I went by myself, mid-afternoon on a Sunday. It's a regular building but with a definite and cute diner feel and a very broad Denny's-style menu. It professes to be 24/7, which I keep meaning to test. My server at the bar was Bee, and was consistently attentive and helpful as I sat for a while at the bar-like counter, keeping my coffee topped off. I sat for an unhurried while as I nibbled through my meal. Bacon & eggs was good. Eggs over easy, just as I asked. Bacon fully cooked but not rock hard crispy. I get the desire of places to fully cook but don't like it to snap. I want it bendy. This was great for me. I opted for grits, which I admit I don't have often and am not an expert at. She offered cheese on it, and I took cheddar. I don't know what's normal and what's not in grits, but the cheese just kind of sat there atop the grits and didn't mix well. The grits were also pretty watery and lacking in flavor, though adding salt helped a bit. Bread came buttered, but not very. I asked for extra butter, and Bee cheerfully brought a couple extra of those little plastic things. Again, fine service, but the butter in that was not soft and the toast wasn't hot enough to melt it, so it wasn't much help. Still hungry, I asked for a menu and got fries. Not breakfasty, but it was mid-afternoon. Fries came VERY quickly. Coffee continued to be refilled. Fries were plain, not seasoned, which is my personal preference. Bee had warned me while ordering, since I asked about seasoning, that they'd be dipped in some kind of batter. That's NOT my preference, but I had at least ordered them knowingly. I visited recently with my family and left feeling really uncomfortable and unwelcome. We were told it would be "uncomfortable" to seat 4 adults and a child, yet it didn't seem like a genuine attempt was made to accommodate us. As a family of color, the interaction didn't sit right and felt discouraging. To make matters worse, our car was towed shortly after we left the lot to find another place to eat. We stopped for breakfast while waiting for my partner's car to be serviced next door. Restaurant was busy in the middle of the week but we were seated right away. It appears to be a very popular place and it is open 24 hours a day. I noticed that coffee was listed as providing 1 refill only. I imagine that it might be to discourage people wanting to sit there for hours. Our server offered a second refill that was declined since I didn't finish my second cup as it was weak for my taste. Deducting a star from my previous rating. At my last visit, we were seated right next to someone that smelled like an ashtray. The last few times we have come, they are seating everyone in one small section of the middle of the restaurant. It makes the restaurant feel smaller than it is. It would be a much more pleasant experience if they spread the seated customers out to the rest of the restaurant. There is hardly anyone at the bar all the times I have come. It might be nice to have an incentive to sit there. I also felt that the dining area was not as clean as past visits. Wow. I cannot describe how freakin' delicious this Crabcake Benedict is! (Literally writing this in between bites.) The last time I had Eggs Benedict was on my honeymoon which was 13 years ago next week. We stayed at a B&B and the food was delicious but H-E-A-V-Y, so we haven't ordered it since. Adding crabcake in place of ham is a lighter version (certainly not calorie wise, lol) that is simply perfect. (Another bite, one moment please.) I want to get a Smashburger today on 4 July I added letters, tomato, extra onion, fries, and a side of grits. When I saw my food on to go I knew it was wrong. The Spanish guy put everything in small containers. The two young ladies gave me my food. I opened it. I didn't have my fries. I didn't have the lettuce tomato on my sandwich. I turned around right back to the girl at the counter. She went to the window to the Spanish guy that I needed add-ons and my fries. He gave me the small container of fries and then proceeded to go around the counter to see what I was talking about to the girls when I got my sandwich back, it did not have lettuce tomato and extra onion. Yes, I know it comes with the onions. I wanted more just give me what I want. I should say give me what I pay for and I told the guy that was playing kitchen manager that I wanted tomato and lettuce he says it doesn't come with that. I said I don't give a shit if it doesn't. I want it. I asked to speak to a manager, and there was no manager on duty and I will definitely be calling back for my money back. Have been to this Red arrow many times since it first open in Nashua. Most of the time it decent food for the price with a nice dinner vibe. Service definitely can be worked on. The waiters range from okay to bad. The pies and desserts are the best part of the place. So make sure you leave room for dessert! One of the better places for a late night bits. read more

Wow! A Red Arrow without the wait? That's what I thought when I came in. But along with the larger facility, it also brought the large diner atmosphere, where the joy of the staff and customers felt lost. Closer to the hospital canteen than the Red Arrow that I am accustomed to in Londonderry and Manchester. All that said, it isn't a terrible experience, it just isn't what I am used to with this brand. We ordered two simple breakfast items (eggs, toast, and protein), and it all tasted great albeit a bit cold, as if it sat for a while before reaching us. Bottom line, I will return, but I won't introduce my friends to the Red Arrow experience here, but if I'm in the area and extraordinarily hungry, I'll go here before Denny's or IHOP. read more

i visit this Red Arrow maybe a couple times a month for breakfast. i've never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seated. The food and coffee are always excellent, and the service almost always is. The very few times it wasn't, well, i guess anyone can have a bad day once in a while. I had been curious about this place for quite a while. In fact, I almost visited the Manchester location. That is....till I saw what part of town it was located in, plus the fact that I'd have to pay for parking. No thanks! Anyway, from what I gather, this place is *technically* an indigenous chain. I guess. But the décor suggests that Mary Ann's and Friendly's (yeah, remember them?) had a kid. One thing you need to understand about this place is that it is criminally understaffed. Like, we've never seen service this slow before. Interestingly enough, the wait for a table wasn't very long at all. But the wait for food or even something as innocuous as a coffee refill? 45 minutes. That's right. Four....five. Quatro....Cinco. There were maybe two waitresses in the entire place. I kid you not. Pretty sure there were just as many cooks in the back as well. Anyway, you get the point. It took ages to get....anything at all. Funniest part is when the food finally came out....my dish was completely wrong. Now, when I say "wrong", I mean....wrong in every way a plate possibly could be. I honestly thought I was receiving someone else's order. For reference, I ordered: 3 eggs over easy, corned beef hash, hash browns, and white toast. I, in fact, received: 2 eggs scrambled, pancakes, wheat toast, and home fries. What is this--opposite day?! Here's the thing, though. I wasn't even mad. Actually, it was pretty hilarious. I guess knowing how terribly understaffed they were allowed me to see the humor in this situation. Anywho, after the lady strangely offered to buy me the WRONG plate, I told her, "thanks...but that's not....what I...want." So, they just re-fired the plate I originally asked for, free of charge! Now that's what I call cool beans! After all that, how was the food? Okay, but not anything to write home about. They use extra large eggs, which is cool. The homefries were seasoned decent enough. But the hash...was a bit dry for my taste. Maybe some people like it that way, but I ain't one of them. Plate gets a 6 out of 10; would try again if I were drunk, high, or both. The Red Arrow Diner is now open on Daniel Webster Hwy in South Nashua in the former Friendly's in front of Tulley Automotive Group. The Red Arrow Diner in Milford closed for business last year and the focus was opening a Nashua location with much more traffic passing by. At the time of this review, the coronavirus pandemic was ongoing and only takeout and outdoor dining were allowed in New Hampshire. For now, there are picnic tables along the front and side of the building, some covered by tents. Normally, The Red Arrow Diner would be open 24/7, but for now they are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner 6AM-10PM (only temporary) with a limited online menu. The Red Arrow Diner would join Denny's as the only 24/7 full service sitdown restaurants in Nashua. I stopped here for dinner takeout later in the evening, but the online ordering system was only functional from 2PM-8PM, so I had to phone my order in and arrive at the drive-thru pickup window 15 minutes later. The Red Arrow Diner in Londonderry also has a drive-up window too! I drive-up to the pickup window and my food was all ready to go, paying for my food and validating my Loyalty card for points (every $1 spent equals 1 point and 100 points equals a $5 rewards certificate). The pickup window service was very quick and the cashier had to take my phone to enter in my loyalty membership number for points, though there is a bar code in the app. I ordered the Arrow Steak Bomb ($10.75 plus tax) including a side of Macaroni & Cheese, which I've enjoyed before at the Londonderry location a while back before the health crisis. The steak bomb was filled with grilled shaved steak, sautéed mushrooms, onions & peppers, & melted cheese on a soft chewy sub roll. The macaroni & cheese (yellow color) is very dense, rich and filling. So far so good for The Red Arrow Diner in Nashua, even during a worldwide health crisis. I would expect this diner will be a great addition to the numerous dining choices along Daniel Webster Hwy. read more

Food was great! Service was absolutely horrible. I was there by myself on a Monday night at 6PM and the place was pretty much empty. After my simple order was taken i was completely ignored by my server. I got so tired of waiting for this person I got up and got my own to go basket for my left over food. I then asked a Female server where I could get a to go glass for my drink. Instead of her bring it back to me she tried to get my server to bring it. He decided he would rather clear a table. Finally when I got it I said I would also like my check. Ten minutes later I was finally leaving. He looked up set because I only gave him a 10% tip, and I only did that because the food was good. We were a party of 8 and received amazing service from Chris. The food was outstanding and we look forward to coming again. We started with the seafood chowder. It had large pieces of seafood and potatoes. The broth was so good and not over creamy. Everyone enjoyed it. I had the smash burger and it was delicious and look forward to getting it again. It was a large burger, juicy, and had caramelized onions and American cheese. The bun was okay but I might want to try it on Rye next time. Three people in the party had the Dinamite breakfast which was huge. They all loved it. One person in my party needed sugar free syrup and was surprised to find that they stocked smuckers sugar free syrup. Pastrami on rye was good and the country fried chicken was amazing. However, I really wanted a tuna melt. Normally, I make my own tuna melts, but I was out for the day and I thought I would try it . This was by far the best tuna melt I've ever had outside of my home. It was full of tuna overflowing, actuality, lots of cheese and cooked to perfection! It's a diner, I'm sure that if I got a patty melt it would've been just as good! My frappe was ok- but whatever- I really was there for the food. Honestly, I don't know why people complain- it is a diner, with diner food. So, if you haven't grown up with diners you missed out. First order was chick poutine and the chicken was RAW. Waitress (not her fault of course) took it away. Then came my kids chicken fingers and fries. You guess d it RAW again. Then the waitress made a snippy comment about taking it back and cooking it well done, I replied, chicken is either cooked or not cooked, big difference. We decided to go with burgers. You ever have Bubba Burgers? 100% fat and looks glossy pale when cooked, if these weren't buns burgers I'd eat my hat. I myself had the liver and onions. A lot more room than Manchester (it's in an old Friendly's) and the service was great. I had the hash brown steak bomb special and it was delicious, quite a good combination.
