG fried rice, which he liked and a daily special toasty, which he really liked. They're kind of like a grilled cheese uncrustable if you can picture such a thing. The kids meals have disappointed our little one a bit. The side of fruit has been only 1 type rather than a combo. On both visits, she didn't care for their selection of green apple and the cantaloupe last visit was flavorless. The waffles are also not impressive. It's almost as if they were cooked on a waffle iron ahead of time then deep fried to order - VERY crispy and greasy is the only way I can explain it. Note of caution: they automatically come slathered with way too much syrup and butter. Request it on the side if this is not your preference. Overall, service is decent. We've yet to have a super friendly server. They always seem busy and to-the-point. On our 2nd visit, our server had an excuse for everything - food delays, cold coffee - but never an apology. Service was much improved and attentive on our most recent visit. Overall, three stars. I will likely return to try some of their other menu offerings.

Honey ginger green tea - lacking ginger taste

    * Let me preface this review: Food is 5 stars* The left to be desired 1 star is for service. I really hate to give stockpot a less stellar review since I love Stockpot food and have been repeat patron with great experiences at the Norfolk and VA Beach locations! First time at this location. I am not surprised that they're busy at lunch time on a weekday, with no other " competition" within a half mile radius. Service is dismal. There are tables not cleared, which is unacceptable at a busy timeframe. I was fine with being offered a seat at the bar/counter. There is only one chef on the grill, one sous chef seemingly busy with salad prep. I had to let the waitress know I was ready to order as she was walking around just filling sauce cups?? The second waitress was just chatting away while clearly there was another group of 3 that also sat at the bar after me. After chatting, this waitress started asking the party that sat AFTER me for their drinks. Was it because I was one person probably with less tip potential? The same waitress can also be found taking quick breaks to check her phone! The food and drinks: I ordered the iced honey ginger green tea. Can't taste the ginger. Towards the end when I was given their device to add tip to the bill, the waitress said "thanks for your patience, it's been busy out here". It's great for the awareness and reflection but doesn't service have to be great impervious to how busy the restaurant gets? Ambiance: There are also tons of flies indoors (see photo).

After trying the sister locations in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, I knew I had to check out stockpot Chesapeake. As expected, the food was fresh and varied. We sat at the communal table, and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right as we arrived despite the typical 757 Sunday brunch rush. I highly recommend for a healthy yet satisfying brunch!

    Battlefield Breakfast

High time I kicked off my first review of 2025. I was invited to meet some friends for brunch, and honestly, I initially thought they meant the Norfolk location. I had no idea there was a Stockpot in Chesapeake. But surprise discoveries aside, I ended up having a really solid meal here. It's a beautiful day outside for November and most of the outdoor dining area was actually in use. We opted for indoor seating and were seated immediately. I would say the place was at about 75% capacity when we arrived, but it started to clear out not long after. I ordered the Battlefield Breakfast: two eggs cooked to order, a choice of half an avocado or a protein (I chose bacon, because bacon), home fries with peppers, onions, and spinach, and your pick of sourdough toast or a rosemary biscuit. I went with the toast. The food arrived in about 15 minutes, and it was absolutely worth the wait. My over-easy eggs were perfectly done, and the bacon was excellent and very flavorful. I broke it over my eggs and mixed everything together with my home fries. The sourdough came in thick, fresh slices already buttered, perfect for sopping up every last drop of yolk. BTW they kept the drinks full. I had 3 cups of coffee so I'll be bouncing off the wall any moment now. Overall I give it 4 stars. It was an excellent experience and I'm looking forward to returning at a future date. I'm eyeing the Baja Breakfast Skillet on my next visit.

This cute little hidden gem serves up some good eats! I popped in here on a rainy day and got to try their salmon chowder with a French onion toasty bread. The toasty came on a large piece of sourdough that's big enough to split with a friend. The salmon chowder was delicious and sold out quickly. They also have made from scratch biscuits that are outstanding. I cannot wait to come back and try new things. Check them out.

I've been a fan of The Stockpot since their first store in the Virginia Beach Vibe District over nine years ago. Including Norfolk they now have three locations. Chesapeake did not disappoint. With a newer location in Chesapeake I was excited to try them out for the first time and popped in on a weekday just before close. It's a big hike from my home, but a treat for others that reside in this more rural area. There is good availability of surface parking and it was clear of debris. The Chesapeake Stockpot may be off the beaten track, but it suits them perfectly in my opinion. It's not far from the NC border and I expect OBX traffic in season. The store is less than a mile drive off Highway 168 in a busy strip that once was home to Big Ugly Brewing for many years. They offer outdoor seating with a spacious patio. The dining area is bright and fresh with trademark Stockpot open kitchen and bar like the beach. Interior seating appears less than Norfolk, but certainly more than Virginia Beach inside and patio. Merchandise and bakery items are up front and displayed nicely. Staff were immediately friendly with seating at the bar which was my choice as a solo diner. My eating area was clean as was everything I saw including back house. The space suits groups. Menus and water was made available and I moved quickly with the approach of their closing. They offer a full menu while open. I ordered the Big Island Bowl which consist of Seven Hills Farm beef patty, forbidden black rice, house brown gravy and a sunny side egg. Through the years it's been a delight for me to watch the kitchen and how the staff interacts. It's tells me a lot, but I must say since I was the last customer of the day a bit different. The cooks and staff were also beginning prep for the next day. I witnessed a well oiled machine and execution of my meal. My bowl arrived in about ten minutes, or so and was piping hot. The Forbidden Black rice is unusual and wowzers tasty. The proteins of beef and egg were an exceptional pairing. The gravy was the right amount. This was a uniquely different dish that I loved! I added an apple cake to round it off. It was fresh and the buttercream yum. Another home run and congratulations to Patrick and staff. A well deserved 5 stars and recommend to locals and travelers.

The Stockpot is a welcome addition to Chesapeake, with options and flavors you can't get anywhere else nearby. In just two visits, we've had two completely different flavor experiences. On our first visit, I went with the OG Fried Rice while the hubs had the Battlefield Breakfast. The fried rice had great flavor, but I'm not sure the crispy rice is my favorite texture. The over-easy eggs were perfectly cooked. Similarly, the scrambled eggs on the Battlefield Breakfast were fantastic. Their homemade pork sausage is like no other I've had in a very good way. The only nitpick with his breakfast was that the potatoes in the hash were a little underdone. Since it was a cold day, it was the perfect time to try the S'mores Hot Cocoa, which was rich, decadent, and tasty AF. We went again this weekend to try something different. Since the French Toast is seasonal, I had to try the Pumpkin Cheesecake French Toast. I got one piece versus two because I knew it'd be sweet, and I got a side of that scrumptious sausage to balance the sweetness. That French toast was incredible. It was toasted just right, and the pumpkin cheesecake mousse was silky and smooth. The hubs went with the Pan Con Chicharron, which was tasty and had great texture. The staff here is very friendly and really on top of things. We haven't tried baked goods from the counter yet, but I'll likely grab something next time. It'll be nice to sit outside on the patio for lunch in the Spring. We need more of that around here!

But honestly, it turned out to be such a fun and tasty experience! For anyone who hasn't tried it: hot pot is basically a big simmering pot of soup right at your table where you cook all your own food. You pick all your ingredients from soup, veggies, meats, noodles, mushrooms, whatever you want and drop them into the hot broth to cook. It's super customizable and kind of like a mix between soup and DIY cooking right at the table, which is actually a blast once you get the hang of it. We both went with a hot, spicy soup base which was perfect for warming up on a cold day. I threw in broccoli, mushrooms, ribeye, and noodles. The best part is watching everything cook right in front of you and then pulling it out when it's just right. The broth soaks up all those flavors and gets even richer as you go. The flavors were amazing! Really bold and satisfying. The spicy broth was exactly what I needed, and everything we added came out perfectly cooked and delicious. I can't tell you enough after every Pho Soup, it just makes you feel good, and satisfied! Plus they said the broth with its spices have been stewing for 10hrs or more, so you know it's going to be tasty. Now the decore was modern and spacious and service was spot on! I order the "sirloin with shrimp" with rice noodles. And wow! It hit the spot. I slurped up all the broth. Now you can have soup anytime of the day if you are looking for an alternative healthy meal! Will definitely come back.

The food here is okay, but it will suffice whenever it's cold out and you need some hot broth to warm you up. I came in on a Friday evening nearly a year ago. Snow was beginning to melt away and there was no food in the house. So, I took a drive to see how the area was doing in regards to the snow, and I decided to drive by my office when I saw that Pho 79 was open. When I arrived, I was seated immediately. There were maybe 2 parties already seated and eating and the lady quickly gave me a menu. When I sat down, it dawned on me that the last time I ate at this location was a good 10-15 years ago. They changed up the seating a little, and the interior lighting is darker than I remembered. I decided on: A1. Spring Rolls P13. Pho Ribeye Steak Both items came to my table quickly and I proceeded to chow down. The spring rolls were kinda tough (well, the ingredients inside were tougher than I anticipated), while the pho ribeye steak was very good. I had a soda to drink, but it took a minute to get someone's attention for a refill (if there's one pet peeve I have with certain restaurants, servers need to be more cognizant and anticipate when a customer will need a refill; during my restaurant employment days, I was taught the 'silent refill' approach - assume the customer will need refills and get them that refill before they even think to ask). I'd like to say I was in and out of Pho 79 in about 25 minutes. So speed is a strength here. The food is good, although the spring rolls need some work, and the service, although fast, could be a bit more anticipatory rather than reactionary. Still, this is the best Pho 79 in this area, and I wouldn't mind visiting again (which I have since this visit). Thank you, Pho 79! JV
