Sparrow bakery is one of the absolute best eateries in Bend. I love the northwest crossing location and they offer amazing service and delicious food consistently! The ocean rolls are one of my favorite pastries in the planet. Better than a cinnamon roll with cardamom and a tender middle. I also love the breakfast croissant without bacon (I get it without cheese too). The flaky croissant perfectly encompasses the poached egg and avocado. You really can't go wrong with anything here! read more

Food was very good. I really enjoyed the bacon breakfast sandwich. The bacon was juice and crispy at the same time. The egg was nice. The avocados were a nice touch to the sandwich. The beignets were yummy, different. Very airy, flight, and fluffy. The sauce that comes with the beignets was great. I wish the beignets itself were yummy on their own but the sauce balances well. The service is quite fast. It's a busy cafe. There is always a line, sometimes out the door. Tables are small like up to maybe 4 people. It's not great for a large gathering. I saw that they have an express window if you're in a hurry. read more

we usually order the non bacon breakfast sandwich but over the years the sandwich has gotten so much more pricey. (which makes sense.) but the price they are charging is becoming too much for what we get this time that we went. The poached egg was super small and the yolk was hard so hard it was difficult to bite into nicely and you could barely taste the egg. i was going to cut the egg open so my yolk could spread around the whole sandwich to make up for the size of the egg but couldn't even cut through the egg with how hard it was and only could do so as i bit into it. disappointed with how the sandwich has progressively gotten more expensive and less good. read more

They serve stumptown coffee. In my mind I am raising both hands and jumping up and down. In real life I am smiling because I know I don't need to add a thing to my latte. Not a flavor, not a sugar, nothing. Good choice on coffee. I ordered many things- the lox (no capers) everything bagel. Highly suggest this. Delicious! I ordered rolls for thanksgiving, a cookie for later (which became earlier) and beignets. I managed to eat half the lox and one beignet and I was stuffed. Saving the rest for later. Loved every single bite of all the things. It was nice a crowded but the line flowed fine. read more

Great, not just the classic Ocean Roll ( not to be missed) but the hot breakfast sandwich and quiche were excellent. This is one of those 'worth the trip' spots in Bend. Hint: the shop opens officially at 8, they open the doors at about 7:45; by 8:15 there is a line out onto the sidewalk . We arrived at 7:40 read more

Being short of time, we had to resort to just a quick pick up from the location closest to our rental. My husband stopped by early, right after they had opened to place an order. The wait wasnt too long at all. We had a Cardamom latte and cappuccino for our drinks. Both very good! Our kids shared the French sticks and really loved the crispy edges and overly sweet(to us) french toasts. My husband and I both had the bacon breakfast sandwich and I really really loved its - its everything you look for in a wholesome breakfast sandwich. Not very messy but still runny egg, and very filling! We also shared an ocean roll, since that's something I had read so much about...it was cardamom-y and sticky without being cloyingly sweet. We liked it but not sure we can be as hyped about it. Nonetheless overall a killer breakfast place and a must visit read more

We ordered the monte-Cristo and the bacon breakfast sandwich. Both SO GOOD. It's the perfect combination of savory with a hint of sweet. Sparrow is a well-known must-try in Bend! Went on a Sunday a lil before noon time. They were already out of the ocean roll so we were redirected to the ocean roll banana pudding pie. It was pretty good. I went later that week on a Thursday afternoon around 3pm and to my surprise they had a bunch of ocean rolls! Honestly I don't think its my type of pastry. It's very much on the 'too sweet' side for me. Also ordered the cardamom latte. That was pretty good. My definite favorites were the monte-cristo and bacon breakfast sandwich :) highly recommend. read more

We have visited the bakery store multiple times. Today was yet another great experience. Spacious, orderly, great quality coffee and tasty food, a great service with a smile, leading to a top notch overall experience and rating. We had variety of coffee, freshly baked and still warm from the oven delicious Ocean Roll, and Bacon Sandoh. Which was a pouched egg, avocado, bacon, arugula, all in a tasty croissant. This is a famous local bakery. I still wish they kept the original tiny location open too. But the times have changed and we need to do the same. Evolve! read more

Paying 16$ for a to go chicken salad sandwich that takes 35 min to make is insane . Need to lower the prices to reflect

Everything about my experience at Sparrow was amazing! The Ocean Roll is a must try, I have never had anything like it and it seems to be a staple of Bend. The Monte Cristo was perfection! The lattes were equally strong as they were delicious. Seemed to be a little crowded due to how amazing it was, but it was worth it! read more

Great spot for breakfast. Line goes out the door but moved fast. They have a separate takeout window if you are ordering Togo. I ordered the ocean roll since everyone was raving about it. The taste was hard to describe - it kind of reminded me of fruity pebbles cereal. Definitely an interesting pastry but can't say I would order it again. I also got the bacon breakfast sandwich which was actually really delicious and surprisingly filling despite the size. Croissant was super buttery. Recommend! read more

Ocean Roll...5-Star...OMG DELICIOUSNESS! We visited while seeing friends in Bend. Saw the reviews for the Sparrow Bakery and their so called amazing Ocean Roll...thought it had to be hype. Wow! It was awesome...unique flavors, decadent, tasty, delicious, and worthy of all the hype. Bakery is incredible, staff are friendly, and food is spectacular. This place is okay, nothing crazy. The food was good, but the prices are too high. The French toast isn't anything special and I wouldn't recommend it. The bacon sandwich was great according to my girlfriend! The chocolate croissant was good as well! I would personally recommend passing on the pumpkin spice loaf! The wait times are NUTS!!!! OK this is gonna be a short and sweet review. Finally getting through all of my summertime vacation reviews and this one really and truly only stuck out for one reason do you see the size of their French Macarons? Do you see the massive size of these? How are these as beautifully perfect on your pallet is a normal size one maybe not... But you know what it is it's massive and it's great and it's amazing and even though it's a little unconventional, I think this was the best combination of a French Mac end one of those Whoopie pies lol... Only thing I tried, and it was an impulse buy, and I regret nothing read more

I honestly feel like this place is overrated. $17 for a breakfast sandwich is okay if it's really good but it was really average. Service was okay, some young gals with a bit of attitude (pretty sure my food purchase goes toward their salaries). While the food was okay, it was definitely overpriced. The banana bread was delicious, the ocean roll is overrated, our group was underwhelmed. Not going back! read more
