S'mores bar. So good.
Stacy W.

I met some friends here for lunch one day and what a cute little place. It is small inside, but has several seating options. There are a few booths, a few small tables with chairs, and then you can also sit along the wall at a bar. We were lucky and snagged the last booth. I had planned ahead and was going to order the blueberry pancakes, but when I walked in I saw s'mores bars and it was game over for me. I also got a side of bacon. The s'mores bars were so good btw. I had to eat it with a fork because it was soft, but that was perfect for me. It also had little pockets of salty goodness. I couldn't eat all of it and had to take it home. The bacon was also amazing. It was thick and real..not microwaved or anything weird. It was nice, legit bacon. Other people ordered normal food and everyone loved what they got. I also stopped back by the counter after and ordered some cookies to go. Service was so friendly. You order at the counter and then there's water and water cups with silverware and some condiments off to the side. I can't wait to come back. Maybe next time I'll get the blueberry pancakes!

Steak and egg burrito
Julie R.

This small restaurant impressively keeps up with demand! Tasty, hot, and reasonably fast since all is made to order. Breakfast burrito tastes like a egg, bacon, and sausage platter in a handheld package. The sausage is memorable! The steak and egg burrito is creamy, cheesy, comforting and so good. All food is packaged to go, though you may luck out on one of the 3 booths or 5 stools if you want. Two of us ate, and both were full after half a burrito, thrilled we were getting a second yummy meal out of this experience. Definitely worthwhile!

That meatloaf sandwich is one of the most amazing things I've ever eaten. I'll be back!

Worth the hype... the breakfast burrito is DELICIOUS. Get in. Get off. Get out. The pink phone does it for me.

More like a 3.5, but giving them the benefit of the doubt. We came in on a Thursday evening and the…read moreplace was packed. The host asked if we minded sitting at the bar. We don't mind that at all (sometimes you get better service!). BUT, when we walked to the bar, there was only one seat. We started to leave and let the host know there wasn't room. No big deal, we could try somewhere else. Immediately he pulled out 2 menus and had seating. He was holding out on a 4 top. Alrighty then. Note - the place cleared out pretty fast and only 1 table of 2 was seated after us. This is a very small place and only 2 servers were working. They were a bit in the weeds when we were first sat, but as tables cleared out they recovered. Our server was very polite and as he recovered from the rush, he became more attentive. Standard steakhouse menu here, though a little on the pricier side. I started with a wedge salad (no egg) and hubby had the Caesar. I was a little put off that you have to order and are charged $1 per person for bread. We ordered it, but only got 2 rolls total. You'd think by charging for it, they would keep it coming. But alas, no. The wedge was a perfect size to start (for the price though, I would have expected a larger size). Lots of yummy blue cheese crumbles, though the house made dressing itself lacked much blue cheese flavor. Hubby said his half Ceasar was pretty standard. I ordered a filet, mid-rare and hubby had the strip, rare. Unfortunately, my filet was very rare and the strip came out mid-rare bordering on medium. Not sure if the orders got mixed up, or the kitchen was struggling to get the correct temps. It was OK for us (we just switched plates), but might not be for other diners. What was really really good was my loaded baked potato! Super fluffy and definitely loaded. All in all, not a bad experience at all. Just not very memorable. If we're in the area again and craving steak, we might stop in again.

It is fully shaded which was nice considering we had some young kids with us. Service staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. I'd encourage them to be more targeted when describing some recommendations on the menu, she simply listed about the entire menu she asked "what are some of your favorites". Drinks were delivered very fast by the bartender. 2nd rounds were offered prior to the drinks being empty which shows good serving habits. The serving portions were very plentiful and played very well on the brunch theme! Burger was cooked medium well but still very juicy with a delicious mayo based sauce. The chicken and biscuit was juicy and the biscuit was flaky and delicious. It would have served the dish well TJ have a little more syrup. I also loved the unique hash tots. I was simply visiting from out of state so I won't return, but I'd encourage you to! They are also included on Resy so be sure to book there or use a Resy credit if you have it!

Food came out very quick and they easily added things to my order. The biscuits and gravy were delicious! Personally I definitely recommend adding an extra egg, jalapeños and cheese. The pancakes were solid too, albeit a bit pricy. The restaurant had great vibes and intentional design. Indoor does have limited seated but there is plenty of outdoor in the front and back. Well worth a visit!

If you love burritos, you need to track down The Coop food truck. Hands down my favorite food truck…read morein Virginia Beach! I stopped by during their pop up at Farmhouse Brewery and, once again, they did not disappoint. One thing you need to know: their burritos are massive. We're talking "the size of your head" big, so come hungry or be ready for some epic leftovers. The menu is small and focused (usually around four burrito choices), but every single one is packed with quality ingredients and flavor. The Coop spends most days serving on base, but keep an eye out for their local pop-ups. They're always worth chasing down. This time around, I ordered the Pepper Jack Chicken Burrito which was grilled chicken breast, maple bacon, melty pepper jack cheese, and their signature Coop Sauce, all bundled up in a warm tortilla. Every bite was the perfect balance of hearty, savory, spicy, and just a hint sweet from the bacon. Their Coop sauce is one of a kind. Tangy, and delicious. I'm sure adding an egg would take it to the next level (that's an option on all burritos). My friends had the Breakfast Burrito! This one comes with fluffy scrambled eggs, sharp cheddar cheese, juicy sausage, more of that craveable maple bacon, herby potatoes, and (of course) the signature Coop Sauce. They raved about every bite. I appreciate that The Coop keeps things simple with their streamlined menu and focus on top-notch burritos. Whenever I see them around town, I make it a point to stop ... even if there's a line, it moves fast and is absolutely worth the wait. Whether you're looking for a new lunch favorite or just crave seriously great street food, The Coop is a true gem on the Virginia Beach food truck scene. Can't wait to catch them at their next pop-up!
