When you visit you never leave hungry. I love the flavors available, each time you visit you can choose a different island to order food from, each with their own unique styles. Nice owners and large restaurant with parking available. We arrived at 11a and only received the breakfast menu but we heard another table ask for lunch so we did the same. There's a mix of Dominican and Jamaican food. We ordered the jerk chicken and oxtail - both were good and large portions (counting rice). I wish the jerk chicken came with cabbage, and it was pretty mild but they do bring out a tray hot sauces. It took a bit for service and there were no patties out yet. The oxtail was very tender with a lot of gravy. There's also WiFi available and there was a table who was working and eating. read more

This restaurant need to be shut down wasting my time and money. Beware that the food is not fresh or has any seasoning. The food taste like it was three days old sitting in the fridge. This restaurant is a kitchen from hell kitchen (Mark my word). The owner is very nice but he lied to me about the food being fresh. I notice there was no smell of food when I walked in the restaurant. He took all the food out of the refrigerator and warm it up and charge us a arm and leg for left over food. After finding that there was Caribbean food in Nashua, we decided to give this place a try. We got immediately seated after arriving. The restaurant is pretty big, with the walls being a beautiful shade of light teal and adorned with canvases depicting beaches and palm trees. Strings of white lights hang from the front window and decorative palm trees stand in two of the corners near the front. A diner counter is situated near the back and behind it is a shelf of wine bottles and a coffee machine. (The restaurant is a diner in the mornings). The tables also have decorative placemats that look like Hawaiian shirts. They're super cute! Daughter ordered Jamaican chicken curry and it came with 2 sides. She had the white rice and callaloo. She thought it was delicious and that it had a ton of flavor. She said that she would order it again. Hubs had Lambi creole with rice and beans and garden salad. It's conch that's stewed in a tangy tomato base with hot peppers, thyme and garlic. He liked his entree a lot. Lastly, I had the Creole shrimp, which is sautéed shrimp in a tomato based spicy sauce and is served with pasta or rice. I got the djon djon rice and got a side of fried plantains. I loved this dish. It's been a while since I've had Caribbean food. There was an operating fee on our bill. I believe that this place is a diner by day and Caribbean food by night and run by 2 different groups. Correct me if I'm wrong. There was hardly any business in there. There was only one other couple while we were there and a solo diner. I hope that the place survives. Glad we got to try it. Stopped in last Friday night for some takeout. Ordered 4 dishes to give them all a taste. Let me say this....AWESOME!!!!!!!! It is very definitely a "classic" cafe with a storng 50's theme. Pictures of 50's icons on the walls, some of the booths made from old cars and 50's items on the menu. For breakfast this morning, I chose a loaded omelet that had ham and peppers and onions with a cheddar cheese. Cooked properly and tasty, it was just what I needed (with the three super sausages) to fuel up for the day. Service was great. Clean restaurant. We called and they said the beef patties were made to order. They lied. They served us microwaved Tower beef patties from the supermarket . They were disgusting. Worthy of the 5 stars. The ambience is very casual, the food is just flat out amazing and much better than I have had anywhere in quite a while. Went there for dinner and the other two people I was with were in agreement. Just amazing food. I had the Chicken Curry and my daughter had the Jerk Chicken. Formerly Comets Restaurant, I had breakfast at Norton's Classic Cafe located at the corner of Main Street and West Hollis Street. The atmosphere feels like a scene out of "Happy Days" (per Holly S.) which is very retro 1950s with black & white checkered floors, sea green colored vinyl booths, tables, lunch counter seating, and there's also a special Ford Fairlane cutout booth. There are "portable radios" with a volume knob near every table that plays a 1950s tune, about every 10-15 minutes. The place is decorated with Elvis, classic framed celebrity pictures, old records, model classic cars, and other vintage items such as a jukebox (with CDs), gumball machine, and an old Coke machine face on restroom door. The prices are very reasonable with items priced under $9. The breakfast menu offers egg dishes, omelettes, pancakes, French toast, Belgian waffles, cereal, home fries, and breakfast sides. The lunch menu offers salads, soups, chili, sandwiches, grilled items, comfort dishes, fries, onion rings, chicken tenders, soda fountain favorites, ice cream, desserts, and daily specials. Greeted warmly by our hostess/server on a cold wintry weekday morning at 9am. She had such a wonderful smile not only with her lips but with her eyes. That impression stays with you. Quick service (our server even brought over the local newspaper), nice 50's atmosphere, good menu options for breakfast. I opted for pancakes and bacon. I have to admit to being a total snob about my pancakes as we (mostly husband) make them from scratch at home. Alas, these were typical of restaurant pancakes. This was my first time coming to Norton's Classic Cafe. It is a cute 50s themed cafe with a juke box, malt shop signs, antique model cars, and drive in speakers near the table. I absolutely loved the theming and the service was just as great. Our server was very friendly and happy to help with whatever we needed. I had ordered blueberry pancakes and my friend ordered the Ford Fairlane breakfast. The pancakes were good but not great and the Ford Fairlane breakfast was delicious. We stopped here after the nearby Amherst Antique Auto Flea market. It was cool since they carry over the classic car theme in the decor with many 50's cars as well as car themed menu options. Hmm, I wanted to like this place because it's got that classic retro 50s theme going on, equipped with the booths, the stools, the tiles, the jukebox, the chrome finishes, just everything 50s... it's unique and hard to find a place like this but after a few attempts, I'm just not a fan. I get that it's local and caters to mostly regulars and, to be quite honest, an older crowd, but while I can have an appreciation for classic stuff, I just didn't get any excitement out of my visits. First off, the jukebox was not used or on auto, so we sat in awkward silence, with several other tables, until the jukebox randomly plays a sample every now and then. That's no fun... While servers are nice and friendly, you are lucky to get coffee refills quickly because they do tend to pay most attention to their regulars. Finally, the food, just basic, for lack of a better term. Nothing exciting, just your typical, standard American, slightly greasy, cheap ingredients, regularly priced, non-vibrant, breakfast food. Omelets weren't loaded with veggies, bread was cheap, home fries were good but weren't that fresh, and my biggest issue is with the Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was too bland and greasy, you could see the separation of the grease and egg yolks, and even the waitresses made a comment on how I was stirring the sauce to get it to mix. She admitted that it was an ongoing problem and that was very off-putting for me. I wish I had taken pictures but I was just thrown off the whole time. Safe to say I won't be back but please do try and see for yourself, they need the local support it seems. read more

This is a definite throwback to Elvis Era. The place is oh so nice and cute looking. Their car tables and the floorings really make everything seem so vintage! And the jukebox has such a immense variety of classic hits to choose from. It was very entertaining. I came in for breakfast for my boyfriends birthday morning and it was a great choice. We all had different style of omelets. We didn't think anything super special about the food and the service wasn't 100% great, but it was something we really didn't care much for because the place is just so cool we didn't even focus that the omelet was just normal. Since this Resturant changed from Nortons Diner the food prep services has suffered, at least for breakfast. The last couple times we went on a Sunday morning the orders were not correct and it seems that the basic cooking of fairly easy dishes are not of a great quality. I ordered eggs Benedict the last couple times and the English muffins were almost burnt, and the hollandaise sauce was a bit thin. As well, I ordered hash browns and it came with breakfast potatoes. If the quality continues we will definitely find another breakfast spot to go to. On a bright note, it is Stacy that keeps us coming back. Throw a quarter in the jukebox, baby! Hop, skip, and jump on down to this total 50's throwback diner. With Elvis plastered walls and a majorly 50's color scheme, you'll be sure to be doing the jitterbug as you await your meal. My friend and I were craving small-town diner food when we yelped this place. We were so happy we made the stop! Walking in here is quite an experience. The lovely light turquoise and muted pink color scheme is quite a sight as is the model 50's car in the center (see pictures). They converted an old gas pump into a gumball machine and paired it with a fun jukebox to really add to that 50's ambiance. Each booth is equipped with a speaker that you control the dial for in terms of how loud you want to hear the 50's pop. Food: delicious! $15 will get you 2 coffees, a belgian waffle with strawberries, and a delicious sausage, cheese, and egg quickie served with homefries and toast. Pictures of food to be posted. The homefries were some of the best I've had. Even the coffee is good! The menu is full of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The breakfast specials are all named after cars. :-). There are lots of nightly specials for those looking for the evening diner experience. Renee, our waitress, was great. She even guided us to a warmer table to avoid being blasted by bitter air every time the door opened. She was quick and checked in with us regularly to be sure that we had everything we needed. Stopped here for breakfast on the way back home from Manchester Airport. Straightforward to get here from Rte 3, and dead simple to get back on the highway (although the restaurant is a little ways from the highway, you can't get lost!). The atmosphere was bright, clean, and friendly. As others have mentioned, the decor is 1950s-style, glossy and fun. It felt like many of the patrons were "regulars", and that's often a good sign. The wait-staff was nice, and very attentive (which you don't often find during a busy breakfast time). The food was good, solid American diner-type cooking. I had a "make your own" omelet with spinach and mushrooms, which was as good as any from the diners I go to regularly. My daughter wasn't that hungry, so she just had a bagel and cream cheese, which was so-so -- but the grilled corn muffin we shared was excellent. Went here on a Sunday morning for breakfast. When our party of 3 walked in, it was unclear whether we were supposed to wait to be seated or grab a table when it opened up. None of the waitresses made any effort to welcome us. When a table opened up, I approached the waitress cleaning it to ask if we seated ourselves... Her response: "well, you can sit here, once I'm done CLEANING it," like I was somehow inconveniencing her by asking. A little off putting. Omelets were good, coffee ok, potatoes a bit undercooked. The only breakfast menu items I don't think I'd try again is the french toast. Also I do wish they had real maple syrup available though instead of cheap maple flavored high fructose corn syrup. Lunch Items: Many of the lunch menu items are pretty good for the most part. Portions are generous and prices are fair. Atmosphere: I really enjoy coming here for the atmosphere and people watching. The coffee was great and they kept the cup full, I had a nice omelet and didn't notice till later I could have ordered some homemade corned beef hash as that would have been great.
